Listen to command not working

Hello guys. I am having a problem with Google now in my nexus 4. I had a galaxy nexus where I could say to Google now play/listen to queen and it will appear the option to play songs on my phone from queen. And if I don't have any it just opens the YouTube app to play the songs. So I tried it now but it just appear a Google search. All other actions work fine like directions, set alarms, ask about stuff, but for songs is not working anymore. I have all three apps updated to the last version. So anyone is having the same problem?

Yes. And entered again and made all that initial setup. And tried to play a song but nothing happened, just a Google search. Is it working to you? I saw some people with this problem.

Try doing "Play [Song Here]".
It works fine here.
You have to type the name of the song not the artist and then it will appear in the search area in the other half of the screen or after searching.

It was working fine for me too a while ago and then suddenly stopped working after one of last updates. Maybe it's only working for US residents?

Not really one to talk to my phone, but just tested and it works here -- US.
Don't get the option for youtube but I do get play music, play store, and pandora.

Hmm, mine stopped working too. I don't use this often but I remember when Google Now first got released it was working for me.

You're using an older command. If you say "listen to" then the song, it may start working.
I had the same issue and switching commands seems to have worked.

I have the same problem it is on a samsung galaxy s4

You need to be in the right country
My work's wifi IP looks like it comes from the US. "Listen to x" works there, but not at home. I think that may be the issue.
Edit: I just tried it with my VPN service, and it started working again. It really looks like it filters by IP.

Google should make it more noticeable about what we needed to do to set Play Music as the default action for this.

App not working with 4.4

I thought it would be a good thing to follow app that didn't work well with kitkat so far...
- ebay - Force close
-break - freeze randomly
-bitstrip - Force close

XDA force closes on me more than any other app!!
Facebook freezes all the time.
GSam Battery. Can't use this at all.

Spotify - doesn't display album art

HBOGo doesn't work. It force closes. It's probably listed as not compatible but I restored from TiBu to try. They took forever to update for 4.3 too.

Viber closes when I try to send a photo..
Also XDA app doesnt work perfect. When I want reply to some post, it chooses one post above to (quote).

Annoying notification.

Since the day I got my phone this keeps coming back every few minutes. It happened before I even connected my phone to the Internet and downloaded anything can someone tell me how to stop it. If I press okay it just takes me to the app manager with a list of apps.

There are a couple of threads covering this issue. Solutions range from uninstalling knox to some account management stuff.
I just froze the app which is similar to "not having" the app installed. But I prefer keeping stuff on my phone rather than completely getting it off. I do this mainly because I never kow whether or not I may need the app again (actually, I don't know if this is needed for any other Samsung app on the phone).

I tried searching but couldn't find anything.
Also I have no idea what app is trying to do it. When I click okay I have a list of every app on my phone. Doesn't tell me what app is triggering the notification.

Tick auto update security in settings > general > security - there was an update pushed via this method depending on what carrier/fw you use(d)
Also make sure you are running the latest firmware which fixed this issue if security update was N/A

Latest firmware MJ7 fixed this bug already.

Google Drive taking too much storage

Hi
I have an issue not specific with the 6p, I see the same issue with my Nexus5
I use Google Drive on Android to upload photos and videos and other files.
After many months of usage, the Google Drive app size is taking a few gigs and I don't understand why??
I don't use offline files on Drive, and If I clear the cache in the app setting, it doesn't help.
So the only solution I got is to clear all the app data after a few months . Do you understand why?
Is it that Drive is keeping a local backup in the app of every files I upload from the phone?

It takes 46.26 MB on my 6P.
You can just clear the Google Drive app data from Settings > Apps, and re-login. See if this works.

Like I said in my first post, I have to clear app data everytime after a few months of usage
On my girlfriend Nexus 5 last week, she had no storage left and I had to clear Drive app data to get back 3 gigs.

Try that for one of your files (a bigger file probably, >50 MB) in the Drive, and check if the storage spaces consumes more data. It will confirm the situation.

I uploaded a big video 500mo and yep... The Drive storage is taking more space, about the same as the file I uploaded.
Now it's 1.5g instead of 1gig
Why is it doing this?

Now when you look into Google Drive, and open the menu of a file. You will see two different options there, Download or Make available offline.
The difference between the two is - 'Download' option allows you save the file to your storage, and you can browse/open/modify it from other third-party apps too, besides just Google Drive itself. On the contrary - 'Make available offline' option, does the same thing, but it saves the file under the app itself, and it could only be accessed within Google Drive.
So, for the latter the file is saved under the Google Drive app, which in turn shows the increase in storage space. If you use the Download option, the app storage wouldn't be affected at all.

But I don't download them and I don't use offline. I just upload a video from the phone to Google Drive, nothing more.
If I look at the file I uploaded, it's not available offline. And even if I delete it from the app Drive I don't get back the storage in the app (not talking about the storage in the cloud)

It is weird then. I only get an increase in the app storage if I use the 'Make available offline' option, otherwise everything just remains the same.
I hope someone else has a solution for your problem.

I have the same issue using zte blade a110 lollipop

Walked out of sprint with V20 yesterday.

The strange thing is there are no stock LG Gallery app no stock music app and no lg messenger app. I'm not sure what else is missing. Google messenger was preloading as was photos and Google music of course. From the I can tell this is only on the sprint version that's missing the stock LG apps. I did a restore from a G5 and thought maybe something went wrong. However after a factory reset, still no stock LG apps. Very strange.

I found this strange as well. I have had my V20 since Friday, and I have been struggling to find apps that would meet the mark. Finally, the text messaging app that works reasonably well is Textra. For the Music player, I use PowerAmp. That app fills the void well. I was also surprised that there was no native picture app, but the Google app it comes preloaded with was adequate. The only two things I am not completely happy with is the keyboard and the way the camera looks when you use it.

So it's not just me? That's nice to know. The funny thing is every hands on video of screen shots I see online have the stock apps. What carrier are you on?

I'm thinking they aren't selling it until Friday for a reason. Maybe they are waiting for a final software update on or before Friday? I'm not sure but I do know this seems to be isolated to sprint versions. I'm almost certain the V20 retains the stock LG apps from recent models.

I have Sprint as well. I think we are the only ones who have gotten the phone before the release date. I had the Note 7 (which I loved) and wanted something that could fill the void. I have worked a lot of things out, but the items I mentioned before are what is still getting me. You should look at this link http://phandroid.com/2016/09/21/lg-v20-first-19-things-you-should-do/ that will allow you to really make your phone better right away. Tell my what you think.

Bizarre. I'm on Verizon and I have all those stock apps (although I don't use them).

Exactly that's why I think this is more than a decision to exclude them. Something strange is going on hopefully it'll be fixed soon.

I did this. Search for LGGallery in xda and you will find a post where the apk's were ported from the G5 to older devices. It may not be the newest version of Gallery, but it works in my phone until LG decides to give us the apps.
