Is there any pair of CDLA earbuds that works on S8? - Samsung Galaxy S8 Questions and Answers

Hello!
To my disappointment my leeco cdla earbuds ain't working due to a bug where S8 recognizes them as a usb storage device rather an audio unit..which results in another bug, doubling up the audio speed.
I don't know if it is a general bug with type c earbuds or it just doesn't work in the particular set.
Have you guys found any info or if there is some sort of way fixing this ourselves?

I'm using leeco ones, only problem is design of the s8's usb. It doesn't like to stay in tight

And it works fine for you? Are you on SD or exynos?
I have tried 2 exynos myself included and they all faced the same bug.

[Q] Bluetooth audio quality

Is there any way to fix the bluetooth audio quality other than switching to a CM-based ROM?
My old phone over bluetooth sounds fine. My S4 via a wired connection sounds fine. My S4 over bluetooth sounds like everything was sampled at 32 kHz. All other equipment is the same, so I'm relatively sure it's a bluetooth-specific issue. My girlfriend's S4 does the same thing.
So, any fixes? I'd really like to avoid switching to an aftermarket ROM right now.

Random guess: Could this issue be caused by the adaptive sound feature? I'm not a true audiophile, but I haven't noticed a problem through my receiver in the car or at home.
Try playing something with cymbals and a lot of treble. Turn the volume up a bit higher than normal while still maintaining a reasonable level. The cymbals sound like someone is smacking a plastic grocery bag with a stick instead of being crisp and clean like they should be. I can then disconnect the S4, connect my old phone, and play the same mp3 without any sound distortion. Or I can play the same mp3 from the S4 via aux and it sounds fine.
Try it on both bluetooth and aux. If you truly don't notice a difference, I guess it must just be my phone. If it does do it however, you definitely don't need to be an audiophile to hear it.
My old phone had the exact same problem until I moved to JB on a CM build. The problem there is well-documented as existing on the S3 (try looking up bitpool settings), but I kind of figured they would have fixed it by now. I'm coming from the world of HTC, so I was hoping there is a fix for Samsung.
Sorry to revive this thread, but I have an update.
My car has built-in bluetooth for phone only, so no a2dp. I have a third-party bluetooth adapter that I'm using for music.
I've found that when both of these are connected, the audio quality (especially on trebles and guitars with distortion) is absolutely terrible. That was the point of my original post. Since then, I've determined that this happens ONLY when I am paired with both my car and my third-party bluetooth. I can actually pair and unpair from my car in real time and hear the audio quality immediately get better/worse. The quality gets worse immediately when it pairs, even if the car bluetooth is not in use (but still connected).
I've verified this is the case with both my phone and my girlfriend's S4. Can anyone with such a setup verify this does or does not happen for them? I'm thinking this is a bug with the bluetooth stack, and it'd be nice if it could be fixed. If anyone can try pairing to two different devices and confirm my problem, I'll start a bug report with Samsung. Otherwise I'll try another bluetooth adapter for a2dp.

Earphones Compatibility

Does anyone know how the Galaxy S4 decipher the signals coming from the OEM earphones? I plugged them into my HTC One and the controls either dont work or have different functions. I'm curious as to how the volume control works. Is it a Samsung thing only? Is it hardware or software related? And If it is hardware related then whether is it the earphone themselves or the phone itself.
And another question, does anyone know a way to get volume control and mic control on an Apple compatible headset to work with the S4 or any android device? I prefer not to modify my earphones, but I don't mind getting an adapter if that's the case. I don't want to spend time modifying the adapters either. I've read that there are TRRS adapters to convert Apple TRRS to standard ones used in nokia, android, etc. devices, but I cannot find any for a decent price.
I tried several apps but they either have no volume button control settings or it just doesn't work with my headphones. Some did work with the Samsung OEM earphones though, but I'd rather use mine.

OnePlus 2 Hi-Fi audio and External DAC issues

Hey guys,
I have a Oneplus 2 and have been having some issues with my sound setup.
I have a Tidal Hi-Fi subscription and am unable to play Hi-Fi audio on my OnePlus 2's internal DAC. I get a split second of audio at the beginning of a new track and then silence. Playback continues (the song timer/location bar keeps on going) but I do not hear anything. I'm thinking that this is an issue with the sampling rate of the DAC? I haven't put any FLAC's onto my phone yet, but I will try that later tonight and see if they are playable via PowerAmp.
(I've tried searching online for the Tidal issue and it looks like at least one other person - a reviewer - has issues with Tidal - thestreet[dot]com/story/13293776/1/oneplus-two-review-nearly-flawless/ )
I also have a FiiO E17 DAC which I have tried hooking up to my OP2 via USB OTG. The DAC doesn't indicate that it locked onto a signal and the Oneplus doesn't seem to have recognized any change in audio - it just plays back audio via the speakers.
I was first experiencing these issues with Oxygen OS 2.0.2. Upgrading to 2.1.0 hasn't fixed them for me either.
Is anybody else having any issues with either of these and do you know of any fix?
Thanks!
Tidal is now working for me on 2.1

Are you using a custom kernel or anything else? 2.1 didn't fix it for me.
2.1 didn't fix it for me either.
Streaming FLAC on android isnt working on either of my android devices. I have to either downgrade the quality or save to device first.
I have the same problem with my OPT and Tidal hifi. No output on OxygenOS 2.1.2.
What USB OTG Cable are you using?
I have the same issue - I have posted a thread at the One Plus forum...
flac on a phone lol...

Thanks for posting on the OnePlus forum, I did not have enough replies yet to do this.
My Fiio E17 works without USB Player Pro when I enabled OTG Storage in settings.

[Q] VIPER4ANDROID With USB DAC? Audiophile's Im Calling you!

Hi I have always loved VIPER4ANDROID (the main reson to root for me) It has worked great with my sony MDR-XB90EX headphones so far(im a bit of a basshead). However recently i picked up a DAC PORT Slim from Centrance. All though it will play sound out of the headphones with pluged into the Usb-C port to much higher levels then the headphone jack ever would, VIPER says unsuppoted and will not work. I remember fixing somehting simillar with getting VIPER to work with Pandora, YouTube, Spotify, Etc.
When it is plugged android only recconizes it as a powered device (witch is good it does need power) but is there a config file I just need to add? Has Anyone gotten VIPER to work with any USB DAC?
-Thanks again

not working for me with dragonfly black V1.5.
audio is playing without any affect by V4A, when i connect the DAC driver status changes from "enabled" to "abnormal"
couldn't get it to work
I too have this problem.V4A was the only thing I rooted for, I'm on a pixel XL and USB out to Fiio Q1 amp DAC, it has a bass boost on it but that's it. Audio still works but the equalizer (or anything else ) has no effect on audio. Is there a fix for USB audio?
