Hi there,
I have upgraded my one plus 5 recently to Oreo and just at that moment my old headphone was dying...so i was looking for new ones. But it is really hard to find one with bluetooth 5 in a normal store like amazon or should I be happy to find even some bt5 devices?...do you have any ideas? I would prefere some with a cable inbetween.

very constructive indeed... and, you weren't the first... OliNex were
Very constructive!
Are there actualy any specific HTC accessories anymore? Now that they insist on putting that damn mini USB port on everything.... Stuff like wired and bluetooth headsets should work across the board...
The only accessory I can think of that changes with each model are the powered in-car mounts. I spent a few quid on one for my Wizard and then bought the Kaiser a few months later and it's a different shape and there's nowhere for the audio jack to go! D'oh!
Lesson for the future: Buy a cheap adjustable mount and just bung a charger cable in the phone!
well spare battery never hurts!
im particularly interested in the video out. saves me carrying my notebook to conferences when i have to address a bunch of people on the future trends of microelectronics and microphotonics.
hope the resolution is good.

However what I would like to try is some video specs. now that would be great to watch movies with. anyone know of good ones?
I've always had the best luck with stuff from Seidio. I'm done wasting $ on the Ebay crap.
**EDIT**
Eagerly waiting for this phone...
Hi Guys,
could you sugest me which one of avaliable and not overpriced 2 din android car units should I buy?
I'm looking something for my Kia Ceed 1.
Which one is less problematic?
Important: BT + external microphone
Not important: DVD
Thanks in adanvce.
In my experience, BT (especially the external microphone) is the weakest point of most of these units. Otherwise, they're amazing.
Same question as miszi.
Can I find a chinese android 2 din unit that has a good quality external microphone and Bt streaming?
I am interested in buying something that works out of the box, and not doing any mic mod on the unit.

BT streaming works well, but the mic issue is fairly disappointing across the board and really my only gripe.
So there is not even a single android unit with acceptable mic?
I was planning to replace my old nokia CK-7W. As far as I can see most of those units dont have a tel. mute so I doubt those can work in parallel.

Not that I've seen. They're pretty much all the same hardware with different brand names and customized launchers.

Sorry, I have no idea about shipping to UE. I remember when there were good deals to be had on Alibaba, but those days seem to be gone for those of us in the US (at least on the products that interest me.)
Search your favorite shopping sites for android 2 din quad 1024 and you should find what you're looking for. The eBay link I posted is $30 cheaper than the aliexpress links you gave, which is a big enough deal to me since they're likely coming from the same place.
Hi there,
As the OnePlus 5 has Bluetooth 5.0, is it possible to connect two Bluetooth devices at the same time like on the Galaxy S8?
I will get my OP5 on Monday but maybe someone can share their experiences with me
Thx, Neo
As of right now, the short answer is no.
Sent from my Pixel XL using XDA-Developers Legacy app
The dual pairing that Samsung showcased is actually something of their own creation, it's not a feature of Bluetooth 5.0 itself.
Also, It should be noted that the increased speed and range claims of Bluetooth 5.0 apply only to Bluetooth low energy. So you're going to see a difference for some smartwatches and fitness trackers, but the majority, if not all, bluetooth speakers and headsets/headphones will have about the same performance as they did on the previous version of Bluetooth.
Once the OP5 gets Android O you will be able to do this.
But it's only a software feature, right? So maybe someone will develop a magisk module or something for this?

2 reasons. OnePlus confirmed it a while ago. Second. You already have it in the Snapdragon 835 hardware. It just needs to be turned on via a software update.
So we have Oreo now, do we need BT5 speakers as well? Or should this work with regular BT devices
Actually, the option is there now in the Oreo Open Beta 1. But I haven't tested it myself (I'm back on Nougat anyways now). But this option is somewhere in the developer options. There you can choose stereo output. It's just like that: On Android 7, max BT version has been 4.2 on every phone. Samsung implemented it into their devices on their own nevertheless. With Oreo, the capable devices will be updated to BT 5.0 and with BT 5.0, this feature automatically comes to the devices. So, you can either try the OB 1, or just wait till the official Oreo update in Q1 2018.
Now we have stable oreo .. anyone can tell me how to connect to multiple devices?

