Hello.
Here is my problem. I bought a Galaxy S5 (SM-G900H) Internationally Unlocked. I bought it in a foreign country than the one I live in.
I came back to my country and I inserted my SIM card and it worked perfectly - Calls and Mobile Data worked properly.
My issue started last week (exactly on Wednesday) when the Mobile Data suddenly stopped working.
I've tried everything. Toggling on/off the mobile data, toggling on/off the airplane mode, restoring the APN settings (I even went to customer service for the APN config and it still does not work, they told me they did not know what was happening). I also did a Factory Reset and Firmware Update (5.0 Lollipop).
My phone is unlocked as it worked before.
This is very frustrating.
Help, please?
Not cool.
Thanks for nothing.

Download Kies from the Samsung site to repair.
And you should be more patient. A new version (Lollipop) just came down and is probably the reason everyone is flocking to other threads.

Thanks in advance.

First, try going into recovery (volume up/power/home buttons as it starts) and use the factory reset.
If that doesn't work, use your original cable to connect to the computer. Wait for Kies to show it connected. Tools/Firmware installation and initialization. This will install unrooted latest build of stock.
Same happened to me
Did you solve this issue? I have two g900h that have the exact same problem since last week. I'm unable to fix them with anything...
I have an unlocked version that I converted to verizon by changing the CID and flashing the stock verizon RRU. For some reason I cannot activate advanced calling on the device. VOLTE calls will not work as well. My SIM is from a VZW s7 edge with advanced calling enabled that works fine on it. When i swap the sim to the HTC and go to the advanced calling it wants me to activate then says it is already activated on my account but will not make volte calls.
Anyone have any suggestions? I've reflashed etc. Removed advanced calling etc. If i removed advanced calling from my line, then try to activate it on the HTC it gives me an error and wont activate through the device. I assume because its not in their system.
Can i force on VOLTE? Should I have put the sim in later or something?

Remove it from your account. Factory reset the phone after a fresh ruu. Then activate from the phone and the phone only.

Should i factory reset from inside the OS or from the bootloader? And also should I leave my SIM in it the entire time, or after ive got it set up and booted to the OS?

Boot loader. Since the sim is already provisioned leave it in.

I had no luck with the methods above. I even went into the store, the issued me a new sim. I told the guy about the phone and how it was unlocked but It had the official VZW software. He helped me out but we could still not get VOLTE to work on the Unlocked version of the phone. We tried removing it from my account and readding etc. No luck. Looks like I'm just going to return it and maybe buy the VZW version and have Jcase s-off it/bootloader unlock it.
Have you tried putting the sim back in the old phone and turning advanced calling off from there?

i tried that, no go!
I was having similar issues when i was being adventurous and freezing as many system apps as possible. not sure if you've been doing that
Hey all! I have made the switch to a Nexus 6P about a year ago, so I am quite rusty with the S5 and how to do things with it. I recently sold an S5 on swappa, and I am attempting to help that user get it back to stock. I would have done this before selling, but we thought the process would have been more simple.
To quote the user I am assisting at the moment "... I crossed into canada a few days ago, phone worked good with international plan. cross back to US and keep getting weird "not registered on network" messages and have 0 connectivity to my Verizon phone network. Tried new sim card, verizon store says the issue is because it is rooted etc (doubt they know what they are talking about)....But figured i'd do a clean install etc and see what happens. Followed instructions for Odin. From what i read it sounds like I need the OA 8 Lollipop retail tar..phone model number is SM-G900V. Keep getting "NAND Write Start!! FAIL! (Auth)" in Odin. Tried multiple USB cables and other random tips I found online. Any advice? Am I using the wrong stock tar?"
What can I/we do to resolve this issue? I have searched xda, but I am totally lost with the S5 to be honest. Things have changed so much since I used the phone that I have no idea where to start. It was on Alliance ROM before I shipped it. It has the Toshiba eMMC (or whichever doesn't have bootloader unlock).
Again, thanks in advance guys!
Some more info about the phone, I'm the buyer.
Still running Alliance. I do have an IMEI # (some sites say that could be an issue).
Model/Phone name is Samsung Galaxy S5 SM-G900V
Baseband Version is G900VVRU2BOK3
Kernel Version: 3.4.0 [email protected] #1
Tue Nov 17 20:06:51 KST 2015
Build number: AllianceROM_VZW_V10_G900V_XXU1BOH4
Knox version 2.3
Exact message I get is "out of service area" when i make a call. then a "mobile network not available" message will pop up after.

