Replacement Speakers? - ZTE Axon 7 Questions & Answers

My brother's Axon 7 has what I can only assume to be blown speakers. Does anyone know of where one can find replacement speakers?
Cheers.

Only place I have seen loudspeaker parts which looks remotely above board for the Ax7 is Aliexpress. A lot of the components in ZTE phones come from Ivibrate. I do know something...resellers for the components are hard to find!

Protip: Don't Google "Ivibrate" at work.
Thanks for your reply. Do you have any experience (or have you heard of any) with those Ali speakers?

I can just imagine the search results haha
None I'm afraid! It's probably an Ax7 part which not a lot of people need replaced in the lifetime of the device.
Are you sure it's the loudspeakers that have blown? Just seems strange for two separate units to go at the same time

Take the speakers off and find some similar looking ones anywhere. Most of them are very similar. You might even be able to get some from an old phone. Usually those speakers have roughly the same size and have the two contacts on the back. in some cases they will have a flex cable soldered, but i think these are just the springy contacts kind.

Need to find replacement ear pc. receiver. Help Please.

I work in a machine shop and there are a lot of very fine steel chips everywhere. When I put my phone in my pocket all of the fine chips get sucked into the phone from the external speaker magnet and the ear pc receiver magnet. The same thing was happening to me when I had a NexTel phone that had a much more powerful external speaker so, it was kind of understandable. But, at any rate I took the phone completely apart and cleaned the external speaker and that sounds fine now. I also cleaned the ear pc speaker but, I think some steel chips are too far in because the speaker still sounds like **** or it blew from having the chips on it too long. I would rather just replace the speaker myself instead of getting a re-furbished replacement from t-mobile. I looked all over but can't find a replacement ear pc. at all. It would be really cool if anybody know a place to get these type of pcs. Thanks in advance.
Come on guys. You mean to tell me that nobody on this forum knows where to get replacement parts. I find that hard to believe.
Thanks for the help. Lol
Mike,
If nobody has replied, then I guarantee you that nobody who has read your question knows where to find that part.
Now, there are a number of places that sell some types of replacement parts for the HD2...things like digitizers/screens, outer shells, buttons, etc, but I've never seen an item like the speaker you need sold through any distributor. That's the kind of part that rarely finds it's way into normal distribution channels, and so your best bet is to find a junked HD2 that doesn't work for some other reason, but has no problem with the earpiece, and then it would just be up to you to extract the component you need and pop it into your unit.
You can just do a regular google search for "HD2 replacement parts" to find the standard outlets for that type of thing, but I honestly doubt any of them will have exactly what you're looking for.
a few weeks ago I remember seeing a bricked hd2 for sale on ebay for parts. perhaps you can check ebay.

yeah that will be ideal if that guy can get he earpiece for it...he's got some for other models anyway. I note that he's got the pic and the title messed up for the HD2, it's listed as the "Touch HD2", with a pic of a TouchHD...and he's using the HD2 pic for the HD Mini lol.
Thanks everyone. I'll try the cell parts website that was mentioned and if that doesn't work I'll just do a claim on my insurance and get a functional refurbished one. It sucks, but what are you gonna do. I frown uppon refurbished phones. Lol. Thanks again guys for the responses.

Tab Parts

I have a i800 tab and was wondering if anyone knew of a site/company that sold.parts for them. I have searched Google quite a bit and can't find a site that sells parts for these tabs. I did find a site that sold parts but mainly for the sprint version not sure how much internally is different though. I am mainly looking for the center piece of plastic frame where all the buttons are located in. If anyone knows of anywhere for parts hep would be greatly appreciated thanks everyone

Yea the first link is one of the first sites I looked at just wasn't for sure if the button placement and everything internal is the same on the us cellular model. And the fact that u have to buy 5 of them lol but hey if they are the same and decent priced I won't mind 4 spares lol....second link I just saw accessories no parts.
Yea the night I posted this I had checked eBay and didn't see anything I will have to keep an eye open. Thanks guys if anyone knows of any more I would appreciate it.

Still looking globaldirect will not sell parts to an individual. They claim to only sale to companies that do repairs not direct to the consumer. I don't understand the logic behind it.

That sux, go to one of the phone repair shops near you, and make a deal, you pay say $5 over the price of the parts if they order, and give them to you.
Then you make the repair.

