Remember guys, if software isn't working, it's the software manufacturer's job to get it fixed. In this case, I'm guessing the developers of the Pokemon game compiled it specifically for non-Intel SoC's... so you would want to send your petition to the Pokemon game developer to also compile Intel libraries.
I was in 2nd phase of the beta test and even then they never took the time to compile for x86 phones. I can't completely blame them either as it seems it's very out of the way to compile for x86 or Intel based phones as well. Another game called Fantasy War Tactics kinda had the same problem recently where they did a few updates that also broke compatibility for x86 so maybe it's not entirely their fault either. In the end we are just gonna have to wait patiently.

I think they are being lazy since a properly made app would never have issues with x86 compilation
If I had to guess it flagged the anti cheat stuff. Who knows. I'm frustrated with this phone.

Nowadays a few tablets also use Intel SoC, so I guess more and more people will start complaining and the developers will eventually have to care about compatibility and compiling for x86 platforms. If they want the game to spread, they will have to support as many systems as possible.
I'm not going to regret buying this phone just for one game. This is a smartphone, not a PS4.
The phone runs pretty good regardless of not playing a couple of games.

Why is everyone blaming the phone manufacturer?
This isn't their issue if one or two games/apps don't work as its the app developers responsibility.
Moreover pokemon go isn't supported for windows phones as well, so should we start a petition to ban microsoft?
Very sad to see these kind of posts even after knowing asus is trying its best to provide for timely updates.
Also even if pokemon go comes to support z2 we won't be able to play it for more than 1-1/2 hours in one charge due to our battery life issues.
The regret comes from Intel. Seems they pushed and then mostly abandoned this market. Sigh.

Dear Gameloft.
What have you done to this game... New update made that game even worse, many players are dissatisfied, you have lost many stars in their reviews, they comply for the same things and it keeps piling up in Google Play...
I have three problems to describe.
First of all this update totally breaks Xperia PLAY controls - touchpad acting like a real thumbstick like on PS3 or XBOX 360 controller? Very VERY bad idea, we are barely able to aim, especially in multiplayer mode. We have TOUCHpad not thumbstick,
Second problem is you made the game slower. It started to lose FPS in many places, the whole gameplay is not fluent. The previous version was so beautifully looking and so fluent... Besides, changing graphics in main menu was a total nonsense. Why add bloom, HDR, blur? It runs so slow sometimes I must push the button twice to select some options.
The third problem is your multiplayer mode. It's slow, laggy, glitchy and easy to hack with tools that instantly sets the level to 50 and also there are many hackers with autoaim, god mode... They lasted for the whole match making their team a sure winner. Many players were quitting the matches because what is the fun with being killed more than 30 times by the same person and being unable to kill him?
So my (and many other users of Xperia PLAY phones and also many older phones users) is:
- revert for the previous controls OR at least make the right touchpad aiming "swipe to aim". For example Shadowgun guys made it better - their game had the same controls in the first version of the game - right touchpad acted like real thumbstick. Many people said this game had the worst aiming EVER. After the update they improved the controls, aiming is WAY BETTER.
- make the graphics FASTER, not BETTER. We don't need super ubercharged textures, awesome and jawdropping special effects (EVEN.IN.THE.MAIN.MENU...). We just need a nice shooter game which delivers us awesome experience and fun from playing such advanced and great game on our phones.
- finally improve the multiplayer mode. Make it faster, better, safer and more balanced.
I know the "iUsers" have better support on many games released by your company mainly because of frequent updates. Many people think you just sometimes forget about Android users. We want to play and have full experience and fun too!

But i think the swipe to aim on the older version was much worse than the actual version. Thumbsticks work not bad if you get used to it and you cam turn arround much quicker wich is importend in multiplayer...

I dont understand how you could make LEFT thumbstick works as a 8-way controller like arrow keys while on-screen controls work perfectly
RIGHT touchpad is slugish and has some weird latency while on-screen, again, works perfectly.

