SM-G928A Debranding Question

Hello all. I am new to the world of android and would like some assistance with a topic - flashing stock firmware.
I bought an AT&T S6 Edge+ outright and absolutely love the phone. Except that it's filled with all sorts of AT&T apps and certain functionalities of the phone is disabled. I researched the topic of flashing the firmware to another region/carrier's stock firmware and it seems that this is a possible route to "debranding" the phone. However I also learned that AT&T locks the boot loader. Will this have any impact on me flashing the ROM with another firmware for this model?
Thanks for all the advice and patience!:good:

Anyone who can help? Same issue here, can't stand this **** by at&t
Not possible
Device specific firmware is on carrier devices so if you try to put kor or T-Mobile or whatever on one the american s6 or edge then I believe its the bricks for you...I also believe if you have a clean imei the carrier will unlock it for you don't hurt to try ..the story is you may have to be on their network activated and also if you purchased through the payment option after its paid off it can be unlocked ..debranded whatever

Do what I done, Sell the phone on Swappa, Ebay, Amazon or Craigslist & purchase
an international version of the S6 Edge+ or any other Samsung International phone.
They all come factory unlocked and very easy to root.
The only feature the T-Mobile users will no longer have
is the wifi calling. Being rooted is an excellent trade-off
for the wifi calling feature unless you live in the middle
of no-where. LOL
All the other features work just as good in all the
international phones as with the branded phones.
Good luck and have a great evening!

sorry you can't debrand it if you wanna stay on official by installing a firmware
but you can try to remove carrier apps by rooting your phone and you also can remove olleh logo from power on screen by updating csc
Yes you can, I did it to mine.
I have official Samsung firmware with no carrier software or settings.
I get updates OTA as they are released.
Which one?

I have the Verizon S7e and iI was able to flash the 935U firmware without any issues. I think as long as it's official, and uses the same CPU it should work. Sorry if I'm wrong about this but maybe someone else can correct me if I am.
Because he uses a korean variant of the S7 Edge, there is no unbranded os for that s7e

At&t galaxy s8 update problem.

Hello guys..
I bought an unlocked AT&T S8 SM-G950U and the biggest problem i am facing now is with software update, my device is unable to fetch any updates from at&t.
I contacted At&t support and they in order to receive updates you got to have a at&t connection or else you'll not receive any updates. No manually dowloadable updates are also not avilable. They suggest to contact samsung service center.
My bootloader is also locked as its an Snapdragon US variant, please can anyone tell me that i can flash samsung stock rom on my s8 or not?? and how to do it? Or any other say to download at&t update?

If you have an unlocked S8, then update will come from Samsung directly and not AT&T. Do you really need AT&T's updates?
1) When you check for update, what do you get?
2) Also what is the build # that your phone has at the moment?
Go to the at&t S8 forums. Firmwares and instructions are posted there. I even linked to the latest Odin firmware if you search my posts.

No i dont want AT&T updates but i received it with AT&T firmware. Everytime i do update it stucks and after a while it shows that your software is up to date and dont check for uodates for next 24 hours.
Please check attached screenshot.

Yes, you are able to flash unlocked Samsung firmware on your device. Read this and ask questions on that tread:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s8/how-to/snap-guide-flashing-standard-fw-carrier-t3625817
I believe you should be fine by doing flashing from section 1: Standard flashing.

All firmwares for G950U are here. Some are branded some are unlocked. Choose the unlocked one. Do you need full steps?

Thanks for replying.
Yeah sure it'll be really helpful. If ull guide me out.
Facing the same problem, did you find a solution parkarintl?
Download the G950U1 firmware and install it. Should have all the features, no bloat, and faster updates.
Go to Updato.com and search for firmware for G950U1. Download the fw for the XAA variant. Extract all the files, remove .md5 off the end of all the files, flash them with modded Odin. You'll be on fully unlocked firmware and you'll receive future carrier free unlocked updates.
Latest fw: (QH3)

Hi,
Now on the phone:
Model : SM-G955FD
Buildnumber: NRD90M.G955FXXU1AQ19
But it is a S8 Plus with only 1 sim
thnx
That makes no sense?
The SM-G955FD and SM-G955F use the same firmware.
The only way that would happen is if you flashed a SM-955FD specific firmware. it won't cause any problem or affect your device in any way.
But it would help to know exactly what you did while you "were playing" in Odin.
If you tell us which country or carrier you are with, we can find the correct firmware for your device and you can flash that back and it'll be back to how it should be, if you really want to get it back to normal.

yes, but that's the fact, on the pcb it says g950u, and the chipset is detected on PC qualcom, but the cellphone information says g950f and when dial * # 1234 # shows the results like this
but if I use the dial code * # 12580 * 369 # it will address the results like this
then when I use the 'phone info' application the results are like this
So its a950 u. With 950f stuff on it. Probably unlocked and setup to run on a international carrier. The bootloader version of the important one. And what i would go off of
and this test results from 'miracle thunder' addressed the results as shown below
like this
I blinked using the G950u and G950u1 all failed, luckily my cellphone didn't bootloop,
