I would first dry it considerably longer, maybe another 48h or so. 20h seems a little short IMHO.
If it stays in download mode reliably, i would flash TWRP via ODIN and try to backup /data/media (manually copy) as well as data to an externalSD and then go from there.

Yeah but when i turn it on into download mode and plug it with the computer
Odin did'nt Find the device
and i don't have some data

I would suggest putting it in isopropyl alcohol. You should have done that from a start after first wetting it. I completely submerged my S5 Active in water without the cover, the display was damaged, and the cameras where screwed. But when I put it in the alcohol for about 2 hours and then in the rice and then left it out in the hot sun, it powered on just fine, only the front camera gives me an error but the back is just fine.

[Q] I9500 in boot loop

Earlier today, I completely drained my battery and turned it on again. It shut down after this due to the battery being on 0%. I plugged it into the charger and now it's in a boot loop, meaning it shows the "Samsung Galaxy S4" start up, then completely reboots. I can't seem to boot into recovery mode (PhilZ) and whenever I boot into download mode, the phone restarts after a while.
I'm running a CM 11 nightly from April and haven't had any problems. Can anyone help me get my phone going again?

I have determined that it is indeed a power button issue, as I can boot into download mode by just using volume down and the home button, but the power button isn't stuck or anything and is still clickable. Any ideas?

Hi ,
you could try to clean it with a contact cleaner ( take battery out first) , do not use to much , watch out for the screen or take it to a service shop and have it replace, should not be too expensive

I don't really have any of that nearby, will have to take it for repairs. This should teach me to invest in a set of those small screw drivers

I never leave home without them !!
good luck.
Bought the necessary tools today, and I completely removed the button (not the soldered one) and the problem persisted, these are sad days. Samsung store refuses to fix it because of root.

Hi,
They should it has nothing to do with root ...is a hardware problem
Any way as you open it up try to clean it up with a contact cleaner ( specially made for electronics) or with some 70% solution alcohol , no battery let it dry , do not get soak the display , maybe is just dirt !!

Thanks to both you and Max for going through the effort of trying to help me out, I've hit that thanks button. I've fixed my problem by draining the battery (this takes forever in a boot loop), put the phone on charge and immediately went into the download mode. I exited the download mode and for some unknown reason it decided to actually work.
I've spent money on a tool kit and tweezers though (around $12 or 10 euros, I believe), but had the privilege of tweaking around on the inside, so that was a learning experience.

Boot problem

Hi there,
I use Omega rom on my galaxy S5. Yesterday my phone got a bit wet but for a s5 that shouldn't be a problem. Now I noticed a bit of water drops on the back of my battery so I dried in rice.
Here my problem,
My battery is working fine, it's charging and the phone works great. But when I turn off my phone and I put it in the charger it automaticly boots and starts. And when it's in the charger I can't use my lock button it's not working so I can't turn my phone off. When it's not in the charger everything is working? So I thought this has to be something with the ROM or whatver... Anywayz I can't flash or do anything because when I try to go to CWM Phillz or in downloading mode I have to put in the USB and the phone boots and starts.... SO this is really annoying cause I cant flash or use my CWM when my usb is in.
And I can't start my phone with the on button. I have to go in recovery first or in downloading mode en restart my phone from there to start it. It does react on the ON button but it's just a flash and nothing happens..
Thanks!

You`re not supposed to get a wet battery as that area should be sealed on the inside by the rubber band. Did you try pulling the battery, wait 20 seconds and boot into recovery. If that doesn`t work you may have more water damage then you think. Did you close the usb flap correctly?

Yeah tried that... Phone is actually working great. I can make phone calls shoot pictures and the sound is also ok. It's just the booting problem when I charge and it's not starting how it should be.
It was closed but it still leaked.

It would take out the battery and put the phone in a bowl with uncooked rice for a few days to let it dry completely. If that doesn`t help you may have the phone repaired.

[waterdamage] Wont boot but does charge

Hello Eerybody,
About 1 week ago my nexus 4 fell into the water. I quickly shutted it off and did like all the logical steps like drying it etc..
Now 1 week later im trying to use it again. But some how the phone wont boot, But it does charge, and the display works perfect.
When i remove the charger the green LED shows. After about 10 seconds it goes off.
How can i fix this ? It wont boot or anything...
Greets,
Mark
you should have put in a bowl of rice, it will start once everything has dried off, put it in a bowl of rice for 4 more days then try . 10 sec means its probably not getting power to the motherboard

Thanks for the quick reply, i did the bowl of rice thing... for 1 week... chaning the rice once a day >.>.... But this will say the mother board is dead?..... That's a shame... But i find it kinda wierd that it can still charge.... I mean if it doesnt get power the motherboard how does the phone knows he is getting charged? And how does he know that the screen must turn on when plugging in?

had a similar issue with mine after i spilt a bottle of gatorade on it. after i dried it out i ended up tearing down and rebuilding the entire phone and cleaning all the contacts and such. it now works great just like it did before except i had to get a new battery

I9515 will only turn on after an hour without battery and not even complete bootlogo

Hi there,
so I have here a Galaxy S4 Value Edition Black (I9515) and it is doing simply nothing. Just black screen, no lights, no vibration, battery is charged in another phone to be sure! I tried all the normal button combinations for Recovery or Download mode but nothing happens. Not even a charging indicator when plugged in.
Story:
I had it on my desk over night with the battery pulled out and in the morning I was able to get to the boot logo with the blue recovery text. But it will just hang there. After one or two tries it will only display half the bootlogo before it goes back to doing nothing again.
So I waited another few hours with the battery out and tried using a USB JIG to get into Download mode. This surprisingly worked on the second try and the phone stayed for around 20 minutes in this mode and was also identified by ODIN. While searching and downloading the correct stock pda I disconnected the phone und reconnected it every minute to check if its still working. After around 20 minutes it was still recognized by windows but not anymore by ODIN. So I now have to wait another few hours to get back into Download mode.
Questions:
-What could trigger such an "only power on when discharged"-behaviour? Fuses, Capacitors? idk
- Is there a way to quickly discharge every component on the board, so that i dont have to wait that long.
- What Hardware components should I inspect closer? Measunring points? Voltages? (multimeter at hand)
Thanks in advance!

Infinite boot loop on a water damaged phone

Hello everyone, I hope you could help me with this. Three days ago I accidently dropped my Moto G4 Plus in the toilet, It was immersed in the water for about 5 seconds and then I took it back. I noticed that the phone didn't turned off so I removed the back panel and dried all the water with a towel. The phone worked normally until the next day. I was watching a YouTube video when the screen got freezed for 3 seconds and then the phone rebooted for itself a couple of times until started normally again. I kept using the phone for some minutes but the screen got freezed again but this time the boot loop didn't stop. During the loop the motorola logo is displayed for about 20 seconds then the screen goes off for another 3 seconds and the motorola logo appears again.
I'm able to enter to the bootloader menu pressing the volume down button while the screen is off between the rebooting, that let me turn the phone off but when I turn it on again the boot loop continues. I already made a wipe data/cache using the recovery mode but didn't work. Also flashed the stock rom again via fastboot just to discard any software problems but the boot loop persists.
I found and old thread (https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2638916) of someone saying something about the flex power cable but I'm not 100% sure if that's my case and I don't wanna take the wrong decision. Any idea what my problem might be?

U need to remove battery, dry phone pieces completely by putting it in 5# of rice for 72hrs in gallon ziplock bag with all air sucked out using straw @ corner of bag, then reassemble phone and fastboot flash stock again
