There is app that can completely disable NavBar, but it does not work on Oreo. Somebody can update this app?
p.s. Sure I know that I can hide it, but it is not that same as completely disable it.

Are you rooted?
Interested in this as well.
0pt.navbar.apk was perfect but doesn't seem to work with Oreo. Really hope somebody updates it else I doubt I will upgrade to Oreo.
No root for s8 snapdragon on Oreo yet. I would also like to get this working. Right now I have imersive mode on but the nav bar pops up when I swipe up and its really annoying. And yes I know I spelled that wrong.

The app we mean works without root (through accessability).
We might have to use the adb method to use a constant immersive mode if that 0pt.navbar.apk doesn't get updated to Oreo. Would like to stay away from that, though, because it causes some problems.
(btw, OP is most likely using an Exynos, as he seems to be from Russia).
Right, I have an Exynos version. All commands for adb that I have saw is for temporary hiding, like a stock feature (dot on the left side of navbar)

As I already said, this method just hide a navbar like a stock Samsung OS feature (dot on the left side of navbar). Somebody find this workaround when OS had not this feature.

Does the navbar reappear when using this method and swiping up? What's the difference compared to the 0pt app from Tigerhood we're using?
Guess we'll have to wait for a dev to get on this. Hope somebody will.
Yes, navbar reappear when you swiping up (with stock feature or after applying an ADB command). 0pt completely disable navbar. It will not reappear when you swiping up.
There is an Xposed Module that you could try, something like Hide Navigation Bar
Update the title. With root there is a way to do this, but without root - not and I`m trying to find the solution.

Add this line to your build.prop in a root explorer.
qemu.hw.mainkeys=1
i tried that with Oreo beta 4. But after i added this line, i got a bootloop, thats why im still on nougat.
I also haven't found a working solution to the problem, and therefore returned back to Nougat. As of recently, Navbar seems to me like something totally obsolete. Fully disabled navbar + Home Bar Gestures app = pure magic. I really love this navigation experience similar to iPhone X. Don't see a point in Oreo yet. Almost no new features but a lot of mods and tweaks from Nougat do not work. Staying on Nougat and advising you to do the same. Peace!
System mods which is a substratum mod using Andromeda is in the works to get this feature but I agree Oreo isn't worth it.
I just want Oreo because it's smoother.. But yeah, the navigation is more important at the moment. Can't understand why not more people use swipe navigation.
Bump
Anyone found a way to disable nav bar , i just installed oreo and i am still searching for a way to do it
Hi guys i asked this dev for a mod to disable nav bar he needs that files i need someone to upload that my internet can't upload more than a picture , and i couldn't find res and tw-res because i am noob in this stuff i only found framwork.apk and the folder but no luck with other stuff, if someone has good internet and wants to disable nav bar can post here the files or send it to me or send it to him directly

I did try that app but it does not work properly with multiple user profiles.
Just tried it, and on cleanroom 1.3, the nav bar vanished completely. No way to restore with without rebooting into safe mode and uninstalling it.
CM10.2 Kanged rom has this feature in there as well as lots of others like the AppBar/Ribbon support, Halo Notifications, Center Clock, transparent bars, Bar colors and tweaks, theme support, AOKP keyboard, etc.
I've been using it for a few days and feels great. I'm not sure if I supports tablet mode, but I'm trying to get used to the stock UI on a tablet.

I have already tried that app and it was already mentioned in this thread as well. The app is very buggy and does not work well with multiple user profiles. Start on boot does not work either. I had sent an email through Play Store but never received any acknowledgement.
You can edit the DPI following these instuctions.

:silly: I replied in wrong thread. Anyway I just got NN7 and I'm testing it. I will check multiple accounts problem, but I cannot reproduce autostart on boot problem on any of my devices including NN7. On topic: PA rom allows to change navigation bar size or you can change device dpi as already suggested.

No worries. I think someone else said that set-on-boot does not work either. It could be related to multiple-user issue with my device.

