Idle Battery Drain

So I was posting some info in another thread but I figured I would make my own thread for it. It seems like the power consumption at idle might be the cause for the "not as good as expected" battery life. For example my G3 will sit off the charger for 4 hours without being used and still be at 100%, the Turbo loses 6% in that time. The G3 has a 3000mAH Battery and I could easily get 24h of off the charger time on the G3. My question is what is killing the battery on the Turbo??? Its kinda hard to look over the battery stats when there is no root. Anyone have any input?

I think it's because of the wifi. I too have experienced crazy idle drain compared to my G2 and it's really making me regret getting this phone. It seems like they just slapped the kitkat ROM together and didn't really care to test it very well because Lollipop is coming out so soon.

It's definitely draining at idle more than usual or should be, I agree. I don't think it is WiFi related though, or at least not enough to be the main problem. I could be wrong of course. I have also not experience any WiFi or Bluetooth issues whatsoever and I use a Moto 360 all day, every day.
I am currently on my 4th charge cycle since acquiring the 64GB BN model. It's been powered on for 7h 32m and I'm sitting at 78% with 1hr 18m SoT. That's with heavy usage and taking quite a bit of pictures & video during this mornings product demo presentations at work.
Hardly anything for me personally to complain about. I'm sure they will optimize it. I'm almost certain than Android L 5.0 will make this phone a true beast.
Time will tell.

are you leaving gps or high accuracy location settings on?

I have the same issue as the OP. My G3 lost very little battery life when idling. I've attempted shutting down email accounts, turning off location and selectively removing apps in hopes of determining the cause of the drain...without success. This could be a deal breaker if we don't get some type of root exploit soon.

Well this sucks. I was going to get the Turbo but now I'm going to wait and see what happens with this drain issue. Maybe 5.0 will fix it.

I have been using the same settings that I did on my G3, Auto brightness, Location OFF and Auto Sync. Glad I'm not the only one noticing it too, I think its all in the build of Kit Kat they put on this phone, hopefully L comes out soon.

How about you start by posting screenshots of your battery stats from System...Battery
I don't have any issues whatsoever.

Well once I figure out how to do that I will post it, but in the mean time what phone were you coming from? A few people have agreed in this post that the battery life is worse @ idle then the G3 so its not just me.

Well G3 could be out of box, not trying to argue wanted to understand what your problem was. If you press the graph you'll see more details on what is using batteries (awake vs screen on, cell signal etc) and more in Android System if you go into that screen.
Overall what your getting .. 1-2% is not a big deal to me and beauty of the massive battery is you don't have to worry about but if really wanted to you could improve by turning off stuff you don't need or even automating it.
FWIW I'm coming from a GS3 with a tiny battery but even that phone lasted 5 days idling with the right setting for my use case (cell radio off / WiFi on). With Turbo just disabled some apps I didn't need and don't even think about it any more. I do have complaints about the Turbo but battery is definitely not one of them.

I'm interested in this as well. I bought my turbo yesterday evening and it had a pretty good charge (>80%) out of the box. I played with it for much of the evening and copied ~8gb of data to the phone via wifi. When I went to bed battery was at 60%, when I woke up it was 46%. I noticed that my third biggest battery use is command center, so I disabled auto-location in that app. I'm hoping to have better results on my first full charge.

Yeah I agree, but its literally the same settings I ran of my G3. I think I'm just gonna return it between the weak wifi and cell signal, and the camera it's just not worth it if the battery life isn't better then my G3

I have already noticed significant improvements in my battery life. Has mentioned in the other thread. I'll be making a detailed post on Friday evening with my results.
I may also, from time to time post some of my progress, as I already have an understanding as to one of the issues involved with the so called "idle drain" everyone is referring to, and it is NOT WiFi.

Thanks, I'm pretty good with understanding wake locks, I just don't know where to start without root since most the stats in BB require it. I'm intrested to see what you come up with. I'm gonna wait till Saturday anyway to see if I still want to trade this in for the nexus.

