So, I finished the install on my new head unit last night and everything works beautifully except the wifi. It will not come on at all. I go into settings and click the wifi on button and it just sits there "To show available connections turn on your wifi." I was thinking about doing a factory reset on the unit, but I can't find the password anywhere. From everything I've read it's probably going to be a hardware issue so I'd like to get a USB hub and a USB wifi dongle, this would be cheaper and faster then sending it back to Eonon. Everyone says you have to get a powered USB hub for this to work, so where are you guys plugging these hubs in at to get power? All of them say 5v 2.5 amps and that's a lot less then my truck puts out. Anyways, I guess my questions are... Does anyone have any suggestions on troubleshooting the built in wifi (password to do a factory reset maybe). What USB hub would you suggest? How are you connecting the hub to your vehicle's power? What USB wifi dongle would you suggest?

Alright, this is what I came up with for the USB hub.
Amazon B074H66N8Q
Amazon B00C0KL1OM
Amazon B071F5LWS1
There are several passwords. I have the same radio, wifi works fine for me.
Eonon Passwords
Bluetooth: 5802 (Factory Default)
Reset Factory: 7890
Developer Options: 7890
Extra Settings: 123456
Last night I was getting everything put together and I had everything disconnected, after I reconnect the stereo I turned my truck on to make sure it was working and to my surprise wifi came on. I was so happy! I turned the truck off and back on reset the stereo and wifi was still working. So, I hooked everything back up, plugged in my usb camera and usb hub, turned the truck back on and wifi was not working again. After some tinkering around I figured out if I have anything plugged into the blue usb cable wifi doesn't work. Here is a video of what it is doing. For now I just wont use that usb port.
Did you end up working out what the issue is or just replace? I have a similar issue (haven't checked the USB where is only connects to my mobile hotspot. Every other WIFI doesn't show up. Will need to check the USB.
Cheers

Okay so I'm starting to get fed up with this phone and my head unit...
My head unit (there are no settings to change this) automatically defaults to the USB connection, when a USB device has been plugged in (in this case my cell phone to charge)
I use Bluetooth audio streaming so I have to constantly switch back to bluetooth mode which really isn't a big deal...there's just a couple problems
If I do NOT mount the cell phone for SD card access...my head unit will constantly try to read it, and after about 20 seconds, it will reset the connection with the phone...and I will end up back on USB mode on the headunit
To solve this I am using Auto-mount...
BUT if I use auto-mount, then my cached stations on Slacker aren't available...and so I have to turn off USB storage... (If USB storage is turned on and THEN off...the headunit will not default to USB again...it will leave the connection alone)
You can imagine my frustration when getting in and out of the car
Seems to me the simplest way to fix this would be to disable the USB data portion all together based on what my cell phone is connected to.
ex. If I plug the phone to my computer, I get USB storage
If I plug the phone to my headunit, it will only charge the phone
IS there a way to do that???
You could find a USB cable that only has the power wires (one came with a bluetooth headset I bought), make your own cable (cut the data line), or use something like the iPhone USB Charging Adapter ThinkGeek sells (I do not know if it would stop the car from seeing the phone)

I'm having the same problem. The only thing that works is to unplug the device for a minute and plug it back in. I still looking for a permanent fix. Perhaps it is overheating or the antenna sucks. I'm thinking about opening mine up to take a look...
Not sure if this helps: I was able to kill the wifi by placing my hand over the android icon on the case for a few seconds (I did it a few times to make sure it wasn't a fluke). It seems as though the wifi never reconnects after a drop and I have to restart the device to get it back.
More info: I have been powering the device from an empty usb port on the TV. If I use the included adapter, it seems to be a little bit less flaky. For example, I can cover the device with my hand and it wont kill the wifi.
ok thanks i will buy a new one MK809II this one worked only 1 day:crying:

