my phone wakes up by touching the home button/fingerprint scanner and/or the screen itself, and i don't like it
is there any way to prevent the phone from waking up from anything but the power button?
i don't use the fingerprint scanner and my nokia 6 ta-1000 is rooted ( android 7.1.1, jan 1 2018 sec patch, 00cn_3_31d_sp04 rom )
thanks in advance

I know Marshmallow does a lot of wakelock/alarm optimizing on its own, but I like to run Amplify not just to extend my battery, but also for privacy reasons - I block a lot of services with things like "analytics" in the names. I got my new Nexus 6P today and while getting everything set up, I noticed that somewhere along the line the fingerprint scanner had stopped waking the device - I'd put my finger on it, get the single vibration, but the screen wouldn't turn on. I'd have to hit the power button as well. (Oddly enough, if I did the fingerprint and then the power button, it would unlock immediately on waking, so the fingerprint scanner was clearly registering the fingerprint, it just wasn't able to actually wake the device.)
I managed to narrow this down to being Amplify's fault somehow; with Amplify disabled and no other changes, the fingerprint scanner works as expected (wakes and unlocks the device in one press), but with Amplify enabled, even without any services, wakelocks, or alarms actually blocked, the fingerprint scanner won't wake the device. Has anyone encountered this? Any fixes?
Hi,
from this afternoon, when the screen switch off, I can't wake it up anymore fingerprint or powerbutton, I ear the sound that proves the phone is locked/unlocked, but the screen remains off
Any idea?
hmm i know this from using the frong finger xd .. i tested how secure it is with others finger.
...if i use the wrong finger too often it locks the phone for some sec and in this time it wont react on fingerprint reading. But that the power button also not works is new to me. Already restarted the phone?
Hello,
I recently purchased an AXON 7 and really enjoy using it. After updating to android 7.0 i noticed that when i press the wake button, rather than the screen flashing on it takes a few seconds for some kind of a wake animation to play. This is especially noticeable when I use the fingerprint sensor. Does anyone know how to turn this off?
If you disable animations all together, it will disable them on wake up as well. Unfortunately, it's all or none for now.
On the old nexus i had the rom had wake via volume.
I have a feeling my power button on the axon will suffer the same fate as ,my old nexus with the broken power buttons.
Changing the power to power up with power or volume up kept the phone running until got this phone.
Is it possible on stock rom to do this?
Thanks
Why don't you use fingerprints to unlock the screen or double tap to wake feature?

Either your Nexus had a cheapoass button or you had really bad luck. That's not normal at all, it's most likely that it won't happen. But the fingerprint sensor wakes the phone without turning the screen on anyways. The DT2W feature is horrible on stock and LOS so just use the fingerprint sensor

Nexus was known for **** power buttons. I broke 4 phones just with the power button. I think i hit the button about 20-50 times a day.
I don't really want to put my bio info on the phone. I am trying to find something else i can trick the FP sensor with.
I was trying DT2W i figured if you shake the phone first it works about 70% of the time
I might have to use FP sensor.

I think it's not really your bio info, it's just a bunch of points that that specific fingerprint reader can recognise. If that wasn't the case I believe you would be able to register your fp on Google and access the account with any fingerprint reader, but most operate differently.
Plus you can encrypt the phone at startup.

I setup the FP sensor. Thanks.
I installed this rom recently and noticed it was heating up in my pocket. When I looked, the screen was unlocked. I checked why this was happening and by accident, the knockon was activated. I disabled this function and the problem persists. Does anyone know how to solve it?
Obs.: The problem is not warming, but the unlocking of the screen because it has times that it makes calls to some contacts, opens randomly and opens some applications ... causing the device to warm up ...
If you're using Auto Face Unlock along with Smart Lock's On-body detection the phone will sometimes unlock right after you hit the power button without locking, that might be it.

Hello, I do not use Auto Face Unlock. That's why I find it strange. I have to use a password or the unlock pattern so that no bull**** happens.
