Guide for replacing Huawei contact/phone dailer with Googles stock dialer & contacts
If you're looking for a more stock feel, you can easily replace the huawei phone dialer and contact with googles stock dailer and contacts.
You'll need to install the following

Then go into Apps via Settings and search for Google Contacts Sync and select permissions, make sure "Contacts" is enabled as per screenshot http://imgur.com/T9MmFG7
Then select Set Individual Permissions and select Trust This App http://imgur.com/YztfbPn
Then go to Advanced, Default App Setting and select Call, change this from Huawei Contacts to Telephone

Did you default the app? Whats the error your getting?

I have a similar problem to jemsgaelle. I'm able to use the google contact, but not the dialer. Even thou call dialer is set to "Telephone". Calls are coming through the default dialer. If I select a contact to call from the google contact list it dials using the default dialer. I'm on NEM-L22 variant

Ask this question to Paul O'Brian, he knows a way to make it work. I read it in his thread but now don't remember what was the method.

Are you sure? what dialer did you install, I don't remember seeing Google Stock dialer in the play store?

You can get the dialer by flashing the stock gapps variant.

Does that still work for Nougat? I have the problem with my Mate 8 that after the update my Google Contact Notes Field gets truncated and can't be edited on the device anymore without data loss.

If its rooted, you can use the opengapps aroma installer and install the dialer this way. Haven't tried this method in a long time

Hi, all is working on my Honor 8 (the phone, contacts, etc.) but Once the call is placed, I still get the default EMUI calling screen...
Is your suggestion solving this?
What do you mean by flashing the gapps variant, and how do you do that? Does that mean rooting?

Yep, need to be rooted with twrp recovery installed

There is a flashable zip for dialer and dialer framework

not working on EMUI 5.0
may be need a root, with TWRP and flashable gapps to get this work..

I got the update to L29C185B520 by subscribing to huawei beta program as mentioned somewhere in the forum. Got the notification 10 days after. It's a 2.1 GB download and not the final version.

You need to register as beta tester for Nougat.

You mean boot animation.. No i have Chinese changeloc but u can put these in Google translater.. For now not much.. There is a new security patch from 1. Dezember and i don't know but it feels a lil bit faster and smoother as the B562... Now I have to look how is battery life after 2 or 3 charge Zyklus..

After update i got many problems with play store like downloading pending and some apps when i try to download it i got message " authentication is required. You need to sign into your Google account" ... I tried every thing to fix this problems by YouTube and everything but nothing was working any idea or solution

Happy new year , i know this step i made it, and i try to clean data cash, i tried uninstall play store, google service and reinstall it , delete google account, make new account...Hard reset... Etc but nothing worked... Some apps accept to install & update and some apps are not. Most of apps are not accept.

I think they already have it. They wrote they'll be busy for the next 3 weeks or so beta testing the nougat MIUI for mi5s, amongst other models that will also finally receive Android 7

yeaa, it is still a beta rom with lots of bug (!?)
the reason i put it here is mainly for developing purpose since developer may wanna extract some stuffs from 7.0 based official rom

yup, this is the first version of 7.0 based MIUI official rom which released today.
it is suggested to use fastboot flash instead of recovery flash for BIG update
but i dont think everyone can use the rom due to lack of beta access

Bugs (to be confirmed):
- There is a strange "play" button on below toolbar of miui browser, that after being clicked enable a mode that cause the crash of the browser.
- On mail app, after a mail being selected, you can see a bugged X on up-left point of the screen.
- There aren't any controls on notification shade for Spotify, Youtube Vanced or Browser download.
- Multitasking animation can be improved (slightly less smooth).
Apart this the rom is practically perfect, at least to be the first rom of Max 2.