Well you are limited with what you can do but I already gave you a start in my post, maybe you missed it. The only insight you will have without root (for tools like Better Battery Stats) is looking into all the info you can get out of Settings..Battery. There you can see wake locks vs screen on time and other stats like cell signal / wifi status etc. Then you can also dive into your biggest usage, for you it looks like it is Android System. They will list system services that are classified here. For example, you'll see the moto features are part of this. If you don't want to dig you can wait for Andromjb's updates
Overall I wouldn't base your decision to return the Turbo based on the battery -- base it on your other problems it sounds like you're having with wifi signal etc. That sounds like reason enough for a return. If you're ok with the larger size of the Nexus 6 then to me it's a no brainer to go with that instead of Droid Turbo since they are almost identical in terms of hardware.

For those that are getting battery drain, did you disable all of the verizon apps? There are some 20+ apps that are constantly running in the background and will drain your battery(even after i did a factory reset, these apps were sending data despite me never having opened them). Disable those, restart, then see if things change over the next cycle. I got 2d9hr31m and 4hr23 min of SOT(minimal usage) and was at 13%; this was on the first charge.

Could this drain be due to some of the sensors used for notifications. Doesn't the turbo have the feature where you stick your hand over it and it shows the notifications? If this is the case, wouldn't those sensors have to stay on?

Yeah I have 27 apps disabled and it really didn't make a difference for me like it has in the past, their must be something killing the battery on this 30m of screen time and I'm at 79% shouldn't be happening.

Thats actually really interesting. I haven't been experiencing anything like that. Perhaps try doing a factory reset then disabling them again. That's the only thing I did differently. Perhaps it's just a bad device? I'm already at 2hrs screen time, heavy downloading(off line apps), and have been on battery for 1d8hr- still at 45%. Is there anything in the battery stats? Wake locks perhaps?

I ordered the ZF2 from NewEgg when it released in the US.
I now had it for 4 days and generally feel good about the upgrade from a Nexus 5, but there are some things that really bother me with this phone:
1. Heat. This phone seems to heat up pretty bad when charging and doing something on the phone. When I just got it and was doing updates connected to power it actually gave out an error saying it overheated and needs to shut down.
2. Capacitive buttons are laggy. It takes about a second to register the press of the home button along with back and recent buttons. The Nexus 5 onscreen buttons so much faster.
3. The Zen Keyboard is laggy. Had to download and install the stock google keyboard.
4. Benchmarks are weak. Highest I got was 45k on Antutu. I have seen others getting over 48k. Its a minor gripe as the general performance is really good.
5. The plastic ridge that surrounds the screen seems to be very weak. It already has dings in it. Very sad about this.
6. Camera is not compatible with Hypwrlapse or ManualCamera app. I hope that those apps get updated and start supporting ZF2.
7. I don't know what's going on with this battery. Maybe its the apps that I have. But it feels weak. Woke up today at 8am. Its 5:30 now. I'm at 38% with 2 hours and 30 minutes screen on time.

1. Mine barely gets warm, and I have yet to see it get as warm as my G2 yet. It gets warm during charge but every device heats up during that process. Temps jump between 3x-4x℃.
2. I'm not having this issue, so not sure what the cause is.
3. The keyboard is smooth like the LG keyboard, and seems just as responsive as my N9 was.
4. I have the 2GB, so 42K seems to be the ceiling in antutu.
5. I've had mine for roughly a week and there aren't any signs of use on it, such as dings.
7. With my 2GB variant I reach ~2.5-3hrs for SOT at roughly 65-50%. I charge the battery to 85/80% and end up with 4-5hrs for SOT consistently. For me Android OS is really hurting battery performance.

