Unauthorized device (Google Play) - Xiaomi Mi A1 Questions & Answers

I have just unlocked and rooted my brand new Mi A1 (with Magisk), but I noticed (among all) that in Google Play>Settings-bottom line, my device is characterized as "Not unauthorized". I also noticed, after some reading in google help, that in Settings>Create Security backups although Google Drive security backups are enabled, almost everything in "Content" list are in status "waiting for security backup creation". Nevertheless, in Magisk and in Google Play, Safenet tests pass and seem to be ok. Before rooting, I have to say, that my device was authorized as it should be. Any ideas with simple words? Should I hide maybe some services from Magisk?

What's the state of your phone as seen from your pc through google account/device management?

Check this out.
It may help explain it.
I can't post a link.
But if you double tap on the section that tells you if it's certified or not it takes you to the Google help page about it.
Interesting points in there.

Yes, I know that and said that too on my first post: "I also noticed, after some reading in google help".
I posted that thread after reading that google help.

Cool.
You didn't say what part of Google help you read.
You didn't point to that part specifically..
What I pointed to makes perfect sense.
Sorry for trying to help.

All good.
It's sometimes hard to read tone in text.
Hope someone can give you exactly what you need to sort your question.

Try hiding root from all Google apps with magisk hide. Reboot and see if it helps.
If that doesn't, press install in magisk app and then press direct install. After the installation is complete, reboot.

Too many issues to solve (most of them solved, but I am not in mood for all this) so I unrooted, flashed stock, factory reseted and relocked.
Thing is that device is authorized again, but although Google Drive is enabled in Settings>Create security backups, it doesn't create now backups for apps' data, phone settings, etc (status: waiting to create security backups), but only for Contacts and Calendar.

Apps Won't Install

Hi,
*** PLEASE READ THIS THRU CAREFULLY BEFORE RESPONDING ***
I apologize. I am not trying to be rude. But I'm sure that we will all agree that it is simply wasting time and energy, when people do not read something thru and just paste in fixes that have already been stated as not working (below), or asking questions that have already been answered (below).
Anyway folks.....
I have read the various threads that I could find on this, but none of the problems are exactly like mine and none of the fixes helped me, so I thought I would try in a Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 area. I hope I haven't violated any rules.
I have a 32GB Samsung Galaxy WiFi 10.1" P7510 Tablet and at least 8GB of free speace.
I am running the Factory ICS v4.0.4 ROM Rooted, with the A1 OverClocking Kernel & CWM added to it.
What's happening is the following:
Apps in Google Play will install fine. Updates also work.
Apps from Amazon App Store/Market will no longer update, nor "Reinstall".
Apps that I have downloaded from web sites (Apk files) will not install.
If I try to install one of the second and third options, I do get the box that pops up and it shows both the "Install", and "Cancel" buttons.
But if I tap "Install", nothing happens. No error messages, nothing. The button doesn't even visually indent like it normally would when you tap a button on your Android device.
I have tried uninstalling apps, to see if it was messing up on the amount of free space, but that didn't help.
I tried clearing the Cache and Data in both the Amazon and Google Stiores/Markets, but that didn't help.
I tried uninstalling one of my apps from the Amazon Market, to reinstall it, because it wouldn't update, but now it won't even install again!
Any help would be appreciated! Thanks!!!

Maybe an over-kill question, but have you allowed 'Unknown Sources' to be enabled? If so, then this is a stumper indeed. Your story looks so much like that -should- be the issue... Good luck if that is not the issue...

That is a good question, but yes, I do have it enabled. I even tried enabling and disabling the "Debug" setting just in case it would make a difference.
Thanks anyway.

Not sure this goes along with the rules on XDA and security in general. There is a reason you no longer have access to a device. We can't and should not take the risk and guess what that reason might be. At all times we should assume an unauthorized access attempt. Especially in this case. Reported (under reserve).
A genious o.o

Shortcut to Settings
First, thanks to vn_mobile for sharing.
Second, here's a quicker way
Install Quick Shortcut by OTG as per the OP
Then search for "reset"
Select Settings, MasterClearActivity, Try
Reset Phone
Done!!
Great, I now can make a list of XDA members I know are morons. Let's hope they also have social media info in their profiles.

Maybe because this Exploit has been fixed and Google won`t let you bypass the FRP like that forever. It never worked on ALL devices.

Android Device Manager "No Active Devices"

Hello,
Android Device Manager says I have "No Active Devices". I wan't to enroll in the open beta but obviously can't. I've googled this problem and none of the suggested solutions have worked for me. Running 100% stock on latest April 2016 build.
Help is greatly appreciated.

I helped someone regarding the same.
Go here: https://play.google.com/settings
See if your device's visibility status is checked.
For the other person that I helped, didn't had his device displaying there. So he did a complete factory reset and started over, and thereafter his device got enlisted.

A user contacted me for the same issue. After he reflashed the stock firmware and logged his Google account into his device, the issue was resolved.
I am not sure if there is a particular cause for this, but it seems to be an issue only caused on firmwares shipped out-of-the-box.

Yeah the phone is listed on Google Play settings just not in ADM or the beta signup page. I have tried everything I can find online to fix it. Clear data for a bunch of services, disable then enable remote flash, reboot, etc. Nothing has worked and it is really pissing me off now. Such a simple thing that should just work but nope

Yeah those are some of the links I found also. Followed all the advice on how to fix it yet nothing seems to do the job.
I am tempted to flash an older stock image onto the phone and see if it is an issue with the May update that is causing the problems.