Glad I could help.
There's not a lot of demand for this but here we go anyway haha!
This has only been tested on dynamickat 4.2 and all credit goes to bri315317 for his awesome rom. Also this will not work well with tw so install a 3rd party launcher that supports navbars.
1. First things first back up your rom incase you mess up something and your phone goes poof.
2. open up your build.prop located in your system folder with a file manager and add qemu.hw.mainkeys=0 as the last line in your build.prop
3. Reboot into recovery and Install the Aosp systemui that bri made for his rom.
If you don't wish to customize the navbar buttons then there's no need to proceed further.
4. Download xposed additions for xposed. This is used to disable the hardware buttons.
5. Download gravity box kk for xposed. This is used to customize the navbar buttons and other parts of the rom.
6. Make sure to install another launcher besides tw launcher because tw doesn't work well with softkeys. I installed nova launcher but Googles launcher works as well.
After you've done all of the above reboot and profit
Actually I've done some fairly serious googling to accomplish what you've outlined here.
Hardware home button has been my biggest issue since buying the device. Thanks a bunch

Does anyone else here a problem with the Dialer app? I have an extra bar at the top that is only made for the settings icon and it blocks the first contact.
Edit: Do I need AOSP UI now? I'm on Dynamic Kat 4.2 and was able to get a navbar before, but when I tried to add it just now to get a screen shot of my problem I just get constant UI Crashes.
This happens by editing the build.prop file and with using GB.

That's because it adds the menu button. Which takes up space unfortunately. But shouldn't affect anything other then an eye sore

I'm also upgrading, guess if they have resolved the battery drain issue
Anyone root it yet? Does the usual method per senor Heisenberg's directions work?
Post what's different guys.
7.1.1. Got a support tab in settings. Nothing but help guides. No support staff. New 'Moves' sub setting, which is where Gesture settings now live basically. Still looking for more...
Android Pay now pre-installed.
New Camera app? There's the grid options now.
New 'Restart' option when long pressing power button.
Keyboard has Gif support under emoji menu.
Not seeing anything more right now. Can't be bothered to check stock launcher as I use Apex. Sure there may be circular icons etc but I just don't care!
Seems like the battery Life improved, anyone?
I don't have the battery drain issue like 7.0

There are dozens of articles out there on what's new in 7.1.
I totally hate the support tab. It's completely useless for me, any other XDA member or even any non member with half a brain. In fact the whole settings page has gotten nasty post Marshmallow.
Otherwise things seem to be improving slightly with almost every iteration.

That's the only thing I haven't been able to get it to do so far. That and I don't have as many round icons as the pictures of pixel scenes show even though I have the pixel icons all installed and the pixel launcher
Probably a silly question, but I got the OTA when rooted. Is it safe to install it from there, or should I flash it manually (I've only modified build.prop for the Assistant and have the Pixel NavBar as a substratum theme).

Thank you so much for that info, really miss it in EMUI 4.1!! Can't wait to get the update to Sweden
I'm gonna post some screenshots also for those who have not gotten into the beta group yet.
Just noticed some new options when connecting the phone to a PC, including reverse charging and use as a MIDI device. Also, my PC now identifies the Phone as an Honor 8 instead of FRD-L04.
Is there a DPI setting anywhere in the settings menu? I think Nougat was supposed to have this built in... at least stock Nougat does.

This is one of the reason for my wife to choose the honor 8. She doesn't wanna see the half page size of short cuts when she would like to see as many as notifications at the same time.
And they removed the time column from the left side right? This is going to be a downgrade from emui 4.1 to 5.0

Taking the plunge right now. I'll report later.
anyone else try it yet? I am assuming it is daily driver ready like N beta was
I am also waiting to see what people are reporting, hoping it's stable. Since I am on a custom rom it's a bit of a pain to load, don't see factory images yet.
I was thinking about trying this Android O beta out. I have a Verizon Pixel running stock (the bootloader is unlocked though). Should I have any issues?
Also, I know if I opt out of the beta, I'll lose all user data but will I lose user data when opting in and upgrading the Android O?

Unlocked bootloader is not a problem, in fact its better to have the option if anything goes wrong.
If you switch to official O when it's out no wipe required. Only if you want to go back to N.
I too am waiting for reports before i put it on my daily. i will be throwing it onto my nexus 6p tonight thought to try it out. if i dont see any bugs that are too bad... i may throw it on the pixel
Really eager to hear about battery life impact here if anyone can provide feedback.
Can anyone give some basic info about stability? I'd love to jump on with my Daily Driver, just if it isn't ready for it, I'll wait. Thanks in advance!

It's a nice beta so far. One thing noticed is double tap to check turn on the black screen but tapping the screen or notification icons won't do nothing and theme option won't switch to Pixel theme, even selecting it. Notification dots is a very good implementation for handling notification in a easily way. Ending my words, another great thing is that now night light have a intensity slider.
