What do you guys think about this news?
Nougat based EUI 6.0.28
Seems like some official LeEco guy got pissed and leaked the official info?
But we want the OS right? Not the silly screenshot(LeEco guy)....
What are the features we could expect from this eui version???
Mines are:
1. Better RAM & BATTERY Management
Better battery, RAM, android interface,
New features
Better battery life and memory management. Doze mode is also a very useful feature. On my previous phone, I noticed a huge improvement on those areas when I jumped from Android M to N, and doze mode was the main cause.
Marshmallow already have doze mode.
It's a good news !!!!

Sure it has, but doze mode on Marshmallow is waaaay worse. Android N improved it a lot. In fact, in order to be able to use it efficiently on Android M, you usually had to use third party apps yo improve it. With Android N, we could get rid of those apps, which are also far from perfect and caused battery drain.

Honestly i think that leeco never release nougat beacuse is near to die.
We all 'think' LeEco is going to die sooner but it should simply atleast release beta nougat update so that rest of the world could rest in peace
looking to see that ASAP
I think, leeco will be sold.
Heyyo, eh it's neat and all yeah... But I'd rather see Nougat Kernel Sources which could help Nougat custom ROMs.

LeEco - LeTV and Le Mobile are separated company.
LeEco - LeTV is still active trade in stock market and profitable .
Le Mobile is virtually dead and could be sold
i am just wondering why the hell no developer from LeEco is not understanding our pain??? is it coz they don't understand English and could not read the pain of LeEco device user's ?
they simply leaked the nougat zip images???
for god sake LeEco devs have mercy, humanity and help the world :X

i hope they add support for our phones, i wanna be the very best man, otherwise ill have to sell this phone, it's been disappointing me alot.
Starr a petition for the support?
I don't care about MM update... I just want to play Pokémon Go!
I've had a few issues now with the zenfone. I regret buying this after my oneplus died.
cm13 cant play
No f*** way, really I hate Asus now this is the last time I'm buying this crap, paid 400$ with an SD and couple of covers, I should've bought one plus two instead...
Remember guys, if software isn't working, it's the software manufacturer's job to get it fixed. In this case, I'm guessing the developers of the Pokemon game compiled it specifically for non-Intel SoC's... so you would want to send your petition to the Pokemon game developer to also compile Intel libraries.
I was in 2nd phase of the beta test and even then they never took the time to compile for x86 phones. I can't completely blame them either as it seems it's very out of the way to compile for x86 or Intel based phones as well. Another game called Fantasy War Tactics kinda had the same problem recently where they did a few updates that also broke compatibility for x86 so maybe it's not entirely their fault either. In the end we are just gonna have to wait patiently.
Sent from my ASUS_Z00AD using Tapatalk
I think they are being lazy since a properly made app would never have issues with x86 compilation
If I had to guess it flagged the anti cheat stuff. Who knows. I'm frustrated with this phone.
Yes let's start the petition now!
Here is a link to a petition that has currently 1,481 supporters.https://www.change.org/p/niantic-pokemon-go-intel-processor?recruiter=369210296&utm_source=petitions_show_components_action_panel_wrapper&utm_medium=copylink
Nowadays a few tablets also use Intel SoC, so I guess more and more people will start complaining and the developers will eventually have to care about compatibility and compiling for x86 platforms. If they want the game to spread, they will have to support as many systems as possible.
I'm not going to regret buying this phone just for one game. This is a smartphone, not a PS4.
The phone runs pretty good regardless of not playing a couple of games.
Sent from my ASUS_Z00TD using XDA-Developers mobile app
but couldn't anyone make believe app somehow that we have another different processor from intel? Sorry for the bad english
---------- Post added at 09:50 AM ---------- Previous post was at 09:46 AM ----------
because even if the petition is accepted, we still have to wait for July 15 or more, and I want to play Pokémon go as soon as possible ahahaha
Why is everyone blaming the phone manufacturer?
This isn't their issue if one or two games/apps don't work as its the app developers responsibility.
Moreover pokemon go isn't supported for windows phones as well, so should we start a petition to ban microsoft?
Very sad to see these kind of posts even after knowing asus is trying its best to provide for timely updates.
Also even if pokemon go comes to support z2 we won't be able to play it for more than 1-1/2 hours in one charge due to our battery life issues.
The regret comes from Intel. Seems they pushed and then mostly abandoned this market. Sigh.
RemixOS 3.x is available for about a month already. That is, if you are using a computer or Nexus 9/Pixel C.
So.. What about Ultratablet owners? No confirmation about any release or whatsoever. Are we not getting love anymore?
Considering the issues the ultratablet faced in getting version 2 due to nvidia drivers not getting released?
Don't hold your breath.
Unless someone from Jide can officially state it is getting version 3, assume it's not.
Unfortunately not likely. I had a twitter convo with Jide just the other day about this very question:
Twitter Convo
that's depressing. i just bought mine in the spring and i have to say it was a bad decision as essentially, it immediately became deprecated. i love many things about it but i feel so cheated that its problems will never be addressed.
i guess it is my own fault for not researching enough? i am a good researcher but i guess i missed the most important things. i know it is pointless to fret about because what's done is done, but this is my only computer, and it was an expensive purchase by my standards. so it really bums me out when I get thinking about it.
That sounds a bit strange, nvidia roth devices are clearly tegra 4 device also. So whats the part nvidia doesnt support? Is it cause we have a Macallan board and the shield portable (roth) is a roth board?
Gesendet von meinem Nexus 6P mit Tapatalk
Roth board is probably running a 3.x arm kernel - and currently x86 Android 6.0 needs a 4.4.x kernel.
Jide probably could backport the needed commits for 6.0 to the 3.x kernel that the Ultratablet is using.
Possibly there could be a way to 'meld' the RemixOS [Android-IA] 2.x with [Android-x86] 3.x and get it to run. i.e replacing the kernel/modules in 3.x with 2.x and seeing if it runs
It does sound strange, and lacking a clear and in depth statement from Jide and Nvidia, we can only speculate.
There was a similar issue, going by Jude's oblique statement at the time, of an issue with nvidia drivers holding up remix 2 point something or other very ng released for the ultra tablet.

