What do you guys think about this news?
Nougat based EUI 6.0.28
Seems like some official LeEco guy got pissed and leaked the official info?
But we want the OS right? Not the silly screenshot(LeEco guy)....
What are the features we could expect from this eui version???
Mines are:
1. Better RAM & BATTERY Management
Better battery, RAM, android interface,
New features
Better battery life and memory management. Doze mode is also a very useful feature. On my previous phone, I noticed a huge improvement on those areas when I jumped from Android M to N, and doze mode was the main cause.
Marshmallow already have doze mode.
It's a good news !!!!

Sure it has, but doze mode on Marshmallow is waaaay worse. Android N improved it a lot. In fact, in order to be able to use it efficiently on Android M, you usually had to use third party apps yo improve it. With Android N, we could get rid of those apps, which are also far from perfect and caused battery drain.

Honestly i think that leeco never release nougat beacuse is near to die.
We all 'think' LeEco is going to die sooner but it should simply atleast release beta nougat update so that rest of the world could rest in peace
looking to see that ASAP
I think, leeco will be sold.
Heyyo, eh it's neat and all yeah... But I'd rather see Nougat Kernel Sources which could help Nougat custom ROMs.

LeEco - LeTV is still active trade in stock market and profitable .
Le Mobile is virtually dead and could be sold
i am just wondering why the hell no developer from LeEco is not understanding our pain??? is it coz they don't understand English and could not read the pain of LeEco device user's ?
they simply leaked the nougat zip images???
for god sake LeEco devs have mercy, humanity and help the world :X

I'm sure, it isn't connected to Android N.
It's like every new version of website or maybe server
No Link still, bad post!
History:
This mobile version of Ubuntu was introduced in early 2013, first for smartphones on January 2, then for tablets on February 19, and made available to developers on February 21 of the same year. It is thus proposed to the installation on different existing products. In February 2013, the announcement of products sold with this pre-installed system was expected from October 20133, but in September 2013 it is announced that it will probably be expected to start in 2014 4. On 5 April 2017 , Mark Shuttleworth founder of Canonical, announces the halting of the development of Ubuntu Phone.
Characteristics:
At the time of the announcement, in January 2013, we learn that this version uses the same kernel as Android8 and has an interface for touch screens that gives great importance to the use of the edges of the screen to release of the " space, offers integration of applications developed in HTML 5, and also allows the use of the phone as a workstation like Ubuntu for Android.
The version 1.0 of Ubuntu Touch, which will be released in October 2013, along with the Ubuntu version 13.10, alias Saucy Salamander9, will embark a priori a adapted version of the Unity desktop. It is not yet clear whether the objective of unifying the software (one version for all hardware) is achieved.
Compatible Phones:
For the first release, some Google terminals are the only ones that are officially compatible: the Galaxy Nexus, Nexus 4, Nexus 7 and Nexus 109, the version for the Galaxy Nexus was subsequently removed. Ubuntu Touch has also been worn by the community on different terminals10. It is sold pre-installed on the following terminals: BQ Aquaris 4.5 (since February 2015 - still on sale in February 2016), followed by the following model BQ Aquaris 5 HD Ubuntu Edition11.
Mid-May 2015 is announced for sale a second smartphone under Ubuntu Touch, the Meizu MX412.
Mid-January 2016 is announced the first convergent tablet of BQ, the aquaris M10 Ubuntu edition13. A demonstration was made at the MWC in 2016.
Hello people, I can't patch my device to February Patch.
I'm stuck to January one.
I've tried EVERYTHING (updating Google Play Services via APK or signing to beta tester on Google Play).
At the end, I've done a factory reset, too.
My device IS NOT Rooted, and bootloader is LOCKED.
Someone can help me, please?
Thanks,
ghale
Me too. Brand new Xiaomi, just bought today. After setup, it downloaded two updates, Dezember and January update.
Maybe we should wait a little longer.
Wait for march update?? Sigh.
My wife's device too, same issue.
You mean you don't see an OTA update option? If so just wait a few days, it gets rolled out in batches. You are just unlucky.