Don't every buy a Gameloft game again. That's the only language they understand. Seriously, people, big companies are not there to serve you, they want you to serve them instead. They're deaf to you.
This is Gameloft. Myself and others notified them of a problem with Shadow Guardian that basically makes it impossible to complete the game probably 6 months ago. They have still not fixed it.
That said regarding MC3, I thought the controls improved with the update.....
Hm. I updated but haven't played the new update yet, so I'll have to check it out first.
The controls are annoying me. The buttons are direct to the other button so that you press sometimes the wrong button

Gameloft isn't competent about handling issues on iOS either.
They make the cheapest product they can make to impress the casual gamer's eye, then do whatever they must to get the most money for it without caring how "good" the product actually is.
ShadowGun released with Xperia PLAY controls FAR worse than SC:Conviction or anything Gameloft ever did... took one dedicated update, and boom!... Shadowgun's controls are on Dead Space's level.
Gameloft's a very big company... bigger than Madfinger. They can be that competent, they just choose to rush products instead. Eternal Legacy was released without the native ability to walk in a straight line on the touch-pad. They've been aware of this for nearly a year now... and done nothing about it.
This is one of the many reasons I love iOS and Apple and Gameloft

hey, i have problem with updating the MC3 to 1.1.1 when it is installed and the download has finished it wont start the game it just keep restarting itself.. any help here ? are u running the version 1.1.1 or what , and i hate gameloft because i tryed to follow their instucktions but it didnt help at all i just lost my rank and they give me this link to download MC3 v1.0.0 :/

I have conflicting report everywhere and trying to get to the bottom of it and figured developers and guys who know about this stuff would be the best to turn to
1. Is there a way to unlock the phones? Apparently the SIM card slot does exist but it's blocked off by a plastic blocker. I've been told it might be as easy as ripping the plastic blocker out, putting in a foreign sim and unlocking it using a PIN? However, from other forums I read that that's not possible.
2. Is there a place on this forum to sell merchandise or am I allowed to advertise the sale of these phones?

Pretty sure the R800x can't physically load foreign SIM cards, since it's CDMA (which doesn't use SIM cards). The hardware is just left over because they didn't want to spend a lot of money changing the specs, but it's not useable
The Marketplace didn't allow professional sellers the last time I checked.
I know this doesn't apply to all of us but as someone who is a heavy android game player waiting on my Nexus 6 has got my worried that about half my games that i have invested hours and hours and hours into will not be playable on this device.
Now sure some over time will be updated to work again. But plenty of poor devs (like EA) can't be counted on to update games that are a few years old. And it's my belief Google should make every new android update somehow programed with a way to make older apps work. Granted i know we are moving to art. But certainly there could have been a creative programming solution.
I think how great a game like Dead Space would look on a Nexus 6 and unfortunately i will never probably see it.

Couldn't tell you which game but a buddy of mine can't play one on his, nexus 7 2nd gen updated to lollipop, anymore.
But no I don't think google should make everything backwards compatible. At a certain point that's going to hinder progress when you can't change certain things because (this is overboard but) apps meant for 1.5 wouldn't work anymore.

It is not the responsibility of the developer of the OS to ensure third party games work with their updated API's, that is solely on the app/game developers. If they don't want to put the work in, then you are just out of luck unless someone programs some kind of emulator. It is what is required on desktop OS's for compatibility, I see no reason to change that for the mobile world.
Retaining legacy support for extended periods just leads to junk like Windows XP continuing to be used despite Microsoft dropping support.
It is inevitable and necessary for backward compatibility to break at some point of time otherwise all phones would still be running on android doughnut.
I understand it should be the developer that fixes it. But being most are not going to care (Ea/Gameloft) if it's a slightly older tile. It would be nice if Google had a plan b for us.
Take ms Windows. All the newer ones 7/8 have a way to run software in an older compatability mode.
Bottom line v is some companies have 40-50-60+ apps in their android library and growing. We are going to expect them to update all of them every year Google makes changes??? Or are we just going to slowly keep losing everything over time?
Your gripe is with the app developers not google. Also you say every year when google updates. That's not accurate. This is the first time in a long time that google has implemented something that would break app compatibility.