Silly question, but have you tried pulling the battery, and Sim, let it sit for a sec, then power on to see if you have service? Might just need to reset the prl. Never been to Canada with the phone so idk what's going on ha.
Could also check the data settings to make sure it's set to CDMA+LTE instead of global or whatever other options it has. You haven't flashed a new radio file, have you? @miketon907

Pulled battery out and sim. No service fix. If I turn phone on with sim card out, it will say "no sim card". back sim card back in, no net work connection....It is set to CDMA+LTE. No, I have not flashed a radio file.

Ok, just trying to rule things out.
You activated the SIM in the US and used it before going to Canada, right?
Yep. so Sim card A which I got after buying the phone was working good. I went to Canada and used same sim card on international plan, went back to US and suddenly phone loses mobile connection and has no service as soon as I cross US border. went to Verizon for sim card B, sim card B does not work either.

You could try just doing a factory reset on recovery if you haven't already. Instead of starting from stock. Just wipe the data partition. If you wipe the system partition it won't have anything to boot into
oh. Well i'll try that later tonight. Report back around 11pm est. thanks!

Try flashing one of the modems on this page. It should reset the radio to have service again. I'd do it without the sim card in. Boot once, you obviously won't have service since there isn't a sim. Then turn off the device, insert the SIM and reboot.
I am looking into the write fail now just in case you can't even flash a modem file.
Also, you downloaded the samsung drivers, correct?
EDIT: I found an old thread that might help you troubleshoot odin - http://forums.androidcentral.com/sa...hacks/391849-galaxy-s5-odin-failing-root.html
EDIT 2: You might just have to switch to a different tar file. This user states that they used the same stock version as the one they were currently on. I'd give that a shot first. Then check to make sure "block reactivation" in security settings isn't checked. The exact directions that should get you going are from a user on that page, as follows;
"chainfire xda quote op-Follow these instructions to the letter. Do not touch any buttons or checkboxes that are not listed below to touch!
- Download and unzip the CF-Auto-Root-....zip file (see posts below this one)
- If you end up with a recovery.img and cache.img file, you've extracted twice. You need to end up with a .tar.md5 file - don't extract that one
- (USB) Disconnect your phone from your computer
- Start Odin3-vX.X.exe
- Click the PDA button, and select CF-Auto-Root-....tar.md5
- Put your phone in download mode (turn off phone, then hold VolDown+Home+Power to boot - if it asks you to press a button to continue, press the listed button, or run adb reboot download command)
- (USB) Connect the phone to your computer
- Make sure Repartition is NOT checked
- Click the Start button
- Wait for Android to boot
- Done (if it took you more than 30 seconds, you need practise!)
NOTE: Sometimes the device does *not* boot into recovery mode and root your device. Just do the entire procedure again if this happens. If it still will not install root and such, make sure that in Odin "Auto Reboot" is not checked. Then after flashing, pull the battery, and boot with VolUp+Home+Power button to boot into recovery manually. This will start the install process.
New to Samsung? Unfamiliar with Odin? Think all the above is a hassle? Get used to it. It's very simple, and us Samsung folk use Odin (or Mobile ODIN ) for everything! It's so very very convenient once you get used to it. Notice the 30 second comment above? For experienced users, the entire process indeed takes only 30 seconds!" - Dale Borrelli
Final note. Try the tar for the android version you are currently on first, then go up to the version you'd like to be on.
Edit: @miketon907 any luck yet?
yes, thanks a lot. flashing the modem worked. have service now again.
I just upgrade my Nokia 6(TA-1000) to official Android 8.0.0 (Oreo).
Then my Cellular network won't work anymore.
I live in Hong Kong, using sim card service "CMHK".
I think it is LTE/WCDMA mode.
Tried "*#*#4636#*#*" and changing the settings.
But the connection always shown IPv4: Failed(2)
The phone notification show it is connected and running 3G network.
But the upload/download speed is always 0KB/s.
Reset to factory setting already.
Before upgrade Android everything work fine.
Anyone have the same problems?
Now, what can i do....?
It seems I can't even downgrade my Android.
Only, have to wait for next update and hope it will fixed?
I think i am screwed.

