Hi, I have a oppo reno 5g, and it seems that this device will never have coloros11.
The reno 5g is the same device of 10x zoom. (Only with a 5g chips, it's the only difference). Does anyone try to install rom of cph1919 into cph1921?
Could it be work?
Thanks

Maybe, but the ROM above isn't ColorOS 11, but 7.1 (Android 10)....

Yes, I know.. But in the future it will be the F.XX stable version that it will be available on the oppo website... I expect to try itnon my oppo reno 5g! Thanks!

Hey everyone, just to add a little extra spice to this boring dish, I recently contacted Oppo Australia for the umpteenth time about OTA update to Android 11 for my Optus 5G (CPH1921) and a few they gave me the very helpful response below:
I am sorry to know about what you are facing now and are here to solve your issues.
At moment, your OPPO 5G is unable to support/ compatible with Android 11 software.
The processing power and the storage in the phone causing the incompatibility issue in the phone.
I am sorry about this. You may still get security patches for the remainder life of the phone.
I saw red, called BS, said it was already rolled out in India and Indonesia and had been approved for roll out in Europe. I also threatened a call to the AU the ombudsman (wooo) and then got a fresh reply a day later:
Apologies for the inconvenience.
With regards to your concern, we would like to inform that software updates are released over-the-air (through Internet connection) and usually by batches - per device to device, country/region, and not all at the same time.
We have checked that as per the Android 11 Roll Out Plan the OPPO Reno 5G is not part of the update yet. Please kindly stay tuned for the next update.
So... everyone in Australia with this phone is now crystal clear then!?!?! Laughable

HAHHAA It's still unclear... Some people in oppo australia say that the OPPO reno 5g is eligible (I send my IMEI). Sone others always say the same as you.
I would prefer if they are clear and say to me NO the phone will never have Cos 11...
Oppo care say that they work on it...
I think this phone will stuck on Cos 7 with android 10! Boring!

I own a ZTE Axon 7 2017U Prototype/Pre-Production. Ask me anything.

I own one of the ZTE Axon 7 pre-production/prototype phone. You can ask me anything, but I may choose not to answer your question if I think it is a sensitive question. I attached a few pictures below and the noticeable difference is this phone come with on-screen keys instead of capacitive keys.
To begin, I was one of the few ZTE Axon 7 Beta Tester back in April 2016 (I do not work for ZTE). I received this phone one-two months before they officially announce it in China on May 2016. I returned this phone to the company before I left the USA for my summer vacation in May. On October, this phone was given to me from one of the employees in ZTE upper-level management.
This phone is my daily driver and I love it! To clarify, the phone that I have is 2017U and have 4GB RAM and 64GB ROM.
How did you become a beta tester for ZTE?
Can you install an ordinary A7 firmware on this phone?
And which firmware version/build did you get initially?
Thanks.

The phone was running Android 6 when I first got it. It's just the same build as that you guys have. I was pretty worry when I was trying to upgrade to Android 7 during February since this phone is a little bit different because of the on screen key. However, I'm able to upgrade to the latest firmware like everyone has without issue. I do not root this phone due to the fact that Android has been getting to a point that I can do everything I want my installing app. When I started using Android 2.0, I had to root to get everything I want.
It started one day in BetaBound. I tested one of ZTE's low end devices. After that, I was contacted by them (targeted) to test a "premium device", which is A7. I don't do a lot testing. In 2016, I tested Axon 7 and Netgear Orbi (they contacted me like 9 months prior launch).
What about Axon 8? Have you tested this?

Nope. Don't have any clue about the next one yet.

My Device can't find February Patch. I've tried everything. No results.

Hello people, I can't patch my device to February Patch.
I'm stuck to January one.
I've tried EVERYTHING (updating Google Play Services via APK or signing to beta tester on Google Play).
At the end, I've done a factory reset, too.
My device IS NOT Rooted, and bootloader is LOCKED.
Someone can help me, please?
Thanks,
ghale
Me too. Brand new Xiaomi, just bought today. After setup, it downloaded two updates, Dezember and January update.
Maybe we should wait a little longer.
Wait for march update?? Sigh.
My wife's device too, same issue.
You mean you don't see an OTA update option? If so just wait a few days, it gets rolled out in batches. You are just unlucky.

Xiaomi stoped the release
Sent from my OnePlus 5T using Tapatalk
Ah.
So there are no updates for people that are on January, then?
Have you got some links where I can read about the stopped distribution, please?
Xiaomi has a weird habit of randomly cancelling released updates. Has done that before, will do that again. Chill out and just wait. And never buy anything based on Android One from them ever again - this company treats the MI A1 as an unwanted child. The February security update still has no official changelog 10 days after release.

I understand. Thanks for explaining me that.
Yep, I have 2 A1's, one for me and one for my wife, and neither has gotten the February update. I've asked Xiaomi about it through 2 FB groups, through the Feedback app and through email to their global support. I have not received an answer from any of those avenues: nada...crickets.
Honestly, I would rather a company pull the update than continue to distribute ones with major issues, but the total lack of communication is disheartening. I think the A1 is by far the best price/performance phone I've ever owned, and had high hopes of Xiaomi being my new 'goto' manufacturer. That is in jeopardy if they continue to step all over the whole idea of Android One and continue doing things without communicating why those things are needed. In the case of Android phones, no news is NOT good news! I will give them some slack, for a while, because the A1 is what, 6 months old? and it is their first Android One phone, so maybe it takes a bit for the need to 'do it right' to trickle down to the devs and working stiffs in the company. But that is only possible if it comes from upper management, and that is communicated by them. So far, all I've really seen in such communication is MIUI, which is a total no go for me. Get your stuff together Xiaomi. You've built a nice base of customers who might never have bought your products with the Mi A1. If you leave them high and dry, you will lose them just as quickly!
It's a nice phone indeed. But based on my experience, I wouldn't count on them communicating with users about software updates.

