Good morning, I am having issues installing the new OTA update for Oxygen OS. I have tried re-flashing the full 2.0.2 zip to get rid of root and then flashing the OTA but I get an error about unexpected contents (see attached screenshot). Any ideas please?

Not sure. I know I had to fully recover with the ROM from this thread. I flashed it in TWRP.
After flashing, I allowed the device to reboot, did minimal setup, and connect to WiFi. Immediately, I got an update to 2.0.2. After update finished, I put the 2.1 OTA zip on my internal storage, rebooted in NOW STOCK recovery, and attempted to install the 2.1 OTA. It said "failed," but when I rebooted it automatically seemed to apply the update and I booted up into 2.1. I don't know if that is helpful, but it's what worked for me. BE AWARE: After doing all this, my bootloader became locked again. I had to boot into system, enable unlock, and re-fastboot oem unlock.
EDIT: for awareness

Thanks very much for your reply - I will give this a go tonight when I finish work. Is there a specific ROM you flashed out of the two in the above links? :good:
Best do the newest, but the full 2.1.0 ROM has already been posted here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=62942838&postcount=68
Just tried the above method but unfortunately it failed for me, couldn't get passed 2.0.2 - downloading full zip now.
I have 2.0.1, do i have to update to 2.0.2 first and then to 2.1?
Has anyone had some success?
You can try the above method but it did not work for me, just dirty flash the full 2.1 zip that is now available.

No it is an issue with the current official version of TWRP. The device name was set to oneplus 2 instead of OnePlus 2. When installing the ota it is case sensitive. A new version is currently being worked on 2.8.7.1 which should resolve the issue.
For now it is best to just flash the full rom, It will install.
Thanks
Tried to download a full rom 2.1 and install via TWRP, but get the same message. Any tips where to download a full rom whos working, thanks.
Beta of TWRP 2.8.1 anywhere?
I download the packacke via OTA and restart device. Then it boots to TWRP. I have to reboot device again and it goes back 6.0.1 with failed update notification. My deivice is unroot and still lock bootloader. Is there anyone having the same issue with me? And possible way to fix?
Thanks

You have to restore stock B29 recovery. You can't accept an OTA with TWRP.

It still fails. After restarting device it boots into installing screen with miFavor logo instead of TWRP. The processing bar runs to about 24% then stops to reboot. I notice that the log at bottom screen say mismatch. And I got message system update package does not match the phone.

You have to install it in stock recovery. Put it on your FAT32 sdcard and then in stock recovery select "Apply update from sdcard".

I got following message at bottom left of screen
Supported API: 3
Sorry, you can't sd upgrade
I think you have to enable OEM unlock in developer options, first. Then, you can install B29 via SDCard.

Thanks. I forgot to unzip the file and put it in the root of sd card and I have done what you said too. It is running installation now.
I'm failing now? I went from ZAD v.3 back to stock B29 (I have an unlocked bootloader). I do have the MiFavor recovery (not TWRP)
I got the notification there was an upgrade, it took 6 hours to download... but the update "failed". I tried applying the update via SD card, but I get about 32% in and says "Update failed"......It also lists "Status 8" and "system partition has unexpected contents".
Sounds like y'all are having a hell of a time between the slow OTA speeds and then getting it to actually flash.
So I think I'll hold off for now. Hopefully we can get some TWRP-flashable zips soon enough... I think DrakenFX is already busy with all that
You guys are making this way too complicated.
The full B29 firmware will flash just fine with twrp.
Only OTA *updates* require the stock recovery. The difference is the update patches existing files while the full firmware contains full partition images.
Be aware if you download the full b29 firmware from zte, it will also replace your recovery and bootloader. You won't be able to flash recovery from the bootloader/fastboot screen then. Also, it wipes all your data.
DrakenFX put out a modified version of the full firmware file which doesn't modify the bootloader. I believe it also leaves the recovery intact.
After flashing official A2017U B29 firmware from ZTE the signal network service is lost. I ignore this and continue to upgrade to Nougat successfully and I get lost signal. I notice that Dual Sim Setting is working. Does official firmware overwrite original chinese baseband/bootstack? Can someone please upload chinese baseband/bootstack A2017 please?

