I recently switched carriers to Tmobile and couldn't be happier, they also paid the remaining balance on both my v20's
I requested for the phones to be unlocked which they did.
it of course isn't a phone I want to use as my Daily since I got the V30+ but just for the hell of having a backup
I tried my tmo sim card and it worked I just had to set apns.
Last night I decided to reset the phone cause I hate that sprint bootscreen and also wanted it to be fresh.
I tried putting the Tmo sim card again and now it won't even recognize the sim is in..
So anyone with more experience would or could point me to make it work again ??
I would really appreciate any feedback
thanks!!
No one??
Did you just do a standard factory reset?

Yes!
Settings/backupand restore/factory reset..
And I also cleared the attached Data profile from Sprint with a ##code
Does the t mobile SIM card you're trying to use work in any other device? Ensure that SIM isn't just worn out from you taking it out and inserting it into phones by trying it in another phone. Also confirm the phone sees the Sprint SIM when that one is in. Pay attention to how both SIMs sit in the phone to see if you can see one of them sitting slightly further into the phone or something like that. I'm not sure how you expected your boot to not have a Sprint logo on startup if you did a factory reset though because as far as I know that's just part of the stock OS bootup, even if the phone is running a different carrier.

THIS is the stupid world of Sprint. This is what exactly happened to two LG XPowers I had with Sprint. My GSM SIMs worked great with the XPowers until I reset the device to factory settings or that the device went through a security update. You unfortunately have to get Sprint involved with the unlocking process from their end. And getting Sprint to do something? Good luck with that.
Had I not been getting unlimited free service from Sprint I would have left it some time ago and it's not for their phone or data service, but unlocking devices that is a pain in the ass!

Yes The boot logo goes away when you reset the phone..
When it activates then u get the sprint logo.
The sim card I used work just fine on another phone, I actually thought the same thing you mentioned but nothing.
And yes indeed the sprint sim card reads just fine just no service.
Thanks for your willingness and suggestions though

I believe I've bricked my Ozone. It powers on and stays at the HTC screen. I've done a factory rom update with no success. What are my options? Is there anyone on the forum that offers repair?
I'm in the same boat. Got a Verizon Ozone from a someone who decided that the phone was dead for good. It would be nice to get it up and running though as I'm kind of in need of a smartphone at the moment.
What I've heard is that all he tried to do was the official 6.5 upgrade but, in the words of Dr. House: everybody lies. The bootloader reads SPL-0.44.0000 and I've been able to flash the official 6.5 CEDAIMG.nbh from an sd card but nothing changes there either; it just sits at the first HTC screen.
Of all the options I've read about, the last is a goldcard but I have also read that the Ozone/Cedar doesn't have one yet. Is that worth looking into? Any ideas what's actually going on with the phone that makes it hang?
Hit the back button... sorry for the double post. =)
That's pretty much what happened to mine. I called HTC and sent the phone in for repair.
Keep this post updated as to how that goes. If it works out, I might give them a call too. Were you covered by any sort of warranty? Any big hurdles to jump over to get them to replace the device? Any cost to you?
Fingers crossed that it works out!
So far I believe it's covered under warranty. They called me Monday and asked for the factory sim card to repair it. I wonder if it needs the sim card in to do a factory rom install? I should hear back soon.
Hmm... That's kind of weird. I wouldn't think they would need it. =/ I just called PCD today and got the address for sending my mobile in with instructions to remove all cards. Hopefully someone else gets assigned mine. =)
My friend didn't dig up the SIM since I'm planning on using the phone between Washington and Vancouver, B.C. so, hopefully they don't ask for it in my case!
Thanks for the update!
Don't ship UPS. I did, and they charged me $16 - said it was because of their address.
Well, I'm off to the Post Office to send this thing to NY. Hopefully the turnaround time is reasonable and if they can't/won't actually fix it, I can get it back in case xda discovers anything out about this problem.
Let me know if you hear anything else about you phone.
I got mine back today. According to the paper work they had to replace the phones main board. This thing is bone stock. It's carrier locked too, I don't know how to unlock it. I can't program it because it wants me to press the send key to activate which dials *228. But I need to dial *22890. Dunno how to do this when it won't let me dial anything.
Time to try to do a non factory rom and brick it again!
I think it took about 3 weeks. Did you send yours with the sim card just in case they need it?
Did any ozone users try the new verizon 6.5 rom to fix the bricking?
I did. No luck.
I can deal with 3 weeks if need be... glad to hear your phone is back though! Are you on Verizon? I assume so if you're dealing with an Ozone but can never be too sure. =) What do you mean by "carrier locked"? Are you refering to the SIM slot? The stock Ozone comes locked to their Vodaphone SIM and you have to call Verizon or pay for an unlock code. If they changed the mainboard then it's probably like a brand new phone. HTC Snap on VZW Sim Unlock
I actually don't have a SIM attached to my account right now since I moved back to my old phone and the card is boxed up somewhere... =/ If they ask for it, I'll just be telling them that I don't have plans to be using it and will SIM unlock the phone when I go to the Phillipines. My phone just hit NY so, I'll let you know what happens to me!