Yeah but original Jide sk1w kernel is a 3.4.108 arm kernel, so hard to believe it's a nvidia part. Maybe it's a invensense mpu 3050 think, or an other device specific part, but from my point of view not a nvidia think. For google (Ex) engineers it should be easy to update our kernel to make it mm compliant.

My bad, thought the Ultratablet was an x86 like a few other RemixOS tablets...
If they were provided with the kernel for the Ultra by nvidia rather than the sources then it could be a nvidia issue; especially as they don't seem too keen to push MM to Tegra4 devices; but also probably Jide hasn't touched their arm code too much since work started on the x86 version.
I have given up all hope of bugs with apps being fixed and have also given up on remix 3.0 for this tablet. Wish I would have never bought it.

Totally agree. A CM13 Rom is under development, but for now we are at the mercy of Jide and they have effectively abandoned this product. I, too, wish I had not purchased this. While the hardware is excellent, the Remix operating system falls short of its promises and potential.
The TF701T I sold to purchase this tablet was light years ahead in quality and I regret the decision every day.
Please stop telling people Jide has abandoned their products. It's not true. Have you even submitted any and all issues you have with the tablet OS?

Will there be any announcements regarding remix 3 in regards to the ultratablet, will be or will not be. Any news is better than nothing.
You can see why people feel like Jide has abandoned its product when we hear nothing from official representatives.

I have in the past submitted tickets and got little effective support. Consider that those of us who own the Ultra Tablet whether purchased in the kickstarter campaign or through various retail purchases PAID for a product that has less support that the free download for those who wish to run Jide's OS on a PC.
Perhaps Jide should consider a buyback program.
Help me help you. Sometimes all you need to do is send a update request in the last email. OR just come to me and say communication was lost between u and Jide.

Ok, well the WebEx app still doesn't work at all on my ultra tablet...I even made a thread here about it weeks ago and someone from Jide staff tested for a day and agreed it was broken.
That's one bug that has had individual attention without resolution.
If the product hasn't been abandoned....when can we expect 3.0?
I need your ticket#
Jide will continue giving updates but an upgrade is not possible until they get the chipset drivers for the tablet so it can work in the Marshmellow environment.
Your Jide Ambassador is here!!!
@AmoraRei Can you please specify whitch chipset driver is the problem? Invensense MPU/Compass? Akm8963 gyroscope? Tegra GL Libs? Macallan board? Is it nvidia whitch drops support? And if yes what isnt supported and why?
Thanks

Hi, I heard on the news that russian and chinese phones may be stuffed with rootkits and backdoors straight from the factory. One reporter mentioned mob/gangs involved.
Can this be true? People have so much personal info on their phones that would be interesting to thieves. And hardly a way to keep them out or to check if you're safe.
I know that there's always a risk, and I'm not going back to a dumbphone. Just wondering if the russian and chinese phones could be the greater risk here.
Not that I particularly trust Apple, Google or Samsung, but I do trust them not to take my phone hostage by ransomware or steal my creditcard info.
The brand Yotaphone is new to me, I really like the idea of the EPD. I tried to get a YD201 a couple of weeks ago, but they're sold out. Now I am considering to buy the Yotaphone 3 when it arrives. But this rumor has me rethinking if I should. Any thoughts on this?
The yotaphone was actually cleared for use in USA a couple of years ago.

