Recovery crash when flashing custom ROM - Galaxy S 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi everyone,
I posted this thread in general troubleshooting category and after some advice, I decided to post it in the S4 section.
I was since 3 years on custom ROM (CM and Lineage OS) and due to substratum, I had a bootloop.
My problem is quite particular, after a total clean (wipe and format cache, system, data, dalvik cache) of my device and flashing the stock ROM, custom recovery cause me some trouble.
Whatever I try (CWM touch 6 or TWPR 3.1.1), I can't flash custom ROM (Lineage OS 14.1), TWPR or CWM crash 1 second after the flash command and reboot, with disable touchscreen and even by using old navigation way and try again, same problem.
Tried also to disable file signature check but no effect.
Quick summary about what I did:
- Device: Samsung Galaxy S4 (GT-I9505)
- ROM stock used: I9505XXUHOJ2 ( the build on which is based the CF-Root file I used) and Bulgarian version due to mistake.
- I tried on these two ROM with in the two cases, no patch or Samsung ROM update made.
- Tried to install CWM by ROM Manager and ODIN (v3.09)
- TWPR installed by TWPR App using file in .img and not the second option (tar.img) for LTE Internationnal Qualcomm.
-Checked the root before last attempt with root checker and it was ok.
- Made 4 times already the clean and Stock ROM flash to clean recovery and try another way to install it (never had error after recovery install).
Actually I'm on the OJ2 Rom with update and patch delivered by Samsung with classic method.
In advance thanks for your help and I really hope it's not too serious.
By the way, sorry for my english, it's not my native language

Try flashing the stock ROM from sammobile.com or updato.com, don't root, use Odin 3.07 to flash the tar version of TWRP 2.8.7, try flashing a custom ROM.

Thx for the help/advice
Just to be sure, my stock ROM is actually from up updato.com but due to the patch and Samsung update I'm now on HPK2.
Here the detail of my stock ROM
https://image.noelshack.com/fichiers/2018/05/4/1517503670-screenshot-2018-02-01-17-43-00.png
(the integrated image link option made it as large as the moon so I prefer a simple link)
TWPR 2.8.7 is still efficient or another version would be better ?
If yes, I will try in the hour and I will give you news as soon as possible
EDIT: After some research, TWPR 2.8.7 jfltexx is not avaible in .tar , only .img and impossible to find it on net...
But 2.8.6 and 2.8.4 are avaible in .tar and 3.0.0 in .img.tar , which one is the best ?

I suggested 2.8.7 because Ihave used it in the past and it was very stable. Try a newer tar version. It's really just to see if the phone will take TWRP and boot it.

Whatever I try (TWRP 3.0.0 and 3.0.1 in .img.tar for jlftexx)
Odin (v3.07) do the job , my phone reboot as normal.
But when I shutdown it and lauch in recovery by manual way, got during a micro seconds the android logo of loading and intant "No commands " and I end on the stock recovery.
Edit: I will try the same method with Odin using CWM tar (never had problem with it before this day)
Same thing with CWM-v6.0.4.7-Touch-GT-I9505.tar
Android loading logo and "No command detected"

Problem solved
Well, I don't know how I made a sucess but it seems the "wild" method worked.
So here is the list of things I did in case somepne got the same trouble
Put your Zip file on SD AND Internal Memory (in case)
All the Zip files I used where on my internal storage during this procedure.
- Download mode:
uncheck Auto Reboot in Odin
flash TWRP3.0.1.0 jlftexx.img.tar with ODIN in admin mode
turn off device after flash ended
Obligation or the stock recovery will return automatically !
Lauch device in recovery mode:
If it's TWRP good news, slide to confirm modifications.
Recovery mode:
-Wipe --> Advanced Wipe--> Select Cache, Dalvik Cache, Sytem and Data (never check internal and SD storage)
I tried by mistake without wiping dalvik cache, and got no boot after 5 minutes so i made it again with all the wipe above
-Install --> Flash zip of the rom and Gapps (got an error at zip signature check on the ROM so I flashed after uncheck this option)
-Reboot --> System
Let your device launch on the new rom, set the basic parameters and after, if you want, return in recovery to flash the SU addon for root (got also zip sugnature fail so I ahd to uncheck it again)
Hoping no one will ever had the same problem but in case, I share my solution
Thanks again for help

