Hi,
Firstly I'll explain my problem. I use bluetooth to connect to my car's audio system. However, I find that once the device goes in to its "powersaving mode" the device looses its bluetooth connection every minute or so and then immediately reconnects. I have found that if I ensure that it doesnt enter powersaving mode eg. by disabling it in the power settings then it doesnt loose its connection. On older ROMs I never had this problem and the device remained connected to the car stereo all the time. I have read that other people have had this problem with various ROMs too. By a process of elimination i think it has something to do with ausdim's XIP. As the ROMs ive used without this mod have worked flawlessly. Does anyone have a solution for this, or know of any modern ROMs that dont have this issue?
Many thanks,
densil
I have read several posts for people having the same issue as I was having with my LG G2 running and AOSP based rom so I thought I would offer what worked for me YMMV>
I am running Carbon rom (have tried several different roms with the same results) and when I pair it with my Uconnect 8.4a system on my Ram 1500 it goes through the usual process of pairing, downloading the phones contact list and then it starts asking my permission to access my call logs and contact list. Then it will ask me to access my messages, if I answer yes to all of these then bluetooth starts an endless cycle of crashing and restarting and the only way I can stop it is to disable bluetooth on the phone.
Ok, that was the issue and here is what has worked for me to fix it.
1. In bluetooth settings on the phone set bluetooth to always be visible. May or may not be necessary on yours but it was on mine.
2. when pairing to the infotainment system do not allow it to access your messages. The Uconnect system reads out your text messages as they arrive and for some reason it doesn't work well with AOSP based roms. I hate this feature anyway so it's no sweat to me not having it. It's annoying for me to have whatever I'm listening to interrupted by a stupid text message! It can wait people!
Hope this helps someone!
Hi,
After upgrading to Android 8.0 on my H870 I'm encountering multiple issues.
Using my G6 with Ford Sync 2 or 3 keeps crashing Bluetooth. Meanwhile using Bluetooth with my Marshall Stockwell works absolutly fine. Unpairing and pairing again doesn't seem to work.
Also GPS in Google Maps only works for locating me, but when using it with Navigation my location keeps being stuck at my original position and doesn't move...
HERE also keeps being stuck with "Waiting for GPS".
Restarting the phone didn't help.
Does anyone have a solution to my problems? :crying:
Many thanks in advance
Solution:
After restarting my G6 about 3 to 4 times and disabling Call and Contact Access in the Bluetooth device settings and then restarting everything works fine now. (including GPS)
Update:
The problem is back again
Somewhat new solution:
By enabling the developer options my "Bluetooth AVRCP Version" was set to AVRCP 1.5, which isn't the default...
So by changing it to AVRCP 1.4 Bluetooth works fine now...
VS988 here: Everything seems mostly okay, except for the constant bluetooth crashes. Anybody else seeing that? Also, FWIW, not enjoying the system notifications. Trying to figure out how to turn those off.
Usual first fix after a major update is factory reset, did you try that yet?

That would be my next move if the problem still persisted.

No, that is such a time-consuming PITA that I always wait until I have no other option. Thanks, though.

I'm H870 EU user, no problems so far after oreo update (without factory reset), BT pairing works as it should...
GPS and navigation also works without bugs.
Just do a factory reset
I had frequent bluetooth crash notifications on nougat. On oreo bluetooth will not connect a2dp/avrcp beyond first pairing with my Pioneer car stereo ..still works fine on bt headsets that dont pull phonebook including my old basic sony car stereo.

If you're talking about persistant battery notification hold on it from notification panel..unfortunately it's all or none. Wish Google had the foresight to allow disable on a per app basis, but you know how wishes go...
I'm having the same problems with bluetooth. My headphones can connect, however after about 3 seconds they automatically disconnect for audio (though they somehow still connect to the phone, just not on audio).
My car still connects and works, however it does sound now like I am listening to a scratched CD (whereas both were working absolutely fine before the update). Haven't found anyone with a solution so far.
Verizon G6 VS988 here.
To respond to a couple of the suggestions here, I did a factory reset first because of bluetooth and battery problems. That didn't fix the problems. I just changed to AVRCP 1.4 Bluetooth and hopefully that fix works for bluetooth. I also have a Ford with Sync.
Something new ive noticed is if i place a call it puts up the audio output notification and everything works as normal. Having reset my phone and car both i can only say LG missed out on my next phone purchase even when running low on phone options.
How do u change to that ? Is it on the phone device settings cant seem to find out how
GPS problem in G6 is a common issue. No solutions so far.
Bluetooth wont work with any device I've tried it with. Many restarts, unpairing, turning on/off bluetooth. Nothing works, need this fixed.
Just adding another testimony of the issue.
T-Mobile
I really hate to say this, but I really cannot recommend LG to anyone anymore after all the issues I've got with my phone...
Another question:
I have 2 NFC payment apps installed.
I'm now on version V20c-EUR-XX and since the upgrade I cannot change my default payment app, so when I'm in the store it always tries to pay with app 2 instead of app 1, even when app 1 is on the screen with the card I want to use...
This really frustrates me, because app 2 doesn't always work in stores (but is my preferred app)...

