xt1611 bricked - Huawei Ascend XT Questions & Answers

hello and thanks in advance. I recently installed twrp on my device and somehow deleted entire os. while in twrp I was informed of this but as luck would have it experienced a power outage, phone died and now adb is not finding device. since deleting os is it possible to get comp to locate it? all I get is the blue led and if I try to volume down power to boot recovery ligts go out. I do get a chime saying something is connected to comp but I cannot locate it. any advice would be great.

Have you tried to follow instructions to reflash TWRP? Can you put the phone in bootloader/fastboot mode?

no all I have is a black screen but but blue led is on. no recovery mode and device not found by way of computer

Try putting it in fastboot mode with this method:

Does the phone screen show fastboot mode in title?
Let me know what happened.

as I stated earlier the only sign of life is the blue led. no screen sound or vibration nor does it seem to have anything but attemptin the adb by buttons did cause the blue led to turn off. its using battery as if smething is running its like a completely clean slate nothing at all

Unclear to me if you tried my post instructions to get into fastboot mode. If that's not working, I'm not sure what can be done other than sending phone to Huawei for repair. Maybe someone else has another idea? Good luck

Maybe missing something here but if can get to TWRP, power off then on holding volume up, you can flash any rom. Not volume down on my phone to get to TWRP, is volume up.

Good catch on the volume up button.
Original H1611 bootloader unlock and TWRP flashing instructions which cover key sequence to get into TWRP:

I cannot get to recovery mode. My computer is not finding device by way of adb. Is there a way to push by way of command prompt and force it on to device?

No way if you don't have adb working. Again, if you hold volume up button while pressing power on button, then release power on button as soon as you see boot screen, do you get recovery screen?

No screen reaction at all. Only the led when connected by us to computer it seems to charge and led stays lit blue after fully charged and red when still charging. I was hoping maybe there was a shell comand that would maybe push data enough to get into recovery at least.

Can't get into fastboot/bootloader, bricked?

I was using the Nexus 7 Toolkit, and used the option to boot into a recovery without flashing, on CWM 6.0.3.6. The device already had TWRP installed, but would not boot into it.
Now, I am stuck at the CWM screen with a "Warning: No file_contexts", and no commands available to me.
If I try to use the power/vol up/vol down combo to boot into fastboot, the device reboots, shows the Google splash screen for a second, and goes right back into the "busted" CWM. This happens regardless of the button combos, even if I just hold power for a while to try to boot normally.
Even though I'm partially in CWM, it's not recognized over usb via ADB, and I obviously can't get into fastboot to get it recognized that way. It was recognized correctly before.
If it matters, I had PA and TWRP installed before this happened.
Help!
Update: I let the battery drain itself dry overnight. After a re-charge and power on, still boots into the non-functional CWM. No fastboot/bootloader, even with the right key combo.
It's like I need to find some way to clear out of this temporary recovery that the toolkit created.
Similar problem
Does anyone have any insight on this one. I have a similar problem. A tablet was brought to me from a friend that is doing this. His son was "rooting" it when it developed this symptom. Looks like he was using CF-Auto-Root. When powering on you get the google screen then this auto root android screen and it loops. See screenshot.
I have been unable to boot the device any other way. Have tried fastboot and recovery many times with no success. When trying for fastboot with holding power, Volume up, and Volume down you get the Google screen once then black screen then Google again and it kicks back into the loop. Same as above poster every combination of button press/hold with or without USB has no effect other than the double Google screen as stated.
Device is not recognized on USB at any stage in this loop during my many attempts at fastboot or recovery.
Same as above if I could get it to do anything other than the loop like fastboot or recovery I think I can work it out what he has done.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Bump, anyone have thoughts on this? If I could just get into fastboot I'd be good, but the normal key combos do nothing, and I can't issue a reboot fastboot command since the PC won't recognize the device.
And yes, I'm sure I have my drivers set up correctly.
Anybody? What causes a device to not be able to boot to fastboot or recovery. If I can't fix it I would like to know why.
Looks like we might be hosed here. Don't see to many post on here that don't get some suggestions.
Yeah, even after letting the battery drain completely, I can only get into the hosed recovery mode, with no functions available. Fastboot key combos do nothing. I'm still stuck.
Can't anyone shed some light on this? Am I hardbricked? Would a picture of the recovery that I get into help?
Here is the only screen I can get into, regardless of key combos held during start up. This first happened after booting into temp recovery.