Something is seriously wrong with the battery of Zenfone 2, 550 ml. It automatically comes down to around 30% in 8-10 hours, even without any active use at all!

i was one who got early units of 550 ml...mines is performing very well......i dont have any issues too what so ever based on your reports above...standby time for 7 hours only reduce to 4 % batterry consumption for me....return your unit if its got warranty so you can sleep better

The battery and 5.0 are a problem. I've had wifi turned off for the past 3 days and the battery app is still reporting that wif is using 20-25% of the battery. The saving grace is standby which is outstanding. Left it off charge all night and it lost 8% in 11 hours. Once I start to use the phone the battery dies very quickly.

I have the ZF2 which I bought at initial launch from ASUS France. I can tell that I don't have all the issues you are reporting.
1. The phone does heat when charging or making lengthy calls but it doesn't bother me since while charging it's normal and I don't make as many long calls but this has not happened since the last FW update.
2. The buttons are working alright. I haven't noticed any lags. If anything they are more sensitive for me. Takes a screenshot every now and then if I hold my recent app key for a fraction of a second.
3. I always used Google KB on all my android devices so again can't tell but initially I was using the ASUS KB and didn't face any major issues.
4. I haven't done any benchmarks so can't report on that yet.
5. No dings whatsoever. I am also using a case so I barely touch the device.
6. The device has to be supported by devs. I know that the beta Microsoft Hyperlapse does not support it right now but it should do once they add support for it.
7. Well battery has been a concern for most on this forum but with the last FW I am getting 5 hours of SOT with 4G enabled all day. That's not bad at all compared to 2.5 or ~3 hours when I first started using the phone so it has been optimized and if ASUS is serious about this device (I hope they are) then it should only get better.

Had the same issue with the capacitive buttons, did a factory reset and cleared the cache and they are now pretty much instantaneous when you press them.

turn off the allow wifi scanning when off option .. its probably google play location services killing your battery

Go to Wi-Fi Advanced Settings and turn off "scanning always available". That will fix the Wi-Fi consistently on even when turned 'off'.

Galaxy s4 Horrible Battery Drain 1% Per Minute! How to Fix?

So I am new to Smartphones. I have owned maybe 3 or 4 smartphones up to date. I just got a US Cellular Galaxy s4 in Mint Condition. However the Battery is draining 1% Per Minute. I have no clue what to do! I really like this phone but the battery drain is terrible!
I've read countless Forums reporting this issue but no one has a solution. I know the Galaxy s4 is a very outdated device but its all I can afford and its way more than enough for me. Its very nice phone! Can anyone help me?

How about changing the battery?

- Root it and flash cyanogenmod and as the stock rom as a lot of bloatware and takes a lot of battery .
- Use uninstaller to remove that apps you don't need from cyanogenmod and just have the apps that you use mostly.
- Use battery calibration.
- Use L speed zip.
Hope it works.

Almost 2 hours on battery and you're at 83%. That seems fairly decent.
I mean, I usually get to 50% in 2 hours. 1 if I download stuff over WiFi.

Okay thank you everyone! I will look into this stuff. I never flashed a phone or put a custom rom. I don't even know how that stuff works but I'll watch tutorials on Youtube.
PS Today I did the easiest thing after I saw it on a tutorial. I "Turned Off" A bunch of applications including Google Services and All services related to Google. After doing so I set the Brightness to about 60-50% and the Battery lasted significantly more!

Would recommend you to turn on Airplane mode (as you don't use cellular?)

Because your battery stats shows a big thick red line, with Airplane mode that red line should be gone

Question. I already turned off Data. I also keep WiFi turned Off unless I plan on connecting. What benefit would it be to enable Airplane Mode?

EDIT: DATA is indeed Turned Off yet the Red Line in Battery still present?! If I do Airplane mode I won't get to use the WiFi at home and I need that.
EDIT: I turned on AIRPLANE mode and Enabled Wifi but DATA Is Still a RED Line? 6:57PM Eastern Time.
THE PHONE IS LASTING LONGER AFTER TURNING OFF APPS!

