Hello!
I have two issues with my N9005:
First and most annoying is some black pixels/dots on both cameras. Rear camera got two of these but they are visible only when i maximize the zoom so it's not annoying that much. The problem is about front camera - after a drop there is about 5-6 big black dots which are moving sometimes when I shake the phone REALLY hard. I bet it's dust INSIDE the camera, because I cleaned the lens, even picked the module out. Is replacement only way to fix this? I've found cheap camera module from Note N9006 - will it work with my N9005?
Second problem is bad battery condition. It doesn't drop like broken ones but it lasts quite short - I don't use background social synchronization and still I can't get more than 5 hours SoT (I'm on RR 5.8.5 with rom's stock kernel) How to check whether battery should be replaced? Or maybe it's normal Note 3 behavior?
Thank you in advance!
Time to replace battery . try anker brand .
If someone's interested - I just replaced the camera, because "dot problems" was getting worse. (Front camera was unusable!)

hi !
i have a problem with my front camera.
from what i can tell, there is some sort of a plastic ring around the lens, witch has moved out of place and it covers the top part of the camera. the result is seen in pictures displaying a dark area around the top right side of the picture.
anyone has any idea how this might have happen? or what do i need to do to fix it?
any help is apreciated
sorry for the bad quality of the pictures

nope. at least not in the past month or so.
but i noticed that the ring around the camera was a was a little out of place starting a few months ago (i did drop it somewhere about that time) but the pictures where ok, so i didnt bothered.
but it moved even more apparently , because until yesterday the pics and videos where ok.
i am not extremly gentle with my phone (most of the time i use a case when i go outdoor or at work) but i dont abuse it.
I have managed to fix the problem.
i'll leave a link with the tutorial for doing that, just in case someone else encounters this

I just bought a second hand Note 4, but there seems to be an issue with the camera. Sometimes when i want to take pictures and i start the camera, there's a weird buzzing sound and the image shown on screen is a bit blurry and i have to leave it a few seconds or shake the phone to make the buzzing dissappear, and the camera to start showing images properly. This doesn't happen very often though, and no matter what it will still take good pictures afterwards. Should i be worried? I'm guessing it's the OIS, should i consider replacing the camera in the near future? Or the OIS is different hardware than the camera?

I found this replacement camera on a canadian seller, do you think it's genuine samsung part? it also comes with necessary tools to replace it myself. if i want to buy it from uk directly it's around 60 quid, and i don't think it's worth it.

I have the exact problem i bought the note on the first day of realese but this problem first occured maybe like 2-3 month ago and it happens like maybe 3x times a month i am not particually worried about it but i also think that the problem is in OIS, pictures are still great and all. I would probablly take the phone to the official service but problem for me is that i rooted my phone and i dont know if they would accept my phone beacuse i have a void knox counter.
You can find the camera on eBay or Amazon and how to replace it on YouTube
I recently developed two black dots when I'm taking pictures. The darkest one (middle left) showed up about a week ago. Then a lighter one (upper center) appeared a couple of days ago. They move when I zoom in and out.
I sent my phone in to Huawei a couple of months ago to get the battery changed out. Have any of you had this before? Could this be debris on the lens or is there something else you guys think it's wrong that would require changing the camera?
Thanks for any thoughts or advise.

I've also noticed the light spot on my photos as well. I just started noticing it about 2 or 3 weeks ago. I thought it was on the glass that covers the camera, but I replaced that a few weeks ago while I was replacing the battery, but the spot is still there. Mostly noticeable in photos with a light background. I really have to look for it though. It's more of an OCD annoyance, because now that I know it's there I can't un-see it. Yours seems to be worse than mine is though. The spot on mine isn't as dark....not yet anyway.

I had similar experience a while ago. I had my phone repaired because it's SoC burned out and after few weeks I noticed these two black spots on pics. It turned out that camera sensor was faulty (never found out was it because of the chip repair). Luckily it was still on warranty and I got it repaired for free.
Thanks for the insight. Mine went out of warranty shortly after I sent it in to get the battery replaced. I've seen some videos on replacing the camera. Doesn't look too hard. I'll hold off and see if I doesn't get any worse until the new Pixel drops.

I have changed my battery some time ago so I have no warranty on my phone.. And a month back I got those kind of spots in my camera too. So I ordered a new camera (about 7$ @ ebay), changed it and now it's rocking as new. Changing the camera is easy after you get the phone open... Good luck.
Sounds like dust on the camera lens to me.

I thought of that and I wanted to take the glass off and blow it out to see but I wanted to ask around first. I still may do it anyway. I have a replacement glass piece already. Then I'll know if I need to replace the camera or not. That's if it gets too much worse or I decide to keep it another year as my main because I don't like the new Pixel.

It was few bucks more expensive that I remembered. But super cheap fix anyways.
I'll check the number from my original camera sensor when I get back home from work.
hi guys
i had the glass on my lcd replaced two weeks ago from somebody on eBay, did a pretty good job.
iv not used the camera untill last night. immediately noticed what a mess the image result was( shadows, blurry,
im assuming the battery cover was removed first before he installed a new glass??
im guessing that the cause my be a snudge, fingerprint mark inside the camers lens.
these images i took are of white paper....can i have your thoughts before i fire him a message

Using my stock camera app, I can only access the wide angle lens and I can't switch to front camera but when using gcam and open camera, i can switch from wide angle to front cam. Both stock and 3rd party cam app doesn't open the main rear cam. Is this a software problem, the module or the board? Thanks. This happened when I updated to oreo. I already tried downgrading but still the same
If no other app can open the normal rear câmera, could be a issue at the hardware level.
The fact that happend only after the upgrade could be just a bad timming...
I had the same problem with second hand lg g6 I bought. First owner claimed that front camera stopped working after oreo update. Other 2 cams was ok, but only when using third party apps, not the stock one. So i bought new front cam and replace it, and I saw that the screen was also replaced, but not by an lg authorized service. After the whole operation front cam didn't work and it also happend to main cam. Only wide angle was ok. Then i bought new main cam but it didn't helped at all. Problem's still not solved. Probably it's caused by motherboard, so buying new cams (like i did) is not a good idea I found one opinion on some forum, that it happends to phones with bad replaced screen... Anyway if you solve this problem, let us know! Good luck

I tried replacing the camera but still the same result. I think I'll just stick still to this phone until I buy a new one
I have similar situation. Just have updated from Fulmics 7.0 android to stock Oreo. Main camera focus was stuck, tried different camera apps didn't help. Bought and changed main camera, when disassembling the phone noticed that there was not warranty void stickers and no blue tag under the battery which helps to lift it, also no sticker on the phone vibrator (compared to the ifixit tutorial phone). Don't know if the LG decided to skip the few stickers there and there but I have bought it as a new. Anyway changing the camera didn't help, focus still stuck on the same position. Focuses only on items 20-25cm. I guess it comes from the motherboard. Will try to update to android 9.0, to check if OS have any influence.
