My Aria seems to be bogging down / lagging and im thinking its cuz i dont have enough free memory.
Whats the best way to uninstall factory apps from memory so i can reinstall them to my sd card from the market?

Titanium backup works good to removing apps.

Is there a way to enable apps2sd with stock 2.2.1 firmware or if not what roms are available to do so?

Try liberty and/or root tools by jrummy16. It seems to be the most popular way to go.

Sorry, i gotta ask... why do this? DroidX has what? 8gb internal? apps2sd is not compatible with all apps (widgets, etc), and it certainly improve performance. AFAIK it also decreases sd card life? Why? It's not for more space, it's not for performance, and it's not gonna help compatiblity, why??
I have to go +1 on apps2sd being a bad call for the X. I had literally hundreds of apps on mine. Only a few play well with apps2sd, one reason I outgrew my D1. Memory is one thing they addressed with the X. You could fill it up, but there is just no way you would fill it up with apps you actually use. There is an app called apps2sd free on the market if you want to play with it, but I promise you there is no need, and after you test it, you will see that there's just no reason to use it. I actually went through and edited the apps that automatically install to SD (such as Twidroid) so that they would install to phone.
I just finished a new app that is about 32mb. I have 70mb of free space on my phone, but when I try to install the apk it says "not even space, could not install, please free up some space and try again." Even though the app is quite large, 70mb of space should be more than enough. Does anyone know why it won't install? Are apk's not allowed to be >30mb or something? This is the biggest app I've made so far so I haven't had to deal with this issue before, all of my other apps were less than 10mb.
It should have worked.
Here are the limits as I know it:
1. Android market allows a maximum of 50MB per apk.
2. Installing to SD card is also limited but I don't know the actual limit.
3. Installing to internal memory is limited to 50% of free memory.
Try adding android:installLocation="preferExternal" to your manifest file.
Disclaimer: things might have changed since the last time I checked, so I might be wrong.

I would prefer: android:installLocation="auto" so one can choose where to install the app and you can do different tests. Anyway may attention: this could be used only for api level >8 (it seems it could be used even for OS <2.2 but I've not tested for it).
Hmm I'll try that. I might look into getting a new phone as well because this Desire is starting to feel outdated. Internal memory is so small that I have to uninstall an app almost every time I want to install a new one.

What's the difference between apps2sd and just going into the default Android settings and transferring the apps to the sd?
The problem I have is most of the huge apps don't let you transfer them.

if I remember correctly, apps2sd allows you to move the entire /data folder to your SD card (/data is what takes up your internal memory)
just search "desire apps2sd" and I'm sure youll find something

I do not know why Sony want to keep 200M RAM
For example, even though I open a lot of programs, RAM uses about 70%. Then automatically kill other processes because RAM limit is reached., And I installed gameloft Vegas, but I could not play the game because insufficient RAM

In my friend's Sony Live With Walkman mobile free ram is only 43 and he was able to play Vegas without any problem...
Not sure if this helps but if you are rooted and you have ext SD card you can use link 2sd to move all apps to ext SD card and use folder mount to move game data to ext SD this will give you back more ram and storage space on device.
I use both of these and look at my ss

For both of these apps to work you need root.
Both of these apps are available on the play store.
For guide to use link 2 SD follow this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=919326.
For using folder mount use this thread
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2192122
Foldermount is free but limited to 3 active folders the pro version is available from with the app.
I found Foldermount is easier to use.
I moved all these files to ext SD card NFS most wanted, NFS shift, asphalt 7,real racing 3,reckless racing 1 and 2 and reckless gateaway.

To really answer your question, It is not Sony's fault nor Google's, the 200MB ram are used by the Linux kernel. All the kernel is loaded into the memory, it is the same for ALL operating systems. Windows do the same (you can see it in Task Manager under the Performance tab : "Kernel Memory"). You can't do anything against that except if you rooted your phone and you want to build a kernel, but you won't gain much memory for the pain...
The problem with this phone killing process is not because of RAM (it has plenty of it), but the latest Android versions doesn't allow too many Applications open at the same time (I remember something like 3 in Foreground... The V6 Supercharger thread has a good explanation )
From My Friend's Xperia T with Android 4.1.2 .. Sony increased the User Memory upto 870 MB... In ICS it was only 650 MB If we get an update like that means good..
I mean, in the free RAM, there are 200M is not available.
For example,if you wipe all data
total RAM 766M
system apps always used 366M
400M free
However, there is in this 400M,200M unavailable
When you free RAM reaches 200M, the system will kill the other processes in order to keep 200M free.
Sorry for my poor English

If you don't want to pay for the foldermount, you can do it manually, using symlinks, it isn't that hard.

I don't say increase, but I know methods to make free ram
Use tiny gapps
Uninstall some native( unnecessary) apk's
Hey bro use roehsoft ram expander for increasing ram as it swaps memory as it is a paid app on google play