Totally didn't catch this question up above! Yeah, I did also... using both the USB and SD card methods. The bootloader looked like it worked just fine but when the phone would go to boot for the first time, it would freeze at the first HTC screen. I mentioned this in another thread but the Sprint Snap apparently had an issue with similar symptoms which resulted in a hotfix from HTC..
I unpacked it and it looks like just a PRL. If only there was a hotfix like this for the Ozone; would have saved me a bit of time.
As the title suggests, my phone is coming up with "No SIM Inserted" warnings, and forces me to restart two or three times to get the problem to go away. This happens pretty much daily, at the minimum.
Restarting takes an annoying amount of battery and time, so it's a bit of a pain. The SIM eventually works, but it's not a good sign.
Since the card eventually works, I'd imagine that this is some sort of Firmware issue? My internet is horrible, so downloading it from sammobile would take forever. So I thought that I'd come get your guys opinion on it first on whether it's a hardware issue, or a software issue.. I've noticed a lot of other phones (such as the S4) having this issue, and I'm wondering if anyone has had any experience on fixing it?
It's unrooted so it's still under warranty.
Cheers,

First thing I would try is clean the sim card then factory reset with the sim inserted. I had to do this with mine (once) but thought it was just a glitch so never posted about it. After that I'd try another sim to test the handset or replace the sim card if it was the same.
Had this problem in one of my older phones, can't remember which.
At some point your SIM will stop working altogether and reboots just won't fix it anymore.
I contacted my provider and asked for a new SIM and that solved my problem.
I think it's worth getting a new SIM, or at least trying with a different one.

I'm not sure how I'd clean it, exactly. So I just sorta blew on it, and the tray. If it happens again I'll probably just get a new SIMcard.

The SIM is barely a year old, so it's a bit of a pain if I'll have to get a new one. However, it'd cost me nothing to get a new one, anyway.
Thanks a lot for your input. It only started happening about a week or two ago, so it probably is the SIM.

When I had that issue, it was with a few days old SIM, sometimes they're just defective. I know what you mean about the hassle though.

Clean the SIM with a pencil eraser.
Hey everyone, My dad got his sim locked Verizon galaxy s5 G-900V unlocked a year back and it was working great with his T-mobile sim card. Until few weeks ago when he started to experience that his signal kept dropping and anytime he made calls he got this message on the other line stating ""your account is not authorized to make calls to this phone number "" and this one as well """your phone is not activated to activate your phone please press n key""" . This problem kept persisting until he only could make calls a few times a day because he wasn't getting any signal. I thought that a factory reset might fix the problem but after I did that to my surprise the phone sim-locked back itself to Verizon , I also noticed that if you try and make a call with the locked phone it gives the same message about the phone not being activated like before. So my questions is why did the factory reset sim-lock a phone that was already unlocked and second any idea what was the cause of those messages that prevented the phone to make calls and the fact that they are the exact same messages you get when you are making a call with a incorrect sim card with a sim locked phone.
Bump ... Anyone ???
how was the device unlocked?

Its been over a year. I dont think they will allow that. I always thought that when I phone was unlocked it was unlocked im surprised that after a year of using it one reformat would cause it to sim lock
Good morning, my phone card suddenly stopped working on the network a few months ago. I believe I may have disabled some things here and there the night prior, I can't remember. I was moving from Germany to the U.S. the next day, so I had alot on my mind. This is the European variant (SM-G935F). I have tried 3 different SIM cards, one from German T-Mobile and two from Verizon in the U.S. to no avail. I have posted screenshots showing what it says I have for signal. Every once in a while it pops up with a message saying SIM card refreshing or something like that. I have tried putting a piece of paper by the SIM card because possibly the contacts were lose and I also factory reset my phone but nothing works. To send it back to Germany to have them fix it is very expensive and also I don't want to try and interpret everything. I have done that for the last 3 years and would probably end up signing a lease for a car with my limited German language skills. Any thoughts? The phone is perfect other than this issue and I am about to put it on Ebay if I can't get it squared away.
Thanks in advance for any thoughts!

did you try to root it and put the bootloader and firmware of t mobile or verizon?
I haven't tried that because I wanted to keep it unroofed if I needed to sell it on eBay. I might try that as a last step before I sell it though
try to flash your phone with smartswitch or odin with original rom if you are skilled, reset seems cannot recover all your settings.
I am having a bug that has baffled Samsung, T-mobile and at&t and I figured I would try coming here for help.
I bought a s8 off of the app letgo. It was carrier locked to t-mobile. So we met at a tmobile and he paid off the rest of his contract then tmobile said that the phone would be eligible for unlock. So I took the phone home and got it unlocked by calling tmobile customer support. It worked for like an hour. Then I realized that there was an ota update for the phone, so I decided to download it. When I downloaded it it said removing tmobile apps. So I thought awesome no more bloat wear, I okayed it then left it to update. When I came back the phone was stuck in a bootloop with the at&t logo showing up instead of the tmobile one (I had an att sim card in at the time of the update). I booted into recovery mode and factory reset the phone. Now in the developer settings it lists demo phone and the baseband version is unknown as is the imei. I took it to att, they said they had never heard of something like that happening, and to contact tmobile, so I went to tmobile and they said they had never seen it ever, then I went to samsung and they said to go to tmobile and I have just been looping between the two saying that there is nothing they can do. So I pretty much have a mint condition phone that I can't use on a network because something got corrupted or the wrong software got installed during the ota update. Is there any thing you guys can think of that could make it so my phone actually works. Also I know it isn't stolen because I have checked the imei with tmobile and samsung, and I watched the guy I bought the phone from pay off the rest of his bill in front of me.
Thank you in advance for any of your help.