So I signed up for a new Google account and logged in on the phone and it added it to the new account ADM instantly! So it isn't a problem with the phone but something to do with my Google account. I have posted a question to the Google Nexus product forum, hopefully I will find a solution.

I hope you do. Every few day, I see a new user with this problem, so hopefully Google will look into it.
I've had the same issue for months. It first started with my 6P, then I got a Nexus 9 and while using my main account there is no entry in device manager for it also.
For both devices other google accounts work fine, so I'm convinced it's an issue tied to my primary google account. The only thing I can think of is I've reached some sort of internal limit on the number of devices associated with an account, due to the high number of flashes over the years. I can live with using an additional signed in account for device manager, but it's annoying. I'll be interested if anyone ever finds a fix!

How to bypass Google verification on Zte Axon 7?

I've tried many ways on YouTube none have worked. I found out a way to get on the Android launcher but when I try to factory reset it doesn't let me.
Generic solution to frp is to access browser no matter which one. Except for samsung phones and not all of them but a few. Accessing browser you need to download two apps. One is quickshortcutmaker and second is to download old google manager for log in but it need to be web log in. There is ton of videos out there. The reason you want web log in is so you can add additional account to that device. The rest is history.

I know about this one. Some Samsung phones have issues with this when u change password. It takes forever. U need to access share button in beginning of verification. Share button either name share or 3 dots or 2 dots connected. Try every single app choice u get. Apps itself is not the reason but web browser is. There are some apps which lets you share further. And there you will find browser icon. Try weshare!!!!!!
I never tried this on Axon 7 but i assume its similar to Lenovo A series with their own copy whole phone type of app. It lets you enter browser in that app. I assume that weshare is behaving in same matter.
The order is like this
You have google log in screen. Either you try there on log in or you try while accessing wifi. There is always some hyperlinks there like help, feedback, policy, security etc etc. When ever there is hyperlink then there is couple of options. Then you need to access copy paste by holding marked letters to access share or open in browser etc etc. From there is easy if you can access web browser. Follow youtube for rest.
The only time screw up messes "everything" and there is "nothing " you can do then wait is when you delete iphone from your own icloud so you dont have icloud on actuall device and then want to change password on pc while two step verification is active. That is a nightmare. It cant take up to a month before apple makes it done.

Hey don't know if you have seen this but I would try to use this app. I haven't had to FRP unlock a Axon7, but I have had a bit of experience in taking FRP off of phones along with many other fixes. If you can get to chrome or whatever browser and download and install this then it should work. I have used this on a ZTE ZMax Pro, so I would imagine it would work here unless they patched it. Anyway, good luck and let me know if you need more help.

Hmm... Well as I have not needed to FRP reset my Axon I can't really tell you exactly what to do. All I know is that method works on some and not others. Really what you are trying to do, especially if you can use the web login like someone else mentioned, is add a Google account that you remember how to login too. Then when you factory reset you should be good. If that doesn't work I say either try to reset the password or whatever Google account is on there, or maybe EDL mode programs which I haven't done much with. I'll keep looking for another way.
Edit: btw the web login you can try to use would be with the com.rootjunky.frpbypass-1.0.apk 1.17MB on the same site I last linked. That along with maybe one of the other Google account managers that are listed there. Good luck!

INFO & DISCUSSION: Google blocks Gapps - But there is a way out

As per the following XDA link, Google is blocking access to all unofficial Gapps but in case required, there is a way out by registering your android ID/GSF ID at google servers
Details at following XDA link: https://www.xda-developers.com/google-blocks-gapps-uncertified-devices-custom-rom-whitelist/
EDIT 1:
Read the updated article regarding white listing of custom ROMs
EDIT 2:
In case, anybody is facing this issue, can follow the steps as mentioned in the below link.
https://www.xda-developers.com/how-to-fix-device-not-certified-by-google-error/
EDIT 3:
Update on thread: 'The webpage to register for an exemption has been updated, and inputting your Google Play Services Framework Device ID now works. The instructions have been updated to accommodate the changes.'
Even if I am rooted & Magisk is passing safety net check, play services show 'uncertified'. No impact/warning messages as of now
EDIT: This is just FYI ( //Aware of playstore cache trick )
As of now, Custom ROMs are whitelisted.

Yeah there was an update few hours back on the original thread . But in case blocked , people can quickly move on to world without Gapps

Yeah, last time I tried that, there was an issue with display of 'installed apps' list etc in playstore. So currently no impact coz of that.

The 100 limit will be an issue.

As per the comments in link thread, users are telling that its taking IMEI instead of GSF ID, so some more observations need to be taken but if its GSF ID then limit might be an issue.

I have read that you can use both, but it might be just a rumour. But shouldn't Google already be knowing our IMEI and device info and whether that IMEI has been registered with Google as a certified device already?
If you ask me, it's all pretty stupid. They don't need us to do this but want us to, so that people would hold back on rooting and stuff.

Resistance leads to changes . If there are any blockers related to this, people might tend to avoid gapps world altogether & it would be happen for good

Even if I am rooted & Magisk is passing safety net check, play services show 'uncertified'. No impact/warning messages as of now

Use Magisk Hide and check "Google play store" then clear cache and data. That's it