Considering a total lack of communications in regard to the MI A1, I am not buying anything from Xiaomi ever again.
For six months since its release:
We haven't had a single official announcement about the MI A1 development process
We haven't seen a single official changelog (MIUI forums is not the right place for changelogs - Xiaomi's own website is). Some updates have been published without any changelogs whatsoever, e.g. the last one
We haven't been notified even once about updates being revoked (and it has happened at least four times already)
We haven't seen a single comment in regard to its bugs. All feature requests have been rejected by the MIUI forums moderators.
The MI A1 is not fully Android 8 compatible: no camera2API, no Project Treble support
It has extremely horrible low light camera performance
Updates are randomly delayed
Clearly this company couldn't care less about the MI A1.

The page you linked provides an excellent summary of issues. Thanks for that. :good: I agree with you that perhaps the MIUI forums are not the best place for A1 bug tracking though, and it would be nice if Xiaomi actually paid attention to customers and provided a place for updates and feedback. Unfortunately, many users create their own issues, then scream loudly for the manufacturer to 'fix' an issue they created, or just plain complain incessantly about the lack of 'features' that were never part of the deal to begin with, and this may lead manufacturers to be less inclined to offer interactive tools.
While my A1's do not have a number of those issues, it does point to the fact that the A1 environment is varied, probably due to different software combinations from the many different locals it is sold in. Hopefully Xiaomi will get it's stuff together and provide some answers. Continuing to ignore customers is never a good solution. It also points out that if I want some features Xiaomi has neglected (EIS and Camera2 API), I am going to have to root the phone, which I was hoping to avoid.
So far, the update experience with the A1 has not been slooth, and I am a bit worried that the update to P may not happen at all, or be very painful if it does. While I won't go as far as to say I won't buy any more Xiaomi products, if another company comes along that offers excellent price/performance and does a decent job at communication and updates, it will certainly be on my radar.

I'm a bit fed up about Xiaomi. But I'm very satisfied about my device.
I've got Samsung S2, S4, S7 and now Mi A1.
And I can tell you: I'm good with my choice.
I can buy a Xiaomi Device EVERY YEAR with some money I've spent with Samsung. And I love Samsung. But I've been waiting for Oreo for several months.
Mi A1 lacks NFC, I hope my next phone will have it onboard.

Android 10

Do you guys think we will get Android 10 update?
Yup. Asus has confirmed that max pro M1 will get android Q. They made this statement during release of 9 pie.

Its not confirmed and honestly don't keep high hopes.
I remember Asus promising two major updates to ZMP M1 at launch. A Q&A session with one of their official also indicated this. BUT "major system update" cannot be conclusively termed as Android P & Q if we go by the track record of companies. In fact, we have seen brands go back on their solemn promise (Moto ?) only to face backlash and then provide a delayed update.
Long story short - we have a good probability of getting Q but don't bet your life on it - not yet !
yes definitely we will get Android 10 on Pro M1 but in 2020 when google is about to launch android 11....remember android pie released officially by google and asus gave that after almost 10 months passed....with beta program and still too many bugs....we all know that asus camera result is so poor....IT IS STRICTLY NECESSARY ASUS SHOULD COMPLETELY CHANGE THEIR SOFTWARE ENGINEER TEAM OTHERWISE IT WILL LOSE MOBILE BUSINESS...
What about custom Rom development of Android 10, it has been officially launched today.
Here I have found an easy way! Unlock Bootloader Asus ROG Phone 2
If we get android 10 (no hopes though) camera2api will be enabled by default as Google made it compulsory in aosp. Possible?

Dude read and research first.

OxygenOS OTAs never seem to hit my device, what can be done?

Since the purchase of the OnePlus 8 Pro (IN2023) last May, I have received a single OTA update. That was the day I first turned the phone on, and it was updated to OxygenOS 10.5.8.IN11BA. That's it.
Since then, not a single OTA of the EU version of OxygenOS has been made available to my device, even weeks after each incremental update had been reported to be rolling out to other devices.
I'm not sure how exactly OTA rollouts are being implemented by OnePlus, but I find it weird to be constantly left behind and exclusively rely on a Play Store app (Oxygen Updater) to get any new OS update that becomes available.
Any other owners experiencing a similar issue? Any ideas on how/if this can be somehow dealt with?
Impossible to invoke a new update unless it's being advertised to your device, I believe they're staggered releases so the servers tension uncluttered.
There's nothing wrong with the ox updater method..
It's an age old complaint "when will it xxxxxx be our?"
Only OnePlus would know.

Hopefully this means that us poor souls in Europe start getting the update soon and that we don't have to go through a beta period for our regional variant.
Exactly Because we did not have the right to test the beta version is I really cross the throat !!! This is the last realme device I will buy. Excluding all of Europe is really not smart and normal.

They do not even update anymore the official eu website. Only uk and in. On the official eu website there is still version c32 for download.
My query regarding a problem with plugins, which I have posted several times and sent several times by mail remained unanswered and unsolved till now.
I must assume they have no further interest in the European market.

OYes for the new device, but for the realme x2 pro which was supposedly their flagship device, they are now after all their "new" mid-range. What to be disgusted with realme !!! We have not even been entitled to the android 11 beta version in europe so yes his comment is largely justified. Is was my first smartphone realme is It will be the last for sure !!! I should have bought a more expensive xiaomi mi 10 but your price!
I emailed Realme Europe asking when we could expect to see the update and all I got in response was a link to a customer satisfaction survey.
Let me say that I wished they had an option below 'Very dissapointed' as it looks like they didn't even read the email.
My guess is that they simply can't answer the question.
