V20 facial recognition - LG V20 Questions & Answers

Hello guys!
Is it possible to make v20 unlock using facial recognition technology? I know that lg g6 didn't have that feature when it was released, but they added it with updates.

Go to Lock Screen and then Smart Lock, you'll see "Trusted face". You should have enabled Pattern or PIN unlock first.

In my experience this feature work really bad on lg phones. In motorola phones it work like a charm. You can try anyway!

Yeah, it's not "instant unlock". Fingerprint is still better.

yeah i tried facial unlock with my old S3 for a long time.. it was so finicky it was pointless to use.. thats when i decided my next phone had to have a fingerprint... first went with HTC 10.. but sold that due to money issues.. but now back on phone with fingerprint and love the ease and quickness!

Thank you guys, I tried the smart unlock and it is working pretty well in good light. The only thing I dont like about it is that you have to swipe on the screen after your face has been recognized to unlock the phone, where is with touchid you immediately get into the home screen without need to swipe the screen.

Blow to unlock Lockscreen for Nexus 4

Guys,
Micromax has just launched canvas 4 with Blow to unlock feature. Is it possible to get that type of unlocker for Nexus 4?
Thanks,
Why would you want this? It's not exactly the most secure feature in the world, a gust of wind will unlock your phone ready for use.
Here is a thread were you can the stuff you want.. Ideally not a good feature, next useless IMO.
Blow to wake screen
I agree that it is a not good feature to play with. Gust of wind or a small shake of phone will unlock and can be a troublesome.
Thanks for letting me know.
i was expecting something else unfortunately

Got a new Moto X today

Model XT1053. Came with 4.4.3. I set up my Google account and accepted to OTA update to 4.4.4. After the update was complete, the picture I have for my wallpaper on my current phone was the wallpaper on the Moto X. I'm not sure if I'm impressed or frightened. Maybe both!?

How does it feel in the hand? I've heard from many that its fragile and breaks easily if dropped (the screen). Whats your first impression of the device

Do you back up your system with Google? When you first set it up, it will ask you to do this

It feels great in the hand! Such a nice size and feel. I don't think its fragile, its pretty solid but I can see the screen breaking if it fell from too high or landed at hte wrong angle. Most of hte times I've dropped it, it was in a TPU case so never had any issues. The few times I've dropped it without a case have been on carpet. Also it is a little slippery without the textured back or a rubbery case, and I could see it easily falling. I think the screen is gorilla glass 3 so it should be as durable as most other phones.
unlock moto x at&t
Hi everyone, I got a moto x about two mounths ago and still I can`t use it cause it locked by AT&T and there is nothing I can do. I tried to get code via special services but nothing. I tried to got it through motorolla company but also nothing. Is there anyone who can help me? To get code I need to be a customer of AT&T company but they don`t work in my country.
Thank you for your attention.
You can probably get it unlocked through an unlocking service I would imagine...? I'm sure for under $25
Does it have Google Now or any Motorola app? I'm thinking of buying one. I want to have just a pico GApps. I don't mind flashing a custom ROM but will it lose all the features like shaking it to turn the camera on or wake it up ...?

Use fingerprint sensor with gloves

So the gloves that allow the wearer to use a touchscreen have been around for a while. But the problem is that you still have to take the gloves off in order to unlock the phone with your fingerprint.
Just out of curiosity, I tried to see if I could create another "fingerprint" with the tip of my nose. And it totally worked. I can now unlock my phone with my nose. I just thought this was pretty cool.

Good to know it works, but doubting the security.

Interesting... perhaps a phallus would work as well?
Who nose if it works
Interesting. Now we're going to see people walking around unlocking their phones with their noses!

OK, so i have a few important questions for the experts on here, that i haven't seen.

first, are there any differences between the "f" variant, and the "s" variant? everything i've read has them exactly alike. then, my number one pet peive with my new s7e so far is that when i restart it, it won't allow me to unlock it with my fingerprint, and wants a password instead. i really hate this, and have not seen anything from anyone about it, or how to fix it.
Actually, this has been answered numerous times. Can't get rid of it. Just like Apple iPhone in that respect.

Unfortunately it's one of the newer security features just like the double lock feature after using an app to turn off the screen. There's no way around this but it's definitely more secure if someone were trying to access your phone. A small nuscience for higher security. If you disabled screen lock I think it goes away.

yeah, i get why they are doing it, but i don't get why they put it in and don't allow the USER/OWNER to make a decision to keep it or not. android is open source, and as such nothing should be locked down like this. but in this, there is something i still am missing. why is it any more secure to have to put a password in, than your fingerprint after restarting? actually, it would seem to me, that anytime you have to type a password, you stand a chance of someone else seeing it, or keylogging it. but a fingerprint is only yours, and no one else has it. so what am i missing about this being more secure? and btw, thanks for the response.
The fingerprint sensor works great for me. Although I did have to recalibrate it once again since I didn't do it properly the first time. Also the difference between the F and the S variant is the region they are meant to be sold on. The F is generally for Europe while the S is for Korea.
Is it that much of an inconvenience? How many times a day do you restart your phone?

yeah, i get the region thing. what i was asking for, was to see about using the same custom roms and kernels. everything i have read says that they have the exact same hardware in them. so i am wondering if they can use the same custom roms and kernels?
