I am sure other users must have noticed this. Functions on the toggle bar can be activated even when phone is locked. This a security concern.
When phone is locked, malicious people in possession of the phone can swipe the screen down and start functions on the toggle bar e.g. Mobile Data, Wi-fi, Torch, Silent mode, Bluetooth, Hotspot, GPS and can even put the phone on Aeroplane More.
This should not be allowed.
Is there a solution to this ?
Cheers
Sachin
Still waiting for a solution ..

U can disable toggles in lock screen. Search for it in settings.
Some roms have an option to prevent it, I know rr and viper os have it ,check in settings (disable quick settings on secure lock screen , as @RoboR1 said)

I want to disable the vibration when I slide the finger to unlock the phone, I m using
NexusHD2-Gingerbread V3.2a (GWK74)(Android 2.3.7)[tytung_r13]
Is it possible to disable this annoying vibration, I have disabled all the settings related to vibration and this is the only one left.
There are several settings where you need to turn off haptic feedback, are you sure you tried them all?
I had that problem too, but managed to turn it off, but I don't remember clearly where.
I checked all the settings and there is no option to do this.
Go into sound settings, there should be something for haptic feedback. I'm running the same exact rom and I don't have that problem.

Its already disabled
Reboot maybe? Other than that I don't have a clue.

Is it possible to use pattern lock to use 3 dots instead of 4.
Noticed this today while a friend was messing with my phone while it was standing on the table locked.
He pressed the lock button, the screen showed up with the clock, wallpaper and stuff.
My phone has a pattern lock, so he was unable to access the main launcher screen. But he was able to pull the notification/status top bar and do stuff like change brightness, disable wifi and bluetooth and so on.
To me it does look like a security flaw. Is there any way I can block that?
Thanks everyone!
I see that. But when i try to open anything, my pin code is required. Do you have a screen lock pin set up?
Edit. Ok i see what u mean. Quick settings can be changed, but not the settings gear icon. That requires a pin. Huh!
This is bonkers! Some of these may even potentially involve more serious security concerns, but in any case there ought to be a way to turn off this access. I do not want to allow anyone to change my Wifi network, Bluetooth device, open a hotspot, use the flashlight or even change the volume while it is locked - especially since I can instantly unlock it myself with a fingerprint.
This is really crazy indeed. I hope Google fix this on the next Android release or even let the users decide if they want this or not. I really don't want to root my device because of this but I don't see another option right now.
i don't like that a potential thief can turn off DATA even though the phone is locked.
I think this was meant to make toggling wifi, Bluetooth, airplane mode, flashlight, do not disturb easily accessible.
I have been using a few days with lockscreen fingerprints, however today it just suddenly disappeared. I think it could have something to do with the oculus gear vr as I was playing with it earlier. Now when i press the home button it just jumps straight into the homescreen with no fingerprint security even though I checked that it is already turned on. I tried restarting the phone and still the lockscreen barrier is no longer there. Anyone experience this bug or know whats wrong with it?
Are you sure you havent enabled SMART Lock? It essentially doesnt require fingerprint when in a designated "safe" area. It does have to be manually set up, but I remember after several times at home it asked if I want to designate this as a safe spot and not require fingerprint while here.
You can check at settings-->Lock Screen and Security-->Secure Lock settings-->Smart Lock to see your settings
Hi all,
I have 2 questions:
1. When I type in a password on a website, as a type each character, it quickly shows the character on the screen, then switches over to an asterisk. How can I make it NOT display the character? For example, suppose I am projecting my screen, and I need to enter a password. I do not want viewers to be able to see my characters as I type them from a BT keyboard or something. This feature exists on my old Samsung Galaxy S6, and shocked that I don't see it on OxygenOS.
2. Is there a way I can disable the toggling of WiFi and Airplane mode from the lock screen? This feature also existed on the Galaxy. I want to have the option to lock the network state: cannot turn off WiFi or go into Airplane mode from lock.
Thanks.
I take it from the lack of response, this isn't possible on stock OOS? Maybe I'll look into rooting/custom ROMs for higher security.
Really liking the fingerprint scanner and it's position on the Mi A1 - much better than the one under the power button on my former Sony phone
That said, i'm wondering if there is a way to make it lock the phone as well as unlock - I like being able to use it as the swipe for notifications, but would be great to Unlock -> swipe (see notifications) -> hold for locking...
Thoughts!?
Did u even Google and try before asking? This was my first hit. https://android.gadgethacks.com/how...anner-do-almost-anything-with-tasker-0175015/
Thanks. So what happens when my banking app wants my fingerprint and I have that set up?
Should work, just don't press it to long. You should be able to set a custom delay before screen off.
So I can't make this work. Tasker seems to have two options System Lock or Lock. Lock is some kind of manual lock screen, so seems System Lock would be what I want.
However, System Lock seems to be a core level lock that then doesnt allow me to unlock with fingerprint, but needs the pattern...
Is there some other option I'm looking for here?
Screen off? Device should autolock itself seconds later.
Doesnt seem to be a screen off option, only change the display timout (min 7 seconds, so that wont work)
