Kernel Adiutor Settings (~8h sot and colour profiles) - LeEco Le 2 Guides, News, & Discussion

Kernel profiles are just useful if you use overload kernel for nougat or get adreno idler somehow.
Separate Colour profile amoled, night and day:
- just contents a display profile to set colour to vivid or night or an in between day setting
I now realized that phones really need many cores instead of my pc because running lots of cores at a small frequency is much better then less cores with high and heating frequencies, lol.
Fluidness of Game profile checked with pes manager at high def and regless racing 2, I know there is tougher gpu stuff out there, but ehm ah just forget about it
All thanx to Mr Renji for his wonderful highly recommended kernel and I don't think these settings would work this well without his optimizations.
Thx again, and again, and again to Mr. Daniel for almost making us feel like we had bought a bitcoin last year
I am also using high performance accu profile in settings, no need for me to change back and forth for good battery drain.

Gaming: geekbench 1000/3400 antutu 69000
Additional settings:
One stepping is corrected from 79 to 150 mb in the final.zip!
:highfive: :victory:  :highfive: :victory:
Profiles as seen above in profiles combo final zip.
If you need more power maybe first switch from hexa to octa core in cpu hotplug section :good:
For those who don't like changing profiles and with improved adreno settings: https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=75927595&postcount=44

Thx, I'm keen on over, under and elsewhere clocking since nvidia 6800 LE.
Just give me some settings sliders
Edit: After all I can't believe what kind of a great performance and battery drain can be delivered with a 28nm cpu, with a good os and optimzations

Hi, can we apply these profiles to any kernel and any rom, or it is specific to overload??

Hey, I think it is better than the standart frequency settings, overload does cpu undervolt and gives adreno idler, which is reducing msm adreno tz governor to very low gpu frequency in unused diplay moments... which seems to be very useful. Just if I understand erverything right
Added a vivid max display setting I am using for gaming in the beginning post. Happy X-Mas out there :good:

You can easily go to profiles and choose import instead of create in kernel adiutor.
They should contain just a few changes for cpu, cpu hotplug and gpu, no risk

I now remember that you will have "problems" with system profile, because there is no relaxed governor for big cores usually (added by overload kernel) maybe you should choose on demand there, which should be a bit more energy saving than interactive... just guessing

Lol because it would be annoying telling every new group member everything again and again maybe?
And on xda every post which is older then the last three gets ignored, which leads to the telling again and again, too.

Features:
Massive+stable 1400 MHz Overclock (tested on several phones and found to be stable if you don't use SetCPU or any other CPU frequency setter)
Voodoo Sound v4 (v5 coming soon)
A cool boot screen
A cool name
Gingerbread-ful
Built with codesourcery's ARM-EABI 2010.09 Toolchain for more optimizations than the stock CM7 kernel
Kernel HZ set to 1000 for buttery-smoothnessitude
How to use it: Flash it through ClockworkMod recovery like you would any other ROM. After you've booted, get SetCPU here and then open it, switch your governor to conservative, and then set your min frequency to 100MHz.
Oh! Did I mention its fully opensource?! https://github.com/ytt3r/android_kernel_samsung has the stuff
Please report any issues you have with the kernel here

Changed kernel HZ to 1000 for buttery-smoothness and not much increased battery drain. Not like you'd worry about that on an overclocked kernel, right?
Compiled with Codesourcery's ARM-EABI 2010.09 Toolchain for more buttery-smoothness. How much more can it take?!
Looking forward to see where this goes!
Edit: I can only assume this is I9000 based bc all of the ROMS myself and others build are also I9000 based. Is that an appropriate assumption?
Is this compatible with fugu tweaks?

/me facepalms I forgot to mention CM7, should be edited now
downloading now
just wondering if it was necessary to disable to make work
So this is oc to 1400 and can not be adjusted using voltage control, just run with it
CM7
Sounds about right!
How does battery life with this kernel compare to the battery life of stock cm7 nightlies, or the battery life with TheEscapists OC-UV kernel?
So I'm a little curious.. how would you set what OC you want? Would you just set it to 1.3 or 1.4Ghz and not mess with UV settings at all?