I spoke with the Original Owner via eBay messages and he assured me that he had NO BATTERY issues with the phone what so ever. The afternoon the phone came in the mail I didn't pay much attention to the battery and used it for a very short time. Next morning the first thing I did since I had read about it Online was to Update the Android Version to Lollipop. It was here when I first noticed the BATTERY issue and if the seller is truthful and he had no issues on the STOCK Kitkat version then it has to be after I updated to Lollipop.
This is the Device Information AFTER the Downgrade back to Kitkat.
I feel like the guy I paid to Downgrade my phone might have installed something wrong? So I am very curious how can I Compare what a Galaxy S4 (SCH-R970) "Device Information" looks like with STOCK Kitkat not the Downgraded Version. I Mean what if he used something wrong? or Changed the "Baseband Version" or "Kernel Version" or "Build Number" or "Hardware Version" from the VANILLA Version. I want to know if there is a way TO LOOK AT A STOCK (SCH-R970) "About Device" Information to compare if there is something wrong or different. VANILLA vs Downgrade
I tried Googling "Galaxy s4 SCH-R970 About Device" But couldn't find anything. I want to see if "About Device" its the same FRESH From the Factory after official Kitkat update not Downgrade Version.
Like I don't know what things are firm and what things are variable and can change like Baseband Version change/kernel version/build number/hardware version. Do those things change when downgrading or are they same as VANILLA/Stock?

According to your battery stat it seems that airplane mode is working but does not improve your battery. I too use my S4 without a sim card and Airplane mode seemed to turn off radio. But I am using a custom rom at the moment, so that might explain the difference between yours and mine...

There is no such thing as "Stock version and downgraded version".
Whatever he flashed came straight from Samsung.
And the info in "about device" changes with each software update, except for the phone model. In other words, I doubt you'll find a comparison with exactly the same info as yours.
As I said, your battery seemed fine to me. I mean, comparing it to mine.
But let me tell you, the screen takes the most battery and having it at maximum brightness (even 50%) doesn't really help with battery. It can also shorten the life span of the screen.
Most people get a screen-on time of 4-5 hours before having to recharge.
If you can reach that, then there's no problem with the phone or the battery.
To check screen-on time, go into the battery graph and select the "screen" entry. It should show a statistic called "Time on". That's the screen-on time.

Don't worry your not alone, all S4 users face this problem :laugh:

As I said, your battery seemed fine to me. I mean, comparing it to mine.
But let me tell you, the screen takes the most battery and having it at maximum brightness (even 50%) doesn't really help with battery. It can also shorten the life span of the screen.
Most people get a screen-on time of 4-5 hours before having to recharge.
If you can reach that, then there's no problem with the phone or the battery.
To check screen-on time, go into the battery graph and select the "screen" entry. It should show a statistic called "Time on". That's the screen-on time.

Wow that's crazy! I remember one of the first phones I owned was the DROID 2 then the DROID 3 and eventually DROID 4 and then an HTC Rezound <3 Several years ago but I NEVER had any issues like this before. Last Phone I owned before this one was the Galaxy s3 and it did NOT have any issues with battery either! I was just amazed how fast the battery drains on this phone compared to all the other devices I owned. @ 100% this morning @27min 31s My battery was at 94% just from downloading a 45MB app and checking Gmail! Unbelievable!

Let me ask you guys! What is a Phone that won't have Battery issues or other issues from around 2013 that has a Very Good Camera 8MP Or Above with a Big Screen and Fast Processor with good ammount of RAM that I could buy for under $80 used on Ebay? Throw me a few names!

Maybe. But consider the following:
Most phones don't have a removable batteries anymore. And I'm pretty sure most 2013 phones were the same.
Batteries, over time, lose the ability to hold a charge.
So, buying a phone with a 3 year old non-removable battery wouldn't be very beneficial, in my opinion.
Getting a bigger battery for the S4 does seem like the best option right now.

I have ONE minor (Tiny) Issue hehe.
Google Search Widget does NOT respond typing or Voice command. I can't do VOICE Command for the phone to type what I say.
Does this have something to do with Google Services? because I think I disabled some of them (Turned Off) not sure if that could affect it. What would I enable and where to get this working again? I want the phone to Type what I say for example Say: Google.com or Say: Pizza Hut (Google Search)
These are New things for me and I am glad I can learn about them.

