I get massive delay when I got to open the gallery to look at photos when I am inside the camera app. Anyone have any ideas as to why and how to solve it?
Surely I am not the only one with this issue? In fact I know I am not.

Same problem here with up to 5 sec complete freezes when opening gallery. No idea what to begin with.
The vast majority of samsung devices have this issue. You could try the lenovo super csmera, comes with its own gallery and I have to say I prefer the camera

As for a fix, a highly optimized rom would be an answer.
Same here.
Only a second or two for me
Tolerable. Using NOVA, doubt that makes a difference.
For me it was because Gallery was syncing with Dropbox. I enabled the sync OUTSIDE of the Gallery and now when I choose gallery, it loads much much quicker for me
Does your gallery settings have sync/display of synced content? I feel like that is the culprit

Re the ROM, I holding out hope of a soonish CMW release.
PS. Glad to see Gerrard back on the scoring books.
No lag at all from my Exynos version. I don't sync my pics with any service btw.

I have a solution for gallery lagging issue
THE BEST SOLUTION I FOUND IS DOWNLOAD
"QUICKPIC" this app is fast!!!
I have this lag issue... It's quite concerning that this incredibly expensive device has so much lag... I have found no solution to date and I have tried multiple roms. I'm also experiencing lag in camera and Multi tasking menu. As well as not good battery life... What a shame.

BTW on my phone I have a 5-6 second delay to open the picture and then another 3 to share it or just see the other menu options...
I have a solution, now that Xposed works on Samsung LP roms, I use the "Samsung camera any gallery fix". Then I select "Quickpick" from playstore (free) to open the gallery from the camera.

Wow, nice! just installed the Samsung camera any gallery fix and change the camera default gallery apps to quickpic, now it really fast!
So on my 6p, all the pictures I'm taking are storing upside down. Any ideas? I'm using the default camera app.
Now with YouTube video...
First nexus and this really leaves a bad taste in my mouth with Google. Might be going back to Samsung .
https://youtu.be/qKWrIj0irpU
Guess you haven't checked the news lately.. Here is an whole article on this issue. http://www.androidcentral.com/google-reveals-why-some-photos-taken-nexus-5x-are-upside-down
Also, someone posted a potential fix in Google Forums.....the fix is to gently squeeze your screen against the back all around the places. I did that and it works. Now rotation works on my 6p. Hope this helps other people that have the same problem
That link didn't help. This is with the stock camera app.
The picture is right side up on the display but when it snaps it saves it upside down. Ridiculous.
Try to clear cache on the Camera app and give it a try again, also try to use another app and see if you have same results.
Tried clearing cache, didn't work. Tried restarting too , nothing. Argh. If I have to rma this I'm not going to keep it. Such a ridiculous problem to have
Installed third party app. Pics still upside down.
Argh
Same problem on the Nexus 6P. Have been using for more than 2 weeks now and pictures have saved fine. But just today the pictures turned upside down on the Google camera app.
Yes it may be an issue with the camera being installed upside down, but Google should have addressed the issue on the stock cam app at least. Since the update on the 12th Nov the camera is upside down! And saying we should message developers to make sure they account for us Nexus 6p and 5x owners is unbelievable!

What do you mean by press the screen? Do you mean the camera visor or the front *screen*? How hard do you press it and how does this fix it? I've tried pressing it all over on the back the stock Google camera is saving both front and back pics upside down.

Found the solution! The gravity sensor got stuck. Don't put the phone near magnets.
Giving the back of the phone a firm tap on the palm of your hand few times should "fix" it. Don't drop the phone. See here: https://productforums.google.com/d/msg/nexus/pEUHkUA_VRo/vA-ZeC7DBwAJ
I don't think my issue is the gyro sensor. I used the regular camera and that works fine. However with another camera it flips it upside down.
The issue doesn't make a whole lot of sense and you've tried pretty much everything. I think your best course of action is to contact support immediately, you'll probably need a replacement device.

@bobwonderful , that is a separate issue some camera apps use the old API apparently or something along them lines whereby they don't account for the app to adjust if the camera is held upside down. So apparently we Nexus 6P and 5x owners have to message each camera developer and ask them to include that in their code or use the new camapi2 which is unbelievable. I've emailed 2 cam app devs about this issue and if they could do a simple update, as I had paid for those cam apps but didn't get any replies at all. It's been near 2 months now.
The firm tapping was for the stock Google camera which does account for the camera being installed upside on both phones. The tapping helps release the gyro sensor.