please helpe i accidentially wipe all os system and data of samsung s3 neo i9300i

my device is samsung s3 neo i9300i.recently i install twrp 2.7.1.0 and accidently delete all partitions and system and data.so now there are no os system.and i cant boot my phone.phone stucks on samsung logo.but i can boot into twrp recovery mod.then i decide to flash stock rom throgh twrp recovery but it fails and also try cm 12.1 official and unofficial it also fails.its showing no md5 file found.patching system image unconditionlly and updating partitions.so what can i do.i dont have pc.so give me solution which can i solve with twrp 2.7.1.0 .and one que. can i install noble rom 2.1 on this mobile in this situation?please help me......
I think you still need to find any PC with samsung drivers installed and Odin. Boot into download mode (vol down + power) and flash service firmware to recover partitions. Maybe exist any other solutions, but this, IMHO, is what you need to do.
After installing cm12.1, doesn't it boot?
Don't worry about the md5 file warning or patching system unconditionally. If you got no errors (other than what i mentioned here), it should boot fine.
in twrp there is an option of terminal command.but i dont know how to use it.when i click to open this terminal conmand then open systems folders and files and bottom line there is a option of select current folder.so how can i use it to flash rom with this.anyone have idea then please help me
I several times wiped everything at once through TWRP, then just restarted into recovery, copied .zip files for the ROM and gapps from a computer and flashed them, so can't really see where is the problem in your case. Doesn't the PC find your phone as a storage drive after wipe and restart?
yesterday i successfully install nobel rom 2.1 in my device.but now problem is i cant boot my phone.its showing samsung logo and then automatically going in download mod.before this installation i several time wipe every partitition and succedsfully install noble rom 2.1 but cant boot my phone.problem always there.please please help me
Maybe the problem is with the ROM and it's incompability with your phone. What if through Odin you flash a stock ROM from a computer in download mode and then try another custom ROM?
But of course first try to enter recovery and directly flash (another) working ROM, because going through stock with Odin takes much more time and nerves. Also, with Odin you have to be extremely careful to use the exact stock ROM for your device, so this is kind of a last-case scenario.
Plz check the rom u r downloaded is not corrupted
Or download again by any other phone and save it to external sd card then plug it on ur s3 and flash it
plz can any provide me twrp nandroid backup of system and boot partition of s3 neo i9300i plz plz plz
because in my area downloading speed is too slow.so i cant download stock firmware.its getting corrupted.i try to download it 4 to 5 times but its getting corrupted.so plz provide me backup file

Yes of course you can. Flash whichever version you want. Just make sure it is only for your device s3 neo not any other Samsung phone. If you have solved the problem, then reply here and all moderator to close this thread.

Custom flashing my note 3

Good day guys,
I am from Singapore and I want to flash custom rom for my Note 3 LTC SM-N9005. I am not new to custom flash as I have done it successfully last time using Cwm.
However I been facing problem flashing custom on this note 3.
I have downloaded AryaMod ROM, rooted my stock firmware with chain fire auto root(flash using ODIN), installed twrp 2.8.7.0 using flashify.
I copied the rom to my SD card, power off phone, enter recovery mode (volume up, power and home) with Twrp interface . Wipe up the necessary delvik cache etc, then I install the ROM.
However I get to the screen where it says
Installing external_sd/ROM.zip
Checking md5 file.
Skipping md5 check. No md5 file found
.
.
.
Flashing file 1 of 1
External_sd/rom.zip
It run for about 2 mins. Then it auto goes back to twrp page. I reboot the phone into system mode but the firmware is not being flashed.
External_sd/rom.zip
What zip file is it ??
Edit: Didn't realize that AryaMod uses Aroma so latest version of TWRP is a no go.
If its an Aroma install then newer TWRP may/will not work .
See Rom faqs .

