I'm seeing a lot of people posting about issues with their G6 thinking it is wet and blocking charging. I've had this a few times, despite it never being wet but what I'm getting that is far more frustrating is the phone will randomly just get stuck in a loop where it thinks the USB cable is being plugged in, removed over and over. It just sits there killing the battery.
The USB port has been cleaned as well as it can. These issues only started with the latest software update.
I've had a G4, G5, now G6 all with serious manufacture problems. So over LG garbage.
Anyone else experiencing this? I haven't seen it mentioned.
I'm also experiencing this, mainly when the phone is connected to the car, and it's intermittent.
Easy to fix! disamble LG G6 replace port charger and will be ok!

Well, I'm stumped.
Plugged in my G2 to my car charger yesterday and noticed the cable itself and both connectors getting quite hot. Tried different chargers, cables, etc and same thing. Further troubleshooting today and I was able to get it to see a computer once, but now, with cable jiggling, etc, best I can do is get it to see USB charge on computer, no adb/data, etc. No issues with wireless charging at all.
VZW, Running CM-M4. I had always had some issues getting the phone to recognize charging/not charging before, but always was a software thing. (Take off charger, phone still thinks it's charging for awhile, etc).
I'm confused. I very rarely use the USB port, maybe 3x a week since always use wireless charging so seemed odd to already have a H/W issue with the USB port.
Thoughts?
I have been running the Google Play Edition from Danvhd for months without much issue.
The other day I went from 06/04/2014c to 06/08/2014 and everything seemed to be fine.
However, I did notice that my device was extremely slow when charging - and in some cases, it was draining while charging.
Started to grow a little more concerned so started watching the charge indicator when it was plugged in. I would see that the lightning bolt would come and go.
If I connect it to a Win7 PC, I get the sound that a device has been connected - but the hardware wizard never starts or after a few minutes it will start but fail immediately. If I unplug the device from the PC, I get the sound it has been disconnected.
I've gently worked the cable connector and USB plug back and forth to ensure its not a loose connection there.
I've reset, wiped, and re-installed - but it hasn't resolved the issue. I am using both 3rd party and original cables/charges.
Any ideas?
I'm starting to lean toward a bad USB board, but thought I would check here before I got into that.
Thanks in advance!

did it used to charge fast?? mine was the cable.. after i got a lg g2 fast charge cable i could charge the s4 in about 40 mins.. maybe less...
It did, but not any more.
Like right now I have it hooked to my PC at work and its charging somewhat. But it'll stop periodically and might not pick up again for an hour.
It has to be the USB Flex Board.
Well, I said that and as the day has gone on - the device started charging as expected and without issue.
Only thing was when I woke up this morning the device was unresponsive (black screen) after being plugged in all night.
Took battery out and back in and booted back up with 100% charge and no issue today with any charger or cable.
So, go figure.....
Replaced the USB Flex Cable and that resolved the issue permanently.
Think it might have gotten wet at the gym.
Hello, I'm experiencing this weird issue with my phone, after last update few days ago I put the phone on my Samsung S4 dock and the pop-up saying that charging has been disabled because the usb port was wet or dirty, but the phone was perfectly dry. Then I tried to charge it with a USB cable and IT WORKED and with wall charger (quick charge) as well but when I put it on the dock the damn moisture detection alert pops up and it doesn't charge.
I also tried with another dock, Samsung Tab4 dock (the big white one) and nothing changes, but both docking stations work with my girlfriend's S4....
I'm going crazy, please help me....

