Hi Guys!
Sorry, I couldnt find any problem similar to mine regarding note 3.
Device: N900W8 Canadian (Rogers)
TLDR: After flashing a rom a second time (First time was perfect) phone says its in factory mode and now stock lockscreen doesnt work at all no matter what settings. In factory mode wifi is one of the settings it says isnt suppose to work but it does work, and Im extra confused.
Steps leading to the problem:
- Rooted using cf auto root
- twrp to backup entire stock rooted rom
- flashed Darthstalker v6
- phone works flawlessly, except with gps issues which I suspected was not a rom issue
- decided to test it out anyways, tried to restore my stock rooted backup but for some reason failed (Honestly have no idea why)
- flashed Darthstalker v6 again, complete clean install to see if GPS fixes itself
Phone now boots up normally, but on first boot up it showed a short popup that disappears shortly saying something like this
"Factory mode is ON, in this mode some settings such as wifi may not work blah blah blah"
Thing is, it does work, so far the only difference that I see from this mode is that I cant have a lock screen no matter what setting I put on it. Right now forced to use an alternative lockscreen (Go locker).
Just flashed Jedi Elite v5 yesterday, same issue as above, but everything else is working fine...
Thanks for the help guys!
I suspect it is and EFS thing, but I dont know what that is.
I used root explorer to look in the folder and nothing seems to be inside (Even when selecting to view hidden files and folders)
Unfortunately since my original stock root backup did not work I have no way of restoring the original. If you think this is the issue can someone point me in the right direction to get my EFS folder proper? Currently I only see Backup/restore options. Not the full EFS folder that I think I might need.
Two more things I noticed
- 4 way reboot doesnt work, it just turns off the phone
- when playing youtube "An error occurred" appears for maybe 10 seconds and disappears. Video is playing in the background so its pretty annoying.
Download this file by firasusman and flash thru recovery. Don't know if the lockscreen will come back but if it doesn't reinstall whichever rom you have right now to fix the broken file.
Help please! I flashed an S5 port ROM onto my Note 3 which ran well, then I decided to go back to stock and tried to flash the latest stock Telstra (Australia) ROM via Odin and got weird process failed errors after first boot on my N9005 model.
Decided to try a custom ROM again which loads OK, but the phone isn't right. It doesn't respond correctly when I press the power button, and when it does, I swipe to unlock but 80% of the time it doesn't respond. It also seems to randomly vibrate every now and then. Something is really screwed up with it. I've tried flashing the latest SweetRom and also the S5 port I had on there before but they both have the same issue. Camera isn't working properly, the app loads but doesn't show an image and eventually says "media server failed. camera needs restart". This is on the S5 ROM
Did flashing the S5 ROM update something on the phone to a newer version which I've screwed up trying to go back to the Telstra ROM? I am doing a full wipe of cache/system/dalvik before flashing as well. The stock ROM is completely unusable, I can't proceed through the setup wizard because I get an endless loop of process failure error prompts. With custom ROMs I can at least get through the setup wizard but the phone isn't functioning right.
Video I recorded below after a clean flash of SweetRom which should make the issues easier to understand,
So I've just done some experimenting and flash an AOSP ROM (Liquid Smooth) and have NO issues, even the camera works perfectly. Phone locks and unlocks instantly. I'm completely stumped as to why this is only happening on Samsung ROMs
This has been fixed, I flashed N9005XXUGNG1_N9005OXAGNG1_N9005XXUGNG1_HOME.tar.md5 via Odin and my phone is working perfectly now
Hello, so I got an s4 GT-I9505 that had a cracked screen so I fixed it.
Phone booted as it should and worked fine for few minutes, then things started to crash (statusbar, touch wiz home), it starts to lag and behave very weird so I decided to do factory reset - same stuff happened.
So I flashed CM12 everything works fine besides the fact I dont have sound.
So I flashed back to stock using odin and pit file, it boots to stock sometimes it has sound and sometimes it doesn't, also it crashes like it used to after few minutes and reboots to bootloop.
I flashed CM12 again so I can use the phone somehow, but whenever I go into the AudioFx app it crashes so do other apps that need sound either crash or lag.