Download this one and flash it in your current twrp https://dl.twrp.me/hlte/twrp-2.8.7.0-hlte-4.4.zip.html
After that reboot again to your twrp and start flashing your rom.
You probably have flashed the one for 4.3 bootloader, a wrong one...
I guys I have the same problem when I'm trying to flash any Rom my phone its a 9005. I thinks its not TWRP 2.8.7.0 4.4 hlte etc... because I have it and did not work. tried by 2 ways: by updating bootloader/modem and without them and the result are the same. Im running stock lollipop, now without root neigther. So Im kind a stuck here in this obsulete 5.0 lol
any ideias, thanks in advance

Hi it's aryamod rom
Factory reset .
Flash stock rom through ODin .
Put Araymod zip on ext sd card .
Flash TWRP file through Odin .
Boot to recovery and flash zip .
FOLLOW ROM INSTRUCTIONS .
Installation Steps
Root permission and Custom recovery (PhilZ Touch 6.48.4 or twrp-2.8.7.0) is required for flashing any custom rom so make sure you are done this part.
Make sure your phone is fully charged to 100%.
Now follow as below:
Download the ROM zip and make sure md5sum is matched then transfer to your phone
Flash odin latest modem and bootloader from here
Boot the phone into Recovery Mode
Do a FULL wipe: Dalvik Cache, Cache, Data, System even if coming from a port rom
Flash rom
The first boot may take 15-20 min
After booting up in setting wizard make sure to uncheck diagnostic data

{SM-G900F} Custom Rom - Seems to be stuck {I think!}

Hey guys,
I flashed a custom rom, it's name is "Nemesis reborn v4" with TWRP Recovery on my S5 SM-G900F and it's currently at the logo screen with "Set Warranty Bit : kernel" at the top but it doesn't seem to be doing anything and I flashed it correctly using TWRP which is, Wipe, Advanced Wipe -> Dalvik / Art, System, Data and Cache and I then proceed to go to install and I choose the rom and swipe and reboot system.
I would like your guys advise please, thank you.
Kind Regards
The first time after a wipe, so a new flash, it will take around 15 minutes to boot.

It's been about half an hour.
First of all, I have flashed this rom and it's really laggy on our S5
Two times, I flash it, only one or two days and return back to AOSP based rom (Lineage 14.1,Ressurection remix 5.8.4)
Anyway, I want to help you to boot this rom on your phone as it's really nice to test the new Dream UX and this ROM especially doesn't have problems more than:
1.Ires scanner (can't run on our phone)
2.Finger print scanner (on lock screen only due to different s8 finger print scanner driver)
3.the hell much lag in the ROM (and others N7/S8 based ROMs)
----------------------
I think that you shouldn't have wiped the system partition
When I flashed it, I wibed only: (data /cache /dalvik-art)
Partitions, as I remember the developer of the ROM didn't say to wibe system partition
-----------------------
If the above didn't work then you will have to flash the stock firmware and flash the TWRP recovery then install "Nemesis reborn v4" ROM again
WARNING! During the process the whole internal storage will be FORMATTED Which mean that all your data on the internal storage will be erased (Your external SD CARD won't be affected :good::laugh
Don't worry because it isn't too hard, just follow the following steps:
1.Open your browser:laugh::laugh::laugh:
2.Go to www.sammobile.com
3.tybe the code name of your device in the search bar: (SM-G900F)
4.Choose your current CSC,which is based on your country, if don't know it, I recommends the BTU for you
As it's the best one for the European S5
5.download the latest releaseChoose the latest one-press normal download-sign in or register if you didn't-wait 10 seconds- the download should start now)
-Note: download size is about 1.5 GB or more (I'm sorry I don't remember how much it was)
6.extract the downloaded file using winrar or any .zip extractor (now you should have a 2.5 GB or less/more with the extension of .tar.md5)
7.download odin for pc (I don't remember the version but you should have downloaded it to install TWRB recovery)
8.open odin, press (PDA) OR (AP)
(Due to the difference between odin versions, the PDA button can be called AP in the Modern Versions of odin)
9.Choose the file that you have extracted
(with the extension of .tar.md5)
10.boot into download mode by turning off your phone and pressing on the (power-volume down-home) together in the same time until the phone boots and you see (booting download mode) in blue on the top left edge of the screen
11.plug your phone in the computer via the USB cable
12.There is a section called ID: COM (on the left upper side of the window in odin). The blank space underneath it will turn blue if your device is recognized. (If the phone is not recognized make sure you have installed the correct USB drivers for your device)
IMPORTANT! Do not place anything under the PIT section and make sure that “re-partition” is NOT checked. (On the left side you will see re-partition under the Options tab)
13.Once you are able to see that the firmware file is loaded onto Odin and your phone is detected, you can go ahead and press the “Start” button at the bottom of the application to being the installation process
IMPORTANT! Don’t touch the USB cable while the firmware is being flashed on your Galaxy device. Unplugging the device from the computer during the installation process or closing the Samsung Odin application mid-process can have undesired consequences
14.At the end, you will see a message saying ‘PASS” on a green background. This means that the installation is done. The device should reboot automatically and it should now be running on the latest stock firmware
IMPORTANT! If your device is stuck on The Samsung boot logo (not the splash logo) then remove the battery and boot into the stock recovery and wipe data/factory reset and wibe cache and reboot to the system
15.Wait around 15-20 mins and setup your device as it's new
-Now you are on the stock firmware, 50% of the process has been completed by now
16.Root, Install TWRB RECOVERY,Wibe: (Data/cache/Art-dalvik cache)
DO NOT Wibe System partition
17.Install the "Nemesis reborn v4" ROM normally
18.Reboot and wait around 15-20-25 mins, and then setup your device again