Had the exact same problem with my s7. I think it must be a bug in the update. Kept getting moisture detected when in desk and car dock but not on normal charger. Had to flash back to previous firmware to fix the problem. Going to wait until next update and hope the problem is fixed.
Had the exact same problem as well. I did not flash it back to the previous firmware version and was hoping that the next update would fix the problem but unfortunatly it didn't. I updated my S7 a few days ago and the problem is still there. I keep my fingers crossed that they will soon fix it in one of their futur updates.
Same issue
I was googling for a solution and came across this thread so thought I'd reply and see if it's been resolved for anyone else.
Whenever I plug in to my car charger I get the "moisture detected" message. I can charge fine from a wall charger. My phone is the S7 Edge. It started doing it after the last update. My phone has never been in water, or even splashed. It's frustrating, due to my job, I use the car charger far more often, and now I can't.
I was also searching the web for a solution and came across this thread. My phone is a Samsung Galaxy S7 (no edge) and has the exact same behaviour since I've updated it in early September.
I am trying to charge it on an official Samsung dock from a few years back (Galaxy S3). Everytime I get the moisture detected error, however it charges fine on every other charger I have. The latest October update didn't fix this problem
Same issue

Hello, I experience the same issue. Whenever I plug in the phone to my car it detects moisture although the phone has never been in any contact with water whatsoever. Wall chargers work perfectly fine. Is this issue connected to the latest update?
Are there any updates on this topic, any solutions?
Thanks a lot!
having same problem with my s7. Both of my Motorola car chargers cause this error message to occur, although the chargers work fine when charging my car's Bluetooth speaker. my other chargers in the house work fine also.
I feel your pain
Exact same issue with a brand new, mint from the box S7 Edge. It displays the "moisture detected" message on all three docks in my house, yet is fine charging off a cable, with an adaptive fast charger, regular charger or even the wall wart that came with a Google Chrome Audio. It looks like something the dock sends out to tell devices that attach to it is confusing the phone firmware. I had a Note 4 prior to this, and the dock nullified the adaptive smart charger function, so clearly there is something more than just pass thru going on with the docks. It did charge the Note 4 though, albeit at the slow rate.
Same here, S7 edge charges perfectly on all cable and cheap China docks, but NOT on the official Samsung EDD-D200BE. The only difference I see is that all cheap dock are really pass thru and this Samsung dock is trying to do something with audio (has a audio jack) and other intelligent things.
Probably too intelligent for their own S7.
Hi all,
Need help as if hit a massive dead end.
So I've got a g928f that is random rebooting, flashed it with stock firmware (latest btu) still random reboots!
Changed the battery, still random reboots!
No DRK errors or anything and no shorts that I can find on the board either.
Only boots while charger is connected!
Carnt send it into Samsung either as it's been opened and just out of warranty
Please help at a dead end, thanks!
the fact it only boots with charger connected makes the issue sound more hardware then software. does it boot if charging wireless? a short or issue with the charging port could be the culprit. the charging port is a tiny little chip inside the phone thats connected to the mainboard, i think its like 30 bucks to replace. might be worth your time to test that out. it might not even be something you can see easily with your eye, the board itself might be not working. If it will only boot when USB connected to a power source you can almost bet the usb port is going or power is not flowing out from the battery in a high enough voltage maybe, ive seen older phones power on with no battery at all, just plugged in.
Hi, this is a bit of a long question. I had an LG V20 that I was having an issue where it wouldn't charge if the USB-C end of the cable was plugged into the phone the wrong way . I could only get it to charge if it was plugged in one way and even then it wouldn't fast charge. I would get a message that it is going to do regular charging instead of fast charging and to use the original cable to get fast charging.
I also have an LG G6 so I thought I would try the charging cable from that phone and see what happens. Well, it worked perfectly fine with the V20, fast charging regardless of which way the cable was plugged into the phone. I also tried the V20 charging cable with the G6 and it works when plugged into the phone either way (instead of just the one way with the V20), but it does not do fast charging.
What could be the reason that it won't do fast charging and that it only worked when plugged into one phone a certain way while the other phone it worked either way?
Got exactly the same issue since today. Maybe after security patch day before yesterday?
It only charges when the cable is plugged in with the smooth side up.
If i plug it in with the "creased" side up, the phone freaks out about slow charging and moisture detection.
