There are many teardowns/disassembly videos and pictures of the redmi note 3 pro, but they dont list the specific parts of it, like most ZEALER-fix images do (the ICs, and part numbers).
I have not found zealer teardown for it, at least with english gogole (i dont know chinese).
Does anyone have a link for a good quality teardown?
I need to replace the charger IC since yesterday it died. According to google it is this one, but I want to be sure. I cant look directly cause there's a shield is soldered on the IC.

Hey gus, got something to show you, a tip, and a question, i made a music video last week (Alicia keys/Rihanna cover) and used my note 2 for one angle. I figured why not start using it, i bought alot of batteries for it, i have a 64 gb card, and its 1080 like my other cameras. Obviously, the lens and sensor arent that great but in low light, and if its on a tripod, its pretty good, i was even able to add zooming later in the editing. The note 2 shot is the one with the drummer/rapper http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WeRceSDUjtk .
A couple things, first of all, here is the link for a tripod mount that definitely works for the note 2, if you buy any others, make sure they fit first. The whole stabalizer thing is stupid and it doesnt really do anything although i guess it would help you not block the lens or mic, it works great as a tripod mount http://www.amazon.com/Woxom-Slingsho.../dp/B008Q1XQ5Q
Also, does anyone know of any apps that will let you lower the gain of the microphone while taking video? because the mics on really all of these phones are abysmal!! Really if you were able to lower the gain, that would solve the issue, mostly. also, does anyone know if theres a way to get an external microphone working on the phone when taking video? when i plug in my video mic it still records from the internal microphones.
On a side note (no pun intended) i think its kind of cool that it records in stereo with the built in mics... i thought thatextra mic was just for when youre on speaker but it seems like its used for stereo... when did they start doing that with phones?
Anyway, tell me what you think of the video, again, the note 2 angle is the one on the drummer and the zooming is not the digital zoom while recording, but after in the editing. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WeRceSDUjtk
Hi Everyone,
I have a 64 gig aluminum Nexus 6p. I'm coming from a note 5 after reading all the reviews about this phone and the improvements in the camera. I was recording video of my daughter today and I've become accustomed to taking pictures while recording video. I dont see that option. It wasn't brought up in any of the reviews that I sawsaw. I thought that it was a basic thing. Is the a Hardware or Software limitation? Can you recommend any apps that I can buy that will allow this if there are any out there?
I'm also wondering about this because it's such a simple, but important feature that my pervious phones had. Anyone?
You will find that it's a software thing built into the samsung camera app.
I just checked and you're right it doesn't allow picture while taking a video. I find this strange since I just checked it with my Nexus 4, 5, 7 and they all allow pictures with video (i knew they did from a long time ago). Even gal nexus does. Strange....
Subbed. Wanna know
Wished it had this feature......nexus 5 had it why can't this one have it. 2 steps forward 1 step back. Could have used it this weekend during a wedding. Also why cant stock google camera app have recording AND picture buttons on 1 screen rather than switching between the 2.
Agreed this is a basic feature. I am amazed it is not there. I also agree that the video and camera were not separate screens but just one screen in the camera app with 2 buttons.
Any third party camera add this?
Not sure this is the right place but a friend told me to try this website for help.
What I am doing: Taking a Nexus 5x camera head,(rear camera) out of the phone and placing it on a 1 foot extension cable.
Purpose: to mount it on a DJI Inspire camera drone so that the drone can for the first time record better bit rate 4k video via this camera head at 200Mbit/sec instead of the drones crippled 60Mbit/sec rate it currently is limited to.
Why: because as a film director I want this small drone in places that otherwise I would not want to fly large drones with huge cameras in for safety reasons etc. And with the Cinema App on the phone really really good quality 4k is possible, but the camera head is inside the phone and I can't get that mounted and balanced on the quadcopter.
So, again I need to figure out what the connector on the ribbon cable is so that I can build or buy and extension cable to make this project work.
ideas where to start? I have gone to Molex, Digi-Key etc.....I dont' think I can get to Sony directly.
so I can't post an outside link yet, I can email etc a link to the images of the camera board if needed
Anyone?
Yer best bet would to try and, if the camera module of the DJI Inspire is the same, but factory downgraded, or indeed a different pin number, to simply make a pin-to-pin extension cable.
Thou shalt keep in mind this, as per Sony's site
It also operates with three power supply voltages : analog 2.8 V, digital 1.2 V, and 1.8 V for I/O interface and achieves low power consumption.