HELP! SM -G901F, TWRP can't find storage partition to mount

Guys this is help less.
After rooting my device I followed some instructions to get the Lineage 14. I flashed a BootLoader and a Modem as instructed and went forth to mount USB in order to transfer the custom rom into the device. But this is where the problem is.
It says E: Cant find partition to mount storage. I've tried to reboot, wide, data, storage, system and cache and repair the partition I don't know what else to do.
Anyone else can help? Btw I am fairly new to this stuff so please dumb it down for me.
Another thing, when I go to reboot my recovery it says my device isn't rooted and asks to install superSu, however it was rooted before I entered download mode and started installing bootloader and modem.
Now I have no operating system in the device so i can literally only use Recovery or download mode.
Is my device bricked? I don't know. :crying: :crying:

If you can boot recovery, all is not lost.
First, are you sure that you flashed the correct bootloader/modem for your s5 model (G900 T, P, V, F, etc? Odin should not let you flash the wrong one, but anything is possible.
If Bl/modem is correct, them the next thing is to get the custom rom onto the phone.
-make sure you have downloaded everything you need (rom, root method(pref Magisk), gapps if wanted)
- boot into recovery, I'm recommending and assuming that you are using the latest Twrp, if not, d/l official Twrp for your model, and flash that with Odin
-In twrp select wipe, format data, just in case.
-now you should be able to mount usb storage, using the option in twrp
- now you should be able to mount your phone to your PC and transfer the rom, put it somewhere easy to find on the phone. also copy gapps and Magisk zips
-now, still in twrp, select install, select rom zip, select add more, select Magisk zip, also flash gapps at this time if you want to use them.
-click the button to flash
-click wipe cache/dalvik
-click reboot
-pray ?

Hey man! Thank you so much for your reply. I installed CPE1 bootloader and modem driver, honestly I don't even know what they do. Was this a wrong thing to do?
I rooted my device using cf auto root, then flashed the bootloader and modem using Odin. After that I (stupidly) tried to boot my stock OS and it was stuck in a bootloop.
Unfortunately I won't be able to try your instructions this till tomorrow evening but I'll keep you posted!! do you mind if I pm?
Edit: I was using twrp 2.8.7 I believe, could this have been the problem? Also I updated twrp to latest and tried micro sd as storage and flashed a Rom but the phone is still bootlooping

Ok I see you have S5 plus. I'm not familiar with that device to know which baseband it should be.
One thing you might try is to boot recovery and clear cache/dalvik and then try booting the custom rom.
If all else fails, you might try Samfirm
https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-tab-s/general/tool-samfirm-samsung-firmware-t2988647
That should give you a stock firmware file to flash with odin.
You can pm if you need to, I don't own an S5+, nor am I a veteran flasher but I will try to help if I can.

Thanks for your help man!

Ok sorry I couldn't be more help
Oh, you don't need to use of cfautoroot anymore, you can just flash Magisk after the rom, and then use Magisk manager to manage all your root permissions.
So if you are going back to stock, I would:
-Flash stock in Odin
-probably boot stock once to verify (first boot takes long)
-odin flash latest twrp(uncheck auto-reboot, just battery pull after it says pass)
-power on phone with key combo to boot recovery
- format data
-flash rom/gapps?/Magisk
-wipe cache/dalvik
-reboot system (first boot will take long)
Hope you get your phone working again

Good News! Phone is back in full working order after flashing stock firmware. It was kinda scary though, I had to fix an error in Odin and then the phone wouldn't even boot up! Left it over night, booted it again and it worked fine Thanks a lot for your help, I'll try not to soft brick my device again

