So my battery is at 56%, I hook it upto the charger it's been on the charger for a good 2 hours now. I unhook it and my battery suddenly is at 30%...
Also I've noticed that my device gets hot, not burn your hands hot but noticably warm hot.
Should I be worried? Could there be a short somewhere, the device is just 3 days old.
was your wfi turned on during charging?
Yes it was
that sounds really bad especially since it didn't charge
did the light come on? you might want to consider getting an exchange
Yes the light did come on and the charging symbol did apear on the screen.
If wifi is turned on and set to best performance, and if you have backlight set to remain on when connected to external power, your device will drain more power that charge.
that will explain your battery/charge/heat issue
Actually I can confirm this shouldn't be true. I turned WiFi on, turned my brightness to maximum and always on. In about 10 minutes I went from 52% to 54%.
I was using the wall adapter to charge it. USB charging might be too slow to replenish that kind of drain.
definately exchange
you don't want it to blow up
hi,
pls. i have problem with charge battery with usb.
Sometimes it Works and sometimes it stops working, led blink orange, green, orange, green and battery status is still on the same level.
I have always allowed charge with usb – in menu is it checked.
Strange is, that it charge till now (and battery status is about 20% better – during this led was only orange), and in this time its blink again and doesnt charge (30 min. still the same level and led blink orange-green). Because it sometimes works i think the cable is OK or?
thx for help
Any suggestions?
I have the same problem
The charging is stop to 66% and i have use the battery Debug tool and also measure the same....
Strange thing
USB ports are rated sat 500mAh nominal and if you have a number in use then the available current can drop below the level needed to charge the phone and then the circuits can suck out the power from your battery draining it further.
Charge from wall socket and then from USB but don't do it at lower levels as you will continue to get the problem.
The knock on effect is that you may have damaged your battery by the charging process you have been subjecting it to.
Put it on charge and keep it on for as long as possible and then whenever you can to keep it at max capacity for when needed for longer periods.
I'm having this problem while charging my battery during the night. I'll plug the phone in when i'm in bed, and when i wake up, the phone says charging but it will be down to about 85%. i've had it show up at different levels multiple times (78%, 80%,88%, 92%, etc.) i know that the battery will charge completely and then stop charging for a little bit as to not damage the battery, but going all the way down to 78%????
any thoughts?
I got an external Samsung OEM battery charger (EP-B600CEWC) with an OEM battery. The battery works almost perfectly, but has one issue.
When charging in the external charger, it actually charges quickly, EXCEPT it takes 11 hours for the charger light to turn Green. If I take the battery out of the charger after 2.5 hours or so, although the charge light is still red, it shows fully charged when placed in the phone.
When I charge the original battery that came with the phone, the charge light turns Green after about 2.5 hours.
Oddly, when charging the apparently defective charger battery in the phone itself, it charges quickly (1.9 Amps), and the LED on the phone changes from red to green in about the same time as the original phone battery. In other words, the battery behaves normally in the phone, but it does not behave normally in the charger.
Anyone understand what might cause the extreme delay with the external charger LED turning green?
i cracked my screen, got it repaired, and now it cannot charge properly like before. i tried many different power adapters, and cables, including it's original. when i check the battery status, it says it will take 40 hours to completely charge . when i hold the power button and turn it off, it charges faster while being off, but says "charging stopped temperature too high or low" when i turn it on. any suggestions?
