Moto X Style Battery Stuck at 0! Please help!! [Indian Variant] - X Style (Pure) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

My phone actually had fallen into the water for 2 seconds 6 months ago, everything is working fine, except my battery wont charge, i.e it is stuck at 0. It isnt increasing like it should normally!
So, wanted to request for an old Moto X Style, someone who isnt using it anymore, so I could just swap the batteries in it and check if the problem is in battery or not. If it is, then I would just keep that battery. The battery is hard to find because it's a 2 year old model.
Its been making me curious for the past 6 months, as to I should buy the battery and check or not. Any suggestions?

Also check negative feedback on eBay about capacity:
http://feedback.ebay.com/ws/eBayISA...=negative&interval=180&_trkparms=negative_180
- Volume of a real, 1400 +
- Fake! original ep500 1160 mAh working 6 h, this 2430mAh battery - 3h! WTF?
- 2430mAh are not correct;battery monitor gives 1435mAh;no differents with origina
Etcetera...
-------------
Bottom line: don't buy it.
thanks dude.... sorry for not searching the threrads before new post...
i m not gonna buy it..
I've got one and it seems to work better than the original battery. Haven't had any problems. Haven't been analysing though.

my friend bought one of these batteries for your defy and lasts only 3 hours
The only brand of extended battery really works is Andida , I had one in my old N78 lasted 1-2 hours more than the original
don't buy it
My cousin got this battery , apart from the inflated capacity , it battery also leaked fluid and became inflated :crying:
same size as bf5x/hf5x, significantly higher capacity, definitely a scam, may even be dangerous.
battery chemistry hasn't evolved that much in the past few years. there's a limit on the weight&volume/capacity ratio.
avoid it.
not that good
i bought it and it's 10% her half a hour :/
Third-party batteries often lack good protective circuits. They may die unexpectedly and/or kill your phone. Be wary!
There is also a possibility that those batteries don't get fully recognized by the defy and the batteries might not charge up to 100%
thanks for the warnings.
any idea where one could get a legit replacement battery?

But a battery with 1700+ does not exist right?

Here's one way to get a new battery

My Moto X (2013) is out of warranty and has battery that is weaker and weaker. I checked with a local battery shop (well-known US chain, often located in shopping centers and strip malls). They ordered a replacement battery overnight and replaced the "unreplaceable" battery. Pretty tricky work, I think -- check the iFixit videos and you'll see. Only problem now is a hairline crack the guy made in the back of the phone along the edge. I decided not to worry about it. The guy felt bad, so and waived his labor charge. I felt bad for him, actually.
I suspect when Moto does a factory repair, it just pulls these backs and replaces them.
Anyway, it's great to have a new battery. I prefer my Moto X to any of the current phones, which are all too plasticky or too big, not to mention too expensive.

I've depleted it and am now recharging it from zero. I'll post some results after I do a couple of checks.
I don't think u should have depleted it to zero. New batteries like to be recharged alot. If you deplete the battery to less than 10% it goes bad alot quicker. Keep that in mind.

Ugh. I didn't know that. I just wanted to get a clean reading. Oh, well.
How much did it cost approximately?
The original price was $79 (USD) parts and labor, plus $10 overnight shipping. The guy knocked it down to $39 total because of the hairline crack. A lot for a phone battery, I know, but I wasn't willing to take on the job myself.

I don't think that really matters nowadays anymore. They are all lithium ion accumulators now and there it really doesnt matter if you charge it full or not etc.

not sure what your phone's status is (rooted, ROM version, carrier, etc) - but my battery life was fine on 4.4.2 until I unlocked the bootloader and installed the OTA 4.4.4. Then it started going downhill. After trying several custom ROMs (including LP), I was beginning to believe that my battery was dead too. But then after installing 5.1 LP, battery life is back to normal again!
So, it might help to indicate what your phone's status was prior to getting a new battery so that others can reference from there.
Not really sure if this helps, but more of FYI.

My phone's a Moto X 1053 GSM Developer's Edition bought in November 2013. My carrier is TMobile in the USA. I'm running 4.4.4, which I installed as soon as it was released (in Sept. 2014?). Serious battery weakness didn't show up until 3-4 months ago, so that was already some months after the 4.4.4 upgrade.
My phone is unlocked and rooted. I don't play video clips as a rule, nor do I use location services. I haven't been using the battery saver feature, though.
With my new battery, I'm seeing improvement, but I still haven't run the numbers yet. I will do that as soon as I can manage it.
O.K., here are some measurements. "Old battery" refers to my original Moto X battery after 19 months of steady use. "New battery" refers to the OEM battery installed by a technician at a battery store (see above):
In battery saver mode:
OLD BATTERY: 9-10 hours
NEW BATTERY: 18 hours
In normal mode (but still without location or bluetooth):
OLD BATTERY: 6-8 hours
NEW BATTERY: 12-13 hours
I haven't run tests with location or bluetooth on, as I almost never use those.
Any info on the specific battery model?

