I put all my animation speeds to 1.5 seems smoother more like a pixel device I feel they made the animations a little too snappy

I too noticed that animations were to quick. Maybe installing Pixel launcher would automatically give you proper animations without the needing to adjust it?

I have the pixel 2 launcher installed already I just like it slowed down slightly so I can and enjoy the animation and it seems to transition smoother setting them at 1.5. if we had 1.25 that might even be a sweet spot

I am trying to do it at the moment, but need to ask you. Did you set all 3 settings to 1.5x or only the 1st one?

I set all 3 of them and I also noticed that Oreo Beta 2 seems to be smoother than Nougat

I am on Android 7 and setting "transition effect" to 1.5x does make it smoother, but setting other 2 to the same 1.5x, didn't show any difference. At the moment I just set it "transition" to 1.5x and possibly as you mention that Oreo might handle transitions better. I had Pixel 2 recently and it was on 8.1, so maybe that is why transition setting felt just right

Wow. Setting animations to 1.5 worked. I'm impressed with the improved smoothness.

I don't think I have noticed this posted anywhere yet...
take a look at this UI (homescreen replacement?) soon to be released on Android:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ys7gua-noOE
it's buttery smooth!
i think shells suck..spb on my nexus?no i had it on p3300 a few years ago..
I'd definitely use this.
yeah ..i'd like to use that too ...
what really caught my attention was that the transitions and animations were silky smooth -- to the point that I doubted whether the video was 'real', or if it was just computer generated imagery!
Certainly impressive, but it's a bit overdone in my opinion. When every single element is glassy with gradients and reflections etc it really makes it look cluttered.
Personally I'd like to see more black in these interfaces, running a SAMOLED screen the black just merges into the bezel beautifully, giving the impression that there are no edges.
But as said above, I'm impressed at how smoothly it runs, considering I sometimes get stuttery animations on the standard interface.
That is really nice looking. Was that a stock android ROM or a new interface?

Yeah I signed up to beta test this a while ago, but wasn't picked. It looks really cool and all, and I would definitely try it out, but it might be a little much for standard everyday use. Maybe not..guess we'll see. It would definitely be useful to show off my nexus s to people lol

i don't think it's an entire rom ... it's probably just a UI shell ..an 'add-on' that sits on top of the standard rom ..
not sure though .. we'll have to wait until it releases to the public

Nexus S - cm7
Been using this for a couple of days and really loving it. I initially thought it was a bit overdone too but it actually works. I can totally use this as a daily driver.
Lucky enough to be chosen for the beta. Not sure if I'm allowed to share the APK. If someone can clarify that for me then I'll gladly post it.
I've been using it for awhile now, too. It has been my daily launcher since I got it. Very smooth.

Battery drain is very minimal. I installed this over CM7 and the stats read that currently it's using 3%.
Don't think you're gonna notice any sort of decrease at all.

Are you guys using the stock launcher or nova/apex? I've stuck with stock so far cause the performance is great but I was thinking about installing Nova for the extra features and what not. How is the performance on Nova/apex for those that are using them?
I use Apex and it works nicely

Sweet. Just as smooth as stock?
I'm a huge fan of Nova on my Nexus 7 but don't find that it looks particularly good on the 10. The issue is the the smallest dock height is way too tall so the icons get scaled up and do the look sharp. Once I figure out how to solve that I'll go back to the Nova.

I only use a single home page, so I wouldn't know
Using Apex. Got rid of all widgets on both launchers and they're evenly smooth. Apex's transition speed is a lot faster, so it may look like it's getting "caught" and then moving quickly. I slowed down the transitions, and they look more or less the same now.
I want 3 home screens and use a few widgets so not good for me, which is annoying as you can't lower the number of stock home screens.
Thought I'd tried adw already, have full version of that too. Was sure it was worse than apex/nova but I shall give it a try later.
Used to use it on my s3 until jelly bean. Not sure if it's the jelly bean optimisation or what? but to me nothing runs as smooth as stock since jb on both my devices, even TW!

It always took me about 2 seconds to get auto rotation respond on my Nexus 7
Is there any way to tweak it faster?
I think it's not the laggy problem but some system settings like response time or sampling time
I've googled this but nothing's found and no apps I found can do this
thanks for answering

I honestly think this is normal.
It took about 2 seconds delay before it start rotate here too. I think it normal but honestly I want it a bit lower delay like 1 second for example it would be a perfect delay for me.
Both of my Nexus 7 and Galaxy S II rotates in exactly 1 second.

I'm actually on SmoothRom now. It could be dependent on the rom, but I'm not too sure.

I don't know if that will help, i have my animations set to .5 and it still takes the same amount of time, if i remember correctly there is no known way to speed it up, even though i wish we could.

Had my Note 4 for a week now & have been using Nova all the time & wondered what are you using Stock Or 3rd party?
So join in let us all know what your using & why & vote too.
I prefer stock
May be because i think it clear and app drawer can easily edited

Very limited customization with touchwiz, so I am using Nova Launcher.
The only thing I missed is the S Calendar widget
Nova.
Dont miss anything in TW. Used TW only a day or too. Dont like the look and the controls.

Android apps are installed in raw format. Dalvik engine has to cook app every time we run it. ART (Android RunTime) on the other hand bakes app permanently, henceforth they run faster.
I use the Google Now launcher. Simple, but since I use Google Now quite a bit, i just prefer it.

currently downloading, 1330MB update
Definitely smoother and a new keyboard feature for Gifs..new logo designs make it look nicer, you can list apps in the background instead of just thumbnails, settings menus have been updated, it's kinda like an overall tweak to everything we already have.
