Wheres the antenna on the NS anyone know ?
I looked at http://www.ifixit.com/Teardown/Nexus-S-Teardown/4365/1
and couldnt tell.
Just want to prevent forest fires, only you can prevent ...
no wait, trying to prevent the death grip.
I'm not having very good signal sometimes and even worse on wifi.

Antenna seems to be in the battery door. Not sure but theres 2 contacts on the upper backside of phone that makes contact with something that I believe to be the actual antenna. Not 100% sure though just an observation.

I believe the contacts on the inside of the battery door are related to NFC rather than the antenna.
EDIT: Just saw someone posted the same thing above me whilst I was reading about the NFC chip, my bad for repeating.

I thought I did state I wasn't 100% sure. Sorry If I DISTURBED you by voicing an observation I made in a discussion forum. I just don't really understand why people attack other people in a pubilc forum because they're more enlightened than someone else. A simple response with the correct answer would have sufficed. Next big update is called Mango and is scheduled Q3/2011. This should bring multitasking an other stuff...

No, as I know, the 7008 is an Update to improve the update capabilities to install further updates.

It is a poke at Android as all of Androids versions have had a name to do with pastry. You know Eclair, Froyo, Gingerbread, and now Honeycomb. It is just a way for Microsoft to make fun of Android publicly and not get sued for it lol. Look at the name of the next update, Mangoo which is a fruit. Fruit is suppose to be good for you and pastries are not get it? I think it is funny myself.

It's reasonably common knowledge why MS called it NoDo, but the poster asked what it meant, which is nothing really - it could have been called 'charlie', 'R2D2' or 'Hon Lionel Prinkinville III' - it's just a means of identifying it rather than imparting information.

You are correct it is just a means of indentifing the update. But it is a poke at Android and that is the reason Microsoft named/identified it as NoDo. Therefore I equate the NoDo or No Donuts to mean that Microsoft thinks their Windows Phone 7 OS is better than Android. Thus making NoDo mean WP7 is better than Android. I guess it is all how each indevidual looks at it. I just find it very comicial and had to post that as VirtualRenzo obviously had no clue about it. Microsoft and their silly word games

I could not find a article on the guy forgeting the donuts but I have read about that as well. But don't you think them making fun of that guy is where they got the idea to make fin of Android in the same way. But thos is not worth arguing about it is just a name. But the truth is the truth.

That sounds more like someone covering their butt from lawsuites to me. Somthing somebody said on twitter give me a break.
AlsocI am no blogger never have been never will be. The only reason I sited that link and quote was because you told me to do a quick Google search so I did and that is what I got, ot toke all of like 1 minute to pull that up. I never had a MySpace page, I don't use facebook matter of fact can't stand facebook, and twitter is even worse of a joke and a falacie in my opinion. I don't want to read whatever someone wants to just vomit out, or something they are writting to try to look cool. I try to stay grounded in facts and not fantasy that the corperate world would like for people and strive for people to stay in. I mean really do you think they would publicly admit to the name NoDo being a slight of word against Android. That would be grounds for a huge corparate lawsuite, and maybe even cause Microsoft to lose ownership of therlir precious new OS as a outcome of the lawsuit. At minumal it would cost them a very large amount of money.
Why are people diffending Microsoft anyway? Microsoft has never been called a saint. But the fact still remains call it a rumor or not the truth is the truth. Especially when it is so obviouse that a blind man could see it.
Beleive what you want to beleive, and continue to be blind if you want. I originally posted in thos thread because I thought others might get a good laugh out of it just as I did but I guess I was wrong.

Ok seens you don't think I can use Google (which you are torally wrong) here is a little article I got by using Google. This article does more than just says it is rumored it breaks it down just a little more, and shows it is a direct link to Android with the name NoDo. Funny thing is it was the third link on the first page of links Google pulled up and all I had to type in was NoDo, hmmmmm!
Also you think I can not search XDA, wrong again check out these post from XDA. Link #1, Link #2, and Link #3 And best yet one from you showing you really did not know for sure yourself not long ago.