which means that there have to be at least 3*2=6 pins taken up by power and the respective ground, so the rest of the 24 pins must be taken by the MIPI D-PHY, which, again, straight from Sony, is a 4-lane job. Which must mean that 4*3(R G and B) equals 12, so another 12 pins straight to the IC that controls the camera. Another couple of pins taken by the I2C interface and the CLK, which might add up to the total of 30 pins.
Hope it helps
When I first picked up my Galaxy s7 Edge on Sprint, I wrote a post about poor quality, lack of stability, and a lot of people told me I was imagining it, or put it down to YouTube. Now watch this...
https://youtu.be/gF_PRYBFS84
That is a video I took in FHD60 (i.e. 1080p and 60 frames per second) - skip forward to 8 seconds. Unacceptable isn't the word. I should add, most of the time it's not as bad as this - usually just a really jarring stutter, but it's done this a few times,
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PnRAHEE-nB4
This one is 4K. Not as bad on the face of it, but the weird motion blurring and blockiness present is ...well, it doesn't feel very 4K. I also experience some skips/frame drops when filming in this mode.
I took approx 130 10-30 second videos over the weekend and skipping is present in most of them. I've even got to the point where I try and film everything twice (panning across a landscape) so i can hopefully minimize the likelihood of skipping.
This is my second S7 edge, after the first one developed a dead pixel within the first 2 weeks. I've updated the firmware to G935PVPU2APD3.
From what I've read online in forums, one user claimed that on a live chat , Samsung are refusing to admit it publicly, but there is nothing they can do to improve it. I believe this is a problem mainly with the US Snapdragon 820 chip - but I dunno, it could be an issue with the International version too - either way, I'm not happy but it looks like we have to put up with it.

Hi Dave,
I have the Snapdragon 820 processor and camera is SONY_IMX260
I've seen pieces online that say the Snapdragon fares worse than the Exynos in terms of performance, so it could be only really noticeable on those phones
Indeed, am no pro snapper so I cannot comment.
But the picture quality has been perfect on my device.
Am going to try this recording on the way home in the car now though (something i have yet to do)
I'll upload to YouTube for you to view if you like.
Any specific settings you used?

It happens with FHD60 most commonly. Panning the camera makes it most notable... that's pretty much it!
Just a question.. you are recording internally or on sdcard?
I don't think there's any way that is a hardware issue. Seems like something is going way wrong with the video recording on the software level - I'd be money it is digital stabilization going haywire. Was that turned off? If so, maybe it's broken.
So I started a youtube channel dedicated to video making and vlogging on the pixel 2 XL. If anyone is interested here is the link. https://www.youtube.com/user/jrharvey592
Ive tried to make really high quality content just using the phone to record everything and plan on doing a lot of tutorials for the Pixel 2 and XL along with any other android phone. If your interested in any topics let me know. The main point of this post is to show how capable this camera is considering its just a smartphone but also to help anyone else that just has their phone but wants to make really high quality content for the web. Again... If this is something you guys are interested in let me know and Ill be happy to take ideas or make tutorials.

Update: Added a new video for filming at night or low light https://youtu.be/YnBjJeMJ6Po
Just added a lot more videos
Hi - great videos. I have a Pixel 2 and have already downloaded cinema 4k based on your recommendation, and am looking to get a zhiyun crane. Would you mind adding notes/links to your youtube descriptions on products you have/recommend?
Love it! I'm glad you link to everything you use and recommend! Quick question.. I have the XL 2 as well, what do you do about storage? I haven't made it through all your videos yet to see if you cover this (but I am subscribed!) and just wondered how you get around the limitations of the built-in storage.. Is it really an issue? I'll be honest, I've not recorded much of anything on my phone since I bought it..
This is really good. I'm trying to mount a portable studio of sorts. My only grip with the Pixel 2 XL is the lack of a headphone jack, and to make things worse... the USB C port is blocked by the Gimbal (I've got a Zhiyun Smooth Q) so I'm not able to plug my mic in that scenario. I've been looking around and it seems some users were able to get a nice setup like the one I'm trying to put together using a USB C to USB C angled connector (wich I lack and I'm not able to find just yet).
On the software side, I'm having some trouble with the camera app OP suggested (it crashes a lot and has some annoying bugs like a stutter when first opened), I'd love to hear what else you recommend guys. I'll give Open Camera a shot this weekend.
Google Pixel 2 XL, Zhiyun Smooth 4, and External Microphone
Would the above configuration work OK, do you know? Or would I have balancing problems?
I already have a Smooth 4 and am currently looking for a new phone. Now that Google supports external microphones on their pixel series, I'm considering buying the Pixel 2 XL.
Any help or advice would be welcome!