I use official update.
All firmware should be correct?
BTW, I get a new sim card from ISP but cellular network still not working.
Also, tried both sim card slot 1 and slot 2 nothing work.
May be new system not compatible with my SIM card service only which is "CMHK" aka "中國移動香港".
Hope next update will fix that...

NOKIA 6
hi,
i updated my nokia 6 TA-1000 to oreo update.
i faced many issues like lte not working.
in battery saver mode launcher is stopping suddenly.
it is not detecting the sim correctly.
i didnt get network signals correctly.
Then i tried to hard reset my mobile ,after complete reset and after rebooting it stopped at language selection,i clicked lets go many times but it is not working .it got stucked there.
is there anyway to get rid of it.i asked for nokia chat support but they are asking me to take mobile to nearest service center.
if there is any solution please guide me with it .thank you in advance.
I just turn off the cellular network yesterday.
After I wake up from bed, my phone Google service can not connect from wifi(can't use email, Google store).
BUT! After reinsert my sim card and turn back on cellular network, everything working now.
Both 4G cellular and Google service all good.
May be some part of the network is cached.
So, if you encounter this problem just turn off cellular network and wait.

It seems that, the old slot 1 cached your sim card.
So, you change to slot 2 work, but you can't use SD card.
And I found that if you wait a long time the cache will clear.
You can try to insert sim card back to slot 1 after 1-2 days.

The only option was left to flash stock firmware, but as it updated to oreo, its bootloader has also been updated so I will suggest you to wait for official oreo firmware to release, please don't try to downgrade your device for now, it can brick your device very badly, keep patience, if any solution will come out, we will definitely tell you

Thank you for raising this question. My phone got the same problem. I am just wondering if I should send it to maintenance center but I guess they will just do reset.
And by saying "turn off cellular network and wait for 1-2 days", do you mean by just turning off the data usage, or turning it to flight mode/ turning the phone.

Yes, any Sprint stock-based ROM should work. I activated my LS997 on ClassicRom, so I can recommend that one. After that, you should be able to return to/restore your LineageOS if desired.
I've activated with ClassicROM and get LTE but voice not working. Called Sprint and they can't get voice to work. We tried network reset, update profile and ## something to reset. Does something need to be reprogrammed?

All I did on mine was turn on both WiFi and data and then dial the carrier reset code (I think it was ##72786#). Then, shortly after restarting and booting up, the hands-free activation pop-up would automatically come in and finish the setup, and everything would work. Without the hands-free activation, you would do profile update, followed by PRL update. Not sure why voice is not working for you.
As far as I can tell, there seem to be only two differences between my phone and yours: 1) I'm on a Sprint MVNO, not post-paid Sprint itself (should not be an issue, same overall network); 2) Mine has never had LineageOS installed. Perhaps there is some odd issue when going between LOS and Stock.

Sadly, I don't know of a way. I wonder if somehow whatever part that launches the activation is disabled on your phone. All I know is that it only pops up shortly after the phone boots up. I have an identical backup LS997 that I bought used and haven't activated. That one still gets the pop-up within a minute of booting up every time even though I keep it in airplane mode.
If you had a LGUP dump from when you rooted the phone, restore it in TWRP and reboot. Else, backup your current firmware files with LGUP -> flash a VS995/US996 KDZ to restore key firmware files -> regain root with DirtySanta -> flash runningnak3d's ZV7 firmware package (or restore your backup from earlier) -> flash a stock image. The dirtysanta thread has a ZV3 unrooted ROM, and there's a pure ZV3 system.img floating around that you can dd to your system partition.