Is that issue because it's an LG phone? Or does it happen because of that version of Android?
One of my friends is using a Galaxy S8+ and he is running Android 8 (same as mine).
I just cannot think of any reason why they removed this feature...
(So it is a issue with my LG H870)
Hi all
I have weird problem with my h96 Max+
basically whenver i toggle bluetooth on in the settings, it either doesnt look like its fully enabled. or if it toggles completely, then when i back out of the settings page, and immediately go back in to check whether its saved that setting, the bluetooth setting will have turned off again immediately
i have also tried restarting and unplugging all devices. I have even flashed it from Android 8.1 to Android 9 which uses a newer UI. nothing has worked and i cant get the bt to enable
I have also plugged in a usb bluetooth receiver. The light turns on but nothing happens on the software or settings wise
Any ideas to troubleshoot this?
One random google result for the OpenEleec forums for their software suggested it has to do with Ethernet. Which i have tried unplugging to no avail
Thanks
Hi, everyone. I've been using my 8 Pro without issue on my 2016 Jeep Grand Cherokee since I got it, but ever since I updated to Android 11 last week my radio system has been rebooting every 3 minutes on the dot if my phone is connected via Bluetooth. No phone call or music needs to be active, it just has to be connected. When I turn off Bluetooth and the phone is disconnected, no issues whatsoever. Has anyone experienced anything similar?
Also, if I choose to downgrade, will it be an in-place downgrade and keep all of my settings and files, etc (just like the upgrade was) or will it wipe everything? I have no issue downgrading, I didn't dislike Android 10; I just want to make sure I won't have to setup everything from scratch.
Thanks for your time!

Can't comment on your Jeep, if it's Android Auto I'm advised that 11 works fine, however my centre clock mod does break the icons.
In regards to the downgrade.. no you will have to wipe, it's not possible to retain system data, I'm not sure about data but I would assume not.
Although I was able to upgrade to 11 from 10 without losing storage data, I don't believe it's possible in reverse, it also carries an inherent risk so be sure this is the right thing to do..
You will have to set up again.
In regards to your Jeep how are you connected?
Is it android auto? Or simply Bluetooth?
I would obtain another Android device also on Android 11 and see if it exhibits the same symptoms.
There are some Bluetooth options in developer options, they may be worth exploring.
If it's Android auto then I would make sure that android auto isn't being optimised for battery in settings
Settings /apps /android auto /battery /
Set to don't optimise.
Failing at 3 mins consistently is a telling symptom.
Hope this helps

It's just a straight Bluetooth connection. I used with my old 1+6 (android 10) and always works great.
I have the same problem with my Jeep Renegade.
Also, when the phone is connected via bluetooth, the USB input doesn't work.
The system is "Uconnect 5.0 System"
I am having the same issue with my 2016 Jeep Renegade using Uconnect 5.0. My phone is a OP 8 Pro
Same here, 2016 renegade and OP 6T, head unit randomly restarts after Bluetooth connection is made.
I've turned of media sharing off on the phone as someone suggested as workaround.
Is there a solution?
thanks to @Shackleboyrusty
Like many here, the android 11 /oxygen 11 update to my 7T crashed my car's uconnect system. Here's a fix that worked for me:
1) Unlock developer mode: settings > about phone > repeatedly tap "build number" until it unlocks
2) Go back to settings, then system > developer options
3) Scroll down to "Bluetooth AVRCP Version" and change it to "AVRCP 1.3"
Alternate 2/3 - search settings for "Bluetooth AVRCP" and change to 1.3
That's it, good luck!