I just wanted to point out that Froyo is Frozen Yogert... Don't forget Gingerbread and Icecream sandwich. Android is named after deserts. The Donut release was about 2.5 years ago... who runs that version?

My girlfriend, my mother, heck my boss seem like idiots to me when I see how they keyword what they want, and don't get results. And for the people who do find what they want, probably dont find exactly what they want.
But point is, yes, step one, is always use search. if you don't. someones going to ignore your question and tell you "USE THE SEARCH FUNCTION."

I am aware of this and the problem is.. awareness.
I used this thread to rant.
The mods may delete it.
My point has been made.
PEOPLE please pay attention. << this was my point as very few seem to read the rules or follow the guidelines.
The point is pointless as many have been ignoring the rules.
I am not saying we should ignore noobs.. help them but also inform them.
One forum i was part of tried using a gestapo attitude to this issue.
It was a complete mess.
It was only due to my efforts and love for that forum that it started to shape up and become a true medium for communication and development.

It is the capital letter "O". Compare it to any 0 in your serial #.

It is a alphabetical O. Asus should've used an International Ø symbol for zero...

And in my opinion a statistic is not a proof of... anything really other than that someone used a statistic as a proof.

I think this has been answered.... both in the forum and this thread. Closing before the idiocy becomes too much - thus opening a vortex which could swallow up all of time and humanity

Who has experienced scratches on their new S6 Edge? I know this has been discussed on various threads, but no one has seemed to have actually gathered statistics about how widespread this might be/is.
EDIT: This probably might belong in the Q&A section and not here, if it does a mod can feel free to move it!

It looks like a third of owners from TMO have a scratched screen. This is a big deal. People may want to wait and buy one at the store to make sure it is scratched free.

Definitely. Hopefully though when orders from AT&T/Verizon/Spring/others start coming in we'll be able to get a bigger picture of this whole situation. Maybe it's just a T-Mobile thing... wishful thinking?

Can any non-TMobile users chime in here? I know all the other major carriers are starting to or have already shipped units out.
i would say this is likely to be skewed results, the people with scratches screens, at least on google+, are prolly more likely to respond to this than ppl without scratched screens. Either way though, 30% on that poll saying scratched screens is a tad disconcerting..

I'd beg to argue the complete opposite - this poll is posted in the general forum, so any S6 Edge owner will come across it. Compared to the g+ poll, where you'd have to search pretty heavily to find it (at least in my case) which would generally imply you have that issue yourself - I don't spend my free time searching the internet for problems with the Flex 2 or Moto x Hopefully when more and more people get their devices we can start to paint a bigger picture about this whole situation.

The poll is critically flawed however.
It presumes those voting actually have an S6 Edge.
The fact anyone can tick yes or no without validating they actually have an S6 Edge makes any result scientifically untenable.
Anything so open to abuse without validation of proof will never be capable of truly being representative, or accurate. In a court of law, your evidence would be inadmissible.
Additionally it assumes that equal amount of people who get good and bad devices would be looking at a thread for pre-scratched screens when history as proved that those people with issues are far more likely to search and find threads than those which do not have issues with their device. It's called the distortion field of truth.
So as interesting as poll results like this are - they sadly will never ever be really indicative of a whole.

You may be right but I find it interesting it has been a steady 70 to 30 ratio since the first 10 votes. I did not expect such a steady result.

I never said these polls are completely accurate and I completely agree with what you're saying. But since there's no easy way to ensure people who are voting actually have the device, I feel like it's better to have some poll going than have nothing at all, because I highly doubt Samsung will have users "take a survey".
And maybe it's just me, but I still seem to have just *a little* faith in humanity - I like to think that people aren't being complete a-holes and ruining the polls just for fun -_-
Sadly one more for the yes choice.
Make sure you guys look at the screen under sunlight. I thought mine was perfectly fine in-store.
My phone, as well as my father's phone, both SM-G925i 64gb one black and one white, purchased in New Zealand, are fine and have no scratches on the screen out of the box.