I have a mk809 bought from Justop. I used an old mobile phone charger that outputs 1A. This is the absolute minimum as you should use a 2A power supply. I only use the USB port for a wireless dongle for my perixx keyboard/mouse.
A USB port from a TV will not provide the full 2A power supply - at best you'll get 1A but, more likely, less than that.
For all the others out there having strange behaviour and/or reboots/wifi drops etc have a look at the power output of your power supply and make sure you are giving it a reliable 2A.
A lot of problems with Android sticks have been solved this way.
Hope this is useful to someone!
ok but i only use the usb power that came with the mk809 , i am thinking of trying a wifi wireless usb dongle, do you know which one will work
I have a SIM card with unlimited data that I'd like to use for my Android unit. Joying PX-5 that I have has two USB cables, so a 4G modem USB dongle sounds like a solution for this.
Are there ones that are recommended? Is it as simple as plugging the SIM card in, plugging the modem into USB cable and it has 4G connection every time I start the car? or are there any power or other issues I'm missing? I was also thinking of dedicated an old phone to the same task, but it has o be charged and I'm not sure Joying USB port is capable of doing that (plus the car sits for a week sometimes).
Any and all info is appreciated.
Does anyone have any info? Do I just plug the USB modem with SIM card into a USB cable and get internet, or do I need to install or enable something in the unit to use internet this way?
Got a Huawei E173 to try out. Upon plugging the modem in the, unit sees it after a few seconds of pairing and is able to access internet. However, turn the ignition off, turn it back on and the unit loses the modem. Unplug-replug the modem into the US cable and Joying pairs and sees it again. Any thoughts on how to fix this?
PS. Joying is one of the most useless companies I've ever dealt with. Emailing back and forth with them, I got them saying that this unit can work with a USB modem, this unit can't work with USB modem, they don't have a manual (!), they are not responsible for anything... Kids, don't buy crap like Joying. Mine was in the car when I bought it but if I ad to pay even $50 for this piece of crap (vs. $250 that it, apparently, cost) I'd be pretty upset.
I was playing music from a stick on one of the two USB ports on my Joying PX5 today. Left ort when display is facing me, if it matters. Suddenly unit started rebooting, tried to reboot a few times. After it finally decided to turn on, the unit did not see anything in that USB port. Not the stick with music, not my USB modem. Since the modem doesn't even show the power light, I assume that either USB port/cable is completely dead or it's internally turned off somehow.
I checked and both stick with music and the modem stick worked fine in the other USB port.
Help, please! What do I check if anything, hoping that this is not a hardware problem?
Anyone with any ideas?

Just buy USB extender i.e. https://images.app.goo.gl/gJ52W2oUxaQKp4jp7
I can buy a USB splitter. But will Joying simultaneously see two USB sticks with music or a music stick and a USB modem stick?

Working on any tablet. Why not on PX5 ?
I would like somebody who's done it to confirm
Hiya, new to forum. Done a search and couldn't find any specific help for my issue.
I have an XTRONS android 12 headunit specific shape for a MK4 Ford Mondeo. Model number is PFS7FSFA_B.
The issue I have is with the USB cable and android auto. I had issues with the stock software for screen mirroring in that it needs an Internet connection (better than a mobile hotspot I've read) to validate or something. Couldn't get that to work. Some googling found me the HUR Headunit Reloaded app.
Paid for that and downloaded it. Managed to get it all setup and working. Then after changing screen resolution in the HUR app it would no longer see that I connected my phone. It would charge but wouldnt actually connect.
I'm using the red USB cable that plugs into the headunit per the instructions.
Issue seems intermittent as yesterday I got it working after a lot of fiddling, then it stopped. Then I pulled the power to the Headunit and it got going again.
But this morning not working again.
I attempted to download the wireless app to try that but couldn't really understand which device needed the hotspot running on it as the instructions were a little ambiguous.
Phone is a pixel 7 pro.
Where should I start looking to troubleshoot this issue. OR are these units just junk in the first place?
Any help appreciated
For reference the USB cable I'm using is brand new, high quality braided cable, data transfer on other devices is fine as I checked, I also tried a couple different cables to the same avail. Leading me to think it's either a software issue in the headunit/app or an actual hardware issue?
Evening update on my USB woes, its now stopped charging the phone at all, it does register that I have plugged the cable into the phone, but when I check the "battery app" on the phone it does not show that its charging.
There were 2 USB cables in the box with this unit, a 4pin plug with a red USB socket, and a 6pin plug with a black USB socket, all the info seemed to point towards the red one labelled mirror link that I need to use. Can anyone confirm if this is correct? Do the 4/6pin plugs work differently or have different power outputs or something?
