Hello, I have no problem receiving an LTE signal on BCE (Canada) through the Phone Info Menu. I can select any of the preferred network types including LTE, LTE/GSM, CDMA, LTE/GSM/CDMA but it won't stay. Every day I have to go back into the menu and it reverts back to the first selection "WCDMA".
Does anyone know how to force this so it stays on LTE/GSM/CDMA. So it will stay on the LTE-enabled network unless there is a loss of signal and it reverts back to HSPA? It does this automatically when "LTE/GSM/CDMA is selected, but again reverts to CDMA within a day usually.
I did some searches here, but 99% of what comes up is just people asking how to enable LTE or if their network gets it?
Any ideas? Maybe some sort of macro thing.
Regards.
Add this line in build prob
telephony.lteOnGsmDevice=1
Save
Reboot
Now in settings/more/mobile networks u will have an option to choose and it will stick. U have to add the line every time u flash ROMs.
But I keep iron WC DMA/gsm for better battery speed is OK on h+
Thanks for the helpful reply man. I haven't edited a build.prop yet, so Ill have to check it out.
Alright thats all done now, works like a charm. Like that I have the option now either way. I typically stick to WCDMA/GSM when on the road or at work where LTE is spotty, but on days off for around town I would rather just be on LTE as I usually just looking up something quick when Im shopping or something.
Thanks again.

Nice
I keep it at LTE, it does have less bars but quality is same for me, speeds are amazing. Also 4G is only data, not voice, so when u have an active call it will change to 3G.(but that's not the phone it's the network)
don't forget to do it again if you flash new ROM, also Tethering WiFi won;t work, there is a fix but it's complected for me, so I just go to W/G if I need to share connection.
So, my Nexus 4 shipped today, and it'll be in my grubby little hands by tomorrow evening. I, unfortunately, can't activate it until March, as I have to wait for my Verizon contract to end, but I keep seeing this LTE stuff, with no real explanation. I do know that the Nexus 4 has an inactive LTE radio in it, but what's the use of activating it, if T-Mobile doesn't have LTE? Is this only for the AT&T users?

There are other threads dealing with who can access LTE in the USA. I am in Canada and on Bell.
I'm in Canada, using Fido. I activate the LTE on my Nexus 4. It works fine, but I'm not able to share internet with wifi hotspot.
I have Android 4.2.1 (latest OTA from Google).
There is a bug with this version or it's only because I activate LTE manually ?

what is the fix to get hotspot internet sharing with the Nexus 4 ? Do i have to had a APn for 3G and swith that it to share my connection ?
I'm with the original firmware. Android 4.2.1
process com.android,phone hase stopped working
i recently got a rom from revolt on my n4 and i switched cdma to lte gsm wcdma auto
i also went into build.prop and wrote down telephony.lteOnGsmDevice=1. i went and to setting, more, mobile networks chose the correct setting. so now i got 4G. great i can make calls. GREAT. but i cannot receive calls...
need help with this. im really choked about this ROM
Even if I select "LTE/CDMA" in the Mobile network settings menu. The settings page keeps displaying "CDMA preferred".
Does this mean it didn't work? In quick settings, I see my mobile data connection as 3G Bell.
LTE only seems to work when using the *#*#4636*#*# trick in the Phone app.

Thanks, but LTE doesn't work in my country, its always stick on lte/gsm/wcdma but it doesnt detect my gsm so i have to manually set it on GSM only but wont stick here every time i restart my phone i have manually set it on GSM only otherwise it wont detect my network
Any advice ?
How can I make "WCDMA Only" the default selection?
Where I Iive there is no LTE and the coverage of the service is quite poor, so the phone keeps jumping between E and 3G/H. I have to manually go into the phone app and select "WCDMA Only" is there a build prop tweak to make the "WCDMA Only" the default option instead of "WCDMA Preferred"?
Thank you.

Aah Crap ! Well thanks man saved me from buying on guess i will have to stick with my rezound for now then
fixed it
For everyone still searching for a solution to this problem, this worked for me. Go to phone information and turn your radio off. Then switch to LTE/GSM/CDMA then power down, DO NOT TURN YOUR RADIO BACK ON. Now remove your Sim card, put it back in, reboot and you should be good to go. DO NOT HGO BACK INTO PHONE INFORMATION OR ELSE IT WILL NOT STAY
If it still isn't connecting try fiddling around with your APN settings.
G2 seems to have worse LTE reception compared to few other devices I had, is there anyway to disable LTE and go down to HSPA or HSPA+?
I know my area has terrible LTE coverage, but for some reason it sticks to LTE even if it means I am forced to 0.3mbps speeds! Ouch.

