anyone know if there is a program out there that lets you recover lost or deleted text?
Hi all,
Recently and accidentally I deleted all SMS.
I have found several tools to recover them. But all need root and I would like to avoid rooting my device.
Anyone knows any tool that allows me to recover the lost SMS?
Thanks.
The reason that this feature require root is because you are in fact attempting to tamper with the system structure by trying to access parts of the SD which are off-limits to the regular user.
There are some guides online which do not mention root, but they seem to be from the gingerbread era.
Hi,
I have been looking for a way to backup my phone data, especially app data. The problem is that I did not root my phone before I started using it, and now I don't want to lose my data.
I am on KitKat, so it doesn't even allow me to write to an SD card.
The backup apps I see in the store, all seem to require root privileges.
I found a couple of apps (Holo Backup and Helium) which claimed to be able to backup app data without root privileges.
Unfortunately HoloBackup just hanged on the backup step, and Helium could never detect my phone.
Could anyone please reply or direct me to a post that has a solution ?
Thanks,
Hirak
Preferably for free.
Unfortunately, probably not without root. Texts are usually saved in a database akin to the texting app, and to access an internal app's data; you are going to need root. Sorry I can't help you out. Even with root, depending on the system of course, this database may either wipe the text or just mark it as deleted, either way, you will need root.
