Change Usb port if didnt help change the cable if this too wont help change usb socket
if the phone says its still charging once you remove the usb cable the most common cause iv seen is dirt in the phones usb socket - clean it out with an object - you can also use cleaning solution but make sure the battery is removed and the socket is fully dry before you attempt to turn it back on

I got a weird problem with my Note 3. When i put the usb cable in, it just charging but nothing else. Nothing happens on the phone and neither on the pc. I can't choose MTP or anything else. The computer don't recognize it in device manager either. I tried with usb debugging on, and the same thing happens. Tried with Kies 3 installed, tried to install the drivers and.. yeah, nothing happens.
Can it be the cable? It's still charging.

Try another PC 1st, if the issue remain same then its faulty cable or phone software issue. I doubt its a PC end issue, check drivers again. Uninstall all 1st, uninstall USB driver from device manager also. If you install Kies 3 the driver will install with it, no separate require. Also check windows bit version for the Kies. Also try changing USB port on PC where you didnt put the cable yet see if its installing driver on 1st connect or not.
I dont think its a phone end software related issue. But anything could happen.

Then its a phone end or USB cable end issue. try resetting the phone if not work then replace the cable. Also if you can 1st try another cable. Any micro usb 2.0 cable will also work with PC connectivity.

Well.. bought 3 new cables today and none of them is working. Just charging the phone, but the funny part is that the pc recognize the phone in download mode. Is there anyone who maybe had this problem? And how did you solve it?
And I have no option in Settings->Storage.. :/

Then take it to service center or contact Samsung for help. Rooting customizing and using custom rom would void warranty. Or wait if any expert advices.

Yes you can try or do that. But 1st make sure to clear about warranty. I don’t know if this void warranty, ask others. If this does and if you don’t have any worry about warranty then you can go for anything, custom rom too. Make sure if you lose warranty due to tempering software then you will lose warranty on hardware as well.
As this is a expensive phone so its better to be on safer side, I think. You can take it to your nearest service center, the will do whatever it need.
Thanks for your time. I went for another cable, the 4th and now it's working
My phone will no longer charge or connect to a computer through usb I've tried multiple cables and even bought a new charger just to make sure what's weird is if I put it in download mode Odin will recognize my phone and will still flash files any ides on what would allow download mode and nothing else if I flash back to stock would it fix this I haven't tried yet because if I do and want to reroot I won't be able to without usb to adb the files

Do you remove it safely from your machine each time?
Are you on a custom rom? What one?
What version of the Rom you are currently on?
Could be an issue with the Rom you are on... could be a hardware issue. Without more info, it's real hard to help you mate.
I'm on the I think its qd2 v15 version of the 935u ROM and yes i know how to uninstall and reinstall drivers as well it just started happening Monday morning was working fine the night before i might use the warranty to get a new one was just trying to see if there was any info before losing root possibly till I get a replacement

You should try to go to fastboot and connect it since it loads low level drivers. Have you read the linked post and tried the steps?

Really hope thats not the case.
I simply cant check OTG within Twrp->mount when connected to pc. Aint got another OTG device. I hope there is some other way i can fix my problem because i dont want to spend money on repairing my connector. Thanks for your effort!

OTG won't work if connected to a PC, only storage and controller devices, no clients. you need a USB stick or similar, please do some research about usb OTG if it's not clear

If you have a chance to simply try it on another PC, do it. Otherwise Firewall, drivers etc should be your next focus.

I am having the same problem: no mtp, no adb, no fastboot, no otg
The phone charges with dash without any problems. I already tried 3 different computers (win 10 and Linux mint). Cant think of anything else than a Hardware issue of my USB Port.
My biggest problem is not getting adb, so i can't install twrp at the moment.
Are there any recommendations for me?

Yes I did and the difference between OP and me is the non functional OTG.

I'm not really sure, whether my port is broken or not. Shortly after I posted here, I found out, that I missed the Standard USB-Protocol-Setting in developer options (it was checked as charge). So I changed it and voila, USB worked!
But then I tried to install twrp (which was successful at first, but seems to be overwritten again by stock recovery) and now I can't get my device to connect again. I tried to disconnect, connect with other PCs, change the usb-debugging and standard usb-protocoll, connect in fastboot-mode, nothing works.

It's me again, I solved my problem!
When I tried to connect yesterday I noticed that my phone always charged and then immediately stopped charging again. It was charged to ~80% and didn't go any further. So I thought maybe the battery calibration is faulty, which can happen when you never fully charge. So I emptied the battery, charged it while phone off and tadaaa everything works.
It seems my phone interrupted the usb connection because it tried to charge my phone over 80% and the controller stopped it.

Hi,
Since two days ago, my phone USB connection is only working for charging, no data transfer of any kind (Windows/Linux computer, Android Auto, OTG devices).
I was using latest Xiaomi Eu weekly, but changed to Pixel and Xiaomi Eu stable to test, without any luck. The same happens from TWRP bootloader or in Fastboot mode.
Tried many cables that are working with other phones.
What else can I try? Any idea?

That is strange, mate! I don't think USB c port is broken. I would try a clean install with Mi flash (clean stock). Some partition may be corrupted
I also had the problem with an original cable. there was only loading no flash and no data transfer. to test I had used a different cable and it worked! to this day one cable only works for charging and that was an origibal xiaomi.
test it out before you repair the usb-c!
also, use a flashlight to see if there is no dust/cloth fibers in the phone/cable port.
Thank you all for your support. No luck yet.

At first sight there is nothing inside, I will try to clean it somehow just in case.
you can use ftp to send files if you need.
as for usb you use compressed air and needle to take out dirt
if that won't work, buy USB board - it costs about 5$ and replacement is just plug and play