No more complicated than it's turned out to be....
I followed DrakenFX's guide to B29 stock... The Nougat OTA downloaded, in 6 hours, but failed. So, I tried the SD card method, and it also failed at 32%.
Not sure what else I can do? Just wait for DrakenFX to make ZAD v.4 is my plan for now since I already wasted about 11 hours trying to upgrade today, and another 3 restoring back 6.0.1 and all my apps.

No problem upgrading using the OTA on an sdcard here. Flashed the draken stock_system zip, then fastboot flashed the B29 stock recovery. Reboot to recovery (which is now stock) and update from sd card. If you've messed with other partitions, you may need to flash more B29 .img's.

Well, I've never flashed one either. This is my first OnePlus device.
The link you posted is the official one for downloads and the size of the full ROM I understood is 1.5 - 2GB. So it seems you do have the right file.
You could flash the stock recovery img with TWRP - it can be obtained from the same link - and flash the OTA zip with that.
During the flashing process of the OTA you would've lost TWRP anyway, so it's not a big loss.

Hello,
today i wanted to update my *rooted* WAS-LX1 to B182, so i downloaded the update.zip and tried to flash it with FlashFire.
Then my phone booted in Error Mode. So i tried to boot in Fastboot mode, and it worked. So i flashed TWRP and now i want to install Stock firmware again, but i don't know which file i should flash. I've got 3 files called update.zip, update_data_full_public.zip and update_full_WASL21A_hw_eu.zip.
I hope you can help me.

To update my rooted phone to B182 I had to download the full package (2.3gb, including update.zip and update_full_WASL21A_hw_eu.zip). I was not successfull in updating via TWRP. I updated via the official system menu so I don't know how exactly it was applied. According to other guides (http://www.stechguide.com/tag/was-lx1c432b182/ for example) it should be update.zip first and update_full_WASL21A_hw_eu.zip second, without a reboot. Let us know how it worked out...

I only tried flashing the update via sideload and recovery and it didn't work (http://rootmygalaxy.net/flash-ota-firmware-updates-using-adb-fastboot-commands/). Maybe you are lucky. Problem is, I'm quite new to this stuff, hopefully someone else can help out.

By the way, i solved the problem. I downloaded HuaweiUpdateExtractor for extracting the .img files from the update.app and i flashed them with fastboot.
Nice, congrats
This morning I my phone pesented itself in TWRP.
Maybe this is because over the past days I repeatedly got notifications that a system upgrade wanted to install itself (I have a modified 26s X720 from Tora33).
I rejected those notifications.
Now I am stuck in TWRP and I cannot get around it. What I tried:
Reinstalling previous firmware (Tora33 26s) still on the phone
Restoring a TWRP backup from 6 months ago (TWRP didn't see it, maybe it's from a previous TWRP version, I now have v. 3.1)
Flash via fastbood factory image using Mauro's Tool All In One (error message "can't find file mke2fs.conf")
Wipe data, cache, dalvik cache, system; then install Mauro_V2.2 cleansed 23s firmware which I transferred to the phone
Every time it boots up in TWRP.
Your bricked you never flash ota with twrp you should read before doing anything.
The only thing that can help is ofil.
I suggest you study well before trying it.

Oh boy. Thanks anyway. OTA flashed itself, couldn't stop it. Maybe I made it worse by trying to fix.
The bootloader is not locked according to the AIO tool. I can flash succesfully any firmware, only after flashing the phone will still boot in TWRP. It is strange it still boots in TWRP. Is there no simpler trick like flashing the standard recovery and then flashing OFW?
You mention Ofil; do you think the guide described here work?

Yes, that QFIL guide is for the x720.
In my opinion, the best way to return stock is to push update.zip into phones main folder, then install stock recovery, then in this one install update zip then check that OS is working. If it is, then go into twrp and wipe. Can't do it?
I'll mention myself;

No brick after OFW push 28s
The pushed (unvoluntary) update didn't brick my phone after all. This may be important for those that have modified stock ROMs with TWRP.
Not being able to restore OFW was a bug in Mauro's All-in-One tool which he fixed last night. After I could easily flash 20S or 26S stock from his repository. I would also recommend this as safest/easiest procedure. Afterwards you can just flash TWRP from the same tool and move from there.
By the way, immediately after flashing 20s the FW notified it wanted to update itself, again!