Xiaomi stoped the release
Sent from my OnePlus 5T using Tapatalk
Ah.
So there are no updates for people that are on January, then?
Have you got some links where I can read about the stopped distribution, please?
Xiaomi has a weird habit of randomly cancelling released updates. Has done that before, will do that again. Chill out and just wait. And never buy anything based on Android One from them ever again - this company treats the MI A1 as an unwanted child. The February security update still has no official changelog 10 days after release.

I understand. Thanks for explaining me that.
Yep, I have 2 A1's, one for me and one for my wife, and neither has gotten the February update. I've asked Xiaomi about it through 2 FB groups, through the Feedback app and through email to their global support. I have not received an answer from any of those avenues: nada...crickets.
Honestly, I would rather a company pull the update than continue to distribute ones with major issues, but the total lack of communication is disheartening. I think the A1 is by far the best price/performance phone I've ever owned, and had high hopes of Xiaomi being my new 'goto' manufacturer. That is in jeopardy if they continue to step all over the whole idea of Android One and continue doing things without communicating why those things are needed. In the case of Android phones, no news is NOT good news! I will give them some slack, for a while, because the A1 is what, 6 months old? and it is their first Android One phone, so maybe it takes a bit for the need to 'do it right' to trickle down to the devs and working stiffs in the company. But that is only possible if it comes from upper management, and that is communicated by them. So far, all I've really seen in such communication is MIUI, which is a total no go for me. Get your stuff together Xiaomi. You've built a nice base of customers who might never have bought your products with the Mi A1. If you leave them high and dry, you will lose them just as quickly!
It's a nice phone indeed. But based on my experience, I wouldn't count on them communicating with users about software updates.

Considering a total lack of communications in regard to the MI A1, I am not buying anything from Xiaomi ever again.
For six months since its release:
We haven't had a single official announcement about the MI A1 development process
We haven't seen a single official changelog (MIUI forums is not the right place for changelogs - Xiaomi's own website is). Some updates have been published without any changelogs whatsoever, e.g. the last one
We haven't been notified even once about updates being revoked (and it has happened at least four times already)
We haven't seen a single comment in regard to its bugs. All feature requests have been rejected by the MIUI forums moderators.
The MI A1 is not fully Android 8 compatible: no camera2API, no Project Treble support
It has extremely horrible low light camera performance
Updates are randomly delayed
Clearly this company couldn't care less about the MI A1.

The page you linked provides an excellent summary of issues. Thanks for that. :good: I agree with you that perhaps the MIUI forums are not the best place for A1 bug tracking though, and it would be nice if Xiaomi actually paid attention to customers and provided a place for updates and feedback. Unfortunately, many users create their own issues, then scream loudly for the manufacturer to 'fix' an issue they created, or just plain complain incessantly about the lack of 'features' that were never part of the deal to begin with, and this may lead manufacturers to be less inclined to offer interactive tools.
While my A1's do not have a number of those issues, it does point to the fact that the A1 environment is varied, probably due to different software combinations from the many different locals it is sold in. Hopefully Xiaomi will get it's stuff together and provide some answers. Continuing to ignore customers is never a good solution. It also points out that if I want some features Xiaomi has neglected (EIS and Camera2 API), I am going to have to root the phone, which I was hoping to avoid.
So far, the update experience with the A1 has not been slooth, and I am a bit worried that the update to P may not happen at all, or be very painful if it does. While I won't go as far as to say I won't buy any more Xiaomi products, if another company comes along that offers excellent price/performance and does a decent job at communication and updates, it will certainly be on my radar.

