maybe because the Korean version is already released, it has a newer version witch supports this feature, and the intl' will also support it.
but its not based on anything.. only me :cyclops:
I also think that the craftsmen will find a way)
That will be really disappointing if its only on the Korean Note 2.
After watching the videos of it yesterday I was definitely going to purchase the Galaxy Note 2 on launch day in the UK. But if its not a supported feature in the EU/N7100 models then I think I will hold off.
The multiscreen feature is also available in hong kong's note 2, which is an international version.

This looks awesome. However when I was watching it I was thinking "Sweet!!! I can finally answer texts while browsing the internet!" But after looking at the apps in the side bar I didn't see sms in there. So I wonder what apps will be supported in this feature and if it will be possible to incorporate mods to get other apps to work.
That's an awesome feature. Hopefully the international version also has this.
But if it doesn't has, i still go for the Note II

Sms is present as an option. in the first video, i can see the sms icon below the gallery icon. Samsung should be highlighting that feature because it brings a desktop like view to the note. Definitely ordering now. was going to wait to see the new nexus and features of the next version of Android, but this just sealed the decision.

My mistake, I'm using 'ultimate rotation control'.
It works great on my galaxy note 1.
One of the big reasons I'm using it is it allows 180 degree rotation so I'm not always hitting the capacitive buttons.

That is an amazing feature but of all the Note 2 videos I have seen, it's the first one I have seen that has that (half-circular) tab on the left side of the screen. Looks like it's brought up by holding the 'back button'. I wonder if its just that no one knows about this 'shortcut' to open this feature. Or could this be an updated version of TouchWiz we are seeing?
I think you can enable the multi-window from the settings, because it make sense that not everybody want to have the half circle on left border by default.
Lets hope it is available in the international version
So are we saying that stock launcher on note 2 doesnt rotate landscape??

Hi guys...
I dont know how many of you are annoyed with the way u ''multi task'' or bring ''recent apps'' in S3.. im certainly...
I feel ''pressing and Holding the home button'' for a while makes me think its a lllllllloooooooooooonnnnnnggggg time... so being lazy & impatient i came up with an idea....
:good: why cant Samsung or Someone could use the gesture "SWIPE UP FROM THE ""BOTTOM EDGE"" OF THE DISPLAY" to bring up the recent apps screen? Just like the way we bring down the notification bar from TOP EDGE of the display
Logically I want the device to look for the initial value of Y=0 on the screen to enable this gesture
We all know there is enough gap between the HOME BUTTON and the BOTTOM EDGE of the display?
Kindly say what do you think about this ? A request to Senior Members of the forum to make this idea reach the Samsung Engineers please.. Thank you
Can't be implemented until there is some hardware change.

When the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean update hits soon, that gesture will activate Google Now.
hm.why dont implement it with gestures+siyah kernel (link)
but instead of swiping above the hardware button, swipe on the bottom of the screen to up.

Hi,
There is not (have you read the thread? )... You can search on the Play Store there are some apps wich allow this (search for floating video, floating browser, floating sms, etc) but it's not in native on the N4... We have a pure Android device, not a Touchwiz or whatever overlay... But some apps does the job... So you'll can do something else while regarding a video for example...

AFAIK this can only be achieved by modding. Otherwise its a set list of apps that can do it.
If you want a definitive answer search on the SGS3 or GN2 forums.

the reason they crash on start is because they don't support JB. It says it in the app description if I recall correctly
you know what else isn't an option in the stock browser?
Open tabs in background window. what a load lol
However I have chrome installed and you can do the quick controls in labs.

Check out the thread that Royalmath.. Posted above. It looks like there are instructions there. I also found the browser from the Google Play edition that will work too. Problem that I am having is that because I use a case on my phone and the S4 bezels are soo thin the thumb controls don't work too well because my case doesn't allow me to swipe from the edge cleanly. Vs the Note 2 or S3 which had thicker bezels and I had no issues at all.

Actually one thing I noticed, is that you can hold the left button, besides the home button, and that will bring up the web browser address field. Isn't this nearly as good as quick controls?

I have the S4 and I use the stock browser (not Chrome), it has the quick controls (settings/Labs/ enable Quick Controls). You can also install Flash for it.
I really don't understand why the others browsers don't use Quick/Pies controls... that's the only reason why I still use the stock browser/AOSP browser.
OMG I was shocked to see the Note 3, just like the Note 2, only has a 4x5 grid on the homescreen. What I don't understand is how Samsung can develop a device with a huge screen, and then totally forget that they can make use of the extra room to place more icons. Even the original Note had 5 columns in the home screen by default (I owned the original Note, the Note 2 and now the Note 3).
I wanted to fix this using something like Assassin tools just like I did when I got my Note 2 a few months ago. Then I read about the Knox warranty void 0x1 on the Note 3. I don't want to void my warranty, although I find it completely rediculous that a user can loose warranty cause he wants to install another (modified) operating system to his device. Suppose Microsoft forbid me to install Linux on my PC!
But okay, we have to deal with it and we probably can't fix this problem (making Samsung change it's strategy) easily. So now it's becoming a challange to solve the wish for a more customizable home screen. How can we do that without root? Yes you could use a custom launcher, but I really like the Touchwiz launcher and it's widgets. Does anybody have ideas how to create a customizable grid on the Touchwiz homescreen to place icons and widgets, without the need to get the phone rooted?
Also: why can't we set the dpi per app? Same goes here, we have such nice devices with big screens, I'd love to have control over the per app dpi in Touchwiz! Is that possible without root? Anybody have a solution for that?
Or do I have to issue a ticket to the Samsung development team and clearify my wishes? And if so, will they listen?
I don't understand how you could be shocked by it, You must of already known this before buying the phone? the Samsung launcher had always been the same just like the xperia launcher etc
As for customising it if you don't want to root your phone right now when it is possible, im afraid you will have to wait it out. Try some other launchers at the moment besides I'm pretty sure most of the widgets work on different launchers

Ok I was not shocked in that kind of way (I love the Note series enough to keep buying each increment), but I can imagine that I'm not the only user with such a big screen who wished there was more room to place icons and use apps optimized for big screens. So the shock is that apparentely I am the only one complaining about this, or Samsung doesn't listen....

That's the point of Android. Don't like it, change it.

I have an S3 now (I had a Galaxy S before though), 4.8 inches of screen with Multiwindow. It may just be because I have big hands, but even on the S3, multiwindowing is barely comfortable. On the S, who knows how well that may work.
Also, that multiwindow needs Samsung JB 4.1.2.

There is no point using it on a 4 inch device. I find using it on my s4 a bit hard at times. The S1 may not perform very well if this implementation is added to the phone.

I've tried Omni with split view on my tablet, it works, and looks great, just the way it functions is a bit iffy.

Wrong. In omni ROM if you go to the recent apps list and hold your finger on an app it let's you put it into split view.
I tried whatsapp with MX player. Phone goes a bit laggy, and if you click in the whatsapp pane then the video pauses. Personally I'd prefer to watch my videos in nice fullscreen landscape and check my messages by pulling the notification shade down.