Back on Froyo, my phone couldn't even handle 1300MHz, now it easily gets to 1400 and the battery life is plenty for me UV is not implemented yet.

So it it gonna be running 1.4Ghz all the time or will the frequencies only go to max when required?
You can set the CPU governor in SetCPU, as long as you don't set the frequencies.
In answer to your question, it defaults to ondemand. (So it varies based on how much power you need.)

Hi,
Can anyone explain if hotplug_on(hotplug ticked under CPU hotplug settings) has any effect if governor is set to pegasusq?
i can see only cpu0 is always active with this kernel,
is this normal behaviour for this kernel?
and also i cannot set sched_mc to 2 , it always revert back to 0
is it normal?

I fill fix sched_mc issue in the next version. but even after having it fixed I do not recommend you to use it if you do not have a reason. I applied that patch to have ARCH_POWER and sched_mc is there just for those who wants to experiment. but according to my experience there is no use of setting it to 1 or 2.
about cpu0, it should be active.. but if you mean only one core is active and not others pegasusq governor is a bit tweaked to activate the other cores a little harder than the original one.
if you run a stability test or benchmark you will see that the others become active as well.
and for extweaks hotplugging settings: they are only effective with ondemand and other "old" governors for now.
I will make 1,2,3-core modes available for pegasusq and hotplug governors later.
What are the recommended settings for governers etc?
Thanks for your explanation,
i am using stability test app from market,
i only see 2 cpu there

In this folder delete .active.profile and battery.profile and reboot.

[GUIDE] OnePlus One Uber Battery Savings Guide by oscarandjo

We all know that OnePlus One's 3100 mAh battery and ROM optimizations clearly has given the flagship killer the edge in battery life over its competitors.(puny yureka)
But there is always room for improvement.
Reddit user oscarandjo has published a great guide on various battery saving techniques.
The OnePlus One has a brilliant battery, it's a large battery combined with an efficient processor and that leads to great standby and screen on times. This is why the OnePlus One has one of the best battery lives of all of the current flagships.
There are of course many things you can do to make the battery better, most of these things involve turning useful features off. This guide isn't one where you disable all things that make a smartphone smart, instead it makes small changes that make a big difference.
Many of these methods require root, if you aren't rooted yet and are a technical person get it done ASAP using this guide
This guide doesn't include any basic methods like turning aeroplane mode on in poor signal areas, it's more technical methods.

All of these I already know but it seems like a good guide for people who are new to android.
Some more important things to consider are hotplugging and under clocking.
Underclocking obviously saves battery by reducing the max CPU clock speed and is much more effective than undervolting.
Hotplugging takes up the most battery depending on the type of hotplugging used.
MPDecision is Qualcomm's method of hotplugging and is aggressive but does not respect the max freq when its under clocked. You need MSMLimiter for it to work properly.
Intelliplug has multiple variants in which some allow you to set the min and max number of cores and others which have predefined profiles. Its fast but lags with dt2w.
Alucard hotplug seems the most efficient because stock settings allow for smoothness and battery savings.
My favorite is MSM MPDecision because it allows you to set the number of cores online at any time while respecting other parameters. I find that if you set a max and min of 2 cores online at any time and use the slim CPU governor with gboost disabled, under clocked to 1.5ghz, you get amazing screen on time with zero lag. Approximately an hour every ten percent while being smooth as butter.
Edit: hey @llcooljerry! Nice to see you here on xda for a change!

