No command - recovery - Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge Questions and Answers

Hi. Having a issue with my girlfriends phone. Don't know what happened, but it got stuck in bootloop. So I did a Odin flash, phone had custom Rom before this.
Now it's stuck on bootloop, and some times ends up like pictured.
Can enter download mode, but not recovery. I guess this has something to do with it having twrp before I flash stock on Odin?

That no command screen is shown first when recovery is booted. You either have to wait a bit for it to show or need to play around with a combination of keys to unhide the recovery menu.
Also when you go back to stock firmware from custom Rom firmware you have to factory reset your phone to boot it up again.

Finally, after about 3 hours I finally got access to recovery menu. First time I could not make any selection, 2nd time I got to factory reset and wipe clean. Now it's booting normally!

Key combination
Hi, which key combination did you use to get access into recovery menu?

[Q] Cyanogenmod 10.1(or 10.2) stuck in bootloop? D:

So about a few hours ago I saw that I could download the new 10.2 cyanogenmod. I wanted it because it was Android 4.3, so I downloaded it. I tried watching flash movies and stuff, and the browsers and stuff kept crashing, and the internet didn't work completely. So, I downloaded 10.1 again, and installed it. It rebooted to the teamwin thing, and then rebooted again. A few minutes after, I was curious as to why it was still loading. Waited a long time, and it still was on the CM boot logo thing. Im using the Nexus 7 toolkit (its called something else, but im not sure what. The icon is a red toolbox with 3 tools in it), and can't reboot into recovery or flash stock back on it. How can I get it out of bootloop? I really need help! D:
Press all the three buttons , power , volume up and volume down together and boot into bootloader. From boot loader use volume buttons to go onto recovery , do a clean wipe there and reflash a ROM. Another alternative is to use adb and type
Code:
adb reboot recovery
then wipe clean and reflash ROM.

Hi Red Devil,
I just tried to install CM 10.1.3 on my Motorola Atrix HD.
I forgot to wipe data and cache before installing the ROM, and now it is stuck in the boot animation.
When I press the power and volume keys down together, it takes my phone to a black screen, and when I press them again on the black screen it gives me a brief menu that says
"Normal power up"
"Recovery"
"AP Fastboot"
"Factory"
and another one I can't recall.
This screen times out in about 3 seconds. and regardless of which item from the menu I select, it still shows my boot logo, then the CM animation. I cant boot into fastboot or recovery, and I can't find anything good online to help me.
Help! What do I do?

How to enter recovery mode?

Hi guys,
I know it sounds like I didn't do any homework, but this hasn't been mentioned before. To enter recovery mode, I tried holding power+vol down buttons until the logo appears then released them and continuously pressed them again (and also hold them in other tries) but it just went on loading into the system. The only way I can enter recovery is by reflashing cwm thru the pc, and then it reboot into recovery by itself. I want to be able to enter recovery without using the PC, please help!
Thanks

[Q] Note 3 n9005 stuck in 'reboot recovery' after failed mobile odin

I tried mobile odin to re flash my already rooted and cyanogen'd note 3 back to a root ed stock rom,
After hitting the go button it reset and now will only reset into reboot recovery mode.
I have since tried odin connected to a pc and this shows it as added so I think it is connected ok, I have a rom and that shows up as fine and when I click start it reports the SetuConnection message and just sits there.
The problem I have is that it won't reboot into download mode no matter what i try.
Additionally, when I boot I see the recovery reboot message for a second and the Samsung logo and then the screen goes black and stays that way. Bth the capacitive buttons vibrate when you touch them but do nothing else and the volume seems to change the volume up and down. Still with the black screen though
Anyone come across this or have any ideas.

it could be your recovery image is broken somehow. make sure your phone is off. try download latest custom recovery. i recommend either twrp or philz touch cwm. while phone is off, press home + power + volume down. when you see a warning screen, press volume up. this will go to download mode. flash new recovery via odin.
i had issues before with custom recovery causing recovery boot loop. the only confirm working recovery for me is cwm philz touch and twrp.

Phone repeatedly trying to boot into recovery.

I tried flashing ClockworkMod Recovery using ROM Manager to a device and then I used ROM Managers "reboot into recovery" option to launch recovery. Unfortunately it seems the flashing of the new recovery was unsuccessful in some way despite ROM Manager reporting otherwise. Thus the device now tries to boot into recovery, fails and then tries to boot into recovery again.
Is there an easy way to make the device boot normally to android so that the recovery can be fixed?
Flash stock recovery via download mode
I tried this, the problem is I can't get it to boot into download mode since even when holding volume down, power and home it tries to boot into recovery.

Just hold them down regardless until it does. The 3 button combo will override any flags to boot to recovery.

Trouble flashing TWRP

Hi, everyone.
I have a galaxy s8 SM-G950FD. I have once flashed TWRP and rooted the device successfully.
Then I tried to install a custom ROM but I got bootloop.
After that, I flash official ROM to unbrick my device. But since then, whenever I tried to flash TWRP again I got this message "Verification failed unable to restart your device the integrity verification has failed. You need to reset your device to factory default settings. This will erase all your data."
My device is still working fine but I want to try to flash a new ROM (even if I may brick my device forever). I don't know what to do. Can you guys give me some advice ?
Thank you!
It's quite a simple fix I think: You need to make a backup of the Data partition and then do a wipe using TWRP. This happens because TWRP cannot handle Samsung's Encryption; the only way to bypass this problem is by formatting once again.

But I cannot boot into TWRP. How can I do that ?
If you're stuck in the bootloop you should press the force reboot key combination: Power Down + Home + Power. After the device restarts switch the Volume Down key for the Volume Up key right after the screen goes blank. That should get you into TWRP (if it's correctly installed), otherwise directly into the stock recovery.

I cant flash/get into TWRP. I tried to boot into stock recovery and do a system wipe/factory reset. Then I flash TWRP again but nothing seem to happen. I tried to boot into recovery and it get me to the stock recovery not TWRP.I did unlock OEM, used Odinv3.12, twrp-3.1.1-2-dreamlte.img.tar.
I had the same issue.
After Odin has flashed the Recovery it performs an auto reboot (if checked in Odin). So at this reboot hold Vol up + Home + Power as soon the screen goes of. You need to be quick. Then it should boot into TWRP.
True, Samsung's stock recovery is very persistent lately and if you tick the auto-reboot you have to be very fast in switching to Recovery mode combo.
Otherwise you can choose not to tick auto-reboot, force restart the device after the TWRP flashing was successful and immediately switch to the Recovery combo.
Here you go: two ways of doing this.