That's not accurate. When Kitkat was released i would say about 30-40% of the games I had had to be updated to work on it. Most were fixed in months i don't think we're going to be as lucky this time

Further, if you don't mind a history lesson, supporting ancients OSes long past their prime is what nearly killed Apple. Their OS X was such a smash hit in large part technically because they finally severed software support for years and years of previous OSes. People squawked initially and being cut off, but then didn't mind the dividends in performance.
Have we seen the last of support from Madcatz? They are very nice folks on the phone until you inquire into software updates the conversation becomes very short at this point? With all these great mods could they not just pay one of the devs for a update?

Nice! Impressive hardware, I like the 4GB ram and SATA port on it.. can you install apps directly on it instead of the internal storage?
Has a unbuntu port.. which is pretty cool for a portable desktop!
Pricey with no controller.. interesting to compare that with the X1 shield.

I like Mojo Hardware the controller is great. I'll know in the future not to buy anything that requires software from them. And Ouya the company with no management can you believe they ordered more Tegra 3 consoles in 2015? The sad thing is there are games with allot of talent on Ouya. I don't understand how a company stays in business with no public relations or marketing? Maybe they will emerge as a consulting firm for what not to do when you start business:cyclops:
So I'm running CM 12, and I can tell you that the only reason my MOJO is still in my house is because of this ROM. The hardware is great, and CM 12 fixes a lot of software issues with stock ROM. However, features like a game mapper should have been added. Mad Catz is a terrible company and I promise to never by another product from them again.
The controller is nice, but I can't play the games I want to play because the controller is not supported. This is why Mad Catz should have created a game mapper. Also, I miss vibration.
How about this, OUYA and Mad Catz Team up to make their next product. Even if this happened I would purchase the Shield because I can't trust novice companies like OUYA.

So are you going with Obox or Shield? I still like Obox because it's upgradable but Shield is Nvidia??? I can't make up my mind
Definitely the Shield. One reason is the price at $199, and another reason is to get that game streaming service which is similarly priced to Playstation Network/Xbox live. I can get PC games without buying a PC

Yeah the shield for sure!
X1 and the new shield library at the announcement looks great (ie the doom pack) and a controller and it's AndroidTV.
The obox will have the K1 at launch and will have a harddrive! and be modular , so you can (in theory) swap it out with a X1.. whether that happens is a gamble.. ie mojo getting kitkat:silly:
Tronsmart Draco Telnos is impressive because of the hardware and a linux port
Edit, Me personally, I think the MOJO is good enough hardware and software and with ports of CM12 and AndroidTV even more so.

I liked ouya from the start, but when the dev kits came out and saw how cheap the controllers were with missing start/select buttons then the free the funds scam then no need to make it free.. nah..
I'm surprised people are buy the hardware, let alone the games!
I'm guessing ouya must have a shelf presences at big chain stores.. mah:silly:
They might fold someday and get bought out by someone like snail games which is making the obox

Shatshi Matrix is still on CM12. I've posted the updated Ouya Everywhere apks in the Ouya Fourms. He is currently testing to see if the updated files will work on CM12 and will hopefully post positive results.

Was trying to wait for Shatshi Matrix to report the results, but haven't heard anything. Since there have been a few that downloaded the updated OuyaApk files and have been quiet, I figured I'd update the MOJO and find out for myself.
End Result: The update OuyaApks (1.2.897) ARE WORKING with CM12.
So once again you can have OUYA EVERYWHERE on MOJO but now with lollipop, and now use apps that manage overscan that is supported on Lollipop.