[TWEAKS]: Motorola Stock / PA 5.0.2 Basic Tweaks

Hello Everyone,
I would like to share with you'll a few Basic Tweaks that outperformed on my Motorola Stock 5.0.2 Rom (Dual-Sim). These tweaks are aimed at Battery/Performance. Interested people can give a try.
Disclaimer: I am not responsible for any Soft/Hard bricks. Try at your own risk.
I am bad at explanations, so i attach the screenshots that explains them all. I recommend "Device Control" app for applying these tweaks. But again if you are a die-hard fan of some other app then you can try with that.
Precautions:
Before proceeding prefer clearing all older tweaks from kernel tweaker app and make a Reboot. Do not keep multiple kernel tweaker apps, as the settings may conflict.
Furthermore, you may disable few system apps like MotoCare, Checkin, OTA so on which unnecessarily be running in background and hogging your CPU as well as RAM.
NOTE: Do not alter the value of Dalvik VM heap size as i suspect it to cause bootloop. So, if you are trying these tunables on Custom ROM then keep the Dalvik VM heap size untouched.

PA Tweaks
Exodus/Bliss Tweaks
I usually get 6 hours SOT w/ Stock 5.0.2 and 4 hours SOT with any other custom ROM. Gonna try your fixes and report soon!
So, it says STOCK on title but does it work on Custom Lollipop ROM's? Like CM12 based ones?
PS: I saw your values for governor on PA thread
Ok, nice guide.
Can I ask you or anyone to post default moto g settings or say chow to set it to default if something won't be as good as expected so we/me can change it back to original state ?
Also I have found that after restart I have to set CPU frequency, governor and I/O schedulers again because it's set back to default.

Thanks for the appreciation.
For reverting to default values uncheck the "apply on reboot" option in the app. And make a reboot. That will bring back to stock default values.

Yes you can use the same but experience may vary over different ROMs. I am currently experimenting with on PA. Once i find the best set of values i will update it here.
Thanks for tip.
So far so good, feels like it's colder than before and holds battery better.
Hello again.
Just for the people on Xperience ROM and kernel, did this tweaks work for you? I'm on that ROM and still getting hardly 4 SOT but not as much as the OP got in PA ROM.
Btw, OP, could you try best settings for CM12 official? Or they'd rather be the same?
Cheers
Few tweaks that I found fair for battery / performance for Paranoid. More focused towards battery. I get 5:45-6:30 hrs of sot. The rest of settings remain same. You can adjust Auto Fstrimming to 2 hrs.
P.S you can avoid using TASKER settings because i just found that "screen_on" profile settings aren't getting applied sometimes in Custom ROMs.

Governor : Interactive
Min sample time 60000
Hispeed freq 384000
Sample down factor 60000
Timer rate 20000
Above hispeed 20000
Boost 60000
Hi speed load 50
My experience
Hello there, this is what I reached so far using Attack kernel and adding some changes like fiops I/O and 192 Mhz as min CPU freq.
I followed you recent changes on PA combined with the ones on the first post.
Cheers.
PS: I'm on crDroid, latest build.
after reboot it will be revert to default settings.
how fix it?
thanks.

Longest run!
ROM: crDroid
kernel: Optimus R5 with inelliplug, fiops, DT2W and S2W deactivated
+ all the tweaks posted by OP so far.
Cheers.
Hello, @==vj==
I think there is a screenshot missing there in first post. The first options under CPU Config> CPU Governor Tuning. I mean, the ones before "highspeed_freq".
Cheers.
Can you suggest me ondemand governor settings?

Hi guys sorry. I forgot I was authoring a thread [emoji14] lol
Few fresh minor tweaks that boosted off my battery life without losing smoothness of the ROM. Make way to choose a kernel of your choice
Straightway to the tweaks I prefer. Tested on Bliss/Exodus. Governor: Smartmax. Scheduler: fiops. Read ahead: 384. Freq range: 300mhz-1190mhz. Force GPU rendering.
OR
A more conservative Smartmax.
Did this APP lost some features, or I did something wrong?

Recently, this app updated to a version in which labels for each configuration are the real line of code you find inside the file you are setting. So labels differ now from what OP posted but you can find them by filter some words I guess.
Cheers

How much SOT have you been getting ? Also mention if its only wifi or only 3g data or both. If both please somehow try to mention a rough ratio.

Maybe a noob question but, how can I set the 96MHz of minimum frecuency? The minimun for me is 300MHz, this depends on kernel?