External speaker gone dead after 2 days

Hi there,
After 2 days external speaker has gone dead!
Tried wiping, factory reset, hard reset, and all over again. Nothing-zilch-zero
Found on XDA and elsewhere that Samsung has quite a track record on this particular problem, with GS, GSII and yet with my GN...
Any other reports on this?
Will return mine now.
Regards,
Keep us posted with updates please....

Sorry to hear about your external speaker problem and having to return your note, what a bummer. I didn't realise Samsung had quite a track record on faulty external speakers. Can you post some links in case I get the same problem? Thanks.

Just Google on Samsung External Speaker Dead.
Regards,
Just happened to me. I was listening to a podcast and suddenly no sound. I thought it was Google Listen which seems to occasionally pause for no reason on my N1, but it was still playing. Restarted and tried messing with volume and mutes. BT still works but speaker won't come back. I was using it at full volume if that has anything to do with it.
And I have had it for 8 days.

if you google for an issue on any manufacturer, you're likely to get hits on it specially when the device is popular
Lord, why's so many things wrong with Samsung phone? I just purchased a Note without reading the forums before buying. Hope mine doesnt cause me any headache or this will be my last Samsung phone.
I really don't think this is a widespread issue. Google only reveals this case (now two) and I found a few captivate issues. So it seems pretty isolated.
I found if I put the volume all the way up and hold my ear to the external speaker, that I can just hear it. Will have a chance to back up in a bit and try resetting everything and see if anything helps. Otherwise not looking forward to shipping this back overseas to Samsung for service since I had it a few more days than I thought and Handtec has 10 day policy.
UPDATE: Samsung UK said to contact Handtec who was easy to work with and provided RMA. Part that stinks is that it will be about two weeks before I get a replacement, because shipping overseas in any expedited means was stupidly expensive.
Scaots, did you get any other warranty or are you using Samsungs warranty? Did you have any hoops to jump through for them to honor the warranty even though you're in the US?
did u try and clean out the headphone jack? (maybe with compressed air/ electronic cleaner)

Handtec was no hassle. They had me fill out a form and issued an RMA. Shipping back to UK is a hassle. Expediting would be crazy expensive so going to be another week before I get one back. Still have to find out if I get reimbursed for that.

It's a problem with the device speaker. Headphones work fine and so does the earpiece. If something was activating the headphone jack audio then earpiece audio would also be trying to playback through the jack rather than the earpiece.

Things to do with a near useless OnePlus One?

What would you guys suggest one could do? My OPO lies on my desk collecting dust petty much. It has a faulty touchscreen and not even the latest touchscreen "firmware" remedies this.
Because of that annoying touch issue, I picked up another phone two weeks ago, a Galaxy S5.
I had in mind to just throw it into a brick wall but seeing as I don't like wasting money, that's not really an idea. Though it would be highly satisfying. I can't really sell it like this, can I? OP does not seem to respond to emails.

Malfunctioning from the start. I first thought that it was a software issue but now I'm sure it's a hardware fault.

unlock it, and install Franco kernel.

Unlocked and rooted since day one. I've had this since the beginning of September. I run Franco r29 on top of cm11s 38r but the touch is still bad. Better, but still bad.

Broken as in faulty touch from the start. It's usable, sure, but I can't overlook that issue so personally it has no use. Maybe I'll keep it to test vanilla L on it.

It may be more than it's worth... unless 'principal' is the most high for you.
If you don't get a response from OnePlus folks, walk over to small claims at your local court house and file a small claim against the company. You'll win.. its a PITA, but sometime when the principal (law Law on your side) is worth it... do it.
It sometimes help mold a companies responsiveness and ethics for the better.

Yeah mine's currently RMA'd to fix that same problem. I don't think it's a wide spread issue but I'd setup an RMA to get it fixed quick.

I am in contact with ZTE Canada. They ask for my IMEI so I guess I will have to RMA it also.
Sucks I like the phone but one of the thing that scared me going with ZTE was reliability. :-\

Yeah like I said, I don't think it's widespread. I'm the one that caused the problem.. But I think it's very cool that they RMA'd it for free and are taking care of it. Now I don't have the device yet so we'll see what happens when it's all said and done, but at this time? I'm completely happy with the warranty on the phone that just CAME with it for free. I dig that.

That does not sound normal. I'd contact ZTE support and see if that's covered by their warranty.
Hello.
Ive got the same problem since this morning. My phone never dropped or something like that. I cannot plug some headphones. They were easily pushed out every time.