This will be my first time flashing a OS on Android manually. I noticed there are a couple methods that can be used. Which is the easiest with good documentation for a newbie? I am looking forward to the CM mod as I hear it's great? Also would anyone be willing to assist me with the the Ouya install not sure where to get the source files? I do have some games from Ouya I would like to keep. Thanks for your patience with me I did manage to root so this can't be that difficult :silly:

1) I used an app from the play store called "Flashify" to backup kernel, and recovery.
2) I placed the latest build, recommended gapps onto an sd card from the CM12 page. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=57575652&postcount=1
3) I used "Flashify" to enter recovery mode and followed the installation instructions from the CM12 page.
4) After installation and setup I installed the updated OuyaApks I posted here. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=59461876&postcount=51
From here, currently I'm trying to restore root. Still looking through the forums to see if there are existing answers before trying something on my own. Good luck with your upgrade.

Root is included in CM 12 rom, look in settings privacy. I think its called privacy guard.

Okay I followed above. I copied zip file to sdcard. Downloaded flashify. In flashify I ran backup no problem. I then choose flash from zip, choose mod file, in pop up choose wipe per instructions. It then asks if I want to boot to recovery, I select yes. It then boots to recovery starts to flash and says error. I then reboot it goes back to stock rom? I obviously am probably missing something stupid :cyclops: What am I missing?
I just found the shield TV was an officially supported device by Remix os.
there is the ROM http://www.jide.com/remixos/devices/shieldtv
it seems it is lollipop based and have no hardware acceleration yet.
did someone tried it and is willing to give a feedback?

This remix os version is for the Shield Pro, it's lollipop based so if anyone's on marshmallow and want to try it, you will have to downgrade in order to install

in the other hand jide just leaked some info about remix 3.0 marshmallow.
that will be released very soon.
Remix is still a little glitchy & controller does not work wirelessly. Every other time Play Store is opened one must uninstall Play update, can be solved by installing the latest Play Store apk

Ho OK thx. Yes the controller and play store was expected.it is not the first that have this problem (Zulu roms)
Nvidia need to release the driver,they will make less holding back the controller wifi driver,as all it seems is a vain attempt to promote geforce now sales and percentage earnings via play store etc on shield tv.The chances are the units would fly off the shelves far faster than they ever would make more selling the games in a cloud subscription gaming service by miles,I'd see it as it would gain us notoriety for the hardware if I were a boss there,and that's everything brand recognition trumps trying to sell subscriptions to a sparse game library,and android tv os is just so young and uninteresting to some developers I am picturing it,this is why they are not rebuilding or porting current libraries of apps and games to the os.They probably see it more rewarding to keep with the standard os than plug money into an unknown variable,unless of course the fault lies with googles turn around on verifying the allready ported apps and games,this confuses me why is android tv os so sparse on apps and games and where does the blame lie in versions of apps and games for the android tv os lie anyway google and or the developer can someone elaborate where the blame goes please as I am confused what the problem is?

I assume for the play store the problem is from Google..
they offer different licencing for basically the same thing as Android..
but they have split Android and Android TV only because they wanted to earn more money.
splitting the licencing mean 2 time the money for them...
protecting a different experiences for living rooms.
for streaming stuff and controller you can blame nvidia for promoting their proprietary services and technology.
the cloud,the streaming and their "high "bandwidth "controllers.
Ah now I get it it's due to greed,make money by calling the same thing a different thing by slapping a launcher in it and saying yeah you can list your game in android tv os as well,but you know it's a different thing to normal android os because it's tv os! But actually it's android with a different shell they charge you again for just to list in the same play store for it,that's what people where i live call pure skank lol :good: thumbs up goolge no wonder everyone isn't jumping on the development side of this cash cow all at once lmfao,why the heck would you discourage before encourage if the aim is profit here???But thanks for this insight I never realized they'd do such a thing,it's theoretically a bit unbecoming of a open source os owner to start cashing in twice a time in my opinion it's a little bit cruel,maybe if they'd say earn your 1st year before paying a fee that would be better for anyone coming in as a first time publisher of apps or games,instead of being told give me your money then I'll list your game or app,who cares if it's not affordable because all your time and effort is spent making the app or game come to fruition for the purpose of then publishing it.Or even better incentives is 1 years free publishing and then a fee is paid regardless if you take it down or not,it gives a push to put good stuff up and not lowsy stuff otherwise you make nothing to pay with in the first year,why not work it door swings both ways like that,or a 2 year grace period is even better,it would mean better quality product is likely made,and money for the developer to afford to pay is highly likely at that stage.
I almost made a new topic for this, but decided to revive this one instead. Jide just released v3 of Remix OS for the Google Pixel C...... which has the same CPU/GPU as the Shield TV does, so theoretically this should make it a hell of a lot easier to get it working on the Shield.
I've been using it on my Pixel for about the past 48 hours and I absolutely love it. I'm trying to re-arrange my PCs in my apartment and I'm looking for a high performance, low power PC to put in my bedroom as a replacement for my Steam Machine (currently streaming stuff from it to the Shield in the living room), and the Shield with Remix would be the perfect candidate since I already know it suits my needs and is really snappy.
The question is, who's up to the challenge to get it to work? I know nothing about Android development, but I'm more than willing to help with development and provide anything necessary off of the Pixel, which shouldn't be a problem since I have Remix OS currently rooted

