maybe because the Korean version is already released, it has a newer version witch supports this feature, and the intl' will also support it.
but its not based on anything.. only me :cyclops:
I also think that the craftsmen will find a way)
That will be really disappointing if its only on the Korean Note 2.
After watching the videos of it yesterday I was definitely going to purchase the Galaxy Note 2 on launch day in the UK. But if its not a supported feature in the EU/N7100 models then I think I will hold off.
The multiscreen feature is also available in hong kong's note 2, which is an international version.

This looks awesome. However when I was watching it I was thinking "Sweet!!! I can finally answer texts while browsing the internet!" But after looking at the apps in the side bar I didn't see sms in there. So I wonder what apps will be supported in this feature and if it will be possible to incorporate mods to get other apps to work.
That's an awesome feature. Hopefully the international version also has this.
But if it doesn't has, i still go for the Note II

I just posted a question in Q&A section, asking whether the note 2 will rotate home screen to landscape with stock launcher? Anyone know for sure?

Sms is present as an option. in the first video, i can see the sms icon below the gallery icon. Samsung should be highlighting that feature because it brings a desktop like view to the note. Definitely ordering now. was going to wait to see the new nexus and features of the next version of Android, but this just sealed the decision.

My mistake, I'm using 'ultimate rotation control'.
It works great on my galaxy note 1.
One of the big reasons I'm using it is it allows 180 degree rotation so I'm not always hitting the capacitive buttons.

That is an amazing feature but of all the Note 2 videos I have seen, it's the first one I have seen that has that (half-circular) tab on the left side of the screen. Looks like it's brought up by holding the 'back button'. I wonder if its just that no one knows about this 'shortcut' to open this feature. Or could this be an updated version of TouchWiz we are seeing?
I think you can enable the multi-window from the settings, because it make sense that not everybody want to have the half circle on left border by default.
Lets hope it is available in the international version
So are we saying that stock launcher on note 2 doesnt rotate landscape??

So it looks like every note 2 will have that function.

Test out the new SwiftKey flow beta with flow through space feature and with its powerful prediction along with swype feature, it is now beast of a keyboard.

Yup it is... It just puts every other keyboard out of the competition..
At last!!
I have been checking my mail daily to try this app since a month when i saw someone post the link here. And it arrives yesterday. Now trying it out!! I had been a huge fan of Swype for its ease and swiftkey(not that much) but loved its prediction. Can't think what the combo will be like!!!
Installing it now
It is a great app but takes quite some time to get output on the screen. For example, I finish typing the sentence before it finishes displaying on the screen. But the themes and all is amazing! Thanks for sharing.

Ohh! So this problem exists with all. I thought the RAM is too high around 50MB only for this and maybe there was not enough of RAM to cause this problem. Any ways it is still beta version. Hope they improve it.

yes its still in beta and one should also consider that our device is getting too old with 2gb RAM coming in trend..
Have it up. Great potential here. I cannot really say Swype is so much quicker but since this baby does groups of words, the delay multiplies and that becomes a problem. Swype's "keys" are larger, easier to use (same problem with TouchPal!) and it show more suggestions (could be a plus or a minus). Wonder if Paranoid options can improve the layouts. Problem with c/r vs smiley--filed as a bug.
Hats off to the devs at Swiftkey. Google took, possibly the same code, and tied it down to ARMv7. Disgusting. Swiftkey flow runs on our old clunkers just fine!
Nice keyboard but it takes up like 2/3 of our screen.

Key heights can be adjusted. Swype's sizes and layout, to me, is much easier to use.
May also experiment with Paranoid for modifying sizes.

Menu is over the ',' (comma). Setting from there.
I used this keyboard for a while but had to go back to Swype...not the new Swype but the ICS one.. version 3.26 i think...that was the best...the main problem with this keyboard is that there are no suggestions...just predictions..for example..if i swype "if" and it comes up as "of" you must delete the word because there is no suggestion...it just suggests the next word it thinks you want to insert....and you have to be very accurate...while on swype..if you do the same thing and it comes up as something else...suggestions will be like "if" "off" "for" etc...so many suggestions...and you can choose in swype between prediction and suggestion...so yeah not such a good experience with this keyboard...and the Flow through space method still needs a lot of work as it is far from accurate....but no doubt that it looks so much better and takes up only 8 mb of space i think...if they had the suggestion thing i'd be overjoyed..till then...enjoy it everyone
Yasss I love this with the Pumpkin theme. I can't wait until this gets a stable release.
It is time limited though

I haven't noticed any lag with it And I agree it looks great and has great ideas, but it's just lacking in features. The way I use my phone tho, the missing features don't bother me.
It's a launcher developed by Chris Lacy. He does good work. I use his twitter app, tweet lanes. It's one of the better twitter clients imho. He's very responsive to user feedback. This launcher is in its infancy so it'll get better

$4 is the going rate. It's the same price as apex and Nova even when they were brand new. It's very nice because it's actually different than the standard android launchers besides obviously the $10-17 ones.