I wouldn't think so; I have let the battery drain to dry by leaving it on that recovery screen until dead, and it just boots right back into it regardless.

Yes. It doesn't get recognized/doesn't connect via adb, so no commands work. And I'm positive it's not a driver issue.

I was on 4.3 PA and tried jumping up to CM11, this appears to have happened to me. Interesting...
Are you unable to get into fastboot by holding down volume up volume down and power? I did this, then used the root toolkit and was able to flash stock 4.4. Back up and running now.
No, vol up + vol down + power does nothing for me except get into this recovery.
Bumping this one more time. Anyone have any ideas?

Verizon G2 Stuck in Bootloop.

Hey guys,
So I got my G2 today and rooted it using the recommended root thread(IOroot10). It completed successfully and installed SU onto my device. It didn't actually ask for any permissions when i opened it and when I attempted to update the binaries it fails because I never get the toast about granting permission. So I factory reset and tried again. It didn't work the second time either. I thought maybe it's because I didn't take the latest OTA, so I factory reset one more time, took the OTA, and am now stuck in boot. I can't get to any recovery or download mode.
The phone boots the LG logo then gives me a boot loader secure check real fast that it fails. After that it goes to a black screen and there's nothing I can do.
When I plug the phone in and let it get to the black screen, it creates a ton of virtual USB drives (16 to be exact). The first one contains a write protected folder named image which contains the files modem.bxx, mlserver.bxx, mc_b2.bxx, adsp.bxx, cmnlib.bxx, dxhdcp2.bxx, isdbtm,.bxx,
mba.bxx, playread.bxx, tqs.bxx, wcnss.bxx, widevine.bxx, where the xx in .bxx is replaced with sequences of 00 up to 26 in some cases. The rest of the drives it creates are empty.
Any sign of a recovery is completely gone, and I have no idea where it went
This is what appears in the top left of the screen when the LG splash pops up for a split second and goes black

Things I've tried:
+Completely power off:
-Hold Vol Up and plug phone in (doesn't work)
-Factory Hard Reset (doesn't work)
-Hold Vol Up + Down and plug phone in (doesn't work)
-Power on, press Vol Up at vibrate (doesn't work)
+The phone never makes it to a point where I can ADB into it. I get the splash screen(with error) and straight to the black screen.
+Completely drain the battery and plug it back in to charge up. I end up with the same issue.
+Fastboot will not recognize the device, so flashing the recovery that way isn't an option.
-Could be a driver issue, but I think the phone just never makes it to a point where I can use fastboot.

Perhaps I'm missing something in that thread, but none of it applies to me.
The link to the other thread for if you can't get into download mode only talks about having TWRP installed on the device, which I don't.
And the rest of it is if you have ADB access, which I don't as well.

To get into download mode the G2 needs to be connected to the computer and upon turning on immediately press volume up. Compared to other devices, it's a weird way to do and may take a couple of tries to successfully boot into.

I'm still having no luck. I've read nearly 4 different ways to enter download mode for the vzw version and none of them have worked yet.
Holding the power button itself just restarts the device and it heads right back into the black screen. If I continue to hold the power button after it restarts, I get the LG splash again and then it shuts off.
It seems like the stock recovery is completely gone, but I don't understand why I wouldn't be able to get into download mode because of that.

The device itself will not turn off without me holding the power+up button for around ten seconds. Holding the power button itself just restarts the device and it heads right back into the black screen.