I guess they will release a V3 to Shield TV soon, so I dont think thats neccessary.

I dont understand? All my apps that I bought originally for standard Android devices work fine without having to rerpurchase. This even goes for apps I bought a few years back. I dont see Google splittimg licencing between devices, rather the opposite. And thats why Im perfectly happy with my Shield TV. If you look at Apple, they did what you talk about, releasing phone / tablet and I guess ATV versions of apps making customers have to repurchase.
Remix os uses a different license than android
They still have to release the source code, the kernel is Linux and the OS is Android, both are open source and licensed under the GPL so by law they have to release the source code of at least that, which is the major part we need. Also Nvidias drivers and source code are released so what are we really missing? I just read the article on XDA and its talking about Android-X86, but this is Android ARM, which is a different beast. Jide mentioned that they hosted their code on github, but surprise, surprise its empty https://github.com/jide-opensource. This seems to be their real repository: https://github.com/JideTechnology
Also I wouldn't be too sure of them releasing it for the shield since they already sell their own desktop/media center device.
Edit: looks like I was wrong Android is licensed under the Apache license, which means that a company can take the source code, modify it and change the license but the still have to release the code for the unmodified parts
Still me thinks it shouldn't be too difficult since they're using the same CPU and GPU, but the pixel is essentially a Chromebook and the shield has no screen or touch input, just an HDMI port, so it may be way more difficult than I think.

I have been searching around to buy a tablet mostly for home use,my wife is going to be using it most of the times for some googling,emails ,pdf etc. I found a really good deal in a refurbished android version yoga book but I'm not that sure if it's worth nowadays since as I have read it only updated to android 7. Is she going to have issues with some apps like Facebook,insta, netflix?

I have this unit for 3 years now and it’s still working.
From the beginning it had problems, for example it shuts down and reboot from time to time, when you want to cast something it freezes and some apps don’t work anymore. For googling and emails I don’t have any problem.
Would I recommend a Lenovo unit? I won’t, because they never given updates or solved the software problems.
I have a yoga book and my co-worker’s have an Android pro tablet from Lenovo and they also never received a update. The hardware is good but you never get an update even not a security update. I hope it help with your decision.

Those, probably not, but I can't get modern casual games like merge dragons to run on the stupid thing. So if she plays that kind of game, it might not be the way to go.
As i am enthusiast on modding stuff, i like my hardware open to custom stuff. While the lenovo is not closed (you can unlock the bootloader) we had a dead scene. So i would not recommend this piece of hardware. In XDA your better strategy is to search on for devices that the community is alive AKA: popular devices and brands, like Samsung or Sony. Cause even if the moto maxx was spec wise MUCH better than the Xperia Z3 on paper, we had a different story here, the xperia comunity was skyrocketing and doing great where the moto maxx was a zombie device at its best.
TL : DR If you don't need to debloat it or do anything special to it its kinda of a solid device .
