Hi guys...
I dont know how many of you are annoyed with the way u ''multi task'' or bring ''recent apps'' in S3.. im certainly...
I feel ''pressing and Holding the home button'' for a while makes me think its a lllllllloooooooooooonnnnnnggggg time... so being lazy & impatient i came up with an idea....
:good: why cant Samsung or Someone could use the gesture "SWIPE UP FROM THE ""BOTTOM EDGE"" OF THE DISPLAY" to bring up the recent apps screen? Just like the way we bring down the notification bar from TOP EDGE of the display
Logically I want the device to look for the initial value of Y=0 on the screen to enable this gesture
We all know there is enough gap between the HOME BUTTON and the BOTTOM EDGE of the display?
Kindly say what do you think about this ? A request to Senior Members of the forum to make this idea reach the Samsung Engineers please.. Thank you
Can't be implemented until there is some hardware change.

When the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean update hits soon, that gesture will activate Google Now.
hm.why dont implement it with gestures+siyah kernel (link)
but instead of swiping above the hardware button, swipe on the bottom of the screen to up.

It is. Very useful in the browser, too.
For me I don't like the pointer option(in papyrus app for exemple) , to remove it :
\system\usr\idc\sec_e-pen.idc
Enable touch.deviceType = pointer
Disable touch.deviceType = touchScreen
Reboot after change

maybe because the Korean version is already released, it has a newer version witch supports this feature, and the intl' will also support it.
but its not based on anything.. only me :cyclops:
I also think that the craftsmen will find a way)
That will be really disappointing if its only on the Korean Note 2.
After watching the videos of it yesterday I was definitely going to purchase the Galaxy Note 2 on launch day in the UK. But if its not a supported feature in the EU/N7100 models then I think I will hold off.
The multiscreen feature is also available in hong kong's note 2, which is an international version.

That's an awesome feature. Hopefully the international version also has this.

Sms is present as an option. in the first video, i can see the sms icon below the gallery icon. Samsung should be highlighting that feature because it brings a desktop like view to the note. Definitely ordering now. was going to wait to see the new nexus and features of the next version of Android, but this just sealed the decision.

My mistake, I'm using 'ultimate rotation control'.
It works great on my galaxy note 1.
One of the big reasons I'm using it is it allows 180 degree rotation so I'm not always hitting the capacitive buttons.

That is an amazing feature but of all the Note 2 videos I have seen, it's the first one I have seen that has that (half-circular) tab on the left side of the screen. Looks like it's brought up by holding the 'back button'. I wonder if its just that no one knows about this 'shortcut' to open this feature. Or could this be an updated version of TouchWiz we are seeing?
I think you can enable the multi-window from the settings, because it make sense that not everybody want to have the half circle on left border by default.
Lets hope it is available in the international version
So are we saying that stock launcher on note 2 doesnt rotate landscape??

Im not a dev so i cant do it but here are some possible work arounds. You could assign take screenshot to one of the gestures in Apex Launcher so pinching in or two finger swipe would do it. Or I have it assigned in my navbar ring (i think most JB ROMS have this) its close to a gesture I just swipe up from the navbar and it takes a screen cap. Hope that at least gives you something similar until you can work out a real port.

Hello, I think I'm gonna buy an s4 but there's one thing that bothers me. It seems like there's no fast way to multitask. Just like the previous galaxy phones you have to hold down the home button to get to the recent app list. I find this painfully slow. Any suggestions for faster multitasking?
You find that slow??

The S4 uses the home button to multi task so it isn't as fast as the nexus 4 ( for the menu to appear) but its still fast enough. But if it bothers you than I would suggest a phone without a home button and on screen buttons.
Use a launcher, like Nova. The default gesture to bring up recent apps is to pinch zoom.
Problem solved.
There is also an app which provides the recent button as an on screen button and remains on screen at all times. You can move it around like a chat head.
Sent from my C6603 using Tapatalk HD
Yes I find it slow. Usually I just want to copy paste something or remember something and it takes two seconds to switch back and two seconds to switch forward. Four seconds is a long time these days.
Regarding the Nova launcher, gestures don't work inside apps right?
Samsung should allow customized buttons. I would love to change the menu to multitask.
You should get a HTC One with no home button and a recent apps button. I'm sure you'll love that.

yeah but at least it has double click to multitask which is way faster than a two-second lag.
Thanks for the link to the recent apps floating app. I'm not sure that it is worth it since it will be annoying to have in on the screen all the time...
What about the gestures in alternative launchers (nova). Does that work inside apps?

Hi,
I'm considering picking up the new Note 4, but this seemingly trivial feature is something I've grown to love on my Xperia and LG devices. Does the Note 4 have a double tap to wake feature implemented? Thanks!
There isn't any need for double tap to wake on Samsung devices as there is a physical home button.
This is a big one for me. The double tap to wake or close on the LG G3 has become one of my favorite features.
Regardless or not of there is a home button it would be nice to see this.
It does not.