I want to run 64 bit on my J7 Pro

I have a J7 Pro (J730G/DS) and I was wondering if its possible to install ANY rom that is 64bit as my CPU does indeed support 64bit but my OS is only 32.
I want to use this smartphone as an emulation device but most modern emulators such as Citra and Dolphin require 64bit Android
if its possible, can anyone link a guide on how to change my rom to a 64bit one?
I recommend installing a custom Treble rom, as they are all arm64.
For that I recommend first to create a Vendor partition(with recovery) using the file Exynos7870_CreateVendor_2.0.zip(download from here https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-j7-2017/development/treble-project-treblue-j710x-t4098875)
Then recommend you to install this ROM: https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-j7-2017/development/unofficial-crdroid-6-7-t4119505
And you will have a 64 bit OS.

Thank you for the help, do you maybe have a guide for me? never installed a custom ROM before
[GUIDE][J730X] A beginer's guide to installing custom ROM on Samsung Galaxy J7 2017
In order to install a custom ROM, the general steps are to: Unlock bootloader, Install custom recovery, make a backup of your current stock ROM, and then go to install a custom ROM.
NOTE: It is good idea to note your software version and your baseband version right now(enter *#1234# on dial pad)
This is so you can find your stock ROM on https://www.sammobile.com/ and flash with Odin tool.
Unlock bootloader
In our samsung phone it is very easy to unlock the bootloader. All you have to do is go to Developer options and enable OEM Unlock(something similar to the image below)
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",
"lightbox_stop_slideshow": "Stop slideshow",
"lightbox_full_screen": "Full screen",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
To enable Developer options, you go in About phone, and press on the field Build Number multiple times(something similar to the image below)
Install custom recovery
There are multiple choices for custom recovery for our samsung phone. I recommend to install TWRP 3.3.0(link here https://github.com/ananjaser1211/android_device_samsung_jxy17lte/releases)
You need samsung USB drivers(link here https://developer.samsung.com/mobile/android-usb-driver.html and the
the Odin tool(for flashing the recovery)(link here https://odinflashtool.com/download/odin3-v3-13-1/
1. Turn your phone in to Download mode. For that, first power off your phone, and then hold POWER button together with volume DOWN and HOME button, then connect the phone with USB cable on the computer.
2. Open Odin tool
3. In the options tab, uncheck auto reboot
4. Select the custom recovery image in to AP field(the exact file name of recovery from link is TWRP-3.3.0-j7y17lte-20190417.tar
5. Start flashing.
6. Now, hold POWER, volume DOWN, volume UP and HOME button together until your screen on the phone goes back, then instantly hold POWER, Volume UP and HOME button together, so you boot in to the installed recovery.
7. You should see the installed recovery working.
Set up internal storage so the recovery works properly
Warning: This operation WILL DELETE EVERYTHING ON YOUR INTERNAL STORAGE. COPY YOUR FILES ELSEWHERE.
Use your installed recovery to wipe the internal storage, so it becomes available for usage.
Select the option Wipe, then Format data, and then confirm the operation.
No you should be able to use your recovery for other operations.
Make a backup of your current stock ROM
Use your installed recovery to make a backup of your current stock ROM.
Select the option Backup, and then select all partitions, then confirm the backup operation.
After this, don't forget to copy the backup in your computer. For that, you can plug your phone to PC while you are in recovery, and then you can just copy the backup. The backup is stored in the folder named TWRP.
Install a custom ROM
You can use your recovery to install a custom ROM.
The general steps for installing a custom ROM are:
1. Wipe the partitions Data, Dalvik/Cache, System
2. Download the ROM that is a zip file and store the zip file in phone(either internal memory or SD CARD)
3. Use the install option in recovery to install the ROM
4. Reboot the phone.
Install a custom TREBLE ROM
Treble ROMS are different than regular custom ROMS, because they need the phone to have an additional Vendor partition.
To create a Vendor partition, use your recovery to install the zip Exynos7870_CreateVendor_2.0.zip(download from here https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-j7-2017/development/treble-project-treblue-j710x-t4098875) and reboot your phone in to recovery so the recovery detects the new vendor partition.
Then you need to flash a particular vendor(Either Project Treblue, or H-VENDOR).
After that, you can wipe the partitions(Data, Dalvik/Cache, System) and flash the custom TREBLE ROM.
I recommend to flash this custom TREBLE ROM: crDROID https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-j7-2017/development/unofficial-crdroid-6-7-t4119505
To flash crDROID, first install the zip Exynos7870_CreateVendor_2.0.zip, reboot your phone in to recovery, and then flash crDROID(note that the vendor is included in crDROID).
Revert to stock ROM
You can use Odin tool to flash the stock rom. First find your stock rom on https://www.sammobile.com/, unpack the downloaded ROM, and then use Odin tool to flash all the files(BL,AP,CP, CSC)
To revert to stock ROM using your recovery, first install the zip Exynos7870_RevertVendor_2.0.zip(link here https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-j7-2017/development/treble-project-treblue-j710x-t4098875), reboot your phone in to recovery so the recovery detects that the vendor partition is gone, and then restore your previously created backup.