Actually mlodykaras is right. Modern day lithium ion battery doesn't like to be drained and preferred to be top up well in advance. On the other hand the old NaCD batteries from the 90's have a memory effect and should not be topped up until it's running low.

Droid turbo 2 replacement battery?

Will there be a replacement battery available for purchase at some point in the future? I'm curious because I'm a heavy user, and would like to know if I'll be able to use this phone longer than the current battery lasts.
you know it does come with a turbo charger iff you could spare 15 min from using it youll be back to half a battery again.

I think he's concerned with the battery going bad at some point and needing replacement, not life between charges.
I sold my first generation moto x to a family friend who is still using it no problem with decent batery life so i dont think their is much to worry about on that score.

Which battery replacement?

I bought my Nexus as one of the first available and used it since then on a daily basis.
But now the battery drops low rapidly so I need a replacement.
Are there any dos or donts regarding the manufacturer?
I found:
-original samsung

-more noname http://i.ebayimg.com/images/g/he0AAOSw-0xYXtxb/s-l1600.jpg
Anyone bought one of these? Or are there any other recommendations?
Thanks in advance.
I used an supposed branded Samsung, which increased the cut off percentage from 90% to 20%.

I just ordered mine (a year ago) from Amazon. "SYNERGY" maybe? Can't remember But it's still working fantastic to now. Goes dead at 0%, charges to 100%, and I get 5+ screen time every running 7.1 Pure Nexus, with baked in kernel.

Replaced the battery on the Tab Pro 8.4

It took less than 10 minutes to actually replace the battery in this thing. It took me 4 times longer to replace the battery in my Moto 360.
So far it's charging much faster than my old original battery. I have had my Tab Pro 8.4 since it came out. I got the replacement battery from Amazon.
I used a couple of youtube videos to get an idea of what to do and the replacement battery came with more tools than I actually even needed.
I'll update in 2 weeks about how my experience has been with it.

Yes please would really appreciate a detailed feedback and guide on if you still think it's worse it. I love this tablet. Perhaps a suggestion for the currently most efficient rom (batterylife/performance). Looking forward to hearing from you!
The ROM I'm using is Resurrection Remix Nougat 7.1.1_r25-NOF27B RR-N-v5.8.2-20170401-mondrianwifi-Unofficial
After fully charging to 100% yesterday I took the Tab Pro 8.4 to my cigar shop and used it for a full cigar smoke, used it later that evening at home for about 30 minutes, left it on the table overnight w/ wifi on, and now I'm at work with it and it's at a 30% charge. I have to say I haven't had this much life out of it since the 1st year I had this. Granted this is just over 14 hours of on time since the full charge so the performance will definitely change over the next 2 weeks of use but this is a great sign so far.
The Battery I got from Amazon was this:
ANTIEE T4800E New Laptop Battery Replacement For Samsung Galaxy Tab Pro 8.4" Tablet PC Notebook SM-T325 T320 T321 T4800C T4800K 4800mAh 3.7V
$15
Sounds good, will give it go! Thank you
I've had my tablet a little bit after it came out so the battery isn't holding up as much anymore but it's still working (yes I've reset my battery many times). Looking forward to your update or if anyone else has any other source for good replacement batteries, we would like to hear it.
Thanks
David C.
I just also replaced my battery with a highend battery same hz (4800) im not sure of its the lineage OS rom I'm running but I don't seem to see something to write home about unfortunatey...
There isn't even an option to fast charge this tablet with this rom *when the stock rom would chrage it in less than an hour and hold its charge) where as i spend a good 8 hour charge to get to near 1oo%and even when its still plugged in, it will go down in a matter of 2 hours.
any idease? maybe back to stock?

Are you using the Wifi or LTE version? I'm searching for another ROM instead of the lineageOS 13.0 currently running on my battery dead Tab Pro 8.4 LTE (SM-T325) which I will be replacing the battery myself soon.

So what's the verdict on the amazon replacement battery? Does it hold charge as good or as near the original?

It was a solid replacement and well worth the very short amount of time it took to do. It feels like a new device all over again. Lately I have just been trying different roms now since the stock experience hasn't been updated in years.

Same here. Original owner of a Tab8.4 since the month it launched, old battery swole, recently replaced. Easy peasy!
Well that was in November and my replacement battery is still go strong. Glad I did it!
I replaced mine with the same model from Amazon in March, everything is working great. It took about 10 minutes start to finish, tablet is still working like new.
Totally worth the $15.
After running into many problems including the battery on resurrection remix, I switched to lineage. The battery problems got worse there. I decided it was time to do this. Only a couple days in and the difference on lineage is night and day. Should have done this sooner.