Do you have a link to these sources?
Its probably just paranoid people speculating.
I own a YD206, and is great.
If you really are convinced that there are rootkits and backdoors, just install an antivirus of your choice and run a full scan.
I heard it on the news, so no links unfortunately. It's not like I made up the news either, but it's not so unthinkable if you ask me. I do wonder about my data, and don't mind asking somebody else's opinion.
IIRC it was BLU phones sending user data back to China and that was only because of a third party service called adups which provided the OTA. BLU doesn't make hardware they rebrand existing phones from China, and I remember reading somewhere they don't make the firmware either which is how this fxxk up occured.
Both the actual yotaphone hardware and firmware are unique and not rebranded like BLU. Yota also can't go to another company like BLU did and ask them to make the firmware since their phones have the EPD. I'm confident yota is safe, and besides it's Facebook and Google you have to worry about since they actually collect a fxxk ton of your data.
TL;DR Yota is most likely safe. It's BLU, Google and Facebook you need to worry about.
I own a YD201 (Yotaphone 2) btw.
Hi LeslieKawiti,
That makes sense. Besides, if Yota would be caught that would be the instant deathblow for the brand. It being a niche phone, maybe it's not the best target for a money scam.
It's this stupid Russian hackers bull**it.
But I did once buy a Chinese IP cam, that was infected. Firmware had a virus that enables them to use your internet for DDOS. I updated it with the official firmware and that fixed it. It was something a seller or somebody in transport did, I don't think manufacturer could afford to do something this 'evil'. But who knows what tomorrow brings.

Yes sir, you are correct. Thanks for the advice of installing another launcher.
Still though disabling/hiding softbricks the phone by either bootloop on disabling or freezing on removing
this google system app by force.
It is very sad to have no control about the phone in that aspect.
-> Further the app is occasionally asking different data from phone which can be seen with xprivacy.

Have you got some links where I can read about the stopped distribution, please?
Xiaomi has a weird habit of randomly cancelling released updates. Has done that before, will do that again. Chill out and just wait. And never buy anything based on Android One from them ever again - this company treats the MI A1 as an unwanted child. The February security update still has no official changelog 10 days after release.

I understand. Thanks for explaining me that.
Yep, I have 2 A1's, one for me and one for my wife, and neither has gotten the February update. I've asked Xiaomi about it through 2 FB groups, through the Feedback app and through email to their global support. I have not received an answer from any of those avenues: nada...crickets.
Honestly, I would rather a company pull the update than continue to distribute ones with major issues, but the total lack of communication is disheartening. I think the A1 is by far the best price/performance phone I've ever owned, and had high hopes of Xiaomi being my new 'goto' manufacturer. That is in jeopardy if they continue to step all over the whole idea of Android One and continue doing things without communicating why those things are needed. In the case of Android phones, no news is NOT good news! I will give them some slack, for a while, because the A1 is what, 6 months old? and it is their first Android One phone, so maybe it takes a bit for the need to 'do it right' to trickle down to the devs and working stiffs in the company. But that is only possible if it comes from upper management, and that is communicated by them. So far, all I've really seen in such communication is MIUI, which is a total no go for me. Get your stuff together Xiaomi. You've built a nice base of customers who might never have bought your products with the Mi A1. If you leave them high and dry, you will lose them just as quickly!
It's a nice phone indeed. But based on my experience, I wouldn't count on them communicating with users about software updates.

Considering a total lack of communications in regard to the MI A1, I am not buying anything from Xiaomi ever again.
For six months since its release:
We haven't had a single official announcement about the MI A1 development process
We haven't seen a single official changelog (MIUI forums is not the right place for changelogs - Xiaomi's own website is). Some updates have been published without any changelogs whatsoever, e.g. the last one
We haven't been notified even once about updates being revoked (and it has happened at least four times already)
We haven't seen a single comment in regard to its bugs. All feature requests have been rejected by the MIUI forums moderators.
The MI A1 is not fully Android 8 compatible: no camera2API, no Project Treble support
It has extremely horrible low light camera performance
Updates are randomly delayed
Clearly this company couldn't care less about the MI A1.