This is not an error that will break your phone. TWRP will install the ROM successfuly, so don't worry about the error. Since there is a Vendor partition, it is natural that the phone won't have a preload partition, so TWRP won't be able to mount it.
Now how is the ROM working?

it works well! thank you! I tried installing GApps (ARM64, android 10, stock) and that just puts the phone into a bootloop, so I re-installed the rom. maybe you know what it happens?

I suggest you install pico package instead of the stock package.

Do not flash cdroid, flash a treble rom instead. It should have a extension of .img instead of .zip
After flashing Exynos7870_CreateVendor_2.0.zip,flash skyhawk recovery project.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/ga.../unofficial-skyhawk-recovery-project-t4107145, rebooting into skywawk recovery, you should flash H-Vendor.

Without rebooting immediately flash gsi image.
after flashing reboot device.

Hello. Sorry for the long reply ahead. I have the same problem of wanting to use 64 bit apps in my J7 pro (SM-J30G/DS). It's my first time doing a custom rom as well and I followed all the instructions detailed here, but things did not go well for me.
The only step I missed is copying the backup to my laptop because for some reason my device is not letting it be copied. Nevertheless, I proceeded to install the custom rom since I was hoping to use the stock rom in sammobile.com instead as backup.
However, I keep getting both the error 7 and "failed to mount /preload (invalid argument)" when installing crdroid. I tried numerous ways to fix it but nothing happens. The following are what I have already tried:
- Install older versions of crdroid (all versions causes error 7)
- Remove assert in "updater-script" (tried it in 6.9 and 6.7 versions but still get error 7)
- Install latest versions of twrp (I cannot find the latest version of twrp for j7y17lte aside from what's here, so I went to other sites that offer twrp for J7 pro (2017). I found j7xelte and herolte but they don't work, so I used given twrp here again)
I can't fix the error and the install was always unsuccessful, so I decided to use another custom rom which is HavocOS. I followed the instructions but I still get the error 7 when installing project treblue. I tried removing assert again but the error is still there. I researched more but I can't find any more solutions to this problem or what's causing it.
One thing to note is that the create vendor zip was installed successfully (but with failed to mount/preload) and only the custom roms receive error 7. My research about error 7 said that it happens when the device is incompatible with the roms to be installed, but I'm pretty sure that my device is J730G/DS which should work fine since it worked with others here that have the same device. If my device was incompatible, then why does the twrp and create vendor work fine? Is it because my phone was not rooted? I saw that a lot of custom roms require root before installing, but it was not mentioned in the instructions so I did not root my phone.
Another problem is that I can't revert to my stock rom anymore. I found my stock rom in sammobile and proceeded to flash it using odin, but then my phone is stuck in samsung logo after rebooting. I tried leaving it for 8 hours to see if it will load but nothing happened. I can still access the recovery so I reinstalled twrp and would try to reinstall my stock rom.
Any help would be appreciated. Thank you!
EDIT: After reinstalling twrp, I tried flashing the create vendor and crdroid again and for some reason, the installation was now successful. But after rebooting to system, it was stuck in the crdroid logo. I then went to twrp again, formatted the data, then installed HavocOS and to my surprise, it was successful! There are no problems with boot and I am currently able to use the rom smoothly.
Problem is fixed since I am able to use 64 bit apps, but if you guys know what happened and what steps I did wrong, please tell me! I am still confused with what the problem is and I don't want to experience the same problem when I update my rom. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you very much!
