Please help - Samsung Galaxy J3 (2016) Questions & Answers

I have a Samsung galaxy J3 (2016) SM-J320A and cant seem to figure out how to root it. I have done research and tried to do what they said to do and when I unzip the file it wont let me open it to put it in developer mode. Any advice would be greatly appreciated

Some carriers actually lock it out. though are you sure your doing it right? (Settings-> about Device-> tap 5~7 times on Build Number.) if you get nothing or no response, then what carrier that shipped that phone (original brand not a referb) has most likely locked out Developer Options

Samsung Galaxy A8 (A-800I) Stuck on Logo Screen with red Custom Binary blocked by FRP

Hello all!
First of all i want to thank this site (and the people behind it) that makes everything android possible.
I feel privileged to be a member of this forum specially on rough times like what i am facing right now.
I rooted my Galaxy A8-A800i the other day and everything went great. I followed the instructions that i found here. Unfortunately, yesterday i turned off the OEM Unlock on my phone. Now, as the thread title says it. it is stuck on the Logo Screen with the annoying " Custom Binary blocked by FRP Lock ". i read a guide that ashyx made and i felt stupid. I didn't know that turning the OEM Unlock will do that to my Phone.
Right now, I am digging deep on this forums to try and revive my phone that is currently in Brick state.
i am downloading a firmware from sammobile for my phone, the problem i have is... i don't know how to use it. I don't know much about my phone but I do want to learn a lot and i know that this is the right place. I would like to ask assistance on how to use the firmware that I am downloading right now, and also, can i make the Knox Counter go "0" again?
Thanks for everything guys. I highly appreciate everything i've learned here so far.

Thank you!... i downloaded the stock firmware from sammobile. but whenever i extract it there's a rar message saying it is corrupted so i DLed a new one, it has the same result. I haven't tried using it to fix my phone but i will try right now. Ill give an update on how it goes.
Tried flashing the new firmware but Odin can't detect my phone. i have the latest Driver for SAMSUNG and i have the latest Odin. I tried restarting my phone and my computer several times but it still fails. i am really frustrated and our of options right now. Even if Odin detects my phone there's no guarantee that the stock firmware will be installed properly since it always shows corrupt when i extract it from zip

Install the Samsung drivers first, reboot your pc.
Start odin in Admin mode then put your device in download mode, plug in the usb cable. Your device should be detected.
Don't try flashing a corrupt firmware, it will be rejected anyway as it will fail the md5 check.
I suggest you use a different browser to download.
@ashyx hey! thanks for all your help. my internet went offline while i was trying to respond to the other thread. my phone is now fixed with your help. Thank you so much! only took 3 mins for the while Odin flashing to complete
This issue is now FIXED

Grand Prime SM-530AZ (Cricket Variant) Bricked

Hello I was recently trying to flash twrp and I somehow bricked my phone and I've tried some things but I cannot seem to get it unbricked so I'm coming here for help thanks.
Edit: Correction SM-G530AZ
(I tried doing this half asleep)
The problem is that the 530AZ has a locked bootloader so your failing the secure checks. You need to download KIES 3 from samsung and put the device in download mode, connect it to your pc with usb open kies 3 and at the top click tools then firmware upgrade and initialisation. It will pop up and ask you to enter the model name enter SM-G530AZ and click ok, now it will as you for the S/N which is under the battery so have that ready before obviously then press ok and follow the prompts it will reflash the stock firmware. I had same prob. You are getting the error screen telling you that you have flashed unauthorized software correct?
Thanks for helping toxinburn. Could you possibly help me install a few things I fear I might brick my device again.
Just let me know what your trying to do and ill see if i can help

Could we pull up some live chat somewhere?
At work right now im in usa central timezone but ya later