How would anyone tell you what to turn back on if you haven't mentioned what you turned off?
Anyway, I'm pretty sure the voice recognition should work right out of the box. But you need the Google app. And have Google Now activated.

Everyone roll your eyes: another battery question.

So, it seems like my battery isn't quite behaving itself. I've turned of Moto Display, underclock GPU to 300mhz, and switched to 1080p instead of 1440p, used Amplify to control wakelocks and Greenify to hibernate things that like to run in the background. I have never gotten more than about 1hr30min of screen time. My phone stays relatively cool unless I'm playing a lot of games or watching a lot of videos on YouTube. I have a handful of xposed plugins (Amplify, GravityBox, Greenify, NougatNavigation Bar (I like the solid icons rather than the lines that comes with stock N) and Status Bar Cleanup).
Anyone think I should get a new battery? Not under warranty, so I can't do anything via that route.
Also, is eBay a good enough place to find a replacement battery as long as I make sure it's not a counterfeit?

Sudden drop off battery percentage ofb10% or more shortly after charger disconnect? Has the unusual battery occurred after any specific updates to any of your apps? Have you tried a factory reset (I know it's painful but it does help on occasion)? Just throwing it out there.

used Amplify to control wakelocks and Greenify to hibernate things that like to run in the background.
Doesn't work good on Nougat - you can use "background permission setter" app & "link2sd" for disable some apps

I rarely ever got 3 hours... GSAM's average SOT over time was about 2h 20m... Although I did have occasional instances with 4 hours (on WiFi, reading, at night, very low drainage usage). Not really the point though
Should you replace the battery, well, from what you say it sounds like it is due... The real problem is getting a quality replacement. You can find a ton of them on eBay or other online markets, but most users here will tell you that you can't get an OEM battery any more no matter what the seller says, they just don't exist, and most of the ones that state "new" are just knock-offs or batteries for other devices that are re-purposed (and often of lower capacity). There is a serious market for cell phone batteries, and there are lots of counterfeits out and just out-right lies there, so the real problem is getting a good replacement battery. It is literally luck...
Remember, this device is 2.5 years old... Meaning most batteries for it were likely made prior to that. Although I paint a gloomy picture (it is a bit gloomy) there has to be some decent ones out there, but expect to pay $20+ and it will still be a crap shoot. Remember that when replacing the battery in this device, it isn't the easiest so do your homework. You will likely want a new back cover assembly (door and adhesive) as well because a good majority of the time they get destroyed when performing the operation.
Oh, and before you go down this road I suggest wiping your device... everything... and set it back up with the absolute bare minimum stuff (don't install anything if possible) for a couple days and retest your SOT. Not saying that's the case here, but Nougat's battery/app management is pretty good and we have seen more and more tales of things like Greenify/Amplify and other tweaks for helping battery life having the opposite effect, with some people noting the more they try to tweak it the worse it gets. Just a thought...

Quite a few times my battery would drop ~5-6% just after I remove it from the charger (regular USB power, not the turbo charger). I have tried a factory once and I let the battery do the "break in" period just to see if the battery was calibrated or not. So far it seems it is calibrated...I've also tried draining the battery until it my it shuts off, then using the turbo charger and letting it sit for like ~8 hours (I forget where I saw that specific bit of advice. It was in response to someone else posting...I don't even remember where. Possibly XDA, not 100% sure).

I found my capacity to be 3034mAh...which is....quite odd. My battery isn't even fully charged.

