You'll need to force restart every time to charge your phone, I'm facing the same issue since 2nd October security update. Even restarting the phone doesn't restart the phone.

No man, I tired it all. Nothing worked for me yet, I even flashed different boot images from all the updates, still it sucks. If you find some solution please post that here.

I flashed NOV patched rom...
but still results are same

Did you try different cable and charger? If yes and it still doesn't charge then send it to the service centre.

Same here. Can't charge sometimes and then I can't restart my phone. Need to force restart the phone to enable charging again. Will hard reset may fix this issue? Thanks!

found any solution???

I have the same problem here.... what to do?

Did somebody found any solution; please update!

no idea how but my problem is solved !!!
no charging issues now

If your phone doesn't charging after Dec update:
1. plug charger to phone and socket ofc (Make sure that a phone doesn't charging)
2. turn off phone
3. unplug charger
4. turn on phone

[Q] Defy+ continues reboot

Yes I did face the issue when I first bought it and was experimenting with android and loads of apps!! However, it also turned out my SD card was not ok ! So that too might have been the reason! Try doing a data wipe(Backup msg and call history using SMS Backup+ and contacts are auto backed up in google acc). So first try by removing the SD card and if that do not work do a data wipe.
thanks ^^ will try it
Are your phone undervolted?
The phone freezes on boot and after that reboots? Or you can use them for a while whitout problems and it reboots at any time?
It's a known issue when you undervolt the device too much
CM7 + CM9 double boot

Hi guys I have a small problem ...when i turn on my phone i type PIN and i confirm it after 1 sec or so of loading my phone reboots and its happening over and over again even when i turn off the phone it turns on on its own i have to remove battery then i can go to recovery.... i tried to turn on phone without SIM and its working without problem .... i know that it could be SIM card problem i will try another if i will have a chance ... but any other suggestions? actually wiping everything or reflashing ROM or even flashing another ROM didnt help me... Ok I tried another SIM card but problem remains the same...now it rebooted even without SIM .... i faced this problem before but i always solved it somehow..i just flashed other ROM and it worked ...i dont know

Problems with 2,5 year old Samsung Galaxy S

Hello guys, I have the following problems with my galaxy s. For 2 days now I am having the problem that the phone while working fine, suddenly reboots and my baseband is gone. I am getting baseband unknown in status.
With no baseband working it constantly reboots every 2/3 minutes. Sometimes it fixes itself and I am having the baseband again. Sometimes not and I try to flash the software (CM9 or CM10), or just the modem. Also tried to copy the efs folder. Nothing seems to work though. I just have to be lucky that it fixes itself after a reboot.
Does anybody experience the same problems?
*** update
the problem seems to get fixed once you plug into the power line to charge it. do you think it is the battery?
Have you tried flashing everything from beginning again? So GB via Odin, CM9 twice, afterwards CM10 (or keep 9)?
Maybe it's due to the battery, don't know.My phone is now 2 years old and I already replaced the battery 6 months ago, lol
i would also recommend you flashing stock GB version via ODIN and start form there. i could always solve every problem by going back to GB.
if it's the battery you should try out another one if you can.
I have this problem too, the only way to get back to normal is to flash back samsung ROM, problem occurs with all cm10 versions !!
Did you solve it?
I will ask here, because I don`t want to open new thread for this.I have one SGS on repair but I can`t use usb because my pc can`t recognize the phone(unknown device).I have right drivers installed. There`s no recovery on the phone too, only download mode.If I wanna charge it,battery animation only starts and then restart. If I wanna turn it on,Samsung logo and then Devil kernel animation is shown and then phone restarts.Any idea? Thanks

Different solutions for USB connection problems and bootloops. look in My Android Solutions
But First powerdown, pull out Battery, SIM CARD, and EXT.SD card, press power button for a minute, than powerup without SIM and Ext.SD Card

If you are trying to copy your EFS folder and it does not work - are you using a micro-SD card in your phone. If you are then doing a simple backup will save your EFS as part of the backup and you can have it saved on your microSD card also known as your external sd

Do you know anyone with the same phone whose battery you could borrow just for testing (SGS or SGS Plus)? I had a battery related problem with constant reboots, BUT in my case the battery level dropped from 80 to under 5 and that caused the reboots. My battery had also swollen a bit.
Experienced same issues until I replaced the battery
Sent from my GT-I9000 using xda app-developers app

Try anker batteries
This sounds like the fault that numerous people are having, phone gets to a certain age and then just starts breaking. Seems only a new motherboard actually fixes it.
if you have warranty it will change your motherboard

I am currently on stock nougat.
I think this issue came when I was on MM and flashed first soak test.
Help please to fix this issue.
Also happened for me since the latest naugat update. It was fine in previous updates.
Now I am on Invicta 3.5, everything is fine now.

Is your device rooted? Than just format your phone from twrp n flash stock rom or custom rom ... U can find your device stock rom from https://www.stockrom.net/ .. there are alternative sites
if it gets randomly shut down without shutdown dialogue box..so it have the problem with the battery...u need to replace battery with the original battery... don't use genric battery otherwise you will get less battery backup.

No it says nothing. it shutdown randomly.
it is a hardware problem....you need to replace the battery.... temporarily you can silent the phone and turn off its vibration to get rid of it....but this problem can occur again but by doing this it will surely decrease...

yeah....Moto Care may ask you to examine your phone... don't let them examine that..because they will only flash stock images and charge you money...they may also tell you that this is the problem of the motherboard....but that is not true....well one thing I wanna ask that..how much time it is taking in recharging with turbo charger and how much backup it is giving....