I'm using this one since today on my Xperia Play ( My N4 hasn't arrived yet.. Germany - 'preordered' ****up )
And it runs smoothly even on this old device.
What stopped me from using it is the app drawer in the top left. It'd be a nuisance for me to reach all the way up there every time I needed to access the drawer o_0

Nova and Apex are free, there are paid versions which you can unlock certain features. Completely different to Action Launcher which doesn't offer a free/trial version.
At least with Nova/Apex you can see how it runs on your device over a day or two compared to Action Launcher which you basically have 15 minutes to trial it and if you don't like it you only have 15 minutes to request a refund.

I was concerned about this too - I think you can open the app drawer with the home button, but some apps you want will still be at the top of the list. Infact, if you use the A-Z most will be at the top.
Does anyone know if there is a way around this (e.g, when you press the letter they are offset from the top by a couple of apps)?
I will certainly keep an eye on this, I was quite impressed with the frequent updates for tweetlanes.
The app drawer isn't really on the top left, you can press the home button and it will open, and you can also just swipe right when you are on your "left most" home screen.
I use this on my Nexus 7, and I think its great, good to see something different and not horrifically overpriced!
For me, all it needs is a landscape option, I wouldn't really use landscape on my N4, but I would use it quite a bit on my N7!

Hi everyone!
A couple of months ago my mother bought a Nexus 5 because she really disliked that she wasn't able to change anything to her then current mobile phone other than the background: she had an iPhone. Now she's been getting used to the whole Android ecosystem and the look and feels, however, certain simple tasks are still difficult for her. What I then noticed was that none of the official Google apps (camera, gmail and settings f.e.) had the same management. The buttons aren't in the same places and therefore you have to learn what to do per app. There is just no consistency.
That's the reason why I made these mock-up/concepts. Simple and easy to understand. Easy to get from one place to the other. Also, apps which are really close to one-another, like the contacts app with the phone and messages app, are connected via the tab-pullout.

Feedback is welcome. Please keep in mind that this was just something I decided to do in my spare time and I thought would be fun to show you guys. Also, I am sorry certain texts are in Dutch, I made screenshots from my phone and didn't bother to change them .
EDIT 31-5-2014:
I've been thinking about how I could improve my last concept/mock-up and now I've come up with this idea.
It is a combination between the new looks of the Google Keep-app, Facebook-app and the camera app.
Now all navigation is in the bar on top, including the "sub-navigation". All the actions are in the lower bar, which looks just like the bar in the camera-app. I don't know what would be best: to make the actions disappear like the three-dot menu in the camera-app or like the actions in the facebook-app: disappear when scrolling.
Also, with apps like the music-app or youtube-app which have a thumbnail, they can take up some space on the action bar.
If there is not enough room for the actions, the action bar would be scrolable.
If a message or anything is selected, an action bar will pop-up below that message.
The action bar is in the bottom because it is easier to touch with your thumb on big phones (and maybe with some smaller phones as well).
I've put all the navigation stuff together and i've put all the actions together so it is more clear for newcomers and also so you immediately know where to go to instead of searching for what you want.

When it was announced M-UX was a replacement UI, was set as the default home page, came with three pages of M-UX content installed out-of-the-box, and had a ton of live widgets and the ability to add a tile (shortcut) to launch any installed app.
From the Verge in January...
The new tablets feature Samsung's new home screen layout called Magazine UX. The layout offers tiles of apps and information that users can customize and configure. Three preset pages are offered by default, though users can customize up to five pages with apps and news widgets. The whole system feels very similar to the LiveTile system in Windows 8.1 and is a bit more approachable for new users than the typical home screen. Ironically, the power users that Samsung is targeting with the Pro tablets will likely find the Magazine UX too constricting and limiting.Since then it's been renamed from "M-UX" to "Content Home," reduced to a single home page that's no longer the default (standard TW is), half the widgets shown at MWC are gone, and so are the tile app shortcuts. My guess is that it's been neutered as part of the cooperation agreement signed between Google and Samsung. Samsung Hub which was a content competitor to Google Play is also now gone on the Pro's.
To your point, what's left pretty much is a more flexible version of My Magazine that allows you to choose and re-arrange what news and social content is displayed on the page. Based on what it's ended up being I won't be upset if our update doesn't include it.