You can disable LTE from the service menu, use the code 5457#*(your phone model here)# And you will find an option there with the bands to do so.You can enable only the ones you want and dissable all others.Dont change anything else tho.I cant tell you exactly where you will find it cause the menu is slightly different for every variant it seems.

Thank you so much, I remember now people were running this trick on Nexus 4, but sadly it did not work. When you say Model here, I just put numbers only right? I got the D800 from AT&T, in dialer I just hit 5457#*800# and hit call, nothing happens, I get invalid MMI error. I tried 5457#800# no luck.
However, using your suggestion, I found the code to access service menu, but it wasn't as clear as I hoped it would be so I did not touch anything.
Code:
AT&T LG G2 D800 Service Menu: 3845#*800#
T-Mobile LG G2 D801 Service Menu: 3845#*801#
Verizon LG G2 VS980 Service Menu: 3845#*980#
Sprint LG G2 LS980 Service Menu: 3845#*980#
I expected on/off switches, but there is WDCMA-Only, LTE-Only, and nothing else. There is no HSPA or HSPA+ only or any switch, and I don't want to hit LTE only assuming that will limit the reception to LTE and I will get stuck with no coverage when there is no LTE.
On Sprint, I can go into data settings via dialer (##3282#), and edit LTE screen (requires service code). From there, I can disable LTE and force CDMA/EvDo. Of course, this is on Sprint variant, not sure how AT&T/T-Mobile does it or whichever carrier you're on.

I also tried *#*#4636#*#* which does not let me go into OEM-Info or any Radio selection.
Why does AT&T do this!?
I believe if you go into settings and go into the mobile networks menu, there is a menu that allows you to choose whether the phone will go into LTE if available or just stay on 4G HSPA+. I'm getting my G2 tomorrow, so I don't remember exactly how I did it when I played with it in the store. If you can't find it, I'll let you know what it is once I get my phone. This is with the T-Mobile G2.

In order of Nice to Naughty,
Sprint
T-Mobile
AT&T
Verizon (wayyyyy low in the list, naughtiest)
So, considering above, I am pretty sure A&T disabled that menu you are referring to (In Mobile Networks) some confirmed it working on Sprint, but I don't think it is available on AT&T. I am stuck with LTE.

Sorry, missed it earlier when you said you were on AT&T. Are you able to go to Settings > Tethering & networks > Mobile networks > Network mode? With the T-Mobile version, there's gsm/wcdma/lte auto, gsm/cdma auto, wcdma only, and gsm only selections under the Network Mode menu. That would really suck if they diabled that setting. I'm assuming you're on stock unrooted.

1. Change with a root explorer of your choice (e.g. Root Explorer, Solid Explorer or EF File Explorer) the value“false”*in file*persist.radio.lteon*into*“true”*by way of build-in text editor of the root explorer. The file is located in root/data/property. Be sure permissions of*persist.radio.lteon*are set to rw, after altering the file save the file and make it read-only. Reboot your phone, now you will see and be able to pick the option* “LTE/WCDMA/GSM *(auto connect)” in Network Mode menu.*Important: before altering ANY file on your phone be sure you have a copy of the original, unaltered file!!!*Advantage of this solution: even after a phone reboot the option* “LTE/WCDMA/GSM *(auto connect)” will remain visible/activated.
2. When you are afraid or not tech-savvy enough to alter phone files you can download*“Advanced Signal Status” on Google Play. Start the app, go into*Advanced Info*located on bottom of the app and subsequent choose *LTE/GSM/CDMA auto (PRL) in the first sub-menu of Advanced Info. Disadvantage of this solution will be that after every phone reboot you have to start “Advanced Signal Status app” and reactivate LTE/GSM/CDMA option.
Please remember that LTE/4G will only work in area’s with LTE and your phone data-plan includes the use of LTE. Good luck and have fun!

So you have LTE mode selected in settings, but it still doesn't go past H+, and you're sure you're in a 4G area?
Firmwares and secret codes aren't going to solve this.
Your provider likely uses a different frequency than the phone supports.
You could simply look up your provider frequencies and check them against the phone specs. If they don't match, game over.