Is there a way to unlock the bootloader on this varient? I recently rooted my Grand Prime SM-530AZ, got Xposed and the Frameworks installed! Then I got a little overzealous and tried flashing TWRP fr the 530H. That was unsuccessful and I had to restore to factory recovery. I am now back to bein rooted with SuperSU installed and Up to date. I am trying to remember how I got the framework to work on my Grand Prime SM-530AZ. But what I really really want is a custom recovery. And in order to do so I am assuming I need to unlock the bootloader, correct? I (think) I used to have an option in my settings that said something like OEM-Unlock and I had it checked (I believe) but now I can not find this setting anywhere. Toxinburn I know you are a very busy guy and you do a lot for the community and it is greatly appreciated. But I was wondering if there was anyway you would be able to help me out with these few things? I would even donate to you for your time because like I said I am very grateful for you and your help!
I believe xposed wont work since we cant flash TWRP.
Correct. I will follow your instructions and see what happens. Thank you!!

[STOCK][FIRMWARE][MM][TMOBILE] G550T - UVU1APF1

T Mobile Stock Firmware files
I did a deep dig and managed to come across the attached files from this source (files conveniently contained in .zip below or feel free to download separately from the source):
(Note: these are T Mobile On5 stock firmware)
AP_G550TUVU1APF1.tar.md5
CP_G550TUVU1APF1.tar.md5
OPT_G550TUVU1APF1.tar.md5
on5ltetmo.pit
From what I read.. one should be able to flash with ODIN. However, I would suggest that you already have a good idea of what you're doing (which files to flash and under which tab in ODIN) before flashing your phone.
All the flashing I have done using ODIN I have done so using only the AP tab>make sure Repartition is off>and disable Auto-Boot (all of those instructions can be found in other threads on xda). However, if anyone would like to chime in with any additional pointers that they feel should be posted please do so.
Otherwise.. I hope these will help some of those stuck w/ that MetroPCS firmware.

Did you guys make sure to click the oem unlock in developer options? Without doing so Odin will always come back with a fail as samsung has locked the boot loader. To enable developer options go to about device and tap on the build version until you see a small pop up on the bottom of the screen saying developer options enabled or something to that nature. Then go back to settings and developer options will be available right above the about device section. Open developer options and scroll down and click one unlock. Once you have done so the try flashing with Odin. Reminder... oem unlock should remain clicked at all times or else &it won't work. Hope this helps.

This must be done BEFORE flashing. Not doing so can brick the device.

I assumed that the device was already bricked and that what they were trying to do is unbrick it again

Yea then if you updated then you may need to use another firmware file. I know that sammobile hasn't even released the one I have in my videos, so I believe you're gong to have some problems finding the upgraded firmware. I could be wrong though.

how to do this
I have a Galaxy On5 --Metro PCS version---
How can I disable or remove the update notices which sit in Application Manager and continually pop up and in the top Notification bar? I have checked all the videos on Youtube but nothing works.
My On5 is not rooted (I am happy enough with the stock version, I'm just worried about letting the update go through and messing up my phone.) I don't think the update's downloaded TO my phone. I can't find it and the notification keeps asking me to liberate more space for its download....
How to get rid of it and just stay with the original OS. Thanks for your help!
The system.img in this firmware is corrupt.
I want to flash it by SD Card is it possible?

Can't root my S7 Edge (Sprint)...

I have an S7 Edge from Sprint. I have tried several times to root it, but all attempts have failed. I have also tried flashing TWRP from Odin, but that seems to fail if the phone is not rooted.
Does anyone know where I can find instructions for a working root procedure for this phone?

You realize there's a website called google.com that results in direct results if you type in "galaxy s7 edge snapdragon root"
It's really not that hard, and no, you can't flash TWRP.

I'll help you buddy . Spoon feed you and everything.its because that what I do help people.. I don't ask like a smart a and tell you to go to he'll and look elsewhere I help you .If you have an sm G930p you have a snapdragon phone. You cannot put twrp or any recovery or rom other that a factory.rom. you must put the exact same firmware you have on it now.do not put a newer firmware on it if you intend to root!!. Right now they are at revision 7 and there is no root for it at all. Only 4 ,5 and 6.you can tell by the software version you
Have now..its the 5th number from the end of the software string.
Step 1: model number
Step 2: firmware revision number
Step3: root depends on above information
