Strange S7 Edge - Binary Custom Knox 0 - Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge Questions and Answers

Hey folks,
Has anyone of you ever experienced something like that?
Explanation: A custumor came to our store complaining about his non booting phone (bootloop).
He swears he never touched the Software e.g. rooting etc..
I've always thought that Binary Custom & Knox 0 isnt possible?

Interrupted/failed OTA can cause this. Happened to S6 I owned once. Reflash official fw with odin.

Galaxy S8 has only 16GB after rooting with Magisk

Hi,
I've bought a Galaxy S8+, rooted it succesfully with Magisk, disabled some apps, installed a custom Kernel and so on.
Noa after tripping KNOX, I saw one thing: On "Storage", the phone says "16.00GB available". What's up with that thing, there isn't even a S8 with 16GB on the market. Have I done something wrong?
I am a bit dissapointed, because I cannot exchange it anymore now (Because of tripped KNOX)
I am on stock sammy rom (7.0).
Any help is greatly appreciated
recover it using the main restore program on the phone and see if that fixes it
Did you find a fix? Just wondering if there's anything I can do I'm in the same boat

Yeah, I solved it months ago by entering in TWRP, selecting Wipe > Repair or change file system and then resized filesystem or something like that and then it displayed 32GB normally after boot. You won't loose your data by "resizing" the filsystem, but make a backup first, because things can go wrong.
I fixed this issue so many months ago that I even switched phones in the meantime. I am a happy S7 Edge owner now (Yeah, I found it better than the S8).

S7 edge Rooting safe ?

I had an s7 flat and i rooted and installed a custom rom then one day it suddenly started to restart and went into bootloop i tried reinstalling the rom and it wouldnt install then i tried installing stock rom and got it installed and it wouldnt boot still then i got it checked and the person replaced its emmc chip and told me not to flash roms
I wanted to root my s7 edge i wanted to ask whether it would lead to the same consequences?
Should such a problem occur in the s7 cuz ive rooted and flashed alot on the s4 and no problems occured.
I heard it happened on the note 1 but can it occur on the s7?
emmc is flash storage
This can happen whenever if you are unlucky enough and not because you flash roms.. (happens on untouched phones too)
the only thing flashing custom roms or rooting will do is void your warranty (and trip knox)
so yes rooting is safe if you know what you are doing

Changing the knox after reinstalling rom stock

My S7 Edge claimed to change the knox (0x1) after reinstalling ROM stock. I reinstalled the ROM because it was showing some crashes. I have never done ROOT, I am the only owner and I have seen other people who have faced the same problem. Is it possible for Samsung to issue any fixes to fix this? For there was no change in the system.
you can't it's definitive

Nope, tripped is tripped

Knox 0x1 and Status: Custom

Hi all,
I had a weird problem on my european Note 3. I've never rooted my device, nor installed custom APKs. I was experiencing some random reboots recently but that's it.
Yesterday checking the phone status menu I noticed that my Device Status is "Custom" and by rebooting with volume up now I see that the warranty bit has been set.
It wasn't like that before (even recently) and no non-play-store app or anything else has been installed since then.
Any suggestion? Anything I can do to be sure that nothing intruded my phone?
R
Still no one experienced the same?
Flash a stock ROM using Odin and it should change back to official. Knox can't be reset.
warranty should be long gone by now and I doubt there'll be any more updates for it from shamsung.
Root it,install an anti-adverts host file then install a weeded out/debloated original rom.

[A500FU] Binary=CUSTOM Knox=0x0

Bought a A5 (SM-A500FU) on ebay and noticed that binary and system status are custom wich usually means the phone has been rooted/custom firmware has been flashed but knox status is 0 wich implies that only signed firmware has been flashed.
Does anybody have an idea why idea how that couldve happened?
There is nothing to worry about. Knox 0x0 means no root, since forever.
For peace of mind, run Phone INFO 3.8.5 and check.
