Hi all, I've flashed Unlegacy Android 8.0 experimental build and am trying to enable doze. My aim is to enable doze so it will trigger when there's a notification and I be able to interact with it. I have to say I don't have much knowledge but I at least know how to replace apks. I tried searching for custom rom sources to see how doze is enabled, but I don't really understand what I have to enable and disable. I understand our device don't have the sensors required but I'm still quite confused. The code from nougat is of no help either. Thx!

As the title states, after nightly update of CM12 my phone was unrooted and I could not figure out why. After getting home and finding my pc could no longer detect my device I though, maybe dev options was removed. and sure enough I was right, so I was going through the options in dev options and low and behold what did I find, a nice little option to enable root. DEV OPTIONS HAS ROOT TURNED OFF BY DEFAULT. you MUST enable it after update to fix all broken programs. Sorry I could not find this in any other thread so I thought I could help
Um... root is switched off by default on CM and you need to enable it using Dev options.
There's a CM12 nightly thread in the G3 Original Dev forum and it's a well known fact.
I'm on stock android version 8.1.0 with FEB 1,2019 security patch level
Build number - OPM1.WW_Phone-15.2015.1902.340-20190216
I've not updated my device to latest update available as it have too much bugs, i'll never update in future too unless its better than oreo stable one
I want to enable camera2api in my device to use
On googling how to do it, many results came but few are too old when the device was launched or for pie, i can't get video/instruction for oreo 8.1.0 version on which my device is.
If anyone knows how to do it safely without any risk on MY version of android, PLEASE HELP/REPLY ASAP !!!!!
P.S - i want to enable it without unloacking bootloader or messing up the OTAs or messing up with system except enabling camera2api
Try the fastboot command to enable cam2api since you are still on Oreo (Search the forum, the credit should go to @shakalaca ).
If it doesn't work then you will need root access.
I need WPS feature and spoof location for daily work but as our Lavender comes with Android 9. It's not possible. I searched for way arounds but nothing seemed to work. So I'm thinking to build a AOSP ROM running Android 8.1.
I don't know where to start from. Anyone can give a headstart?

Hello everyone i have N9005 i wanted to record calls but couldn't with every program i have.
after googling i found that i can't without xposed so after a few hours of reading i found out there is root xposed and custom rooms so if anyone out there willing to help
Explain the difference between xposed and root
Easiest way to record calls on note 3 both sides
Are custom roms safe , i have had this phone since release never had an issue with original rom and now i use it for work mainly which is the reason i need to record calls (work orders are by phone)
If custom roms are safe could someone rank them based on their merits and drawbacks
My note is the international version i think KSA CSC 4G
Sorry for the long thread and thanks in advance for the help.

Rooting is the process of allowing users of smartphones, tablets and other devices running the Android mobile operating system to attain privileged control (known as root access) over various Android subsystems. As Android uses the Linux kernel, rooting an Android device gives similar access to administrative (superuser) permissions as on Linux or any other Unix-like operating system such as FreeBSD or macOS.
Xposed is a framework that allows users to easily apply add-ons (called Modules) to the ROM. Rather than flashing a new ROM to get a specific feature, you can use Xposed to add individual features to whatever ROM you’re using, or even just the stock ROM.
Xposed doesn’t work perfectly on every device and all versions of Android. The release of Android Nougat presented some problems for Xposed, but those have since been mostly ironed out. Xposed Modules work best on stock Android and can sometimes not work as intended on Samsung devices. With all that in mind, let’s learn a little more.

No as many roms on here are no longer under development almost end of life development apart from Android OS roms .
Thanks for the info fo you know of a way i can record calls on note 3
Some rom do consist of built-in auto / manual call recording feature. I have tested that on crDroid (pie) and the result is good. You don't even need any exposed module.
Hey guys, I've tried searching around, but I haven't really found what I'm looking for. I finally have a degoogled LineageOS 18 build up. Took me a while but I did it. But now I can't find the same level of tutorial support for getting microg stuff up and running. Notifications are a must for me, so I didn't know if anyone here knew of any good tutorials to get it up and running? Camera also is a thing, but I haven't really tried looking at that yet. I'm going to revert to stock and figure these things out before fully committing. Any help would be great

Hydrogen OS is Google free and a stock rom with full functionality
You could try the custom ROMs and leave out Google If you don't want to have those services.
In regards to OOS you could install xXx and then remove the Google software using the profile.
I know also there is a Microg installer revived magisk module available, but I haven't got to personally test it on OnePlus 8 Pro. I'd sure be interested if this would work okay as an alternative on our device. Thanks