What is the issue? I'd love to stick to stock rom but I cant use it as it keeps crashing.
How do I fix this problem it's important for me to have this phone working.
Did you do full wipe before flashing?and is the screen original or chinese?
Try a custom stock rom.

I don't really know, got it on ebay for 50 pounds. And I did a full wipe using the stock recovery.
Possible loose connection somewhere?
Flash twrp and then wipe all..make wipe data/factory reset, wipe cache, wipe system, wipe dalvik cache and wipe data.all these from advanced wipe.then turn off phone and put it in dowload mode.then flash stock rom using odin.this is the cleanest way to flash rom.maybe in system is something from cm and messes up with stock.as for the sound it may be from the screen.some chinese screens make phones lag, even not boot up.
I forgot to add that I get sound at the boot animation but after that no sound at all
I have installed costum rom F14 on the 4.4.2 android version. It makes the modified boot noise and the sound works for for a few minutes, only sometimes but.
Anybody?
This is on two standard Galaxy S5's, with standard ROM, etc - not rooted, or anything else.
Every time I turn off WiFi, or enable Mobile Hotspot, I get 'Unfortunately System UI has stopped'.
To fix I have to Power off/on the phone.
(Turning on WiFi is no problem, just turning it off.)
I have gone into 'Safe Mode', and same issue, so it looks to not be a bad App.
I have also uninstalled 'Google' updates, and again no change...
Any thoughts?
All of a sudden my S5 showed the exact same error message for no aparent reason... I didn't do anything, and now I can't use my phone at all because of that bug. It happens on every boot so I can't even unlock my phone. Tried reinstalling everything, ROM, recovery, kernel, with/without root = still same, what just happened here??
EDIT: Same thing if I'm in Safe Mode -_-
Seeing noone knows a solution here's what I did yesterday.
1. Backed up all my stuff from internal storage to the sd card
2. Did factory reset in TWRP recovery
3. Flashed completely stock official firmware from Samsung
4. Waited for it to boot up and try to restore some of my settings (it restored all folders on their places, made same amount of home screens as I had before the reinstall and downloaded all of my previously installed apps from the Play Store, ofcourse without the cracked ones, and it also restored most apps' data as well so it's not as bad as you may think to factory reset and reinstall everything)
5. Started rooting, flashing TWRP again, installing Dolby Audio, Xposed and everything I had before, took me one full day to set it up as it was before.
Now when I set it up I always make a nandroid backup from when things are working fine, in case it goes crazy for no reason again... Good luck!
when the wifi radio is acting weird, a dirty flash of your current ROM susually fixes is as its probably a radio issue. Id do that before doing anything drastic like the boot-n-nuke Odin flash and starting from scratch (which will fix that issue)
I don't think I have a ROM issue, as I have two S5's, and both have the same issue... and both are standard ROMs.
I will do a factory re-set on one at some point, but this looks to be a 'simpler' issue.
I have tried a full Cache delete, as well as other 'clean' processes.
Nothing works.
I tried to re-flash my stock ROM as @youdoofus said but still had that annoying popup. Try everything you can think of, if all else fails, reset.

well, you can wipe cache, and dalvik 3x each (not kidding about the 3x each), then dirty flash the rom, pray to the gods of android, reboot. If failure occurs, its Odin Nuke time unless you want to try to flash an individual radio file by itself (not recommended)
After installing the recovery replacement TWRP my camera and my display settings (e.g. brightness, adding red tint, etc, etc..) don't work anymore.
The display settings simply don't do anything, you can change them but they have no effect. I tried changing the brightness from TWRP and this did work.
The camera app just crashes instantly. I tried downloading another random camera app from the Play Store and this one instantly crashed as well.
Model number: SM-G950F
On another note, would I not be able to solve the problem: I just bought this device and thus have the right to return it within 14 days. However, I obviously don't want the retailer to know that I flashed recovery. Would they boot into recovery, I'd like to get it back to the stock Android recovery, is there any way to do this?
To restore the stock recovery, you can try using Smart Switch for PC.
It will allow you to restore the original device software, which I believe also includes the stock recovery.