I actually tried to replace the battery once and I did such a terrible job that I ruined the contact points on the ribbon that connects to the main board. I wish I could get a new phone (like a Pixel 2) but I have nowhere near enough income or funds set aside for that. Maybe later this year...hopefully...and not necessarily a Pixel 2 but something that runs very close to stock AOSP. I would definitely miss the 2 front facing speakers on anything else. I saw ZTE Axon 7 and the Razer phone has them too...but no idea how close they are to stock AOSP. Maybe I'll take the plunge into flashing the stock Nougat images and let it be naked for a few days. That sure would be annoying...but if it helps my MXPE survive in good shape until I can afford another phone I'm all in.

I'm on Nougat stock and I keep getting battery down at 25-35% regularely. I can see that when I put phone in charge after it shuts down percentage charge numbers start where power down happened at 25-35% Tried a battery calibrate weeks ago with a play store app. At first looked like it got fixed but just for a day or so and back with same problem. Also SoT is terrible, getting max 1h and if i do a heavy use even less and I dont even use social media at all. No idea if its a dead battery or software problem seeing I was on custom rom before i reverted back on stock nougat. Waiting for a decent Nougat modem stock Rom to try it once again to see if a difference or not.

"Battery calibration" apps don't work... The proper way to "recalibrate" a battery in modern Moto devices is https://motorola-global-en-uk.custh...moto-g4-g4-plus/topic/battery/battery-reset/1
Honestly, if this does nothing, try a cache wipe, and if that doesn't help do a factory reset. If that fails as well, then the battery is likely beyond it's useful life (becoming more and more common lately) and will need to be replaced if you can find a quality replacement. There is no "trick" to getting the battery back.
It seems these batteries were engineered for 18-24 months of life and that is about it, as most modern devices themselves are only intended for a max of 24 months of usable life anyway... They sure seem to drop off significantly in charge capacity after that point.

After a couple of charge cycles it shows my battery at 89% of max. My manufacture date is 11-16-2016, so just over a year old. Of course, the battery could have been made before then by some months, I don't know.

Replacing the battery on the Axon 7

Anyone know where i can get the battery replaced on the Axon 7 in the UK? My battery drains too quickly and does not last a day. Ive looked at the videos on Youtube and it looks tricky to replace the battery. I love my Axon 7 especially the front facing speakers.

I replaced mine a few days ago. It's one of the easiest battery replacements I've ever done. It's very easy. Just make sure you have the proper tools

Just be careful when disconnecting the ribbons and carefully removing the battery from the screen as mine took a lot of finesse and some heat to pry it loose. I now have a great battery but now have no home and back button after attempting to repair many times. Luckily there is an app you can use to at least make my phone usable again.

how did you break those? The ribbon for the buttons is on the other side of the frame... are you sure your screen ribbon is well connected?
Have you tried pushing on the screen roughly where the volume buttons are located, to see if it gets reseated? It's weird that the screen works but it might be just that

I took the phone apart 4 times ensuring the ribbons were well connected hoping that may have been the culprit. Also took the battery out each time, applied pressure all around the screen which makes me think I might have shorted out something. Strange though the right button still works, just the home and back button not functioning.

And this, folks, is exactly why you shouldn't be dissasembling phones unless you're very skilled with with electronics repair. You forget to connect a cable or w/e, then post here with complaints. I'm not physically well coordinated, my hands lack the fine motor skills and dexterity to work with small parts. If I have electronics hardware I need worked on, I take them to a friend's shop and he does the work for a small fee. I get everything back knowing the job is done right.

I have pretty basic electronic skills, and I found the battery replacement pretty easy.
There are plenty of guides on youtube, and as long as you have a decent toolkit--spudger, flat metal pry tool, correct sized bits--it should be an easy thing to do.
One step to watch out for is at the beginning; you need a hair dryer/heat gun to loosen the plastic bezels at the top/bottom of the front face. Be careful applying too much heat. My top bezel has a small bend divot from where it got too soft and bent when I removed it.
Just go slow and take your time; I think my take apart and reassembly was just over 30 minutes.