The page you linked provides an excellent summary of issues. Thanks for that. :good: I agree with you that perhaps the MIUI forums are not the best place for A1 bug tracking though, and it would be nice if Xiaomi actually paid attention to customers and provided a place for updates and feedback. Unfortunately, many users create their own issues, then scream loudly for the manufacturer to 'fix' an issue they created, or just plain complain incessantly about the lack of 'features' that were never part of the deal to begin with, and this may lead manufacturers to be less inclined to offer interactive tools.
While my A1's do not have a number of those issues, it does point to the fact that the A1 environment is varied, probably due to different software combinations from the many different locals it is sold in. Hopefully Xiaomi will get it's stuff together and provide some answers. Continuing to ignore customers is never a good solution. It also points out that if I want some features Xiaomi has neglected (EIS and Camera2 API), I am going to have to root the phone, which I was hoping to avoid.
So far, the update experience with the A1 has not been slooth, and I am a bit worried that the update to P may not happen at all, or be very painful if it does. While I won't go as far as to say I won't buy any more Xiaomi products, if another company comes along that offers excellent price/performance and does a decent job at communication and updates, it will certainly be on my radar.

Well, I'll partially follow step 8.
"Step 8 : Invite your friends and family to celebrate that you successfully updated your device."
I mean, I'll invite my friends to celebrate, we'll use Italian red wine.

I'm a bit fed up about Xiaomi. But I'm very satisfied about my device.
I've got Samsung S2, S4, S7 and now Mi A1.
And I can tell you: I'm good with my choice.
I can buy a Xiaomi Device EVERY YEAR with some money I've spent with Samsung. And I love Samsung. But I've been waiting for Oreo for several months.
Mi A1 lacks NFC, I hope my next phone will have it onboard.
well as many , i bought this from lenovo supposed official store on aliexpress and with a so called global rom
upon receipt i found that this version is a dissapointment in games while i expected 855 to run as expected 270k on antutu shows me that something is wrong with this , the rom is obviously a hacked hybrid rom with no rom upgrade capability ota. and i know this as i saw the chinese rom upgrade to july release.
the rom is here https://boycracked.com/2019/06/27/official-lenovo-z6-pro-l78051-stock-rom/
In the same boat here; Antutu is about 100k short of the norm, 3D mark scores (OpenGL especially) just as bad or worse.
I found enabling "Force GPU rendering" and especialy "Disable HW overlays" in Developer options an improvement. But this rom needs updates.
The Chinese rom has had a bunch of updates, reportedly fixing lots of bugs, improving camera quality and performance.
I'm waiting to hear back from the AliExpress 'official' Lenovo store if there will be official OTA updates for this phone. That's what they advertised with, so they can expect a dispute when they come up empty.
May be it's need open Lenozo Z6 forum, it seems that many people buy it and need forum to discuss about it