Haha glad my reply helped you I went mad looking everywhere trying to resolve the issue. I still use my in car magnet dash, I think the gyro may have got stuck by some other means. Haven't had the problem since. I've found few new camera apps that don't have this upside down issue since the stock cam app doesn't have many features.

Snapchat Cam (reduced quality though)
And well Google stock Cam. Haven't tried anymore cam apps.

I'm on the stock Google cam and just out of the blue today my pics were upside down. But now everything is great
Had the phone since this past Sunday and have only charged it one time. Phone came delivered with 100% battery straight from Amazon. I literally am dumbfounded as to how efficient this thing is and how snappy and lagless it is as well. I'll let the screenshots do the rest of the talking. This phone is amazing!
It runs on magic and unicorns. I used to be all stingy with battery back when I had my Moto G 2014 but once I got this little beast I stopped caring, even when foregoing all optimizations I still get at least 8 hours of SoT.
Im really curious is this more of a SD625 thing or a Motorola thing.
A thorough head to head with the other 625s would be interesting

Oh yeah, mine might actually be running a on a bit less power than MM giving me more battery life.
So I already have a OnePlus 5 that I ordered on launch day. Despite all of the bugs being reported, it's still a massive improvement over my Nexus 6P; basic tasks like navigating don't cause it to overheat, this Snapdragon 835 is light-years ahead of the laggy 810 CPU, the phone doesn't suddenly cut off when the battery reaches 30%, and it's FAST! It's not quite perfect, though:
1. Slight jelly effect when scrolling.
2. Slow WiFi, but I fixed this by forcing 5GHz and disabling 'Smart WiFi Switcher'.
3. Google Play Music doesn't allow me to seek to a different position with streaming music/podcasts (I can seek fine through downloaded music). No other music apps exhibit this problem, yet it only happens on OnePlus phones (the 3T had the same issue) so I'm not sure if the blame should be placed on Google or OnePlus. I subscribe to Google Play Music and listen to podcasts very often, so this is a huge inconvenience.
I've been mulling over the idea of ordering another OP5 and paying with PayPal to ensure that I wouldn't have any problems returning it if it turns out to be worse than the one I currently own. I've only had this one for 4 days, so if I order soon then I should have enough time to test both of them and decide which one I want to keep. Going through all of this would be a slight inconvenience, but I think it would be worth it to get my hands on one of these elusive jelly-free OP5s that some people claim to possess. I'm sure the other two issues can be fixed with software updates/ROMs.
Thanks
Ok l will go to another thread then?

I don't have the Jelly issue on my phone at all. Neither do i have the slow wifi issue. I don't use google play music and have it disabled so i can't test that feature. Here is a quick video of it on my phone (I used AZ Screen Recorder).

I've seen reviews of people such as SuperSaf (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lDnW2biR9eQ) making videos of the phone's speed test against the iPhone 7 recorded with an external camera and i don't see that issue on his phone either. If is present, i dont see with. In mine 1+3 and 1+5...
it's not noticeable when scrolling fast, because everything blurs anyway.
I don't think most people will notice it at all, it's only evident when scrolling at a specific speed, and made more obvious if you are holding on a specific spot and moving up and down.
Confirm my Oneplus 5 does have the Aka Jelly effect.
I tried seeing it every which way i could think of..
Finally after putting Oneplus 2 side by side exact same apps as my Oneplus 5
scroll up and down with both phones exactly the same time and you will see the icons on the oneplus 2 stay Square where as the oneplus 5 elongate up with the scrolling or you can call it stretching.
This reminds me of Ubuntu Compwiz wobble effect.

A new update was pushed out today in UK on Google Play, an update for "Pixel Visual Core Service" to improve HDR+..
Ive found that after the update and having both HDR+ On and Off.. on camera images, the difference isnt huge, but the pics are less grainy, noisy and do look a LITTLE bit clearer on Crop..
I had to Reset the Camera by going into Settings>Apps>Camera>Storage.. Clear both the camera Cache and Data
Anyone else noticed this?

What can be done if i notice the visual core service not working on third party apps? Considering I've tried clearing cache, storage, uninstalling, reinstalling, rebooting the app.
Neither snapchat nor instagram or facebook is able to use pixel visual core from time to time. What can be done?
Do you have a separate app of pixel visual core??
I uninstalled it from settings and then there is an app by google itself on play store.
How can these fluctuations in the working of visual core be solved?