When I switched to the last LOS 15.1 ROM a few month ago, I noticed a rapid decrease of battery time.
And also the latest version of the imgur-app drains the battery extremely - if active, the battery only lasts for about 4 hours.
(I constantly force-quit it to get over half a day)

that's the kernel, it's probably not too optimized - but it's not necessarily the only reason! If you set up a decent ROM with a good kernel like one of Kran's EAS kernels and still get bad battery life, then you can bet it's the battery (you still don't need to - run Accubattery, let it log for about 3 days, then check the capacity estimate).
I honestly don't know or care about the persist stuff because I've gone through roughly the same ROMs than these guys here and have no such trouble. But I won't deny it
Btw if you get a fast discharge of a couple % after disconnecting the phone or your phone shuts down unexpectedly at 10/20/30%, those are telltale signs of battery degradation.

Introducing too many variables can confuse the issue.
I've been on the same rom since 9/2017 - RR 14.x based. I used to go 2 days between charges, now it's 1 day. Usage hasn't change all that much. I have a battery on order. I'd also like to update to 15.1. Goal is not to do any upgrading until at least a week or two after installing the new battery. Otherwise, existing SoT and battery usage numbers will have little value.
Of course, it's a good idea to perform a backup (twrp/titaniuam) for anyone replacing the battery just in case something goes wrong along the way and your phone turns into a brick.

Latest LOS 15.1 Unofficial fix this for me. Maybe dev make better the kernel now.

You think there's much difference between an oem and third party battery? I'm only two charges in on the cameron sino, but still showing about 2700 mAh with accubattery. Tempted to get one of those usb amp meters to see what it's really taking in.

So far 3 full charges (1-2% to 100%). Accubattery still showing ~2650-2700 mAh capacity.
Actual use seems to be restored. Note the pic below.

point is, there is pretty much no way to know whether the battery you are buying is original or not. many bought the original looking ones and they have the font slightly off, knockoff-like... Which doesn't matter anyways because they perform just as good (or bad?) as a new OEM battery.

Past use wasn't quite the same. I'd typically recharge around 40% (to 100%). Getting to 40% would take less than a day. So there's definitely more life to it. Going 2 days between charges would be satisfactory.
I'll give it another full cycle to see how it's doing. Not sure another battery would make a significant difference. Seller might offer an exchange but is it really worth the hassle.........

If that battery really has 2700 mAh, its capacity is about to fall off a cliff, and your phone will start having early shutdowns whenever you give it any load. that's pretty much how it works with lithium, it is advised to change the battery when it is at 80% capacity since it'll start behaving like crap in no time

Accubattery indicated ~2000/2100 mAh for the old battery. In terms of actual use I'd be at ~30% by the end of the day with my typical use. Phone never shut down/rebooted. I don't play games or run cpu benchmarks. Probably the most intensive activity would be creating twrp backups with compression, titaniumbackups, playing youtube (hd), or running speed tests (symmetrical gigabit network). We'll see how the phone works after a month. This was an ebay/paypal transaction so there's 180 days to make any sort of claim on it. It's a $16 battery - If I'm able to go two days between charges like I used to, I'll be a happy camper regardless what the app says. I do have one of those KEWEISI amp meters on order so it'll be interesting how that compares to the app.

We'll see how the phone works after a month. This was an ebay/paypal transaction so there's 180 days to make any sort of claim on it. It's a $16 battery - If I'm able to go two days between charges like I used to, I'll be a happy camper regardless what the app says. I do have one of those KEWEISI amp meters on order so it'll be interesting how that compares to the app.

that's weird. if anything i can tell you i had lots of shutdowns when my battery was at 2500 mAh, and people around here are using batteries around the same capacity with the same problems.
But it's possible that you just don't abuse it that much, I'm talking about 100% CPU usage, for example taking an HDR+ enhanced pic with GCam (CPU pegged, 10+ pictures snapped in a second). there was no way to do that with less than 30% battery, it shut down immediately.
still, i guess you saw the graph. Please tell me how it goes with the charge counter, it might just be that Accubattery is off by ~400 mAh and that's why you didn't get nearly as much trouble with the older battery.