I agree with You. Lenovo z6 pro will need dedicated subforum.
For now i have seen 2 rom upgrade tutorials global and chinese version. As well as some issues reported like: notifications not working properly due to battery optimization issues. We need this subforum to make discussion possible.
So, how do we get a dedicated Z6 Pro subforum?
I think we need write to moderators xda
Hi guys,
I am considering buying this phone as it's the cheapest SD855 phone right now.
Just a few questions,
1. Is the global ROM an "official" Lenovo Z6 Pro Global ROM or it's only a rooted device running a stock-ish looking Android like Motorola?
2. In Aliexpress, there is a seller called "Lenovo Aliexpress Store"
https://lenovotech.aliexpress.com/store/5015097?spm=a2g0o.detail.100005.1.17ed620exNtnAc
- is this the "official" Lenovo store in Aliexpress?
3. I'm reading complaints about Global ROM having lower antutu benchmark scores but in real-life usage, is the performance like a midrange device (laggy, delay response when opening apps, etc).
I hope someone can help me decide if i should give it a go.
P.S. I bought the Motorola P30 (ZUI-based) from Aliexpress last year and in all honesty, ZUI s*cks.
There are too many bugs like
1. Special access to apps (accessibility, draw over apps), you NEED to give access every.single.time you open the app. ZUI will DISABLE access once you exit or turn off your phone!
2. Notifications will NOT work on 3rd party apps (even if you disabled battery optimizations, allowed notification per app etc).
3. Problem changing wallpaper of your 3rd party launcher (ex Nova launcher).
4. You can only watch 360p videos on Facebook
5. You can only upload 360p videos on Instagram stories
4&5 -- means, all the videos you watch on Facebook/Instagram are PIXELATED.
Too many bugs that I have decided to give it to my mom.
Regret buying this so called global version of Z6 Pro, with 8gb ram from a dodgy official seller on AliExpress as the purchase invoice that I received is from an unknown reseller.
Well this Z6 Pro unit has visible chromatic aberration on screen and warm tone which cannot be corrected from display options, FHD videos are not sharp or realistically 1080p enough. Has third class cheap user interface, 3D rendering is also jurky.
There are lots of other issues and bugs in it. To summarize I think ROM requires a major overhaul and the features that Lenovo marketed are not at all of any flagship handset but of a midranger.
If only Lenovo will just stop customizing their software and leave it as stock a la Motorola, at least for their global ROM.
Mainland Chinese consumers are different from the rest and i get that ZUI is important.
The bugs are due to ZUI not compliant to Google Services.
Anyway, I still think Lenovo Z6 Pro is a good buy among all other SD855 devices just because it's the cheapest.
And take note, you CAN install GCam apk with the device and the quality is comparable to a Pixel 3.
I do own a Z6 Pro (official Firmware): it is nice (if you can use the english firmware), but you have to configure and personalize a lot and even then it is not comparable with other (more known) Smartphone brands. Launcher und UI is different. Battery and & Display is very nice. If you rely on WhatsApp/Telegram or other Push services: simply don't buy it.
AnTuTu is 359528, latest firmware is 11.0.575
My review (in German): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uThSfE9riv8
I also own a Lenovo Z6 Pro aqcuired from from Lenovo official store (aliexpress /store/900160001) With so called Global ROM (11.0.211 ST). No OTAs after arrival, around 2 weeks ago.
It punctuates low on Antutu (~278k) because of GPU problems, but quite high on Geekbench (3.5k single, 10.5k multi).
Doesn't seem laggy to me.
I don't have problems with notifications on Whatsapp or Telegram.
Photos are quite good in rear camera, and good to average with tele and wide-angle. Don't use front camera, can't tell.
To get EIS on videos taken with main camera I use Google Photos.
To make rear camera great instead of very good I use arnova8g2 's Gcam 6.2.030 advanced mod.
I've claimed a dispute with AliExpress over the global Z6 Pro from the 'official' AliExpress Lenovo store. I'm offered a €70,- refund, or the option to return the phone for free for a full refund.
I'm not sure what to do. I like the phone, but if it wont be updated from the current 11.0.211, or gains any community mod support, I'd rather return it.
What would you guys do?
Regards,
Marc

Sorry if this was answered in your review, but you are running official Chinese firmware which has an English language option? Were you able to install google play store?
Just watched your review, very informative I must say. I wish I had opted for the Chinese version, as that seems to work just fine in your review. English language suits me nicely, and installing Play store seemed quite straightforward in your review.
Anyone know of a way to install an official chinese rom on our global versions? Because that would make my Z6 Pro a lot more desirable.
To answer my own question; I found the below thread on how to flash an official chinese Lenovo rom on our Global Z6 Pro's.
I'm away from home for another week, but will hang on to my Z6 Pro for a bit to see how I like it with the Chinese rom and manually added Google Play store.

the Chinese rom is arguably better than the global hacked so I do not advise buying the device with the global rom. you can install the play store and everything works correctly.
Below is a short video of the mobile phone's desktop and setup.

Yes no sound for WhatsApp and I use the phone app to make calls.
Same issue here. Chinese rom, amazing performance, but no notification sound for Whatsapp. And sometimes i have to open Whatsapp to receive messages, even with the app locked (configured in Security). If someone has the original global rom please share with us.
guys, who have 11.0.211st pseudo global version, do not update it to 11.0.257st, it brings lots of troubles. The navigation buttons work wrong, the cellular connection is unstable. All that makes the phone as a tool tp crack the nuts. I do not know how to downgrade the firmware back to 211, because Lenovo does not give the firmware.
All pushes in whatsapp and other apps fixed, if you have root and installed microG (use signature spoofing with magisk module) instead of preinstalled Gapps. I install it, set doze mode for whatsapp, send message after 1 hour of sleeping phone and message successfully showed.
