i am about to get a clear view case for my phone (S8+) , i have been told that NFC must be on in order to use it's function so i am worried about leaving NFC open all the time , would it drain the battery ?!
One more question can i open the camera by double pressing the power key while the cover is closed ?!
if anyone is using it please give me a feedback , thanks

So if you jailbreak iPhone 5s/6/6plus you can unlock the phone by just putting your finger on the home button without unlocking the screen. Is it possible with some tool in Samsung Galaxy s5 by just swiping the pad without turning the screen on making the phone unlock?
Thanks for answers

I would totally like that if it is possible, and think it won/t use too much battery as if it is only the print sensor on, I hope somebody can help us with this.

Yes its a very awesome feature and I think its possible if some dev looks into it. I dont have S5 atm but I am considering buying the phone if this is possible
As of right now, there is no mod that allows this. but i'm sure sooner or later some dev will get it to work, as the posters above me have already said.

It will take a hit on the battery since this feature will be emulated through software since the hardware restricts it. For that to happen we have to modify the kernel to make the cpu stay awake at all times at low power. It's just like the Double tap to wake feature that is also sort of "emulated".

i have just seen the new s6 has the push fingerprint scanner and after using the note 4 useless interpretation of it will there be any chance of modding the note 4 to do the same or is it totally different hardware involved?
Probably not.

There is no delete button...mods will delete it.

I wouldn't think it would work but if it did that would be awesome!

No way. The note 4 fingerprint scanner is based on a limited line of scanning so need to have a moving finger to scan a whole fingerprint.
S6 and iPhone 6 has a full scale scanner which can read a complete fingerprint.
I wish for the same thing but it is a history. Samsung has change it's sensor manufacturer duo to many complain from user!

Would have actually used the feature.
Anyone know if a rooted phone would bring this much needed feature back?
Hi,
How can I turn off the proximity sensor completly since it is damaged ? During calls the screen goes blank and I cant use the phone. All tips are welcome
Cheers
Is it faulty because of the screen replacement?
If yes, then you can reverse the rubber on the proximity sensor to make it work again.

Yes it got broken during the screen replacement process. That's why I wanted to have the sensor disabled

Has anyone tried this out? I been trying it out for a day seems to work well without to much battery drain. AMOLED in the Play store.

So far so good but its a battery drainer