My Smartwatch and Headset or headset are paired at the same time
It connects to two BT speakers but doesn't play music together on both.
i have a samsung note 8... it will pair and play 2 amps at a time ... i believe it has BT 4.2 so far this is the only device that will play 2 devices at the same time.. i wish bluetooth would play 3 ,,,,4,,,or 5 devices at once... i heard 5.0x2 would but i,m not sure ... i,m working on that info now
It seems we won't have bluetooth 5 until Android O update androidcentral.com\bluetooth-5 (sorry, cannot share links yet)
Next update will include Bluetooth 5.0 Activation. As far as Android O, only saw one article stating that about Bluetooth 5.0 and O. LlabTooFer tweeted all the features of the next update and no mention of Android O. Also the latest base on Viper and Leedroid already have 5.0 Bluetooth support and are still Nougat. Don't know how well it works though not using those ROMS.
The original article I found was on htc blog (first link if you google "htc u11 bluetooth 5.0 htc blog"). There is an explanation why only Android O has this feature. Who to believe after all?
Android N doesn't natively support bluetooth 5, Android O will, hence the wait.

So they can't do, or are unwilling to do, what Samsung did to get BT5 working? I think I remember hearing about issues with BT on the GS8's, but what little time I actually owned a GS8 it worked flawlessly and even connected to two devices at once with zero issues. Just seems like a cop-out on their part IMO.

It's even mentioned in their article
When Android O, the next version of the Android OS becomes available, HTC U11 owners all over the world will be able to enjoy the benefits of Bluetooth 5.0.
We’re excited to be able to bring this announcement to HTC U11 customers around the world as we strive to continuously improve our customers’ mobile experience—we believe Bluetooth 5.0 compatibility helps do that.

My confusion came from all the early reports that I was reading that stated BT5 brings the ability to connect to 2 devices at the same time which is why I assumed Samsung had it fully working on the GS8's. Supposedly it's not specific to BT5 because BT4 is capable of doing it.
Also sony contributed it's LDAC codec to Android O, so we could enjoy high quality bluetooth headsets

How? I'd do it right now. We have this ability on our U11 already? I want.
Are you thinkin what Im thinkin? Wireless dolby surround with easy routing. Ornon dolby...simple 5.1. Why give dolby your endorsement. I been producing in 5.1 since my album mastered in Adobe Audition hit in late 2015. And Dolby got nothing to do with that effort.

I should be working on that. If the bt can send two channels of music it can be separated. And if 2 why not n channels. And why not choose. The stereo music has two channels. The 5.1 has 6 channels. So the size of a (wav) songfile is triple. My 26 song triple album was over 8 GB in size :good:
I am currently having two bluetooth lightbulbs. I see no reason not to get 4 more if bluetooth surround became available
Does s10+ support wireless android auto? I can't fond any info about it.

I read that the car's side also has to be compatible? So probably most existing cars won't support it anyway?
Yeah the car unit needs to support it also, My car radio support it but my current Note8 does not support it even with android pie was thinking of switching to s10 if ever it is supported.
Sent from my SM-N950U using Tapatalk
I am not 100% positive, but I beleive the only limitation to WIreless Android Auto is the phone must be on PIE - so with that, I assume that the S10 phones will work wirelessly.
I have a Google Pixel and use Android Auto a lot and frankly, I find the wired solution better - connections wirelessly take longer - where with my unit, when I am plugged into USB, the connection is nearly immediate. That is never the case with the wireless android auto connection.
Don't get me wrong, when it connects it works well - but sometimes I don't have the patience to wait so I just plug in.... I guess we will find out for sure how it works with the S10s when they arrive (or if someone already has one, maybe they can chime in....

Wow I have pioneer w8400 I hope it dies not take that long. I wish someone can test if s10 works cause my S9 with the latest pie update does not work with it such a shame very simple update but samsung just ignore to include it.

Not specifically about WIRELESS Android Auto, but I hope they come out with a fix to this.
Sadly my truck does not currently support Android Auto wirelessly. Perhaps GM will update the software. The truck is less than a year old.

Yeah, that's not going to happen. Oh well.
Lame
I have an aftermarket deck (Pioneer NEX8400) that does support Android Auto Wireless (and Apple Car Play Wireless that does work with my work phone). The Samsung S10+ (and my previous phone the S9+) with PIe do not support wireless Android Auto. I complained to Samsung support about this as the Pixel has had it working for a while now. They apologized for not offering it in this Pie build.
From what I've read, it just sounds like Google is hand picking devices it works for. Bullcrap is what it is. I left Samsung a few months ago after being loyal for 6 devices in a row, to get the Pixel 3 XL. I was unhappy enough with just the screen touch recognition on the P3XL to get rid of it, and came back to a S10+. I am totally happy with my S10 again, I feel at home........but if this is Google's plot to get people to switch? Stupid.
I know this thread is back from March, but figured it needed a bump. Is this something that can be added with root? Any dev's in here? I haven't rooted my last 3 devices, but with my previous devices I certainly flashed those more times than a sexual offender at a playground. I'd get back into it if this is something the dev world can make work!
It's here in Beta!