I'm a bit fed up about Xiaomi. But I'm very satisfied about my device.
I've got Samsung S2, S4, S7 and now Mi A1.
And I can tell you: I'm good with my choice.
I can buy a Xiaomi Device EVERY YEAR with some money I've spent with Samsung. And I love Samsung. But I've been waiting for Oreo for several months.
Mi A1 lacks NFC, I hope my next phone will have it onboard.
Highlights:-
An attacker would need to be on the same Wi-Fi network as the target
Qualcomm has released updates to hardware OEMs and through Google Android Security Patch.
All Android users are advised to download the August 2019 security patch
Details:-
The Android Open Source Project (AOSP) website has published its Security Bulletin for August 2019, in which details of two high-severity issues affecting Android devices powered by Qualcomm processors are described. The two security flaws, together known as 'QualPwn', have been patched in the August 2019 over-the-air Android security update. At least one of the two issues affects Qualcomm's Wi-Fi and cellular hardware in a number of popular current and retired smartphone SoC models including the Snapdragon 855, 845, 835, 820, 730, 712, 710, 675, 670, 660, 665, and 636. The Snapdragon 850 and 8CX which are designed for laptops, and several other special-purpose processors aimed at the automotive, IoT, and smart speaker segments, are also affected.
Mi A2 has been affected as Snapdragon 660.
Flaws Details:-
Flaws can be exploited over the air and do not require hands-on access to a target device, but they do need proximity since an attacker would need to be using the same Wi-Fi network.
By sending a maliciously modified data packet to the target device, over either a Wi-Fi or cellular connection, the attacker could use these two flaws to create a chain of events that can compromise the device's Android kernel. No action would be required on the part of the device user. On its own, the first flaw could still allow an attacker to spy on a device's communications.
The flaws were first uncovered in February by Tencent Blade, the security arm of Chinese gaming company Tencent. Tencent Blade informed Google, which then roped Qualcomm in.
Qualcomm says it has already released a patch to its partners OEMs in early June. Google has added the security patch in August 2019 Android security patch.
Tencent Blade is only now disclosing this information because enough time has passed for the update to make its way into the August 2019 Android patch.
So when will Mi A2 have the patch?
@bluishguru it's a part of the August security patch from Google, so we should be getting this in the next update.
Some custom ROMs already have the update, though.

So we have a known security risk for at least 2 more weeks (roughly)
At best. Last year, when Xiaomi started preparing the release of Android 9, they stopped the monthly updates until that version was finally out.
Those are the "joys" of Android, at least here we know that *eventually* we'll get the update (unlike the vast majority of other Android devices).
For those on ColorOS 7.1 in Australia, new update, C.34 with only March 21 security patch new update avail to download OTA.
It's also available to download from the Oppo India site, no VPN required:

Hi, I have a oppo reno 5g, and it seems that this device will never have coloros11.
The reno 5g is the same device of 10x zoom. (Only with a 5g chips, it's the only difference). Does anyone try to install rom of cph1919 into cph1921?
Could it be work?
Thanks
Maybe, but the ROM above isn't ColorOS 11, but 7.1 (Android 10)....

Hey everyone, just to add a little extra spice to this boring dish, I recently contacted Oppo Australia for the umpteenth time about OTA update to Android 11 for my Optus 5G (CPH1921) and a few they gave me the very helpful response below:
I am sorry to know about what you are facing now and are here to solve your issues.
At moment, your OPPO 5G is unable to support/ compatible with Android 11 software.
The processing power and the storage in the phone causing the incompatibility issue in the phone.
I am sorry about this. You may still get security patches for the remainder life of the phone.
I saw red, called BS, said it was already rolled out in India and Indonesia and had been approved for roll out in Europe. I also threatened a call to the AU the ombudsman (wooo) and then got a fresh reply a day later:
Apologies for the inconvenience.
With regards to your concern, we would like to inform that software updates are released over-the-air (through Internet connection) and usually by batches - per device to device, country/region, and not all at the same time.
We have checked that as per the Android 11 Roll Out Plan the OPPO Reno 5G is not part of the update yet. Please kindly stay tuned for the next update.
So... everyone in Australia with this phone is now crystal clear then!?!?! Laughable