The LTE frequencies for the N9005 are 800/850/900/1800/2100/2600.
T-Mobile US uses 700/1700/1900/(2100)
The 2100 overlaps, but unfortunately T-Mobile US only uses it as a support network. Meaning it's not active by default. 1900Mhz is the main network.

Wait a moment is your SIM is LTE/4G supported?
Some providers only allow you to connect to the 4G, if you have such contract. For example, I am customer of Tele2 in Estonia and I can not use 4G either, because I currently have such contract, which only permits me to use speeds upto HSPA+.

1. make sure your APN is ATT Nextgenphone (should have been auto-configured when you booted phone the first time) 2. Try reseting your network settings (this will remove bluetooth and wifi settings) settings->general management->reset->reset network settings and/or 3.Call ATT and make sure your account is (still) provisioned for LTE. i have the same model as you do and have no problem getting LTE service. picture below shows i'm connecting to LTE Bands 2, 4, 5 & 17.

if you haven't done this already, consider trying another SIM. I'd also post screen shots of your configurations; could be something we've missed in our attempts to help you resolve your issues.
Hi everyone. I have a Leeco Pro 3 X727. I am on Firmware 20s I am having issues to get 4G/LTE signal.
First thing, In my City there is 4G signal, even a couple a days ago I went to my carrier and change my Sim for the newset, just in case.
The last Rom where I had LTE signal IICR was AEX5.4 around May's days. After I changed to CDroid, then to DotsOS... Whatever all I can get its H+ signal. Couple a days ago I change to Carbon Rom 6.1 (Oreos) and the first install, in the configuration I get LTE, but after change to Wifi for finish install all apps, I cant get LTE again. I flashed back Dots, Cdroid and I am now and AEX5.7 and I I have the same issue, just 3G/H+, not LTE or 4G. Also, after flashing firmware 20S I get LTE signal for a While so I think that is not the problem...
I tried almost all APN setting and Nothing. Chang Rom, change Recovery, change Kernel... Nothing just 3g/H+.... My friends with same Carrier have LTE signal...
So, is there anything I can do...? Flash any app, setting?

Help please.

Only use the X7272 5.8.20s firmware - Then you should be able to get it with the correct APN and setting
Don't choose Global, you want the LTE/GSM/UMTS/CDMA setting. If you are still having issues, use the program LTE Discovery or Network Guru.
There are Magsisk
What network are you trying to connect to? What country are you in?
Go to Settings -> Backup & reset -> Network settings reset -> RESET SETTINGS

Nothing. Still "Orange 3G" and conexión icon show H+.
Honestly, I'd say something is wrong with your phone or wrong with your cell towers. The only LTE Band that Orange/Altice supports in DR is B3 (sorta strange that there's only one band, but for a relatively small country I suppose it doesn't matter) and the LEX727 and LEX720 both have band 3, as well as the only GSM(3g)/UMTS(4g) bands that Orange/Altice supports (that being GSM:1800/1900 and UMTS B8 (900GSM)) At first my assumption was that Orange/Altice was a CDMA network, but as far as I can see, there are no CDMA networks in DR!
Edit: download the speedtest app, and see if you're getting the same speeds as a phone that shows it's connected to LTE. If you are, there's no issue besides the phone reporting the connection wrong. If you're slower, though...

Maybe the problem is Orange Altice. The 4G coverage its very new in my city. I al ready tested speed and its 3G 5mb/3mb
Thanks for answering!

Oh! I think I know the issue! When I looked at Orange's website (trying to find network specs, which strangely for a network that supports BYOD, they don't have listed, or at least I couldn't find it) I saw that they have subscribers pay for data, as is standard practice in the US (where I live). But the thing that caught my eye is that you also pay for speed.
So... Let me take a guess here. You pay either RD$1499 Or RD$1349 for their 5mbps unlimited plan?
Basically, my assumption is that if you're paying for one of their lower speed tiers, they put you on a 4g or 3g network to save LTE bandwidth for the people who pay more than you.
Tell me if any of this sounds familiar... I feel like I may've found your problem!

Mmmmm suspect ... actually I have an even lower plan, RD $ 580 (USD$12) and I only use the data when I buy additional packages ... Most times I use Wi-Fi and just use Data when I am not at home/job and the 3G its veeeery looooow speed... Thank bro, that could be the problem.
