Great News - The new EMUI 5.0 starts to roll out to Honor 8 globally :)

Hi all - We are starting to push the new EMUI 5.0 to the Honor 8 over the globe! The update will start from 10 Feb in the US with other markets follow on. The rollout for Honor 8 will be completed by end of Feb.
After several phases of testing and feedback collectionthe new EMUI 5.0 is a great improvement! It offers a simplified interface and smoother user experience. Hope you will like it!

Good news but which version? I already have B360 on my FRD- L09 through Hicare app. Will we receive some bug fixing addition, or this B360 is final?

So can you please confirm about this 360 update that we got. Was it a pre-release beta ??

The b360 update we got in Janauary is not so smooth as people report. Too many bugs and animations break frequently (uninstalling apps from "settings" menu) etc. I still don't know if this was official update or another beta release. I'm hoping this "global update" fixed some bugs....

Will the source code/binaries for Nougat be released? It would help with the custom ROM development for the Honor 8, which seems like they could use a little more help from the Honor/Huawei side.

I have been trying via here, Google+ & MaDaco but I'm not really getting anywhere coz questions are not being answered.
Honor went out of its way to involve us at XDA and alot of us went out and brought this phone because of the perceived relationship.
Get involved and help via answering questions and providing source code needed to make our ROMs that we all love.
Don't get involved and you will lose the support of myself and I'm sure many others.

This is the mirror of the Honor/XDA partnership. Honor just throws some glitter into XDA users eyes, trying to ilude us that everybody is in fact taking advantage of this partnership but the only beneficiary is Honor itself!

I don't know, this just popup just now, before this i just flash b360 via twrp..and never get any ota's after updated to b162

This should be rectified. Come on, Huawei.
No official info if this all updates are officially out or just open beta. I think its beta but in other regions, different workers of Huawei service says different things. Should be one clear info. Im waiting to new week, i read that they will share updates by official channel soon.

From these screen shots what has been released is a mix of the Original 360 update and the new 360 update from team MT.
I'm really hoping that we all get this inclusive update.
Why give our two different 360 updates ??
Even if you had numbered them 360 & 361 ! It's not as if there is not enough numbers.
Mr Honor. U showing up on here is good in lots of ways but you can't just show up and post that and not answer these questions.
Read the threads mate.
People are feeling frustrated with the lack of info.

I think that you will have to unroot to get these official OTA's

If you select download latest package which size do you get?
I think you can update, even with root, it should replace your recovery and update.

To be honest Idk if putting it into the ota folder works since I never used the stock rom on any device. I just posted it here more or less just as a proof that some people already got the ota. But you can try it.

You could use this. It's what I did and everything works fine. I used the Hisuite method.
Do remember you are doing all this at your own risk as the update hasn't been officially released yet. ?

Huawei did say by the end of Q1 of 2017, but it's already April, so I really don't know now. Sorry.

It's still a beta version. The official update hasn't been released, at least as far as I know. You can see from my screenshot it's still a prerelease version.

Yeah, I've seen B332. It keeps failing to install for some reason. I think it is too, but I can't give a definite answer yet.

It's written prerelease under the kernel version. That's how. I honestly don't have any problems so far.

finally i could upgrade it to b332!
i used Hisuite, the first method did not work for me.

Great. I too was able to update to B332 but with the first method. Hope everything is working well and I was of help.

Install OxygenOs OTA using Opera VPN

Since i found many people asking the way they can install newest OOS update,i just want to share with you a tip on how you can get the OTA:
1.Download OPERA VPN app from the PlayStore (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.opera.vpn).
2.enable it and set it to Canada or Germany.
3.On parameters/system updates,search for the update you'll get the OTA available for download.
PS:This will only work for no rooted users!.

I've used the app mentioned in the OP and changed it to Canada keep getting system up to date . Do I have to be connected to wifi ? Or something im lost ? Any help would be appreciated thanks.

What oos version do you have?

I'm doing this right now. Worked like a charm. Update is pretty big but it is downloading.

Nothing special, download opera vpn run it and changed to Canada. Went to system update and the update appeared. I turned VPN off and was able to download and install. No issues.

General Firmware update 1.1.3

So the new update is out as of 17 August 2022.
Seen attached images for details

It's a slow rollout, so nothing to see on my mobile. But looking forward to it Seems like a good update.
Here's hoping for some more refnement with the OS with Android 13 in the near future!

Yes, rolling out SLOWLY, and unfortunately, not yet for me. There's another update scheduled for the end of this month or beginning of September as noted on their Discord server. This 1.1.3 is the "dope" update. The next update is called the "dopest update".

This is my update screen and it won't let me do anything since I'm rooted. The update tracker is behind as it's not showing 1.1.3 or apparently an Android 13 update that's showing on my screen.

The OTA is extracted from the official incremental update so there won't be any problem updating manually.