Try keeping USB plugged into both computer and phone. Hold power button down, as soon as u feel the haptic feedback from the reboot hold down the vol+ button.

truckroot, that does indeed work, I actually messed with my build.prop file today and it soft bricked my phone. It would turn on you'd see the LG logo and a black screen, man I was livid. So later I was going to to have it replaced under warranty, I called Verizon and what not and he told me to press this button combo and I got straight into CWM, holy crap that was quite an easy fix for me. Here is the key combo under "Alternate Method"

I dont know what happened but I rebooted my phone today and it booted into fastboot.. I cannot in any way get it to boot normally. The buttons are not being held down and I have tried to pull the battery.. I dont get it, anyone else have this issue and fixed it have an idea??
Was it stock (including recovery) or modified?
I would try to fastboot the TWRP over and then boot into that (Power & Vol+). But then... I seldom run stock.

No, it wasn't stock and I dont know what happened.. I was running the latest CM13 and rebooted this morning and it freezes up with the ASUS logo and saying "Fastboot Mode!!!" at the top... Phones boots into fastboot mode in two situations
1. Pressing vol up and power button simultaneously for rebooting
2. Your phone doesn't have recovery AND any OS installed
I guess your vol up button is constantly in pressed state.
Second situation cannot occur unless you wipe your system and recovery manually. So you are in the first situation
Your phone's vol up button is constantly in pressed state or electrically shorted may be due to water entering the case
Solution: You will have to open your phone's case and clean the area near the volume button. I guess you had opened the case/body and didn't fit it properly.

Reinstall twrp from fastboot & install rom

Having some big problems - Need help please!!!!!

I got a replacement device from OP and I was unlocking the bootloader and rooting it. The guide i used had the incorrect patched boot image and everything went bad quick.
I can't go anywhere except fastboot now, can't boot to OS, no OS installed.
TWRP WAS booting from fastboot, I pushed the rom from there and flashed it...said no OS installed after, I installed it on both slots.
I can't get into EDL mode, the volume keys work...I think, but the second I let go of them when it's plugged in it defaults back to fastboot immediately. I tried the bat file that people use, says it worked, phone stays in fastboot.
I even tried holding the volume keys the entire time but the MSM tool wouldn't read it enough to flash anything, although it did read it enough to register some data, but was stuck on "waiting for device".
I am in need of some major help. Now I can't even temp boot to twrp, getting an error failed authorization. I'm afraid I really messed things up.
I have 5 days to send my old device back. Please help!
May be a longshot, but does the stock recovery work? Maybe try sideloading the full OTA zip from there?
Sent from my IN2025 using Tapatalk
For EDL mode, you need to hold the buttons then plug it in while continuing to hold the buttons. It won't work if the phone is already plugged into a usb port and then you try and get into EDL.
Really hard to brick a OnePlus device in my experience.

OnePlus 6T - Stuck in "unlocked boot loader" screen - cannot go to fastboot mode

So I was trying to flash a rom on this phone for the first time, I failed miserably...
Was following instructions from this thread: [ROM][OFFICIAL] Omnirom Q for OnePlus6T [Every Sunday]
After flashing the omnirom.zip I immediately tried to reboot in recovery and ended-up in a boot loop (see attached image).
I tried multiple times to go back to fastboot mode with vol-up-power combination, it did'nt worked. Always boot back to that screen.
I tried all imaginable combinations of buttons and timing but always ened-up on that screen... exept just one time where I finally ended-up in fast boot.
I dont know how I did it!
So then I pushed TWRP, I saw that the ROM's files were in both partitions, wiped the data and rebooted and returned to that same "unlocked boot loader" screen.
I've been stuck here for 3 days now, I want to go back to fastboot mode so I can push TWRP and restore my nandroid backup.
Anybody knows how I can do this?
Try holding power, volume up and down all at the same time without any cable plugged in to shut it down then while holding the volume up button plug the USB cable that's connected to your computer in. It should boot to bootloader screen.

Well I'm grateful that I was able to get the device shut down without a hot dead battery. I wasn't able to get it into fastboot by the volume up and plug in. I'm thankful it's off. Do you have any other ideas Im not concerned about data at all. I just would like to get my device back up and running..
