Pin code screen when unlocking seems bugged, anyone else having this problem? - Huawei Mediapad M3 Questions & Answers

Look at the attached pic. This happens when I try to unlock the screen without using the fingerprint. Basically it asks for the pin, but the keypad does not appear. Does this happen to anyone else? If I'm the only unlucky one with this bug I may justify a factory reset because it's really annoying.

passcode not correct

Just had to hard reset because the code for the screen lock came up as wrong. I know what your thinking but I was 100% entering the right code. Anyone else having this problem?
Further to this how come after hard reset the pass code request disappears surely that defeats the security of it if someone nicks your phone.

HD2 Keypad lock freeze, cant even boot!

I have SPB Mobile Shell installed, and have never had any big issues until yday. For some reason it did not want to unlock when I entered the unlock code. I am absolutely sure I entered the right code, but it said it was wrong (I am not talking about the pin, but the code for locking the keypad). I tried to do a soft reset, but I am not even able to get to the pin-code screen login, as I have to unlock the device before this. In the beginning it said the password I entered was wrong, but now nothing even happens when I press the unlock button after entering the password.
Any ideas, or do I really have to do the hard reset??
If I am correct you have to slide to unlock and then enter your 4 digit number to access the phone.
I had this issue a few weeks ago and tried every method to unlock it. The symptoms that you are describing are exactly what I had. I know that I was entering the right number but the message that came up was 'wrong pincode'.
I contacted HTC and they couldn't help me and suggested that I do a hard reset. I reluctantly had to do this and it was reset to factory settings. JUST BACK UP YOUR STUFF. All my footprints were lost. Good luck !!
Yes, thats the exact same problem as I have. Guess hard reset is the only way out.. =/ I do have all the contacts backed up in Outlook, and as far as I know the memorycard will not be deleted, so all photos etc will hopefully not be lost. But anyway quite annoying.. =/

Lockscreen bug? Doesn't seem to be ROM specific.

I have tried over 4 different ROM's trying to get this...bug to stop. A lot of the time when I try to unlock my device, each time I slide to unlock, my screen goes black...and I have to keep unlocking my screen to get it to go to my home screen. This is so frustrating, it can take 20+ unlock attempts to get it to actually unlock. Is anyone else having this issue or does anybody know how I can fix this?
Never seen this... I use a pattern lock, but never seen anything like this on any Android device except once when my Nexus One was swamped with logging from a crappy app on the market, and it just simply wasn't receiving input.

I'm going to try wiping my device out completely and going back to stock to see if that solves it... sigh.
Wiped all data, flashed to stock....nothing. I also tried other lock screen styles like PIN and Password... same thing. Is this something I would be able to RMA for? Do I go through Gamestop or Asus for it?
Sent from my Nexus 7 using xda app-developers app

I've been having this issue as well. I did a little digging, and it looks like it's usually due to the case. For some people, it's static buildup from the case. For me, it's because I have a case with a magnetic closure that turns off the screen when I close it. The magnet is pretty strong, so when I fold the front cover around the back of my Nexus 7, it can still turn off the screen immediately after I unlock it.
Try fiddling with your case when you have this issue. It might resolve the problem.

Lock screen tells me my pin is incorrect (its not)

I dont see this specific question...
I have my lock screen set as a pin
On a daily basis, it says my pin in incorrect and does not let me get into my phone.
It is the correct pin and I make several attempts to do so, to the point where I am locked out for a certain period of time.
If I restart my phone, the same exact pin works.
Is there a reason this is happening or a way of preventing this from happening?
Wild shot... but have you tried with the phone on a flat surface just in case you are touching the edges as you enter it?
Also, why not use the fingerprint lock? So much easier and just as secure as numbers.

Do you need data? If not, I would think you could reflash with Flashtool or Emma... You maybe can pull data with adb.
What do you think happened? Were you rooted? Any special mods? I've never seen that happen out of the blue before...
i haven´t seen this before too
and i don´t really know what pin he is asking for.
i ordered a otg cabel to connect a keyboard and will try the fingerprintpin.
thats the only pin i can test.
the device was out of sight for two hours, so maybe somebody try to unlock it?
the device is rooted.
i wiped cache in twrp, still the same problem.
at last i will try factory reset and after this flashing completly new
but i will by happy not to have this work
anybody an idea?
