Has anyone ported oos camera to work with custom rooms?
Yes. Just search through the threads. Most Custom ROMs contains an working OOS Cam. I believe there are 2 versions of an flashable OOS Cam zip. One in the RR official thread and one in the App, Mods, Themes thread. Or just download the flashable OOS Cam from "Katinatez" at AFH (use Google)

So far, I have tried flashing stock camera, as well as AK kernels as suggested from oneplus forums. The cameras themselves work on certain rom(Exodus, Blisspop) but they do not work when you are making video call, and your phone just crashes or Skype app crashes.
Here is the link for the flashable stock camera for cm based ROM (you can flash hydrogen camera onto OxygenOs from this link):

Thanks.
Hi
I'm tired of people spamming the threads of the roms complaining/requesting about Viper, Firmware, SuperSU Magisk and yellow flash in the Camera App, So I'm posting this thread with all the resources.
All these firmware, Camera App with white flash as well as Viper works with all Lineage 14.1 based roms as well as AOSP roms. I've tried and tested them with Lineage OS 14.1, Viper OS rom, AEX and Cypher OS. And Yes, Viper4Android works even in roms in which SELinux is set to Enforcing.
Package contains:
1) September Firmware for MIDO
2) MIUI Camera App which clicks photos with White Flash. Note : Torch will still use Yellow Flashlight, but who cares about that? No other camera app can use white flash as the process/code which needs to use white flash is there only in MIUI Camera App and No one knows what that is.
3) Viper 4 Android (Works with latest AOSP and Lineage Roms even if SELinux is set to enforcing in the Roms)
4) Magisk 14.0 (Recommended for AOSP based Roms and not for Lineage OS; If you want to pass Safety net successfully, then use Magisk 14 and not SuperSU)
5) SuperSU 2.82 (With Lineage Roms use Official SU on Lineage OS Site)
6) Lineage SU 14.1 (For Lineage 14.1 or Lineage based roms ; After Flashing from Recovery, go to developer options to enable root for Apps)
Installation :
1) UnRAR files first. Then flash whatever ZIP File you want to install from custom recovery (TWRP or equivalent) only.

Hello all,
I am on stock Android Naugat ROM. I've just unlocked bootloader and enabled Camera 2API. But none of the GCam mods working in my phone.
Can anybody please suggest me which camera app should I use for portrait mode?

(Link below) GCam works, it has Lens blur option but not portrait..

Also, GCam 5.x+ require Arm64, which is not possible on stock ROM and custom oreo ROMs are not stable enough for camera stuff..
Tried more oreo roms. Google cam is only working on Pixel Experience rom. Why not working on other rom? Need to change any system files? Why there is no proper guides for new users
edit- Gcam working fine after flashing Gapps.
Hello,
I can't take pictures on any gcam and any other camera app on any custom rom (havoc, dotos etc.) I have tried many camera apps (and stock asus camera too) and none of that work. I can't take pictures! It there any way to get camera app working on any custom rom pie 9.0?
Asus Max Pro M1 4/64 variant.
Please help!

If you are referring to official Asus pie beta release then its in beta , gcam won't work, at least till date it isn't working.
Wait for the stable release, hopefully Asus will provide the option to turn on camera2api
If you are rooted and referring to custom pie roms then wipe the system and install fresh don't restore any backups from previous roms even if its apps only.
If you had enabled camera2api earlier then try and disable that, and wipe data system and cache and install custom rom
This is all i can suggest, can't think of anything else which might help.
I no longer root my phones been years since I used any custom roms...
Hope this might help

Try clean flashing the ROM again.

Flash dotOS latest it has camera2api enabled nd inbuilt gcam
try flashing darkonahx or pbh kernel (latest) in a clean flashed custom rom (havoc, dot, liquid, aosp, etc), can help with battery and camera. If you are in pie beta by asus then there is no way for gcam to work.
